Wish they had better hours or that at least the gift shop was open. Was passing by and was only able to take pics. My friend is very into the outsiders and would have probably bought a bunch of stuff.
I loved it!! So cool to see the house so now when I watch the movie I can say I have been there
Fun, neat store. Quirky cool. Stay gold
I Love the outsiders! This is so cool!!! ️️️ (I’m in 7th grade btw)
Excellent museum.... Brings back memories of a great book and movie.... Must see for any outsiders fans
Greatest place on earth for people who love the book and/or movie!!
Meticulously recreated to bring the Curtis Brothers house from the movie back to life. Weve all read the book in school and weve seen the movie; now go back in time and see where the magic happened.
Literary landmark! Great book. Great movie. Nicely done. Stay Gold
Not the best neighborhood, but even during COVID and off-hours, you are welcome to enter the gate and sit on the front porch. Really enjoyed seeing it!
Beware of reviews made before the museum was even open, or from the single neighbor who doesnt like the occasional traffic. For fans of the S.E. Hinton book and the movie, its a treasure trove of memorabilia and nostalgia. Dont miss an opportunity to take a tour of the house/museum and surrounding film locations. You wont regret it. Amazing!
AMAZINGI came to the museum during the coat drive, (which was a great idea!) and I loved it! I love the book and movie and this made me so happy to see all the costumes and things from the actual movie. Danny Boy was there and welcoming people which was very nice! Going back for a tour soon! Thank you!!
An absolute must! This is Hollywood Nostalgia, a Tulsa treasure. Danny the home owner & team were so informative, friendly, & will make sure you have fun. It felt like you were in the movie walking around looking at the home museum. It really was so cool.
5 STARSThe house is one of the Original locations of the filming of The Outsiders that also includes a bus tour.Inside the restored house you will find authentic items that were used/or worn in the film, as well as various still shot photos.Several years of planning, fundraisers and a tremendous amount of work has transformed this dream to reality. A MUST SEE whether you’re a Tulsa native or a fan from across the country or internationally, this experience will not disappoint. Thanks to S.E. Hinton for a timeless story and Danny Boy O’Connor and his crew for realizing the significance of this house. It’s most certainly a gift we appreciate having here in Tulsa!Stay Gold
Went to OK to visit my best friend, how had recently moved there. We had a blast as well as a blast from the past. Made me go home and re watch the movie!!!
What can I say that hasnt already been said? This place just keeps getting better and better. I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening of this amazing step back in time house / museum. Danny Boy OConnor had really put this book /movie back on the map for thousands of kids who are lucky enough to have this in their reading still. He had paid attention to great detail inside and out of the house, and if you are a fan of the book or movie you will not be disappointed. I had to contain myself as I sat directly next to C Thomas Howell (Ponyboy Curtis) and tried not to act like the superfan that I am. Whether it was reciting Robert Frosts poem with him, word for word and just hearing him tell stories that I never knew it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I cant thank everyone involved enough, meeting S.E. Hinton and having visited the area twice now, you really get a feel and understanding for the book and the characters a little more. When I was 12 there was no internet and the only thing I knew about Tulsa, OK was what I could read in an encyclopedia, kids today are spoiled damn it. If you ever find yourself in Oklahoma, even if its in Oklahoma City, take the couple hour ride up to Tulsa and embark on a one of the most amazing stand still in time houses you can find in America. Stay Gold Derek In Boston
Really neat and cool place. Read the book in the 70s and saw the movie lots of times since it came out. So glad to see it being saved. Was here 2 weeks before it opens but will definitely be back to go through it. Thanks to the people who saved this classic piece of cinema.
I thought this place was a good money profit project, the neighbor across was no good people, tried to be cool with someone there but just left me want them to learn there lesson and I dont forget... Hope that blue Impala they have gets vandalized like windows being busted or something lol hahaha .... young people are always going to to learn eventually reminds me of someone like Kyle y. Hes a little soft Kitty Kat too... #see me 1 day
Wonderful experience. Would love to come again!
