This is my all-time favorite park. You can but you will see deer when walking along the trails. I recently went here in the fall, and was able to take videos of deer about only 100 ft from me. They are not afraid of people here because its a great sanctuary for them. Theres also a nature center that has different classes for children and adults.
Very well-kept grounds and a variety of trails though the woods - some wooden bridges, some compact dirt, some wood chips. Rouge River runs through for a nice natural water source. There are plenty of benches along the trails so youre never without the option to sit for too long. Handicapped parking available and though its not paved, I feel like a good wheelchair would make it across most trails with someone pushing.
We love walking the trails, such a peaceful experience and fun to look for wildlife. Trails are well marked, and there are several to choose from of differing lengths. Do wish the very short, paved path was a little longer so I could bring my elderly mom in her wheelchair. Still, a real gem in Troy.
Its so beautiful here, its a great trail for all ages. You can see many different types of animals. There are multiple different trails all different lengths. The center itself is also very fun, theres multiple things to do. The buildings activities are mainly for younger kids but older kids can still enjoy the activities!
Best place on earth. great trails to walk or run. nice river and benches. trees good for hammocking
First time visiting with a new friend. We both really enjoyed the trails, how well it was kept up, how friendly the staff was. We will definately be back. It was a little treasure found not to far from home.
It was great..Friendly experienced help inside nature building .and lots of animal mounts..Outside man made rocks for kids to climb..and trails to walk..peaceful..
We enjoy walking the trails and watching the deer.
Cool spot for a nature lesson/hike. The staff was very helpful and informative, and we actually saw quite a bit of wildlife on the hike. Fun place to spend an afternoon. Lots to see and do here. Will definitely come back soon.
Love the trails especially all the wildlife back there
Very nice trails in the woods on a hot day not so hot.
This place is great. We did a winter trail walk with the family and some friends. There were lots of people out doing the same. Saw lots of wildlife including 2 deer. Great way to get out in nature close to home.
Great place to come for a walk. Its a little escape close to home. The classes offered in the Nature Center are perfect. Its a mini winter wonderland that the kids will love. Plenty of deer around to watch.
This place is awesome and very well taken care of, from the nature center to itself to its many walking trails. We saw deer for days in a short 1 and a half mile hike and loved looking at the maple trees that had actual maple syrup containers that can be rented and used to make your own real maple syrup. Great place and a hidden gem that we have never been to.
The trails are open from dawn to dusk, even during the winter. Really enjoyed our winter walk around the grounds. Saw many deer, turkeys, and birds. Highly recommend if youre looking for somewhere close that still feels very natural/woodsy.
Great value. Safety precautions taken.
Very cute trails.
Always get to see deer here. The Blackbird loop has some nice little hills to give the calves a little challenge. Trick and Treating event today. Sounded like kids were having fun. (I wasnt aware there was this going on.)
Great walking trails.
Beautiful, well kept nature!
Nice outdoors place
My favorite place to walk near home. Has great nature trails. You can see deer, turkey and even bats here in the evening. The hiking trails have multiple biomes all within a slow, hour or so long walk through the woods. Fun to bring kids or partner or both. Generally pretty quiet, passing just a few people. Load up the trail maps on your phone for a better understanding of the layout.
Beautiful nature area! Trees, deer, turkeys abound in awesome natural habitats. All kinds of wildlife and insects to see also.
I come here when I want to feel like Im out of the city. Nice and woodsy area. I just wish Troy had more of that.
Just an amazing place to stroll and enjoy deep woods, right in the middle of a city! You can see a lot of wildlife and birds. Can easily spend 2-3 hrs exploring tje trails.
Took my daughter here to earn a Girl Scout journey badge (instead of taking several months to complete during Girl Scouts its completed in 1 day). The staff is very nice and informative. Lots of wildlife to experience (we seen a few turkeys and a whitetail deer). Theres also trails to walk.
Great little lesser known nature center tucked away in the northwest corner of Troy. Everyone here is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Weve taken our kids here many times for camps, classes, or just a nature walk. One of the best treasures of Troy!
