Went here to pick up my grandson cause my son and his fiance are playing in the disc golf tournament. win win
Perfect day for golf on a city golf course. Course is well maintained and very well staffed. Greens were nice and sow were the fairways.Prices are good for 18 holes of golf. We were fortunate enough to be able to go in and allow us to get a quick tee time.Staff was friendly and efficient, golf pro gave us a couple of pointers and made the game a little easier. Will definitely go back during this great weather.
This turned into a most pleasant December afternoon. The combination of efficient course management with extremely kind attendants is wonderful! The Dell Urich fairways are immaculate for a December public course, and the yardages are challenging. The Par Three #7 was beyond reproach and my Eight iron approach....The tee boxes are adjacent to most greens and you can complete nine holes in two hours. This is an LPGA Tour stop and a must stop for the visitor.
Great staff and super gracious of them to host Disc Golf. Hope this becomes a permanent course.
I played the North course this morning on July 1, 2020, and it was in the worst shape that I have ever seen. I have never been so disappointed in the condition of a golf course. There was no advantage in hitting the ball in the fairways, when you are left with a 2nd shot to the green off of dirt and mud (devoid of any grass). In my opinion, it should be closed until it is deemed as playable. At the least, the personnel in the pro shop should make the golfers aware of the condition so that they can make a decision on whether to play or not.
Love the driving range. Great prices
Nice wide open golf course right in mid-town Tucson. Expert golfers probably scoff at this place but for us occasional and beginner golfers this is a great course. Lots of grass and trees and even the rough isnt that bad - you can usually get a good clear shot if you can find your ball. Some long par 5s keep it challenging for the better golfers. A nice course to walk if its one of the cooler months.
I love both of the courses here and have played them for many years. Currently, I have to say that the fairways are in, and have been in very poor shape this summer. I played Crooked Tree today, and the fairways were outstanding, as were the greens (bunkers there are another matter). Not sure what the deal is at Randolph, but it seems like they just skimp on watering. There are patches of fairway that are literally just dirt. Disappointing given the increase in rates for morning golf.
Awesome course in the middle of town! Good prices and greens are in great shape
Very enjoyable golf course! Great topography, challenging green complexes and the putting surfaces were well maintained. Some bunkers are thin, others are very playable. All in all a great value and a must play course if youre in the area.
Friendly service. Course is in good shape.
Fairways are being aerated in many places. Greens are ok. Bunkers inconsistently super hard and or soft. It was hot.
Great practice facility in the heart of town. Reasonable rates, and a fun layout.
Fabulous round, grounds are in great condition good pace of play
Got a chance to get out for 18 holes at Randolph North. The course was in good condition and is always a good time.
Great time! Not busy atall.
The course is in fair shape. The fairways are cut too close. The sand traps need serious maintenance. If you’re going to charge a premium during prime season, do a better job maintaining the course. Do yourself a favor and play some of the other public courses in Tucson that take pride in the overall condition of the fairways and sand traps.
Great course. Well manicured greens. We enjoy going mid week, generally not super busy. I always appreciate the helpful staff!!
Decent course with a great price
Always loved this course growing up, but unfortunately they have let it go despite charging higher green fees than most other city courses. The lack of sand in bunkers, the unfair speed of the greens, and the allowance of 5-hours rounds with no Marshall to help keep things moving on the weekends is very frustrating. Hopefully they will get their act together and make improvements to justify the high prices!
A fun course that seems to be busy but not crowded. Im definitely a beginner and I think its not too challenging but the gr
Fairways had a lot of dirt patches throughout but a plus was the greens were cut down lower than last time, very firm.
The course is in excellent condition.
Have been playing Randolph/Del Urich for years and have always enjoyed my time. Courses are great fun and the staff has always been cool. The reason for this review is mainly because of my most recent experience. I was using my wireless earbuds to conduct a business call before my last round and inadvertently left them in the cubby of the golf cart after the round. I called the course and left my name with Josh in the clubhouse, not really thinking I would hear back. Two days later he reached out to me and said that they were found. Just want to say a big thanks to the caddy Loudon for finding them and turning them in and Josh for calling me. I have lost many items while playing golf in the past and this is the first time I have ever recovered anything of value. Keep up the great work!!
