I didn’t like what I ordered but I loved the appetizers. I’m going to be back and try out another dish.I had the Tennessee hot with bleu cheese. Turns out I do not like bleu cheese lol. At all!Artichoke dip and red pepper hummus- yes try it and you will love these. The taste was just so refreshing and crisp. The artichoke, I could have ate a whole plate fullMy friend had the meatball slider and she loved it. I took a pic of it too!And for checking in on yelp you get some pretty tasty fries with bbq and chicken!
This place is pretty bad. They sell “5$ mixed drinks pitcher” but it’s actually 1 shot of alcohol with a bunch of sweet juice mix. So you just get a big sweet $5 pitcher. Useless and misleading. And it’s dirty. Probably a college place for young people... but at least you know what to expect.
Had a less than desirable experience at another riot group restaurant. Received a gift card to try again, so here we go. Me and wife ordered dinner and drinks. A little on the pricey side but if its worth it then its all good. Unfortunately it wasnt. The service was slow and rude. My dinner order was wrong twice and my wifes was so greasy she only ate half. So we go to settle the bill. I present my gift card for half the bill, it didnt have anything on it. So safe to say I wont be going to anymore of riot groups establishments.
We just stopped for some cocktails after checking out the triathlon event. Great selection of drinks, little spendy when you get the signature drinks, but delicious. Looks like itd be a great place to meet up with friends for a night on the town as it looks to have game options such as beer pong etc.
When we showed up at 6:00 pm and there were only two people in the place, it should have been our sign to move on. The service was terrible. The happy hour food is cheaper for a few items, but they give you smaller portions than the regular menu. The drinks had a very small amount of alcohol. The food was pretty good, definitely nothing special. The bathrooms were gross, with rolls of toilet paper on the counter to dry your hands since apparently they were out of paper towels. There are much better choices in the area. All six of us said we would never consider returning.
The place is cool, lots of games and a fun time to hangout with people. Except.... the dj looks like hes worked here for 10 years lost most of hearing and has no understanding what its like to not hear anything that doesnt reverberate in his sternum. The sound takes away from the fun, you cant talk and joke with your friends. You are here to drink and they enforce this by destroying conversation. I get it.. its kind of a club. But Im here at 2:30 and cant hear myself with only 4 people in 30 feet of me.
The glasses were dirty, and no napkins. The bartender was non attendant. But the bar back made up for it. He was amazing.
Arrived 11 AM on Sunday, with plans to attend Beautiful at Gammage. Picked by the birthday daughter. I didnt like the sauce on the meatball slider. I guess it was tomato, but tasted no where near marinara to me. Boyss burgers were ordered medium rare but werent. The big surprise was at the end -- none of us noticed the fine print on the menu where it turns out they charge a 3% Tech Fee. Then when my wife complains about that, the manager on duty claims its for the extra cost of Arizona labor due to the higher-than-federal minimum wage. I can get that, but to call that a tech fee (if the manager was right) is a bald-faced lie.On the positive: they did have lots of amplifiers for the sound system, and the customer-wifi worked.
The burger was good! Just that it didnt look like the picture (as thick and scrumptious). But I enjoyed the high tech atmosphere and the cashierless ordering screen.
Best spot on Mill! Great beer selection. The manager, Brad, made sure we were well taken care of.
Terrible service. Wrong drink was given to me. Had to tell the server 3 times and it was only captain and coke nothing crazy. The bill was inaccurate had to be sent back. Food was meh.
I love this bar!! Great environment Good food and great drinks!! Definitely always a great time here!!
If you want an okay experience overall, definitely go somewhere else. Service, management, drinks all fail. Good name on the bar, everything inside was horrible.
Always a fun time. Great food, decent prices.
Great service! And the food was really good.
Food was good. I’m just not a huge fan of the vibe.
Decent place. Big inside. Theyve got an area for cornhole and a good sized bar. An average selection of whiskey. They had a 75 cent wing special and trivia tonight. The wings were pretty good and the bartender was pretty on point. Wouldve given them 5 stars if there was one more bartender on and if the silverware, menus and the glass that I was served a shot of whiskey in was clean. Also, a shot of whiskey in a place called Whiskey Row shouldnt be served in a plastic shot cup. Especially not a dirty one. However, the bartender corrected both when I pointed it out.
Not a place to go for dinner. Grab a beer maybe. Slow service and inexperienced servers. Wont be coming back. What a shame such potential. No body told us names and we didnt feel wanted there.
Went to have lunch before a Sun Devils basketball game. Service was terrible. The waitress was helping a new staff member while I stared at my drink sitting on the bar for 15 minutes. The new staff member was filling water cups. I also saw a group of 10 come in wait 15-20 minutes, get no service and stand up and walk out with out being noticed. They get a couple stars because the food and drinks were amazing when they finally made it to my table. Management: staff appropriately before sporting events when you are an eatery within walking distance of a stadium.
The space is nice, but musical choices not my jam.
My wife and I sat down and waited for staff to order our food and drinks, but they never came so we sat at the bar and there we were served and they tended to us well. So I recommend sitting at the bar if you want good service. Also the food was really delicious thanks to the Cook.
We came from Colorado and were very eager to try this place out. The beginning experience was fine:however, they did not play any country music. We also requested ranch with our meal. Our waitress did not check up on us 20+ minutes after our meal was delivered. We requested her assistance and she brought us blue cheese instead. We had to wait another 10 minutes for her to come back to let her know it was Not ranch. We waited another almost 10 minutes for ranch, so by then our food was 40 minutes old and cold and ultimately the service was horrible.
