No handmade structure is sufficient enough to express the gratitude that Americans owe to those who sacrificed so much for posterity. This memorial is a wonderful effort, nevertheless. Thanks to everyone who did their part!
Great had not got to visit during the holidays since I was working during the time that they had special programs there
Its really cool but definately not a whole park. Just a small walk around, like a median, with cool trucks and a helicopter.
Great place to see some military vehicles up close and personal
Cool landmark honoring our US Military Veterans. You cant miss it when driving north on McFarland Blvd. past University Mall. There are shade trees nearby. And its just a few blocks from Snow Hinton park where you can take a stroll through the park and play.
Your kids will love it
A great place to take your children, or yourself, to learn about the sacrifices made for our freedoms.
This is not what I would consider a park. This IS a memorial however and it is a nice memorial to visit because it is clean and they have a number of very interesting vehicles staged for viewing. My son enjoys ‘militaria’ as much as most Americans and he certainly appreciates the opportunity to see these military vehicles in person.I would note that they are going to need to update the memorial to include our countries latest wars...
A great monument in a high traffic area.
If you have never stopped here do so. Tuscaloosa takes very good care of this. Its educational and it remembers fallen heroes. Very nice little park to check out!
This is no park. I was rather disappointed to discover (info only available online) the names on the stone are $100 each to gave engraved. I also noticed two Medal of Honor recipients of whom have no correlation with Tuscaloosa county whatsoever. No mention of how THEY got THEIR special recognition plaque stand in rock. Also no information provided about how to have a stand made for a MOH recipient.Skip this and just keep driving. Alabama has better war memorials elsewhere.
Lets help 1 Veteran @ a time, and we all can do something.
Nicely maintained installation to honour them who had served and has been fallen or went missing. All specimen are well taken care of and are in good condition. Place of respect and being thankful: “The land of the free because of the brave!”
You have to support anything involving our soldiers and veterans of this great nation as a true red blooded American citizen.
Nice to be remembered.
