Always something new. Fresh exhibits and thoughtfully curated. Learn something new.
The museum is a great way to beat the heat in the summer. Seeing all of the exhibits took less time than I expected but we still enjoyed it. The large exhibit changes every 18 months and the smaller every 12 months. If you are looking for the history of Route 66 note that this exhibit was gone as of our visit summer 2018. We didnt try the walking paths but they look nice for an easy and scenic walk.
Very interesting, mostly items from past peoples belongings. Very old items and lots of pictures to look at and mini movies to view. A must see for every Tulsan.
This place is full of Tulsa and Oklahoma history. I usually dont care for museums, however this place is more than a museum. This is a blast from the past for older Tulsans and a place of wonder for the younger ones.
We were just in for a meeting. Didnt get to see much but the building meeting room we were in was very nice.
I was there for a National Geographic Society textbook promo. Unfortunately I could only see downstairs.
As you approach the museum from South Peoria looking across the manicured sweeping grounds, you can imagine this setting in the roaring 20s, with two successful Tulsans building mansions side by side, one to become the Tulsa Historical Society, and the other the Tulsa Garden Center. Constantly changing exhibits give a visitor an in-depth look at Tulsas history, from oil exploration to rock stars. Easy parking and its serene setting make it an easy rich experience for older visitors who feel put off by the hustle and bustle of some museums. A true Tulsa treasure!
Love spending time here.
I had an enlightened experience at the book signing of Tulsa1921. There was a huge crowd who added informative dialog and asked very challenging questions of the author.
A must visit for citizens of Tulsa as well as visitors.
Very nice museum! Lots of great exhibits. I learned so much! Id highly recommend making a visit here. Especially visit the gardens and walk around outside. Its so gorgeous.
Quite a lovely place. I intend to go back and peruse the archives. Lots of local history. Very nice. A lot of fun for the family. I cant wait to see the gardens in bloom.
Super interesting and highly recommend. They do a good job of balancing fun facts w very somber moments in Tulsa history. The mansion restoration very impressive. Would have like to see more about the 80s oil bust!
We all need to know what was. This a a real taste of it. Kids had a great time.
This Home once belonged in my family so it has a special place in my heart. Thanks so much for keeping it beautiful! This is a gorgeous venue for any event with the stunning landscapes, gorgeous gardens, and lovely Art Deco on the Inside. There are little pockets of beautiful all throughout the inside. Really love any time I visit this place.
Lovely gardens and venue. We were invited there for a wedding. Perfect for a smaller, more intimate group and setting. Staff are very accomodating and professionally courteous. My sole complaint was that it was only available until 10:30 pm, otherwise quite a lovely evening.
Staff was very friendly walked through on my own. Only $5 to enter. Nice small museum on local history. Was also able to visit Greenhouse and Rose Garden next door.
If you like history. You love this place. Take your time and read all about tulsa.
Beautiful place year round. Lots of neat history about the city.
You have to see the television and radio exhibits. It is a step back in time. All the old kids will remember Miss Peggy/Romper Room, Mr. Zing and Tuffy, Uncle Zeb and some other characters. Don Woods was well represented. And so many, many more. You wont regret it. Did you know that Tulsa had its own car manufacturer? Yep. Go, thank me later.
We went there for an event. Lovely view with an antique Steinway piano in excellent condition. The piano is a part of Tulsa history. You should ask someone about it if you visit.
Wonderful exhibits and very nice atmosphere.
I found this museum to be very small and sterile. Mainly written stories with a few artifacts.
Great to see Tulsa history. Lived there for 45 yrs. Been in Texas 26 yrs now.
Always wonderful to hear and see Donald Ryans brilliant performances. The Tulsa Historical Society is an excellent venue for music and meetings with the fascinating history of Tulsa surrounding you.
It is a wonderful place for a wedding and reception.
They do a great job of changing their major exhibit to illustrate Tulsa and Oklahoma history from a local perspective.
Nicely organized with a warm welcome. A large senior crowd was the audience. Too bad there was no younger generation present. Keeping the dramatic impact of war alive in todays world is very important to avoid a possible next one.
A very nice place!
What a great museum rich with Tulsa history, trivia, talents and tales. Worth the visit. Appreciate the firsts and film history.
Very nice place, love going there for work event.
Fantastic museum with high quality exhibits, layout, graphics, and photos! Learn about the history of Tulsa in a chronological walk-thru displaying never before seen historic photos, interesting facts/trivia, movie stars, etc. The Tulsa population is listed at each date on the timeline showing the growth of the city.
Collections are well-arranged and informative. Im not a native Tulsan, so visiting the museum has been a great way for me to learn about Tulsas rich history. There are so many great artifacts, its hard to know where to start your visit. Top picks from todays visit are the Tulsa Race Riot virtual tour and the Art Deco display. Its sombering to realize how many lives were lost or destroyed during that period, and to realize how little, in some ways, weve changed as a society since then.
Lots of informative exhibits here on topics relavent to Tulsa area history ranging from the formation of the Native American nations counsel to Black Wall Street and the riot against it to history of local radio & television programs to the filming of the Tulsa-set movie The Outsiders based on the famous book series by Tulsa area native S E Hinton. There are a couple nods to area minorities (mentioned above) but most exhibits are pretty Eurocentric.
Went to a special event there and it was amazing!
Always something new about the history of Tulsa. This place is amazing!
Always a great experience. Went to the Tulsa Radio and Television Historical Exhibit. Wonderful memories.

Interesting events here, interesting and beautiful place to stop and enjoy the pace of its library!.
Great place to learning about Tulsa history. The volunteers are welcoming. Residents of Tulsa should visit. This not just a place for people dropping by Tulsa.
Radio and Television display was amazing.
Good for kids, they will have fun...
Great place to visit. Had a good time. Love Tulsa history
The exhibits are well designed and the staff at the door was very friendly! A lot to read, so probably not the most interesting for younger kids
Friendly staff and beautiful exhibits showing Tulsas history. My favorite aspect was the uniforms of different occupations through the years.
Gorgeous place for avid photographers.Peaceful atmosphere. Very clean!
Very nice museum. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Always have loved the history and art deco!

Excellent museum. Learned alotabout the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921. Well documented, and very sad moment in Tulsas history.
Had our Tulsa Rose Society meeting there today. Excellent facility for meetings or bigger events.
Beautiful place for an afternoon or morning visit.
Great place for the whole family. Fantastic museum! Plus a ton to do in the area.
This was really interesting. Just a FWIW, I would like to see more emphasis/information on individuals that were critical to making Tulsa Tulsa.
I was REALLY amazed at how much I enjoyed this place. It is a cool walk through Tulsa History.
Great resource for both the classroom and community.
This is a cool place to see the history of Tulsa. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.
Such an incredible journey! Definitely take the chance to stop by here
Nifty to visit & wonderful for gatherings. We hold a non-profit fundraiser for Streetcats, Inc every year around V-Day and THSM bends over backwards to assist with the planning.

December collection of antiques pertaining to Tulsa and its history. They have free admission for the first Saturdays off each month.
Depends on the exhibits, the rose garden around the building is beautiful.
Found a 1917 map this visit which had the Schuttler land marked, it was misspelled though as it often was back then.
Lived here until I was 15, but I learned today that Tulsa is the birth place of the yield sign.
Very informative, nice, clean and well maintained area.
Beautiful!

Beautiful venue for any kind of party.
Excellent place to go if needing info on Tulsa
Supporters of The University of Tulsa, ridden with bigotry and corruption and also supporting racism at Tulsa Community College.
