What a wonderful hidden treasure! I was so surprised at all the history of our region thats tucked away in this awesome museum.
Not even open when call them they hang up
I came here with the Student Support Services at Texarkana College, and I was amazed at how this place was. The main level was the train museum with a downstairs area for the gift shop, even though the gift shop was not much. Just above the railroad museum on the second level is the Old Town Museum with how Broad Street use to be in the 1900s. Some of the doors will not open, but there is a saloon that can be used for meetings. The only bathroom in this place is in the railroad museum. There should of been another one. Great experience overall. I would like to visit the other museums in this town as well.
What a waste of time and money. Dont bother. Train sets were plain, with no landscaping whatsoever. No effort to add realism like grass, sand, water. They just put the store-bought trees on the flat plywood, with no effort to make it realistic with plaster or painted landscaping or lights. I had a better train set in my bedroom when I was 10 years old. They need real train lovers to come volunteer to help with landscaping.
Pretty cool they made the stairs so beautiful its a must go see
Rich history put together by folks who love history.
Really neat place to go and learn the history of the area.
Interesting collection of rail transportation memorabilia combined with reconstructions of downtown storefronts. Tours are usually conducted in conjunction with city festivals and events. Definitely worth a visit.
Enjoyed touring the Lindsey Railroad Museum. It was very informative.
Great place
