In current times I was curious how a hotel/resort would truly be able to follow health guidelines; Hacienda Del Sol exceeded my expectations and set the bar for any other resort. The staff were vigilant in mask use, cleaning and keeping guests and themselves safe. Guest services could be reached anytime via text for anything; room service, pool side drinks and checkout to list a few. The staff was welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. Special kudos to Ethan, the bartender at the Catalina pool for making a variety of great drinks including one of the best mojitos I’ve had. He also made sure everyone had water anytime they needed it in the heat. This is hands down my new favorite place to stay in Tucson.

Beautiful grounds but I still cant believe I paid over $350 for what was a converted dormitory Room from when this resort was a girls finishing school. The fitness center is a total joke. See picture.

Amazing. The view from our room was breathtaking. There is a saguaro right outside of the balcony of #73 with a backdrop of the Catalinas. We watched a pair of Gila Woodpeckers feed their young.During the evening there were dozens of Nighthawks putting on an aerial show. I loved the night sounds of the coyotes, crickets and birds.The grounds are amazing. Cool sculptures and loads of beautiful gardens. A photo opt at every turn. The pools were inviting. The families at the pool were loud with sounds of fun.We chose not to dine here this time. We will next time, the food smelled good.

The place is nice and well cared for. Unfortunately the room we stayed was at the older part of the resort and the room smelled like mildew. The bathroom has no ventilation. We could hear everything outside our room.. Probably due to poor insulation since it is an old building.The staff was great. We had a great dinner at the Tarazza restaurant. Food was fast and tasted great. Breakfast was a different experience. It took awhile before we got our drinks and even more before we got our food. I would recommend staying at the new part of the hotel. I think it would’ve been a much better experience.

Beautiful place, but missing a star because they didnt have a microwave in the room. When I called in the morning to get one, it took half an hour for one to arrive.

Wonderful ambiance.While we did not stay at this cool boutique hotel, we enjoyed sunset cocktails from super friendly bartenders and then had a great dinner. We ate on the covered back patio and had a great and attentive server. The gnocchi was amazing. My linguini with lobster was a bit dry and the noodles needed a few more minutes in the pot for my taste, but the flavor was excellent. Prices were on the higher side, but you are paying for the ambiance, which is worth it if it’s a special night out.VictorB

I love it here. The food, atmosphere, scenery is amazing. The desserts are phenomenal. Highly recommend to anyone looking for that rustic feel.

We were very happy about the location, ambiance, pool, Ian, server at the pool, an amazing dinner at the terrace and all of the other employees at the hacienda. My only complaint is I killed 4 various bugs in room 3 and one of the beds is quite old, saggy and squeaky. Every time I changed positions the bed squeaked. I did not have a good nights sleep. Update the mattresses and do your best at pest control and I would definitely return.

This place is so beautiful! Such a great resort to disconnect. I cant say enough about this location. They also have a text messaging service that I suggest using. The pools are both amazing. The view of the mountain took my breath away. The staff was incredibly kind. I also suggest walking the grounds and visiting the shop. I really enjoyed my time at Hacienda. Also the jazz band was incredible!!

Love love love this place. What a hidden wonder. Absolutely awesome staff and its just a real gem in the desert, hiding in plan sight. I will be back every time Im in Tucson.By the way the food was outstanding! Also they have Tiki Tuesdays!

We visited the Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch over the Thanksgiving holiday and what a wonderful experience it was. Coming from the cold rainy Northwest we thought that maybe we would have a little bit of warmth and sunshine, but that was not to be the case. However, the rain, cold, and wind did not ruin our good time, and the Hacienda provided mini warm cozy areas to hang out in. The grounds are Immaculate and well-maintained and just beautiful to walk around. The staff is excellent and at the ready with any requests you may have. The surrounding area is just a wonderful place to be and a visual gift for the eyes. Our room, a beautiful Suite was not lacking of anything at all and just perfect. I guess the only thing that I would say is that the food was not quite up to the standard that I would have wanted. It wasnt horrible or anything like that, it just wasnt excellent. The Thanksgiving brunch was quite expensive and we thought the food would be extraordinary and instead it was just really an ordinary quality Buffet nothing special. In spite of that, we hope to be able to visit again one day. Thank you Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch!