Seems like all city courses are currently nice since OB sports has taken over.
Damn good time!
Pretty golf course!
Like the course however very unorganized. Alot of ppl cutting in line. Very rude people who can not wait there turn. Be careful golf balls flying everywhere. Been there about a dozen times since i moved here, 4 times a arguement.
Very fun and cheap. I come with my uncle like once a week and we have a good time.
Andrew and Pete in the shop great guys. Some guy named Robb who sits in the back and has zero personality and zero people skills. He is worth a good laugh
Course is in good shape. Pace of play is slow though. Backed up foursomes for all 18. I guess it’s to be expected with cheap rates on a city course. Would definitely go again. Maybe midday on a Tuesday though.
Love to visit here
Thats the best Ive seen Randolph North Course in such great shape Fairways with manicured nice greens for running good all in all it was a great day playing Randolph North
Driving range is always a fun time! Cheap buckets of balls to hit - enjoy!
Always enjoy playing Del Urich Golf Course.
Great track, in pretty good shape considering this is water saving Arizona, and great views. Enjoyed walking it as a nearly seventy-year-old. You can do it!
Always happy using the driving range here. Balls are not plentiful but good driving range for sure with full buckets at 7 bucks a piece. Course is a great city course.
The range said no chip shots this time of year but Im bad. However nobody yelled at me when I buried my driver into the dirt for the tenth time. 10/10
Good corse, but need to be accurate with your shots
Greens were very good. If the fairways werent so wet that you picked up mud on almost every tee shot, this would be a 4or 5 star course. Layout is fine, especially considering a major part of the design is to capture monsoon rain run off. Its just hard to enjoy a round of golf where you are unable to really control your golf ball because of the amount of mud in it. I play in a traveling club that plays for a good deal of money every week, therefore we adhere to all usga rules.
Slowest pace of play Ive ever experienced! I had 3 hours until a meeting and couldnt even finish 6 holes! Theres gotta be a way to speed some of these people up. Maybe dont let groups of six golf together! Just a little common sense wouldve made this a lot more enjoyable. Course was decent, just like any other city course around.
If U love the game its a challenging course, grate greens, T-boxs & fairways, they have friendly staff, course Marshall & beverage cart that comes around also a really good club house to njoy bfor ur game, bfor the start of back 9 or after to sit back tally your score cards while njoyn a cold one
This course held LPGA tournaments for years, so it is worth playing for the nostalgia factor alone.
Golf course was in great shape, fairways and greens were beautiful. The course was very busy but we moved along pretty good. Hope we get a chance to play here again.
Greens could be better.
The greens were way too slow today otherwise the course was in good shape.
Nice course, friendly staff and plenty of trees which offer shade on hot days. Very forgiving course because its wide open and not a lot of rough areas.
If you want an overpriced, decently located example of how out of touch the Tucson city council and municipal services are, this place is for you.
Doesnt appear that they had enough grass seed to overseed. My favorite City course when in good condition. It isnt now
Love getting in my 10,000 steps a day here. Btw, have recently seen people using nets to take turtles from the big pond. That cant be legal, right?
Convenient restroom on a favorite cycling route.
Always a pleasure to play golf here.
Fairways and heights rough is horrible greens are fast as lightning
The course is great Im just not very good at golf
Course is in good shape. Good food in the cafe. Play can be slow but probably because its so popular.
Very good condition, fair but challenging.
Course is in good shape but they absolutely need a marshal and a starter. They stack T-times 5-minutes apart. You can expect 10-15 minutes in between shots. They also attract low to no skill learners who are all over the place. 18-holes is a grueling 5-hours or more. Yesterday we were in the #1 T-box and an older lady drove right past us, and physically ran into the ladies box on #1 and hit! 4....yes 4 shots later she was at the 150 marker. We were in the box for 20 minutes...day shot to hell. No marshall or starter to put her in check and she had no T-time.. Its better to play Sewailo where theres a 12-minute spread between T-times and a starter to manage people. Its a shame because the courses are in great shape. Just need to be better managed. By the way; walking is great if you can hit a ball. Otherwise please go walk in the mountains. I cant count how many times Ive been stuck behind walkers hitting their ball 50yds a shot from one side to the other on a nice stroll while serious golfers lose their tempi and focus. While Im at it...keep the damn drink cart out of the fairway! Weve been held up 15-minutes several times while clowns bought booze right in the middle of the fairway. I actually gave up and sat down in the fairway. Talk about a tempo killer.