Showed up on a whim with my daughter, whos a huge fan of the book and movie. Apparently you have to by tickets in advance and the tours are by appointment only. This includes the bus ride of filming locations and the permission to even look in the house. We got to peek through the door but were told no further than that since we hadnt made an appointment. Plan in advance and do your research. Very disappointed that you cant just stop by and visit and that needs to be stated more clearly. We didnt check the museum website; just looked it up on Google and went.
I got peaces of sidewalk if anyone wanna buy can get pictures to prove its from in front
If The Outsiders movie has a special place in your heart you have to visit the Outsiders house. The collection is amazing. The house has been restored, but still looks like the Curtis brothers home. Not to mention the guided bus tour of all filming locations. Its perfect for all ages!
Lots of great memorabilia!
I have loved this book as a child when had to read it as a class project and I absolutely enjoyed the movie also. I’m not from Tulsa so when I moved here to my surprise I found out the house from the movie was turned into a museum and it’s been set up well. Very educational and a perfect way to preserve a movie location that’ll inspire more to read the book!! Total win all around. I suggest you come visit this location and checkout some amazing history!!! Just wow!
Awesome place. Danny has done an excellent job preserving this historical house. Definitely put this on your bucket list. I would give it 10 stars if it were allowed. Stay Gold
Amazing idea to do this for Tulsa and the fans. Great mix of stuff from movie also. Love it!
Definitely cool place to visit and take pictures but its just the house not a museum and it looks as if someone lives there.
The dream place for any The Outsiders fans. To be in the house that the Curtis Brothers lives and all the amazing memorabilia that is beautiful displaces is a dream come true. A lot of love went into making this true to the film. You will not be disappointed.
This was a beautiful place and my school took a field trip after reading the book and watching the movies
Possibly one of the coolest things to do in Tulsa!!!
Several of these reviews are from before the house/museum was finished and open for tours. The collection of Outsider’s movie set memorabilia and wardrobe is quite impressive! The house was painstakingly restored to look like it did in the movie. I really enjoyed it all!
Danny has Done a Great job Rebuilding this house/museum . Would have been cheaper and faster if he would have tore it down and built a new house. But than it wouldn’t be The Outsiders House now would it . It’s incredible what he has done here . Started with his own money and built something that will be here for generations.
Check the website to know what to do
Danny has done a wonderful job restoring this historic home. Come out and visit!
Its pretty cool, especially if you love the movie. My only issue is feeling rushed, I didnt get some photos I wanted because of that. The price of $35 each should be lowered, $25 is more like it. Didnt have shirt I wanted in my size. But I think its great and I understand the $35, it took a lot to make this happen and honestly its worth it. I would just recommend slow down staff and a price reduction. Thanks for making this a thing tho, Stay Gold!
Should open up in a few months. Pretty cool place to see. Stay Gold
You can only visit the museum by appointment. but as you can see, photo ops are okay!
This made for an Awesome Day trip for the Family!!! We enjoyed seeing all the Filming locations!!! The Curtis House which is now the Museum has lots of memorabilia and wardrobe from the Movie!!! Tickets can be purchased online and you can also make a donation using their website to help support the Museum!!!
Was really cool lots of memorabilia and everybody there was really nice and helpful to take pics. Even got a pic with Danny OConner.
You know, I really liked the movie (OUTSIDERS )and Ive seen it a dozen times at least and my family and I would love to visit the museum. But I have never payed $50 for any museum admission. For me and my family it would be over $300. Im disappointed.
I went here on a Tour with one of the actors and the houses owner during the Tulsa Pop Culture deal. The house itself is magnificent and it feels welcoming when you go in. Highly recommend it!
Danny OConnor is truly a hero for those of us who hold The Outsiders with reverence. Thank you for tackling what many believed to be the impossible and preserving this hallowed filming location that shaped so many of us 80s kids. Stay Gold.
Love taking out of town friends to see this. Was treated like royalty by a staff member on Christmas Day. Thank you!!!
