A nice Diamond Resort International property in Tucson. Although 2 bedroom is smaller in layout, is still an upscale place to stay. Very friendly folks ready to help you with anything you should need.
Nice room. Nice pool. They have a game room, ping pong and pool tables, but it closes at 10 pm.No restaurant, no bar, no breakfast, not even complimentary coffee (although you can make it in your room)If you stay on the street side bring ear plugs, the traffic will keep you up.If you’re just looking for a nice room, this is it, but you can get it cheaper somewhere else.
Clean rooms, nice staff.family loves it, wants me to sell home and move here, of course answer is Nope!!but, great place to go...
Positive: The staff is Amazing. They go above and beyond. Thank you
This place is fantastic. The staff is kind. The rooms are big. The balcony was nice. Super clean and we will definitely be staying again and again.
Pool is great, room is large, channels far better than normal. Staff is very, very nice. And Im writing this review because I cant sleep because the traffic noise is absurd. Like sleeping under a hot dog cart next to a freeway level absurd.Ping pong, etc us great for my kid, but the traffic noise is just an absolute deal breaker. Awake late and awake early. I can hear the individualized engine health and rattling loads of each vehicle.
Well-maintained hotel. Ive stayed at three other hotels during this pandemic. This hotel, by far, is thorough about maintenance. They kept to a schedule and routine. Someone is always going by and wiping, polishing, spraying common areas. It was a pleasure to hang out by the pool.
Positive: Large rooms, pool area Negative: TV stopped working. Remote in bedroom stopped controlling TV
All I have to say about this place is that its absolutely amazing. Ive have stayed in many places and I am a very honest critique. By far the service, cleanliness, and precautions being taken to stop the spread of COVID 19 is their top priority. Once you enter the lobby its even more amazing there are so many things to do. It is a gorgeous facility and their fitness center is amazing, the pool area is beautiful the Sports memorabilia interior design is absolutely genius and extremely entertaining. The layout of the Room is beautiful, and spacious. Intelligently put together down to the amenities inside each suite. Housekeeping does a very good job leaving these rooms immaculate which are also equipped with every detail any guest my need. The spa and pool area are fantastic, resident parking with security a putting green, pool table and a life size chess board and much more. This is a truly very private pleasant getaway I cannot relay how pleased I am with this location I honestly do not plan on checking out anytime soon great job!!!!
Comfortable accommodations in a good location. Access is a little tricky due to adjacent street configuration. Pool area is very nice and shaded in late afternoon. Staff was very friendly. We would definitely again.
Excellent service, a variety of accommodations such as a large pool with jacuzzi, a mini golf track, billiards and more. The rooms were beyond expectation and a great price. Only place Ill go from now on while in Tucson
Even with the gym and eating facilities closed, we still had an above-average stay. Roving security in the parking lot along with security cameras, great front desk customer service, and nice rooms. Tip: be sure to ask for an inside room, unless youre unaffected by outside street noise. Worth looking into.
Very well kept up. In downtown Tucson so close to a lot of stuff but we took the car. Comfortable bed and spacious living area.
Amazing staff!!!! The best for sure. They actually look and act like they like their jobs. Place is very clean. Its a very welcoming experience. You feel like you are home . We stay as much as we can. Also washers and dryers done cost. So that just makes it that much better!!
I was visiting a friend staying there. the front desk clerk was very rude and informed me that i had to call my friend and have them come let me in..she could have been more helpful, more polite and definately had a better attitude towards a visitor to a guest. I know ill neve recomend them or stay there myself. i will add that th place was clean, well decored and large suites
The staff was extremely pleasant. My husband and I made a 17 hour trip and arrived early and they allowed us to check in early without any extra cost. They do charge credit cards an extra 100.00 for possible damage after check out. It is refunded if there is not any damage. The only issue I had was that some of my clothing was taken while in the dryer, but staff was willing to check cameras to determine who may have taken and continued to apologize for our inconvenience. The room was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others also.
Positive: Staff was nice and professional. The room was excellent and the price was perfect.
Very nice set-up with a good range of amenities, kitchen utensils and free usage of laundry unit. Liked the spacious bathroom setting (actually 2 rooms) and the large bath tub
Positive: How clean the hotel was. Especially in my room. Staff was friendly helpful courtesy. Negative: Thereâ€s nothing I can say negative or bad. I always enjoy my stay at the varsity
The staff was grossly unprofessional. The security guard, specifically an older white haired gentleman, harrased us constantly, filming us on our balcony and even locking my friends INSULIN in the pool area during open hours. The front desk manager David was wildly disrespectful and inconsiderate in his handling of the situation. The place is decent but definitely the worst serviceIve ever experienced. Would not recommend to anyone.