The facility and rooms are absolutely beautiful. The views are beautiful as well. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. We especially love all the on site art and landscape. The cocktails were excellent as well. We ate very light but it was very good. Overall a pleasant surprise we will return to.

Set against beautiful desert mountain scenery, the spacious room was comfortable and had a magnificent view. The grounds are a spectacular cactus garden. Two excellent restaurants, live music. Ill definitely be back!

Very cute little place. Great alternative to a big chain hotel. Pools are a bit small. Staff was very accommodating. They lost a star due to cleanliness. We spilled something on the wood floor and used a towel to wipe it up. The towel came back very dirty. Floors clearly are not cleaned thoroughly. Our feet got dirty walking barefoot around the room. Best guess is the area rug in the room has never been cleaned either.

This is an amazing resort but trust me a lot will depend on what room you get. We ended up upgrading to a Catalina room/suite because I was not happy with my original room. Trust me you want to be in one of the 60-100 buildings. Outstanding service, nice Infinity pool and overall great location.

We whent for the mothers day buffet, everything was perfect.The service at the table was A1, the drinks at the bar where just amazing, the food was fresh, and the variety was great. The history of the place is just amazing.We all loved how they kept it has original that they could.

Wow this place was delicious. The live music was awesome and the serving staff was excellent. The atmosphere was a great dining experience I would highly recommend this restaurant!

The restaurant part is really upscale. The service is impeccable, the food is great. The bar area is more low key. Still, really good drinks and amazing service. You should stop there at least once for sure. If you dont want to try the food, come at least to see the venue.

Excellent facility for vacation / work/ conference. Beautiful and scenic surroundings., with modern rooms. Friendly staff and great food. Away from the usual rush. Uber services available ., but I recommend your own car while at the facility and to drive around in the town. You might be able to see some wildlife around the walking trails and a bit of caution is urged on the part of hikers.

Wouldve gave it 5 but the restaurant was plain and bland in taste with a very little menu to choose from. Other than that everything else was excellent and the cherry on top for me was the ability to go mountain biking. Beautiful views. Awesome stay

My family and I had a nice time here. Their was a few issues which really didnt bother us much but in all it was a nice and well needed break from home! With their wonderful restaurant, two swimming pools and beautiful landscapes we are sure we will return some day soon! Except for an employee by the name of Brian, we would like to thank the rest of the staff here for being so helpful and courteous!

Such a neat experience! Our server was excellent, and there were little surprise courses between ordering and courses. Walked the grounds afterward, learning about the history of the place - cant wait to come back to actually stay at the hotel!

It was amazing! We stated in a lovely suite! It was like a little house! Stuff were amazing! Words can’t explain! You must see it for yourself! If you like history and Southwest feel! You’ll love it!

We love attending Mister Bings Supper Club at Hacienda del Sol, so we decided to make a weekend of it. Dinner at the Grill, Sunday brunch (if you arent still full!) and a fantastic show with dinner and dancing Sunday evening. A great way to get into the Christmas spirit! Oh, and a bobcat kitten visited just outside our window, too!

Easily one of the most cosy and cost effective resorts to stay in the best location in all of Tucson. Its so charming that i dare say it would be one of the first places i would like to secure as a compound if the world were to go into marshall law and the apocalypse were to happen. But until the world comes to a shattering halt and we are warming our hands over the flame of the dumpster-fire that Trump has rendered America into, I just love hacienda and honestly couldnt say a bad thing about it. Old pueblo style with just the right amount of modern touch and amenities. I honestly feel nostalgic and full of glee just stepping foot onto the property, To me Hacienda is a must go if youre in Tucson. I insist.

Very nice, authentic, resort in Tucson. It was once a school for girls so it has an interesting layout. The restaurant is fantastic for both breakfast and dinner and breakfast is a great deal as most dishes are in the $10-15 range. There are two heated pools and hot tubs. Excellent venue for a wedding. There is a daily two complimentary drink program at the pub as well. Consider staying here on your visit to Tucson!