Super cool preservation of a Tulsa landmark. S.E Hinton Rules
Garbage garbage. Horrible service dont come
Danny OConnor has helped revitalize this community with this house. Not only was he embraced by Tulsans, he now calls Tulsa home. The house is a wonderful passion project, and I wish them all the best!
I lived behind this house, watch the movie and watch them fix this hpuse up love it
The Outsiders House Museum is terrific. You should definitely visit and take the location bus tour if you come to Tulsa. Stay Gold.
Outsiders House Museum is the real deal, a must see. Thanks Danny Boy OConner for making this happen in Tulsa without you there would be a useless empty lot where the house is by now. Stay Gold!!
Thank you for saving such an historical place for those of us who love the cinema and of course, live for The Outsiders. I can’t wait to get a chance to come up to visit!
A true gem for SE Hinton fans, fans of The Outsiders movie, and folks who enjoy nostalgia. Wonderful asset to Tulsa.
Absolutely an incredible experience! The attention to detail and the collection of artifacts from movie was moving.
The staff was nice, but the house was only open to bus tour groups.
Fantastic all encompassing collection and renovation led by passionate fans. A time machine and must see for any fans of the novel or movie.
Once in a lifetime experience being there with the man who played Pony boy Curtis.
A great piece of nostalgia for Tulsa and the surrounding areas.
Awesome and great but it was all fake
I cannot wait to see the finished museum! Hats off to Danny Boy OConnor for his determination and perseverance, what an amazing thing he is doing!
I am literally the biggest fan of The Outsiders!!!I read the book in school and I watched the movie like over 100 times because at one point I was obsessed with it and I still love it. I would really like to come here one day when the museum is going to be open...
This was an awesome day to come see this beautiful place with my kids!
Cool cool
Not an actual museum and there is a gate around the house. Cool place to stop and take a picture with the house and street sign.
Took me back to the summer of 83. I was 9 years old and I lived 5 houses north when I met Emilio, Matt, Ralph
Its still being built. You can only look from beyond the fence, but its still cool. Literally nothing has changed since the filming of the movie.
Awesome place to visit cant wait to come back.
Great to see this shot location, though currently looks like its under renovation to maybe all the public to be able to walk through.
Such an amazing experience! I loved it, after reading the book and watching the movie you definitely feel like your one of the characters!
Interesting
I wanted to give zero stars but that wasnt an option. It is disruptive to the neighborhood. Causes traffic nightmares and near miss accident because it is a distraction to drivers.
Danny is doing an amazing thing for Tulsa #StayGold
Was nothing what I expected. Bummer
Great memories that take you back to the film
It was so awesome seeing this house in person!
Im very happy to see someone is finally taking the steps to save the Outsiders house. And how cool that Danny Boy from House of Pain is the one doing it. Big fan of the Outsiders and House of Pain
When does the museum open, I Really Wanna Go To Tulsa To See This Place And Just Check Out The Town In General, The Movie Houses, Car Shows And All Of The Old Buildings
Greatest book I have ever read
Pretty cool to see it in real life. If you get the chance check it out! Neighborhood a bit sketchy, but ok.
Best place in Tulsa for me!
This is a wonderful place to go to see the history of the book that was written about The Outsiders the movie that was made about the Insiders. Not only does it hold information about the book in the movie but it is part of the history of Tulsa Oklahoma where the movie was filmed
Anyone a fan of the movie should definitely go by and check it out once its complete.
Can’t say enough about how amazing this place is!
It was actually pretty cool
Its cool to be nostalgic while worrying if you possessions are safe
This isnt the usual type of museum to tour. The house sits on a corner lot, fenced with a locked gate. The grounds are barren but clean. There is a street sign named for the two brothers based upon the book/ movie, The Outsiders.
I read the book and it is cool
Always wonderful
This is cool place
Cool place to go on vacation
Not quite finished yet, get back to you later.
Cool little place of movie history
Amazingggggg
