This was a great hike. I would suggest using a camelpack or something like that for water, considering it will make climbing a little easier. The place was trashed, unfortunately. I would bring some gloves & bags to help clean up. I really wish people would quit trashing our beautiful state!Cant wait to go back!
I would love to go here every single day! I absolutely love this place! Its so gorgeous! Every person that weve ever seen up there has always been super nice and really really smiley :)If you find a set of keys up there, get in touch with me because I do know where they belong...I would definitely suggest to anybody that wants a good hike that this is a great trail and not saying there is always water but when there is water its just absolutely lovely and breathtaking to be at! It eases your mind and your soul and will make you happy even though you may be out of breath youll be very happy and not disappointed at all!!!
Gorgeous hike! The trail down to the water is pretty easy. However, you have to climb over lots of boulders to work your way to the falls. We really enjoyed climbing over the rocks... seemingly most people are not interested in doing that, so its a great way to find some solitude! Absolutely gorgeous!
Great little walk to the creek for a dip. Water was kinda cold but not super cold and no major water fall action. Was flowing and clean though. Was there mid week so not very crowded. Beautiful!
The are was nice. It’s was just so hot and dry. Long drive to find the waterfall all dried up.
This is a nice trail down into a canyon and along the river. Its a easy trail to the river but after a short while up the river it gets tricky and you have to scramble over boulders and cross the river a few times to get to the waterfall. Its not for someone with mobility issues. My app said 1.8 miles but its longer than that since you cant go straight up to see the falls. There is parking but its limited so beware on the weekends..
Good trail, gets pretty technical toward the end.
This is a short hike to water in the spring (liquid snow) . The parking lot is pretty washed out, I wouldnt bring a car, but there were some parked there. The trail winds down, down, down to the Tanque Verde Creek. I went on a Tuesday morning around 10:30 and there were many more people than I expected. Spring Break perhaps? There is lots for kids to do right at the creek without hiking further. Lots of boulders to climb and beaches to play on. This time of year there was share next to the rocks (cliff), but not so in the summer. Beautiful! It was absolutely beautiful. But keep some energy for the home back out!
Went up to watch meteor shower. Saw one spectacular one.
The dogs love this place. Wildflowers are in bloom at the moment . Not an easy hike if your not agile. Hiking through the canyon is great fun, getting wet and climbing is required.
That is a nice very short hike. I made it to the parking with my low clearance car but just be aware the short road to the parking is not great for your low clearance car but that is ok.There was some water yesterday. The downhill trail is quite easy to follow. The uphill trail is harder tho. I went off trail because you can take a lots of small trails. Do not worry too much, you are going to join the main trail at some point but I also had the map on my phone. Just be careful, that’s it.Bring plenty of water and happy hiking.
This is a super fun place to go be advised it is definitely a somewhat difficult Trail to hike due to Slippery Rock even on the dry Rock now. Theres cliff jumping when the water is suitable and high enough but if youre looking for beautiful views and Gods Great Earth then take lots of water and have a great day
In my opinion the falls werent all that, but the canyon was beautiful and getting to the falls was super fun, lots of bouldering or even free climbing if you want to!
This place is one of the he most underated trails in Tucson. Everyone raves about 7 falls but this trail is much shorter and more rewarding. We warned though, there isnt much shade on the hike in and out and there is much more climbing involved. Bring water!
Good workout steep climbing then river bed wit pools
Short hike (20 min.) down to canyon. Very scenic. Some nice holes for dipping into. Deeper one up by the second falls. Be prepared to crawl over, under and through boulders. Down river is easier.
Easy and beautiful hike. Dog & kid (9 & 10 yrs old) friendly. Went last weeks of November and no water, only left over puddles... But still great place to walk through.
This hike is not for the faint of heart! If the Falls are running you should be prepared to scale so pretty high Cliffs to get around the water. The views are unbeatable and it is absolutely Majestic no matter what time of year.
Hiked down the trail to falls not too bad of a hike, meet lots of nice people while I was down there.