Great place for the family to stay while in Tucson. Suites were ample, kitchen and full size fridge are perfect for longer stays. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location if you have a car, not much in walking distance. Only thing to make it better would be an indoor pool. Too cold at Christmas even though the pool was heated.
Fantastic made me, my children and my grandchildren feel very welcome.
Clean & friendly staff. Enjoyed the spa & pool. Just the right temperature.
Family stayed there and they loved it.
Great placeGreat priceClean big roomsStay hereYou will not regret it
Positive: Big rooms, quiet. Negative: internet has gone in and out all week. Strong smell of Marijuana from 2nd floor balcony rooms and this is supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel
Great place...big rooms. Had to change review after staying there this past week.Internet did not work for most of our stay.. Strong smell of Marijuana almost every day coming from 2nd floor that made my room smell. Thursday night Front desk agent refused to hand out equipment for us to play pool or ping pong because she had a headache and the noise would bother her. We had to pay a 16 resort fee every night for access to those activities. Normally the staff goes above and beyond here. This hotel does not offer, water, juice, tea or coffee. Much cheaper hotels in area offer complimentary breakfast. And dont charge resort fees.
Great hotel and staff. Arrived for a late check-in, after driving several hours, at 0300. Linda, the receptionist, was so helpful and kind. She had our reservation paperwork printed and keycards made before my arrival, making check in only minutes long. The room was absolutely gorgeous! Our room on the second floor had easy access, was spacious and brand new looking. Overall it was a great stay. Amenities were generous. Small store on-site. Heated pool, jacuzzi and a game room for kids and adults.
Lots of fun at the pool, the room is extremely comfortable and the staff is accommodating.
Great place to stay. Great staff. Very clean and spacious. Best amenities in town. Great location. Close to everything!
Positive: That I asked for my room to not be cleaned and they did not come inn my room Negative: It was hard to get in the hotel or have a key made at night when the lady that works the desk seats in her car all night smoking
The staff is kind of stuck up. They wouldnt open the bathroom for me while I waited for the rest of my party
Positive: The room was spacious and had a kitchen. Loved the bathroom, had a open shower. I had a studio. Definitely coming back. I liked that there was a pool table etc. in lobby. Clean and beautiful. Decent location near malls and good times. Negative: Currently No
There wasnt cable in the bedroom. The trimmer came at 630am with their saws and chipper, that sucked. Maybe use bleach to clean because there also some small bigs in the kitchen
Its criminal Im not allowed to give it 10 stars. Beautiful, huge, clean, modern rooms. Amazingly friendly staff that will accommodate ANY need you have. I cannot recommend the 2 bedroom suite enough, its literally the largest 2 bedroom apartment youve ever seen! FREE laundry 24/7, full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, cookware, dishes, cutlery, tile floor for kitchen and bathroom and carpet in bedroom and living room. HUGE bathtub, dressers, fans, floor lamps all contemporary. Pool table, ping pong, foosball, putting green, outdoor chess, heated pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, beautiful common area with table top chess and backgammon tables. There is no reason to ever stay anywhere else for the price!!! But the $15 a night resort fee is something that does suck if you arent expecting it. Last thing I expected when checking in for a 2 week stay was an extra charge of $210 on top of the grand I had already paid, and the additional $100 refundable deposit they hold to your account. No breakfast offered, but you are literally across the street from McDonalds. This place will leave you raving to your friends and taking pictures to brag about, especially if you pay for the upgrade!!
This is my first time in Tucson and I couldn’t ask for a better hotel. First off, it was very cheap. For a 2 night stay in their upgraded room with 2 private bedrooms with a king size bed in each, as well as a kitchen, the total price is the same as I would get per night in a small hotel room anywhere else. The place is very clean, spacious, and the furniture is nice. The staff here is also amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Tucson area.
Very nice property. The desk people were quick and helpful.
Love this hotel, has never disappointed. My 5th time staying here. Rooms are great bed is nice and the pillows are to die for. So much so I pulled the pillow out to get name brand and try to purchase.
Very family friendly. Activities like mini golf and swimming pool were open until 10:00 p.m. check out time was quite early - 10:00 a.m. Room was clean and comfortable.
This hotel was def an eye opener--. Clean, well kept, and the staff was very professional.
Supper friendly amazing views nice pool free laundry nice in room kitchen great location great getaway
Positive: Large rooms, pool Negative: internet did not work. Front desk worker did not want to give out pool balls and ques or ping pong equipment. Said she had a headache and the noise of us playing pool would make it worse. Yet we paid resort fee to have access to those activities.