Love this place... so free to swing away as you please at the driving range. I just picked up golf a few months ago. Today was my first time going here, and had no clue what I was getting myself into haha, yet everyone was so friendly!
Great experience and staff!! Thank you!
This Golf Course is a really nice golf course. It is all in pretty good shape except for the Sand Traps. The Sand Traps need more sand. It is really hard to hit a ball out of a Sand Trap that has no sand. If this was fixed these would be excellent Golf Courses.
Love you RANDOLPH!!
Great place to get your walk on at
Course In good shape. Staff very nice
Nice city course. Very affordable. Usually in good condition. Maintained by a friendly staff. Not challenging if you know what youre doing. My 30 handicap means I dont know what in doing. So its a blast. Nicer driving range than most.
Nice Muni course. Little water. Sand bunkers. Nice greens. Links layout. Some repetitive holes. Well maintained. No desert along fairways, unlike many Arizona courses. Flat. Nice clubhouse. Decent carts although gas powered. Beverage cart. Not overly long. Reasonable prices.
Best municipal in Tucson. Nice park golf where you can slap it around and not get punished like desert golf will do to you.
These are the best two Muni Courses Tucson has to offer as of Aug 2017. Has day and night driving range, lessons are offered at fair rate. Food and Beverage are available at the restaurant and the cart service always seems to be right around the corner from you. Staff is always friendly. Put it on your list if you havent played it yet or if you are visiting Tucson and want to get a round or two on a card. Beginner, Youth, and Senior friendly course of play.
Longer and flatter than the adjoining Dell Urich course, the Randolph course is a solid parkland layout, albeit without the undulations and earth mounding of its neighbour. The reasonably wide and flattish fairways and the absence of rough under the trees ensures your ball stays in-play and playable most of the time - the few holes with water hazards are probably the most challenging.
Andrew and Pete in the Golf shop are always very friendly and efficient. Rest rooms are very clean. The carts are always ready and clean. The golf course is in good shape and very playable. Pace of play is under 4 hours.
Greens are nice. Fairways are thin. Lots of bare lies. And as always pace of play is slow.
Course is getting prepped for overseeding and the price was not reduced. Bad, bad, bad!
Have only played delicious Ulrich recently but was in great shape for a Mini course.
Better course than Randolph North
Best municipal golf course in Tucson. And good food at the 1925 Grille.
Friendly staff and fair prices.
Well-maintained driving range compared to most others in town.
It is good but high prices I think
Good golf and amenities!
Very nice city courses.
Greens need help and lot of dead trees but the set up is good.
Pretty decent course. Greens very fast. No marshal seen and play was slow.
The range ball mechine always seems to be having issues. Either you get charged twice and 2 buckets when you wanted 1, or it is completely inoperable. For being one of the most popular ranges, I would think that they could get it working.
4.5 hrs. for 18 holes on Dell Urich...little slow for me and not crowed at 11:30 the off. Course in very good shape..just got behind two twosomes....seniors. Enjoyed day.
Serves the best onion rings in town
Nice fair course it was a great day to bond with nature. Met some nice gentlemen from Colorado.
For the highest city course prices I would expect the same level of conditions, but havent been the last several visits, so I will spend most of my money at Fred Enke Golf course instead.
Come play here! BUT City of Tucson, in this day and age I cannot believe guys dont have a 9 hole walking rate. I had a 2 hour window to play, wanted some exercise and Im forced to pay a 18 hole w cart rate. Granted the pro gave me a deal, but 22 bucks to walk 9 in the dead of summer is outrageous. As play of golf is down nation wide, courses need to get creative and encourage play.
Two 18 courses there. Both in great condition. Play was not slow or fast. Club house nice and clean. Beer a little expensive.
Nice city course and nice club house, just have old style gas golf carts no ice chest, ball washer or GPS but they do have plenty of ball washers at tee boxes though. I always enjoy playing there.
Great golf complex. Great price, either course.
A fun round with friends on a beautiful course and on a beautiful day. Nicely kept!