This place is very dangerous! The trails are not marked and we got lost twice. No cell phone phone service so forget about calling for help if you get hurt or snake bit.
This is a very beautiful place to go hiking.
Great little hike for everyone. Not very hard and short. Nice views.
Wonderful hike. Moderate to the river, difficult to the falls and quite difficult beyond (depending on flow). 2 hours is a pleasant visit (plus travel to site).
Awesome hike. Beginning to the end was fun and a bit challenging.
Its a short trail, with an awesome view!
Short 1.8 mile hike. Water not running in summer. Can be dangerous in flash flood. Lots of desert flora.parking lot at trailhead on dirt road.
My very favorite hike in Tucson so pretty. No charge or paying for parking. You can bring pets. It is a little challenging to make it all the way back to the main falls but it is so pretty!
Beautiful place! Only downside is the trail can be a bit tricky to see in certain parts.
Lovely hike with gorgeous scenery!
Close to Tucson, short 1/2 mile hike into a cascading river. Gotta love it
Just incredible place a must see for the beautiful views from this very special place
Very Short and Rocky Trail, we hiked the trail in dry season so there was no water in the river, we hiked all the way to the river bed, very beautiful, we hiked through the river bed, it’s very rocky be very careful on the way up and down, it was probably like .8 of a mile down, super easy,
Check it out after some snow in the higher elevations or rain if you want to see it flowing really good. With that though, take your time and dont get swept away haha.
Of course this place is beautiful! I love hiking it, about 8 miles from sabino parking lot to and from. Only downfall is there is always a lot of people on this hike. So if your going for quiet try a different trail! There are so many there!
Beautiful place to hike. Water flowing strong through the canyon.
Stunning Vistas and a nice workout with the reward of a cool, trickling mountain stream.
Great place... beautiful falls especially after climbing all those rocks!!
The hike was good, Id say just right. Only pools now, but Itll fill up soon!
Short hike with great views and running water!
Half mile hike down to bottom. At bottom there is noreal trail just the river bed with small and large boulders, as in the second and third pic, to pick your way up the canyon to the falls. Some dont like that but husband finds it fun and challenging.
Great place to take a hike with your dog. Shame some of the trails here dont allow pets but this one does. Granted some lazy pet owners leave their pets mess in the trails and some even bag it but then leave the bag which of course makes no sense but fir the most art it is a wonderful hike especially during the rainy times.
I visited this in the 1st week of December and theres no much of a water but still beautiful of a view. We did find it little difficult to find the parking. It took a 20-25 mins hiking to reach this small place from the parking. It depends on person to person as we had kids with us to carry and walk, it was little bit difficult but not impossible. Actually We didnt get to see the actual falls as we have to walk for another 40-60 mins and that didnt happen with kids. It was totally worth of 20 mins walk. Make sure to wear a proper shoe for hiking.
Nice trail. No marker for the Falls trailhead, just Tanque Verde so pay close attention. There is a nice parking lot across the street. There was still a small waterfall and water in October. Easy hike!
Amazing hike but it would be nice to have signs or designated mile markers to let hikers know how far away they are from the big falls while hiking along the stream towards it
Very nice hike along a stream toward a waterfall. I recommend!
Truly an oasis in the barren desert nothing more nothing less...
Excellent place to go for a day or two
Great hike water was incredible pools cooling just incredible
Really fun spot my son and I went to take the Jeep out. The trail was easily accessible from the Jeep and itd probably be accessible from most passenger cars. There were a few Rocky spots, but all in all, smooth trail and awesome sights to see in our beautiful Arizona desert!
Great short trail with big reward (if the water is flowing)
I love to go there beautiful but watch out from work goes to Asphalt to the hill the pin curves can be dangerous if people are coming from down from the mountain so just be safe okay and have fun?!
Very Pretty Place. Great place to picnic and read a book.
