I had to be in Texarkana for work & was looking for somewhere to fish when I finished. Found this gem on the map & decided to check it out. Launched my kayak at the boat ramp & spent several hours on the water. Absolutely gorgeous lake.

The absolute feeling of safety when you walk or bike around the trails. My family spent a couple of hours walking through all the winding trails in the forrest and around the lake finding new paths each turn we went. There were also hidden doors and faces built into random trees adding a little fun to the trip. There is also a nice playground setup and fishing dock as well.

The park is great and they have done a ton of work out there over the years and it shows. It is well maintained and taken care of. If I had any complaint at all it would not have anything to do with the people taking care of the lake in the park it would be against all of the idiots out there in their giant bass boats running a hundred miles an hour across the water... It is supposed to be a no-wake lake but it is never monitored by the game warden or anything of that nature so everybody comes out there and runs full-speed. On top of nearly turning your boat over when they come by due to the wake they leave the waves Slam against the sides all the way around because the lake is so small and it tears up the banks.

Possible gem of Texarkana, all by charity and nothing by the state, could be the greatest testament to a town that states, Twice As Nice.Local business could basically chip in and become recognized, like the benches and such at Spring Lake Park.Ever been to Arkansas Botanical Gardens?Bringle has such a high degree of potential, by the people, not driven by profits, but to its glory.

It is an alligator lake with signs and everything! No swimming ... I would be cautious as I took my teens (boys) specifically for alligator spotting.

Arrived on June 11 at 5:00 in the morning to go bass fishing with my dad. We get there and the only boat ramp on the lake is closed down, confused and curious, I Google the lake being closed and see that the lake is closed to the public the whole weekend for some kind of festival that nobody has ever heard of. How convenient. Bringle lake management sucks, I guess this lake is ran by some kind of yuppies that believe they own this lake and can just shut it down for whatever reason they dream of, what kind of festival needs a boat ramp for a whole weekend anyways.

This project has made Bringle Lake an even greater town treasure--one that still surprises locals who visit the improved lake and its surroundings.Bringle Lake has parts of its volume in a tiny and quiet community that many natives of Texarkana know as Wamba, Texas. Other parts are in or in the immediate vicinity of the Texarkana city limits.Residents also know Bringle Lake by another name. Some residents still refer to Bringle Lake as Waterworks Lake.Cook out at various locations with public accommodations or reserve the pavilion(s) for private or group use. Ample parking at all main entrances.Boat access to these waters is made by way of Richmond Road to Wamba, Texas, where a right turn taken from North Richmond Roads strongest, hard-cornered curve leads eventually through the woods to alongside the banks and on down further to the familiar, old boat ramp, just down from the spillway. Its waters are home to a variety of bass and other game fish, including crappie and catfish. Locals enjoy fishing the lake in boats and from docks and shore-side, as many folks have done for years.NOTICE:No swimming! No wading! SERIOUSLY,NO SWIMMING AND NO WADING HERE due to real dangers of alligators in the water (and areas around the lake).Be advised that native alligators made the lake (and wooded places surrounding Waterworks Lake) their home decades ago, or longer, and the population of these alligators, as apex predators, has since only increased. While you may not see one of them at all, they are there. They should not be overlooked. Nor warnings disregarded. They can be stealthy, and, for example, they may hide at the murky bottom of the lakes waters, refraining from rising for air for a quarter-hour, or more. So, please be cautious and alert, and stay aware of these dangers at all times. Do not swim. Do not step into the lake water, even briefly. Watch children at all times and teach them about these dangers at any opportunity--long before any tragedy strikes...Although I know of no incidents of alligator attacks on anyone here to date, lets observe the appropriate respect for their existence here and be mindful at all times for the real dangers the presence of alligators represents. In keeping with that, and keeping it that way, please keep your pets leashed, and stay on top as you constantly attend to their safety, just as you should your own safety.A paved path winds its patrons alongside the lakes edge, through the otherwise natural wilderness that borders the lake. Public bathrooms are available here, too. Day use areas include places to grill and cook out, with some covered, open-air pavilion facilities, and free day time parking spaces.
