What a great place to go and hike, but besides that the trails are just kinda bland and it is not a mountain at all, it is barely a hill. Really it would be best described as a simple forest that is really all it is. But regardless of how you categorize it, it is a fantastic time to have with friends and also a great place to have a picnic!
Great trails with a variety of skill levels. Lots of rocks and no level ground throughout the entire trail system.Nice days are always busy but the trails are the same on not so nice days with less people. Trails put forth by the city are criss-crossed with other trails so it can be kind of confusing if you want to do a set trail. Typically at major conversions there is always an obvious colored arrow you can follow, or perhaps spray paint or ties on trees. Bring enough water as there is a washroom at the main parking lot but otherwise nothing.
Such a lovely time Friday at Turkey Mountain! Always nice to walk on leave and listen to the birds.I would recommend going during the week, if possible. There were less people, though everyone was nice and polite as usual. ️
Looked like a great place to get married..... so we did!I really like how clean and well laid out the park is. Its refreshing that they took great pains that the structures blend and complement the surrounding trees and terrain. And a bonus is how respectful the visitors are of the park and other visitors.
I recommend downloading the All Trails app. It will help guide you when the trail markers aren’t clear. I did the Yellow trail and it was about a two hour adventure. There are ‘poisonous snakes’ signs, but luckily I didn’t encounter any yesterday!! I would’ve liked more of the selfie posts throughout the trail. I only saw one and it was at the beginning/end by the lower parking area.
As being from Seattle, I didnt have much expectations for a mountain in OK, but was pleasantly surprised. Amazing trails and had a wonderful fall hike.
I love a good hike. The yellow course on turkey offers just enough difficulty to satisfy the craving. Well managed trail, plenty of shade and no obstacles to precludes novice from enjoying it. Similar trails around the world would be rated more difficult, but this one had enough rise, distance and twists to make it very enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Very good place to have an easy hike. good for family.
Good place to take the family and hike. Higher difficulty level terrain, might recommend some hiking boots, but overall, it isnt that difficult, certainly done far more difficult. Certainly nice to have near home and good for a quick get away.
Not a beautifully maintained park, but is has excellent hiking, and a lot of wonderful views. Lots of beautiful woods. Often the end by the water plant, outside the park, has a bad smell.Great place for a family day hike!
A nice park for all activities, with open bathrooms which are clean. Water for the dogs, overall very family friendly.
Great place to hike or even to use your mountain bike. There is a pond that is usually pretty and surrounded by trees. Dog friendly and fun.
Turkey Mountain has some of the best hiking trails in the Tulsa area. There are so many options and trails running around the mountain at different elevations. Our favorite is the yellow trail which is about 4 miles in total. The city has done a great job of cleaning up the area and keeping it well maintained.
I always enjoy my walks at Turkey Mountain. We encountered all kinds of critters, but it is a walk that challenges you on all levels. Get out and enjoy some fresh air and either take to the hiking trails or hit the pavement. Either way, you will enjoy yourself in scenic Tulsa!!!
Still a nice little place to visit and move up and down some naturally rugged terrain in Tulsa. Have a good hike everytime I visit. Pink trail on the backside could be marked a little better though.
This is another great park that Tulsa has to offer. Conveniently located next to hwy 75. Easy access and great trails. Has been a little busy since areas started opening back up after covid. If you have the time and love to get outdoors for fresh air come check this place out!
Trails are a little challenging but assessable for most! Great way to spend a morning enjoying nature.
The twins love the trails to go hiking on. They are four years old and think that turkey mountain was preserved for them their mom and baby sister. Its so cute to hear them telling their out of town family that when they come to visit next theyll take them to their hiding place called Turkey Mountain. And they have hiking trails and bike trails.I am not able to enjoy the trails with them because I am disabled. Im hoping that when they do their expansion and horse back riding they accommodate the handicapped with paved trails for wheelchairs. A beautiful sanctuary tucked away in the southern hills shopping area.
Thankful for the directional signs on the paths. It can feel like wilderness.
Loads of trails that are well-kept. Great for hiking and biking. Dog friendly.
It was an amazing family time the event was very scary at the same time young children appropriate cant wait for next year
We went for the halloween, and it was pretty fun! We had some jumpscares and it was pretty good. I recommend going if you wanna get some scares with some friends or the kids!
A perfect getaway without having to leave the city.
Great place for a hike! Perfect little get away from the busy of the city while never leaving town.
Great place to go hiking! Its good for any level of fitness. It has several different trails ranging in difficulty and experience.