It was nice, needed somewhere to take my kiddo, while his sister had a Girl Scouts event
Great place to be outside during the outbreak
Lovely little spot. Nature center has odd hours and wasnt open but the outside was will maintained and they offer information on Michigan native plants.
The kids enjoyed the animals, dress yoga and animal games. The also like being able to see the inside of a bee hive and play in the Rouge River.
Excellent park. Been going there for a few years. Great place to walk after a hard day at the office.
Great place to relax.
Peaceful awesome place.
Good place
Dont forget to visit the owls! Wander the paths to see the deer and turkeys. Bring the kids.
It was so nice
Great trail!
Great place to walk, love going there with my girlfriend and just strolling the trails. Plenty of deer to see.
Looks nice from the outside.. unfortunately we drove 40 minutes to find it closed. Thats something that should be put on the website. Very disappointed 6 year old.
Awesome. Went for a 5yr olds bday party. We had an owl party. Very fun & informative
Serene setting with many deer and wild turkeys.
Great nature trials, however, three week appointment to see owls, which we went to see!
Very beautiful view and nice place to have a walk but some trash cans were full and there were even trashes scattered everywhere.

This place is awesome. Well worth the visit. Especially with kiddos.
A serene, beautiful swath of land that covers several biome types like grassland, forest, and swamp, Stage Nature Centers trails are great, albeit a bit muddy in places.Should you arrive before 4pm, then you should take the opportunity to check out the nature center building. The staff is generally friendly and the collection of taxidermy animals is pretty impressive. There is also an interactive display with local animals that is fun and educational. There are a few downsides, though. The other patrons walking the trail can often come off as unfriendly; the sounds of helicopters, planes, and traffic permeate the tranquility at times; the audacious greed and aesthetic ignorance that lead to a long row of houses being built right next to the nature center that are painfully visible from many parts of the trail; and the aforementioned muddy areas which can be tricky to navigate on foot and nearly impossible to roll a wheelchair or stroller through. The bathroom is in the building, which closes at 4, so heads up.That being said, Stage Nature Center is worth your time. Ive been coming back since the late 90s and have always had a great time exploring and discovering all that there is to experience.
Great day here at the nature center! Saw over 40 deer and they werent skittish at all!
Such a nice walk. Lots of wild life.
What a beautiful park. Nothing like this in Iowa. Enjoyed the day.
Awesome place great for kids they have live animals small ones of course they have stuffed animals as well tours gift shops and right now they have there tours on how to make maple syrup from the trees just got home bought syrup made pancakes syrup very good
Lovely place to go for a short to moderate walk! You will be very likely to see deer and sometimes even turkeys!
A neighborhood classic. Its serene, enough to make you forget what city youre in.
The mighty Rouge runs through Stage Nature Center. Well worth the visit!
It is a nice quiet place to walk and see some deer and birds.
Was hoping to go with my girlfriend according to the times listed on google. Thursdays around 6 its not usually too busy well thats because its closed and its hours are from 9am-3pm. Dont make the same mistake I did! It seems great for kids because unless you take work off or go on the weekend, they are the only ones that can go:/
Nice walk
Out guided tour detailing maple syrup harvesting was very informative.
Amazing peaceful
Lovely little trail
The Troy Nature Center is a great place to visit for people of all ages.
We took your of Troy Nature Center. Got doughnuts and apple cider. We even got to crush and press our own apples.
Serene space right in the middle of city.
My first time there and it was great clean and great service
Nice nature park
Hidden gem, and a very clean place to connect with creation and its Creator. I pray that it stays as nice as it is for this and future generations to enjoy.
Great place to relax in the woods. Bikes and pets not allowed. As a result, there are lots of deer here. Bring a camera.
Love this place. Such a sanctuary for me.
Great space great programs
We love our evening walks through the nature trails. Tonight we spotted 5 deer, 1 turkey and an unidentified bird of prey.
Love the walk looking for animals
Our guide Debbie was GREAT with the kids. Very very patient and knew her stuff.
Great walking trails. Lots of deer
Walk the trails there, the wildlife is amazing.
Great place to go with the kids and lots of activities set up by the center.
