75ft tall...43500 pound standing tall from 1953....something worth seeing at least once....thats what me and my friend discussed when we read all this details on google. We turned our vehicle and headed towards it....Good experience to see something that big...6th largest statue in the USA...that was crazy!!! But nice.....Seen statues of famous people but a statue of an oil worker was something really new and never clicked in the mind that something like this can exist. Highly recommended at least once......:

The Big Guy is a completely unique experience and thoroughly Tulsa. He is also very socially conscious, as can clearly be seen in this photo with him wearing an appropriate facemask for being out in public. Besides that, theres no question that he regularly practices social distancing since he is close to 40 feet tall. ;-)

Two stars. Women have, and do still, work in petroleum. So if we can paste tacky advertising on it, (those KMOD t-shirts)we can definitely change the dedication plaque without compromising anyone’s “integrity”.

I think the Golden Driller is such a cool landmark in Tulsa. I love how it shows Tulsas history as the oil capital of the world. It seems like a lot of things are named after this one statue (sports teams, sushi rolls, etc.), which I think is kind of cool. You can find him right outside the Expo building. This is where the fairgrounds are every year in the fall. In the summer, you can visit the Golden Driller and enjoy one of the best snow cone shacks right next to it while youre at it.

I have lived within a mile of our ever faithful Golden Driller statue my entire life. I love seeing him in his gigantic t-shirt every year during the fair. Hes always standing tall and, at night, shining brightly. My siblings and I all have our pics, as little kids, perched on his boot looking like little ants. This was really something to see! The last reviewer mentioned the construction vehicle in front of it....they must have been there around the same time we were. I could not understand why they did that. My friend, even bumped his head, on part of the contraption, while on his phone. We still managed to get some good pictures, by eliminating the vehicle, from view. This was our highlight of Tulsa, while Route 66ing!

Its a giant gold statue with a nice butt.Seriously, though, why did you have to go and shave down the package of a topless man? Hes topless and still has a massive booty. Like, why was THAT what caused offense? And why did it cause offense in the first place? Its a statue.Anyway, its just a big statue. Nice to see, but not a must see.RIP Proportionate Package.

We didnt know the history of the statue. For us it was just a quirky roadside attraction. We stopped to take a short break from our road trip. It was neat. We took some pictures. Didnt see a lot around. There was some sort of snow cone stand in the parking lot; which seemed popular when we were there. The building behind the golden driller is some sort of expo center. We did not check it out. But Id imagine if there was an event at the expo center -then Id imagine that itd be difficult to find a place to park.

People don’t appreciate this Tulsa historical feature. Tulsa was the ‘Oil Capital of the World’ and this statue symbolizes an era gone by. There is so much history in the Tulsa oil business. Is it a must see like the Statue of Liberty? Likely no, but if you’re at an event or the state fair you’ll be reminded of Tulsa’s past. (By the way, the Statue of Liberty is a Muslim girl based on a pagan goddess and people love her.)