Nice rocky 1.5 mile hike on the Blue line. A few folks dont clean up after their doggies. Respectful hikers otherwise.
There are a wide variety of different trails and options for getting your exercise on!!! My wife and i enjoy the ability to go for a challenging 6 mile walk or just a leisurely stroll on a less challenging walk just to talk and hang out. There is something for all here...
I planned to go for a 4mi run, but got lost a few times and ended up running 7.5miles. Some trails are extremely rugged. Has a nice selection depending what you want to hike. The trails could use a little better marking, and theres a lot of extra trails people have cut that make it hard to navigate. I saw quite a bit of animals, 4 rabbits, 3 black snake, vultures, box turtle, and lots of noises in the tall grass I would guess rabbits or chipmunks.
Haunted trail would have been fun but even the kids werent scared because the guides were speeding thru the woods they barely had a chance to enjoy it we landed up two groups behind we came to enjoy not run thru the woods
Always a good time to take a hike. Specially while the leafs are changing color and falling.
I love the way I feel when I am here it is a feeling of peace and freedom thank you for providing which a peaceful place too explore
Trash needs picked up in some places. But a nice place overall
Great hiking/biking or just a pleasant place for walking.
Great time! Great trails of different difficulty levels. If you are new, I highly recommend downloading the Tulsa Parks Trail Map app as you can see all of the trails on the map as well as your location so you do not get lost.
Its great for hiking. Tennis shoes work ok, but next time I will wear my hiking boots & put on some bug spray. It would be good if there were a few signs show direction to go up & signs for walking trail or harder hiking trails. Bring water, it could be a long hike.
Nice trails but not very well marked. Make sure you keep your bearings. Otherwise it is a lovely park and great trail
Gorgeous. Really needed a good walk/hike to clear my mind and this was the best place to escape the city for a bit. I love the outdoors and came from the wide open country so this kinda felt like home. It looks well tooken care of. People i seen were friendly and the air was fresh. Still heard the roaring highway but it was easy to tune out. I suggest taking the yellow trail if you love to hike and take in your surroundings. Trail is marked well if you keep left but after you make the loop the signs are a little spaced out, still nothing to worry about. Steep and rocky so watch your step.
Absolutely beautiful! Trails are clean and the views are amazing!
This is a great place for any type of outdoor activity. The annex is good for picnics, the mountain has miles of scenic trails and outlooks. The bike trail connects to riverside and is perfect to just go and go.
Loved it here!Came to Tulsa to visit family, and they showed us this cool park. The trails are well maintained and its a nice place to walk and get some exercise away from the city. Im happy a foundation was able to buy this land and donate it before some greedy organization got their hands on it.Also, I found a Geocache! The trails have a bunch.
We did the 3.7 trek and it was exhilarating. Great views and was clean
Great place near the center of the city for getting in touch with nature. Some great mountain trails for biking and walking!
Such a Gem, lots of hiking, biking trails, beautiful scenery!
1st time in Tulsa. Wanted an easy, scenic walk. This was perfect. Lots of trees, wild flowers, butterflies and birds. Arkansas River meanders by during the walk. Very pretty and close to town.
Great for a simple hike. Tried the pink trail. A little longer and more dence than the others. Trail is a little rocky but it was a good moderate workout. Took around 2 hours. Marked decent but you need to pay attention to stay in the trail. Download all trails app and you should be ok.
Lots of good long trails. Roots and rock debris clutter tails though.
Nice trails to get your heart rate up with awesome views
Its a great little patch of woods with walking trails next to the river.
Turkey mountain is a fun, clean, family friendly, pet friendly and equestrian friendly environment that presents lots of options for beginner and expert hikers and cyclists. With trails of different lengths and difficulty this park is a great place to be active. The views are lovely the trails are clean and the hikers are friendly! Turkey mountain is easy to find, has great parking, and on site restrooms pet watering stations and picnic areas. I enjoy coming here often!
Best hiking trails in Tulsa!! Your dogs will love it too! Short & long trails....you decide!!
So far one of the best trails that I found for a out of shape over weight beginner. There are lots of more difficult trails, but there is plenty to keep my heart rate higher than they say its supposed to be even on the easiest of trails.
Use to hike Turkey Mountain when my boys were young. We loved it. Now I want and willgo back with my little dog to hike again.
Wonderful place to go with the family for a picnic overlooking the Tulsa skyline
Awesome place to get away from everything and hike
I took these pictures at Turkey Mountain on December 23rd, 2017 when the ice storm hit. Cant believe how vacant the park was that day. So many people didnt get to see this in person. On the weekends this park needs more parking space. Great place for biking and hiking in Tulsa!!
