Its small, but improving all the time. Home to live shows and quirky movie choices. And, of course, it is the primary venue for Tucsons indie film gem: the Arizona Independent Film Festival. Enjoy a tasty beer on tap, catch a film you wont see anywhere else, and get a chance to talk to the filmmakers!

The movies shown here are great and the location is fantastic. Empire pizza is right next door. The theater itself leaves a bit to be desired. The seats are very uncomfortable and the projector sits in the middle of the floor on a stand. I literally sat next to it one time when I was there during a film festival a few years back.

Small theater so every seat in the house is a good one for screening.Have bar and fresh popcorn all reasonable .Staff friendly located on Congress across from the now closed Chicago Music Store.

Wonderful venue. The building has been lovingly converted into a cinema that captures the atmosphere of a much earlier time. It harks back to the golden age of cinema, halcyon days when a trip to see a film was an event. The facilities are bang up to date though, so you get the best of both worlds. The staff were a delight and knowledgeable about films, which added to the charm of attending the venue. The films screened are as eclectic as the events held there and all the better for it.When you travel abroad, visiting a cinema isnt something youd usually think of doing. Most multiplexes are so similar you could be in any country, but The Screening Room is absolutely worth a visit.

One of the hidden gems of Tucson to get your film on. They host a variety of festivals and screenings and bring classics and funky indies to downtown Tucson.

Small but a great place. They feature independent, cult and classic films we all love. They showed my senior thesis film there a few years ago. There was a great turnout. Definitely recommend for the film buffs!

Had an excellent time with a friend. The bartenders were super nice and the three bands were all pretty good. Obviously, they are local and young, but this is how they hone their craft. The selection of beer and wine is very limited, and not the best, but its a screening room, not a bar.Im very happy to support the local music scene and local musicians. Im much older than the average attendee, and I did feel a bit out of place but thats on me. I still had a great time

This is such a quaint venue. Totally enjoyed myself this evening! I found out about the Screening Room from Tucson Weekly, my grandaughter was visiting and I wanted to find something fun to do with her. She wanted to read her poetry and sing a song from her favorite opera, this was the perfect venue for her to display her talents! We enjoyed the food as well as the entertainment. The Screening Room is a rare gem!

The seats were spacey but the building needs updating. Still a great place to visit depending on what is going on there.

Its a pretty cool place to see a show. Intimate setting that pulls some cool people. My major complaint is that they corral all of the 21+ year olds into a pretty confined space during the shows.

This is the scene of the Arizona Film Festival, taking place throughout April 2016. Its right in the middle of downtown, on Congress near 6th.You have to lower your expectations - the seats are old and on a flat floor (not stadium seating), there are 2 one-hole bathrooms, and the films dont really start on time. But its good that theres more than one place in Tucson to see independent cinema.
