For just $5 each your kids can easily spend several hours playing in the museum. There’s lots of interesting exhibits, interactive play and a play area for toddlers. My kids ages 2-17 all had a blast. The older ones even joined in the fun in the dress up play room. They also have live pets in the back. This is a great place for rainy day fun!
Went to the show at Discovery place with my kids. They had a couple of Tesla coils creating pictures synchronized into counterpoint and harmony. They play the William Tell overture, some piece by Beethoven, and dueling banjos. The kids and I loved it. Then we had fun looking into other things at Discovery place. There was a build your own marble run exhibit, and a few more fun things like that.
Unfortunately many of the activities and exhibits were missing crucial parts ... No metal nuts for the magnetic nut bridge... No balls for the which way will the ball roll exhibit etc.. The highlight was supposed to Be the Tesla Coil demonstrations... But during our visit they had a make your own fairy garden activity in lieu of the Tesla demo.. So the visit was fairly disappointing... I would rate it lower but from a kids perspective it was fun anyway and the sound wall was pretty cool
Had my little princess 2nd birthday party here. It was fantastic!
Dirty, poorly staffed, items in poor condition. The only hi-light is the musical wall. They can and should do better for the children. Disappointing.
This was the third time my wife and I had taken our grandchildren here and it was very boring. Several of the most interesting exhibits have been removed instead of being repaired. There were also a group of children running loose with no supervision. The kids belonged to the staff or were possibly Babysat there. I know we will not go there again.
For $5 dollars you cant beat this deal. There is not much inside but if it isnt crowded it should entertain younger children for around an hour or so. I would gladly pay mor per person if they would give indication of improvements the price increase was going towards.
Fun for kids from 6yrs to 11yrs of age.
Velvet and her granddaughter made this a trip to remember!! They are SO KIND AND SWEET!!!!!!
I went to the Harry Potter events and it was awesome! I love the people and the environment there.
We love this place. Weve been to tinkerfest every year and it just gets better every time!
We went yesterday as a birthday treat for my son. The museum was fun and my son had a blast. His favorite things were the sound wall, the probability exhibit, and the dress up area. I was disappointed that some exhibits didn’t work but my son didn’t care at all. Overall great experience though.
We discovered a wasteland. Waste of money, so dirty, stained, unsanitary, just over all scary. We didnt even make it 10 minutes in there. We took our son out of there before he caught something.
This place offers interactive exhibits and toys for a variety of kids ranging from 3 years on up. They have some neat dinosaur exhibits to see, but these are hands off. Most of the exhibits are very dated and show their age. Some of the toys and parts to different things are missing.I guess for the price it isnt bad. Expect to spend an hour here. Probably not worth a repeat visit
My kids love it. We have a year long pass for 4, it was fairly cheap and includes free entry into at least 2 museums, weve been to them. And kids enjoyed museums as well!
I was awesome experience. i would highly suggust going there.
Great place for birthday parties and their weekend workshops for kids are always fun! Friendly staff and fair prices for all the museums connected to this one (Texarkana regional history museum, Ace of Clubs house, PJ Sheen house and Discovery place) events such as weddings can also be held at both of the house museums! My 2 year old loved our first visit and I probably had more fun than her as a 26 year old haha the Tesla coil show was the best part!
My grandson had fun. He is 2.The art by local artists was my favorite part. The dinosaurs and music wall was Fords favorite.
We spent 3 hours here with our kid. The best part in my opinion was the tesla show.
The 3 staff members didn’t take the time to even talk to us. Most of the exhibits didn’t work. I’m not sure who would find this educational or entertaining. The kids didn’t enjoy a single part of it.
I took my stepson here during his spring break. He loved it and I loved that he was learning while having fun. I was disappointed that not all the stations were working or some didnt have all the parts to work correctly.
Go see the Tesla show you will not be disappointed. take ear plugs!
There needs to be a resident membership that is cheaper so that you can get more people in there. Its decent and has several sections of fun tinker toys.
A large portion of the exhibits were not working or parts were missing . Very run down and did not looked cared for at all. We were all very disappointed.
My granddaughter had a blast at the museum. She loved the sound wall, the soft building blocks, the open piano, and the dress-up room.
Good local spot for kids!
They help boy scouts earn their badges they make learning fun for younger kids they have boardum busters for fun and it does not cost am am and a leg they have tesla coils here too it is a must for all ages on this
Great family fun with the kids
Great place to take the kids
Dirty surfaces, dried mud on carpet were a distraction with some of the exhibits. Felt more like the place is getting run down and unable to be maintained. Kids loved it anyway.
Staff is extremely nice! But very outdated inside. Not much to do. But its somewhere to let kids play on a rainy day. We need more for kids in this city.:)
Its an ok place. Most exhibits are very old and not user friendly. Only attraction I would go there for is the Tesla exibit.
Its okay. Not bad but nothing to write home about
It has been let go do bad I could not believe it
My kids (4 and 5) loved it.
Fermi show is a must see, a bit loud for young kids. Five year old like so much we go a year membership.
Worth the trip to see/hear the musical Tesla coil!
Not much to see or do
Nice for maybe a 3 year old.
Need some maintenance
Went there with my grandson and had a good time
All the signs said the place was open but the doors were locked and some girl yelled at us through the door that it was closed. We pointed out that the sign said they were suppose to be open, she just shrugged and gave a snotty sorry.
This was very small and disappointing. The museum should be free. It was not worth $5 entry fee.
Tesla coil is super cool, but kids seemed to be bored with other activities.
Tesla Coil Show is fantastic!!
Very run down. Not worth going to.
Dirty
Everything for kids is hands-on, and you can stay all day .
Fantastic staff, great, engaging displays
Tesla experience was interesting.