From the time we booked online and called the Varsity. Its been an awesome experience. Tried to get an early check in had a lil bit of trouble getting the early check in. It was quickly taking care of and more then made right. Staff was very professional and treated us with respect. Staff is why ill stay here again and at Varsity Clubs of America if they are in the city im traveling to. You can bbq, swim, and party! If you want to just get rest and relax you can do it here to. Very pleased with my experience here. I would and have already told my friends to stay here!!
Clean, friendly, and in a fairly good spot to be close to everything.
Positive: Very clean, great staff. Negative: Right on a busy street. Grab a room in the back if youre a light sleeper.
Best Hotel I have ever stayed in!!! It is more like a high end condo than hotel. I Highly recommend varsity, exceptionally clean, large rooms and a solid staff.
Outstanding hotel with fantastic staff and perfect amenities. First time guests, and will ALWAYS search out for any future hotel needs. Clean, exceptional, 2 bedroom suites are equal what weve had at other resorts for $300 a night or more. Stay here, w you will never stay anywhere else.
They had outdoor grills. The bath tub would not drain faster than the shower. The shower head had just enough flow call it a shower. The shower is built for someone less than 5 9 . Be prepared to bend over to wash your hair. The paint in the bathroom is peeling. They call this a resort so they can charge a resort fee of 14.95/day. Its not any better than a Marriott Courtyard. At least at a Marriott Courtyard you get breakfast. The hot tub seating iks built for people 6 or better.
We always have a fabulous stay when we are here. Handicap accessible rooms are spacious and easy to move around. The two room suites are perfect for having guests over instead of always having to go out. Activities, pool, laundry facilities and a gift shop. There is ample parking as well, although, not many handicapped spaces are designated. The staff is friendly and always work hard to resolve any issues that may arise.
Superb suite! Clean and modern with a well stocked kitchen. Had an issue with the sink(previous guest) which was corrected that day. Great view of the mountains! Only downside was the traffic noise.
Good and I dont have anything to say other than that it met my expectations.
Lovely place room is nice, cool, and very comfortable!! Its my home away from home!! I LOVE IT!
Simply put I loved it. I will definitely go back. Staff very friendly & helpful. The suite was nice. They thought of everything, even the hand soap had a nice fragrance.
Great staff and amazing rooms, just need a lounge and it would be perfect
I would recommend this resort. The room was spacious and very clean and modern. The front staff was very friendly and accommodating. They answered all our questions about the area and helped us in deciding what places to travel to. Thank you for an excellent trip!
Clean, well maintained facilities. Professional, courteous staff
Second best place to stay in Tucson. If it was a extended stay i would be there right now still.
One of the nicer places Ive stayed since Ive been in Tucson. the staff is very courteous and helpful! Unfortunately I didnt take any pictures. they have some very nice clean rooms. I will get pictures next time.
The best thing about this place was the bathtub OMG it wasthe rooms were awesome as well they were spacious giant bed it was great little mini kitchen little frigerator pretty cool, but it had an awesome bathtub and for that they got 4stars
Positive: I liked that the hotel staff was understanding of my request for an early check in..after a long drive all I wanted was a clean hot shower and I was checked in within 15 mins.!!! Negative: Honestly..because my stay was so pleasant, I would have liked check out to be at NOON!! other than that, there was nothing I disliked about this hotel
This hotel is horrible and the staff are even worse. Absolutely avoid this place if possible. Do not stay here
Free pool table.;good fitness centre-cleaned daily;heated swimming pool;very good spa tub;2 very clean bbqs.good wifi.front desk smiling and helpful;easy parking;fridge,stove top;dishwasher,microwave.
Varsity Clubs of America was a fantastic place for us. Friendly, helpful staff, especially Jazmine! The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated and their pillows are luxurious. This is a well equipped location with all the amenities of home. Private and quiet is what we enjoy. Thank you.
Its convenient, very nice employees, very clean. Were ALWAYS there. Its our home away from home.
This was a very nice stay in every way but one. The street noise is deafening. The hotel is located on Speedway at a busy intersection, and it seems that most residents of the area are determined to accelerate as fast and noisily as possible whenever the light turns green, even at 3 or 4 am. I would suggest that the hotel put more soundproofing on the glass. I had to plug up my ears with tissue.
Clean, great staff, love the pool and game room!
Love the very spacious rooms, the very large bathroom, the modern decoration, the fully equipped kitchen, the hard flooring in the kitchen and living area, but carpeting by the bed.
Great place. Sweet people. Theres a great entertainment area with pool, ping pong, chess, and mini golf. A must stay place!!
Centrally located, free parking and laundry facilities. Friendly staff. Nice pool area. Clean rooms.