Good place to take your dog for a swim. Would be hotter in the summer though
A difficult hike, didnt make it to the big falls. Well get an earlier start next time.
Easy hike down onto the creek bed. Does involve small amounts of climbing if youre going to the falls.
Good times for the family. Perfect day too!
Was well-worth the drive, hike, and time. We were very fortunate that there was plenty of snow and rain before our visit so the falls were very intense and beautiful. The hike was difficult at parts because the water was flowing, and we saw some people with young children seeking different routes hoping to get to the falls but it was a bit of rock hopping to get there.
Short hike down to the river, trial head not clearly marked, its just off the right of the road
So beautiful. Not a difficult hike, but alot of rocks. Not for children.
Beautiful, but the hike was no joke on the day I went. The water was high.
Great hike! Be careful while hiking.
Always a good time outside.
Natural beauty.
Beautiful hike!! Fun for the humans and doggos!
Go East on Tanque Verde rd until it becomes Reddington rd. At that point...go up the Dirt road until you reach lower Tanque Verde falls. A .5 mile hike down you have found the basin. Proceeding up the rocky water filled canyon requires the execution of Extreme Caution &Physical Stamina!.
Had a wonderful day great place to go riding
Beautiful trail that leads to an amazing stream with small falls.
Super gorgeous views, and the trail was great. Nice and easy going down to the bottom, but will give you a little run for your money on the way back up and out! Its about a half mile each way, I believe...so not an all day adventure
Great - a short hike, but the river and water fall is great
Short run to the falls. Fun and may require some rock hopping
Excellent, easy trail with a reward if there’s been rain. Great during monsoon season.
In March/April, theres still a lot of water for it to be a beautiful hike. You can continue past the trail and climb past rocks to get to more scenic and less crowded areas, and it overall isnt too difficult of a hike.
Short hike followed by a bit of boulder scrambling to a large pool and waterfall. Far from the best hike in Tucson, but popular due to the proximity to the road.
Tanque verde is definitely one of my favorite spots to hike. The waterfall at the end makes the whole hike worth it, specially in rain season. One of the best if not the best hike around Tucson
Great place to hike and climb. Falls are nice and soothing! Bring lots of water!
This a trail for experienced 4x4 drivers with a capable vechile. The views are great nice place for an all day trio
Great short trail leading to the water.
Fun hike. Short downhill to the water. Lots of fun hopping from boulder to boulder around the many pools. Beautiful
Heck of a hike....lots of big boulders to climb over
Awesome hike. Just a little over 2 miles round trip to the last waterfall. There are three of them along the way. Be very careful going up to the last fall. You have to climb up the face of a cliff to get there. I didnt see any other way up. The last fall looked to be 60 to 80 feet tall and well worth it to make it up there.
Excellent water flow this time of year!
We had a nice afternoon for a hike. No waterfalls this time of year but the temperature was perfect, 70 degrees!
Always a nice hike
Nice short but fun hike. Tougher for kids but my 3 year old still finished it. About half a mile down.
Theres beautiful scenery on the way to the trailhead and a parking area. We actually couldnt find the entrance.
Absolutely beautiful
Rocky. Incline. Nice falls.
As my lady says. Never take me up here again when Im pregnant, but I would say it was the best bumpy ride of my life
So peaceful
One of Tucsons most fun little hikes...
Nice mourning. Or a day trip
There is a half mile hike down to the stream with about 300-400ft change in elevation. Trail is a bit steep in some spots. If the water is flowing, there are many nice pools which some people and many dogs like to swim in. Lots of great desert vegetation and canyon landscape.
Lovely placeLittle adventurous for first timers
This is my get away. I love this place
Super fun trail to do but make sure you have water. This seems a given since it is Arizona but you would be surprised.....
Best hiking I have ever done. Not an easy route but well worth trekking to the end!
This is a great hike and well worth the drive to get here. There was barely any water when we got to the bottom, and there was no one around. We read that its generally regarded as clothing optional at the falls, but since we didnt see any one else, we cannot confirm.