Was just driving through Tucson and came by this place by chance. We loved it so much we delayed our road trip to stay another night. This is truly a magical place with the most amazing staff and customer service. I will never stay anywhere else in Tucson. The views are unbeatable!

This is a fabulous place to stay. The staff is amazing along with the food, views, gardens and decor. If you want a retreat, this is the place to go.

This place was perfect to take maternity pictures! We got numerous shots right before a monsoon rolled in. Staff walked around giving smiles even though we werent eating there.But we did spend our anniversary here so it holds a special place in our hearts. Beautiful grounds if youre wanting a colorful environment to spend a couple hours at! Food was out of this world!!! Cant wait to go back again! Definitely reccomend making a reservation, there are numerous rooms where you can request special viewing.

I had my wedding here. It was simply beautiful and amazing. Laura took care of so much. When there were problems they fixed it quickly and managed to still do everything I wanted. I could not think of a better place for my big day.

What a treat this place is! We are local Tucsonans, but have been sheltering in place since late March, and needed 4 new walls to look at. SO HAPPY we chose Hacienda del Sol! We stayed in a Catalina King Suite with the outdoor shower. The shower is over-rated, and honestly gave us the creeps listening to our neighbor shower during our AM coffee...but the room was SPECTACULAR! Bartender David was the best surprise of our stay - working on sommelier cert, he is AMAZING! Let him make you a drink! And the grounds are gorgeous. Just the best!!

Gorgeous resort. The casita rooms are well appointed. Big room including bathroom. Wonderful views, art work and decor make this a very relaxing environment.

The resort is very pretty! Our room was luxurious and beautiful. My only “complaint” is that the pools are really small and fill up if there are only a few people in it and our room view was of the parking lot which wasn’t great. Wonderful stay otherwise!

Hacienda dek Sol is a wonderful place. Visiting during the time of COVID, I really felt for the staff. The place is really slow right now. Everyone was so friendly, helpful. The food was great, as you come to expect at a place like HDS. The pool we visited was EMPTY, so for the first time in my 20 years of visiting this resort, I felt like I was at a (very wealthy) friends house, swimming in the twilight.I want to commend the ownership and management for their continued employment during this very difficult time. Service was excellent. Here is a sixth star, one for valor.

This is the nicest place i have ever stayed- the room was very large with great amenities- my husband and i each had our own sink area in bathroom- the large deck had a postcard view- it was clean spacious and luxurious - the staff was fantastic- everyone was so helpful and you could tell they also loved the place- the furnishing were comfortable and beautiful- there was fantastic sculpture everywhere- my favorite is a gigantic big man with a huge red glass heart and i wanted to take him home . the restaurant was first class with service and food. the only issue was i did not want to leave. by far the best experience at a resort i have ever had ! highly recommend.

The staff were wonderful! Friendly and attentive. Really made the trip. The food and drink service by the pool was spot on. The rooms are nice and the bed was super comfortable. And the grounds are full of hidden treasures. I’ll definitely be coming back!

After my grandmothers graveside service, we had her celebration of life at the restaurant. It was a last minute affair, as these things the to be, and the staff was absolutely spectacular!! When we went in to ask for a room we met with Brad their coordinator and he helped us with everything from room to menu to wine selection for a toast. Waitstaff was busy with us, but always polite and friendly. It absolutely felt like everyone went out of the way to make things perfect!! Lunch did take a little longer than expected to come out, but thats what happens when you order from a menu at event with 25+. I cannot recommend Hacienda Del Sol enough!!

Gorgeous Art throughout this historic hotel, in a beautiful setting.The staff are very accommodating and friendly.Price for some of the older rooms are difficult to justify.Amazing food and drinks!

The location and views are beautiful; the rooms are large and comfortable, some with patios and great views. Beds comfortable, bathrooms well laid out.Restaurant (we did not eat in the Grill) is poor. Amateurish service, food quality mediocre, long waits when there arent many guests. Upon arrival no one offered to help with our luggage; we were directed to the parking lot near our rooms and then left to our own devices. This wasvery odd, given the extremely high prices at this resort.