Nice place, enjoyed the pool area. Clean, and service staff courteous.
Great customer service. Very convenient for our stay needs in Tucson
Nice staff and place was beautiful
Rooms are clean and well priced. Very comfortable stay
The staff at the front desk was incredibly helpful, pointing us to places to visit and great food. The room is gigantic, and well-appointed. Everything you need for an Extended Stay or a luxurious weekend.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Love the property location to U of A.
We love Varsity Clubs of America and stay here often we love the 2 room suites they offer the perfect amount of space, and the amenities in the suite like the soaking tubs are amazing. They also include a kitchenette to prepare meals like we would at home.
Varsity Club I n.v Tucson can always be counted on for a well appointed, nicely furnished unit. Located in midtown Tucson its close to all Reas of Tucson and a great place for family of UA students to stay when visiting. The staff is always cordial and accommodating.
Nice room. Not much to do nearby. Fine if you have a car.
Im amazed about how big the rooms are for the price you pay. It is now my favorite hotel in town!
The room was great the people were good but the hidden fees are unacceptable
Best place I’ve stayed in a long time. Most comfortable bed ever, very nice and cozy room with everything you need besides groceries. Bathroom, bedroom, entertainment center quality, good WiFi, and amazing customer service! Excellent top quality establishment and worth every penny. (I travel for a living and go from hotel to hotel all year... so the fact that I took the time to actually mention the quality and satisfaction...says a lot)
We had a great visit. Reasonable prices and a super clean room. Loved having use of the the pool table. For a place that focuses on athletes, a surprisingly tiny exercise room. One treadmill was out of order, limiting the already small selection. Otherwise a great stay with friendly staff.
Great hotel with really nice rooms. Clean, and up to date. The rooms facing the road can be noisy, though. When booking online, make sure they dont charge you taxes or fees you already payed for when you booked. They tried that with me.
Nice place. Lovely rooms with full kitchens. We had a balcony overlooking the pool. Would be a great place for coffee or drinks, but the weather was very cold. #romantic #cozyUnlike the sedona diamond resort, there are no salespeople claiming to be concierges, so a much more pleasant experience.
No hangers for skirts. No offer of a toothbrush when I left mine at home
Great place. Great staff. Central location
Pretty nice place to stay. Comfortable beds and pillows. Quiet place. Very friendly workers (everyone) Ive ran into during my stay so far. Would be great to have a little more selection for hot beverages in the mornings such as hot chocolate and cappuccino. Or a Keurig machine in the rooms instead of regular coffee machines. Other than that its a great place to stay. Gas station right across the street has variety of coffee, hot choc, cappuccino, ect...so not a big deal. Thats why still 5 stars. Knives definitely need sharpened though...lol Forgot about that, my mom was trying to cut a tomato last night and it was just getting smashed. Would barely even cut an onion. A dull knife is a lot more dangerous in the kitchen than a sharp knife.
Clean, pleasant staff, nice pool, putting green, good experience.
Great hotel and great staff. Stayed here multiple times and will again. Weve only had one issue and the staff was quick to remedy the situation. Its not about just having a stay without issues but how fast someone can resolve it and when they did, we knew we found a good place. Simple gym, decent pool and hot tub, and recent renovations making it an even better place. Also simple stuff for yourself or kids like a pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, and putt putt. Also washer and dryer available that we always use the night before we leave so we dont have anything to worry about when we get home. Located pretty center to East and West Tucson and a good price. You wont regret this place.
For me, it was a great spot for my overnight. Staff was courteous and helpful, small market on-site has basic toiletries available. Very spacious suite, nice grounds and pool area. Parking is monitored by on-site security and free of charge.
Amanda was amazing. So sweet, helpful, and appreciated even if she was rooting for the wrong hockey team! Thanks for all you did!
Was eaten by ants and charged tree for room deposit
We stayed one night before my surgery and it was the best hotel that Ive ever stayed in. Ive stayed in the Blu that cost more money and that suck compared to this one!! Keep up the good work!!!
The rooms are spacious with a beautiful view, nice patio with chairs and tables to enjoy the view. Nice location near the malls and U of A campus. Only problem elevator was broken when I went.
Wow! Pool, hot tub, margaritas & my best friend
Positive: No maintenance issues, everything works and is correct in the suite. VERY happy not having to call the front desk to get something fixed/replaced. The beds and pillows are very comfy, even the towels are nicer than other hotels. Fridge & freezer!! Negative: There is no restaurant, or even Continental breakfast, on site. Front desk staff told me the restaurant was taken out. Its inconvenient to have to find a place to eat breakfast each day before starting the daily activities.