Excellent place to trail hike or run with nice views of the city.
I really enjoy hiking around the different trails at Turkey Mountain. I appreciate all the trees that keep you shaded and cooler during the hottest part of the day. The trails are easy but I recommend decent shoes because parts of the trails are rocky. Keep an eye out for snakes, I just came upon a copperhead. The parking lot is nice and there is usually plenty of parking. It is really nice to have restrooms and water fountains at the entrance too.
I loved every step... root... rock... tree... and view. I cant wait to get back
Always amazing great outdoor place for exercise. Look out for bugs I’ve seen so many interesting insects.
Beautiful hiking trails, all marked correctly!
Great for hiking but runners be weary because there is alot of up and downs trails with alot of rocks and roots.
Great place to take the family with nice trails with multiple levels of difficulty
We stopped here for he first time and took the short trail (.08 miles). Definitely looks like a great place to hike and spend the day.
I love this place. Friendly people and great hiking and mountain biking.
I love it. I wish there were more trails locally like it.
Great place to hike! Cant wait to go back!
Its amazing what theyve done right in the city of Tulsa. Yellow Trail is a good 2 hour hike that does not get monotonous. Some good place to turn off and have a picnic on rocks.
I love it here.
If you love hiking you definitely should visit this beautiful place.
My aunt and I ride our horses here as often as we can. My complaint is more towards the people that visit. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR TRASH AND DONT DEFACE NATURE! People go here to enjoy nature, not trash and spray paint everywhere. My only other complaint for lack of a better term is I wish the trails were marked better, we got a bit turned around and ended up on some people only trails. I LOVE COMING TO RIDE HERE!
Wonderful hiking trails! It is currently still muddy from all the rain but just bring a change of pants and shoes and youll be fine!
Went to church across the street. Great church.
Awesome park with lots of trails! We really enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend coming to check it out!
Love this trail right here in town but once you get started it feels like your out in the woods!
Great hiking for all levels! Some of the trails arent super clearly marked, but I think that adds to the adventure. Definitely bring water.
Nice trails and open land basically right in the city. Come get some, ignore the pessimistic people who always want more. Its in the city!
It is not a mountain made of turkey. Its made of dirt and misleading titles.
A true Tulsa treasure. Great place for mountain biking, hiking or taking a stroll.
Great place to enjoy nature and spend time with friends & family
Every level of hiking you want and beautiful views!
Best place to go for a run/walk/hike/bike or just getting out for a adventure.
Nice little stop for picnic with nice trails and EXCEPTIONALLY clean restrooms!!!
I love the trails here. Its a bit removed from the public so it has a nice natural feel but is still public enough that you dont feel like you are lost in the woods. Probably some of my favorite trails. There are more woodsy dirt trails if you feel like going off the beeten path. There is a restroom at the beginning of the trail but none once your in them. Which can be inconvenient if you have young children but other then that these are beautiful trails worth the visit. These trails are pet friendly and there is a horse trail as well.
Great place to take the dogs and family and get out in nature and exercise! Different trails with different mileage. The only thing is the Blue Trail can be confusing because it is not properly marked. But we always figured it out or asked someone along the way!
It’s nice for a walk, and I’ve seen crazy things growing there in the spring, but It’s not much as far as hiking, the terrain is kind of bland.
Me and my dog love this place. It does seem to be crowded at times. The best Hidden Gem in Tulsa
Great place to get fresh air, stamp in the mud and see great views!
It is a nice place for kids and family. Walking, running, hiking and biking are my favorite activities. It just needs to be organized because after storm or thunderstorms can mess up the park sometimes.
Great for a day hike. The trails are varied and went with kids and they did well.
Great for hiking ! Love it here, so many different trails and they host occasional events that have been very fun.The views are amazing and its a good place to get lost in the beauty of nature.
This is a great recreation area with several trails varying in length from 5.7 miles to .8 miles. They are good for running, biking, and hiking. Inexperienced Mountain bikers may need a little practice before tackling the trails in the woods however. There is also a paved trail that goes along the west beans of the Arkansas river. My only issue with this area is that the yellow trail in the woods could be marked a little bit better.
Amazing!! Great view of Tulsa and an nice atmosphere for friends and family! The bike trail below is wonderful!! I plan to return here with my family!
We love hiking there with the kids.
Alot of metal in a Forrest park. And too many trails near the road.
Usually cleanGreat trailsFun for group activities