One ice machine for half the resort put shade on my drink making when it ran out!

Best brunch for Easter I have had, the kids wanted something different and not chaotic. Their bottomless mimosas were a delight along with all their dishes! I’ll do that again. Price isn’t cheap, but neither is the place or the food. Excellent cuts and amazing presentations. Delicious!

We went to Hacienda del Sol for Happy Hour today. Sat at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and engaging. We ordered a appetizer that was seriously under cooked when delivered. The bartenders replaced it immediately and bought the final round of drinks. Could not have done better with a marginal situation. Lemons to lemonade.

We had a luncheon there with 24 people, it was a celebration of life for my wifes grandmother. Beautiful setting, staff was friendly and food was delicious. It was a great way to have send off for the family. This is a view from the court yard.

If you’re going to be in town for a few days the hotel is top notch. Views from many of the rooms are outstanding. Added bonus: horses!

Hacienda del Sol is a historic resort with beautiful grounds, wonderful views of Catalina mountains, great horseback stables, rustic rooms, fantastic sculptures on the grounds. We loved this resort and will definitely return.

Martin at the front desk was extremely nice and professional. Unfortunately I did not complete my stay. The 2 bed room I booked was actually unavailable when I checked in. Martin tried to offer me a room with a king bed and a sofa bed, but One of my daughters was too frightened to sleep in a separate room than me. The rooms do have an extremely old western feel, which I was ok with, but the kiddos weren’t used to, which added to the discomfort in sleeping in a different room than mama. There was a bit of a dusty, mold smell when we walked into the room as well, but it was probably because the AC was off in 100 degree weather. Again, Martin did what he can to try to resolve the situation, but the accommodations were unavailable. The appearance and views on the property were beautiful though, so it is unfortunate we could not stay.

We loved our stay at Hacienda Del Sol. Beautiful room and the food and service was fantastic. You will not be disappointed.

Great bday staycation spot

Fantastic dinner on the patio tonight!

Hands down best dinner in a very, very long time. Absolutely everything was top notch, from the valet service upon arrival, to the views, and the excellent & attentive waitstaff, and the delicious, fresh and flavorful entrees, and amazing wine. The waiter gave us a complimentary taste of the French pear brandy to enhance our dessert experience. Next time Im in Tucson, I hope to dine here again!! A real treat.

We had our monthly ladies luncheon on the patio. We were given a guided tour of the property along with a bit of its history.My salad was tasty although could have been more substantial. My apple tart dessert was sublime.

Beautiful Resort with exceptional scenery. The food is excellent.

The ranch history is amazing. The casita we stayed in was nice but, for the price we paid, I was surprised that there was so much in need of repair. The hot water in one shower didnt work. Half the light switches didnt work.The casita had a fireplace but the flue hadnt been cleaned in so long, a fire wouldnt stay lit in it. The stable where horseback riding is offered was in poor repair: The deck where you wait had a huge hole in it and the canopy overhead was moldy and half ripped off.I could keep going but I think you get the idea.The saving grace of the place was the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. My only issue there was how hard it was to get anyone at the front desk and in the kitchen to pick up the phone.Each time I had to call the front, I got the answering machine and had to call back two and three times before someone picked up. The kitchen never did answer when we wanted room service. The front desk had to help us with that.

Absolutely amazing! Nothing bad to say. Food and drinks are superb. Scenery is unprecedented. People are wonderful.

Had my wedding dinner here and nobody was disappointed! Service was extremely professional! We rented the Historic Library and it was perfect! Everyone received their food at the same time and everything was delicious! The wedding cake was also amazing! Ive come for their Sunday Brunches for years now, and this was my first experience with dinner and we loved it! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to celebrate an event!

One of the most beautiful places Ive ever stayed. The staff, the restaurant staff, everybody, is amazing and very friendly there. I highly recommend this place for a stay to get away from it all.

Very nice, peaceful place in the Catalina foothills. Was converted from a private school. Now all rooms have names of celebrities on the doors. Unique perspective lace. Food and beverage selections are numerous. They also have a piano player in the outside dining area.