First time I came it was legit. End of night if felt like the dj was trying to get people to leave. Now its a busy Saturday and my ears are totally messed up I only spent the last twenty minutes here. I spent 4 hours at another club before this. Please hire a professional sound guy. I am ashamed for you guys. 3.5 if I could, I see a lot of room for improvement.
The food from the kitchen was great! I had the whiskey burger with fries. Everything about it was will made. The bar staff could be a tad more attentive. I ordered a bourbon on the rocks. The bartender held up the bottle to show me he had it. Then I waited for 10 minutes for them to pour it. A different bartender had to get it. There was another mix up with my food, but it worked to my advantage. But someone else didnt get an order of fries. Their attention to detail isnt great, but the experience was ok.
This place is ok. Service is nice, atmosphere is so so and drinks are good and strong, but kind of overpriced.
I was very disappointed by this bar. I heard they had a dance floor and was looking forward to country dancing. I even called ahead of time to make sure the website was right about the country dancing. The guy on the phone said yes!! We went down around 8pm on a Saturday night, dinner was good. The waitress said the dancing starts around 9:30-10pm. They had to clear the dance floor of tables. We left to kill some time. We came back to country dancing at 10pm heard 2-3 songs and that was it... the country party of the evening was over.. The bar turned into go go dancers and pop music.... seriously the waitresses were all in thongs and dancing on tables..
Great service and good food a little loud but still fun.
Great atmosphere and vibe! Staff was good friendly
This place is just downright fun to spend a Friday or Saturday night at. Its usually pretty packed but still feels like you can move around. If your on Mill, highly recommend you check it out!
Good food and atmosphere. Tempe is a great place to be.
Honestly to give them the benefit of the doubt we went in on a weekday and it was deader than dead! The service was questionable and not at all what we expected....
Visited on 1/11. The bar staff( a girl and a guy) seemed uninformed about the whiskey available and didn’t offer a rock when we ordered a decent label whiskey with a rock or two. The next night we stopped in for an after dinner whiskey and Robert was behind the bar. He knew exactly what was on the shelf. He offered an actual rock with our whiskey. He was knowledgeable and very courteous. Our group will be asking for him on our next visit to Tempe.
The bar is wrapped with 1 bartender. The server won’t take drink orders. It’s Spring training maybe staff more than 1 employee?
Plenty of space for dancing, talking, or playing games on the patio. The bathrooms are cleaner than most bars because a security guy manages the line and its a great solution. The only downside is that its an outdoor bar so it is HOT. They need better air circulation. Or maybe thats how they encourage bar sales!
Had a blast. Wanna get crazy and dance on the booths. This is your goto
Fun back patio with games but can get insanely packed inside so its hard to dance or drink without trodding on someone else
Wonder if the smoke detectors work, because there was no alarm and lots of smoke machines being used. - Dylans roommates weird friend.
Bartender Alanna was absolutely perfect! She made my experience here very enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and had a down to earth real personality. I wish every bar on Mill Ave would take notes on how to be very nice/professional as she is. Will definitely be back!!
Husband loved his burger. My artichoke dip was very tasty. Good atmosphere
Waited for 20 minutes to get a drink and ended up leaving. Tried to inform the bartender (Blonde) that our server left and she ignored us. So disappointed. I liked this place but it has gone downhill.
One of the best places ive ever been to!
Great bar/club I highly recommend it for a night on Mill.
We decided to enjoy a Sunday day drinking and ended up at the whiskey row in tempe. The waitress in the afternoon was fantastic but when she switched shifts with Eve it went downhill. She chose to hang out at the bar and conversate with her friends or regulars. We had a table with 8+ and we didnt have service for 15 to 20 min. Finally she came and asked and we stated we wanted to leave. She chose to go back and point us out to her ladies at the bar. I saw thus because she pointed us out. I chose to point bacl so she knew we saw her talking about our table. long story short I will not go back. Fat Tuesday has me on service! Phenomenal!
Fun place to go. The drink prices are rather high and the music is loud so be prepared for those. But the atmosphere is always great
The bartender was less than knowledgeable of the menu and drinks and to top it off very little personality. She swares more than most sailors. Its a good thing you cant screw up beer but do not waste your money on the food. I ordered the stake salad and got an enormous salad with 4 small pieces of steak for 14 dollars. I would recommend Jack in the box over this place unless you want over priced beer that you can get on every corner around here. The difference is the other places have better service and food. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!
Flavorless, random green stuff on my chicken, nasty brocoloni. Absolutely disgusting.
Hoping for a fun country vibe and experienced the complete opposite with rap music and bartenders wearing lingerie
Service was not the best and not a very good selection of food!
Food is good. Service is good.
Stopped by to watch the game and sat down on the patio as the hostess told me there is a server back there, after sitting for an hour I noticed the server who’s name was Logan serving people around the area. The longer I sat the more I noticed she was only serving what looked to be her friends and was ignoring other patrons. I tried to flag her down only to be met with a forced smile and ignorance. This is the worst server I have seen in a while, completely lacks customer service and common decency.Update: 3 weeks later and no real resolution. I was apologized to over and over and promised a gift card (that never came) I don’t really mind about that but nothing has been done about the service. It doesn’t surprise me that I’m seeing increasing recent negative reviews about the service. I will not be returning and will not recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a meal and drinks. My 1 star review stands.
I went in with a few friends to grab some beers, food, and enjoy some country music. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE. Simon was our bartender and he was really great and entertaining. The atmosphere was fun and the music was exactly what we were looking for. The selection of beers was impressive to say the least and the food was great. 10/10 would recommend
Came here expecting country music, not the case on a Friday night. Was still fun, but the name is misleading
They play very good music and the dance floor here is really awesome. Its one of the most popular ones in mill avenue
Music playlist: country, pop, country, pop, country, pop ect. Excruciatingly awful. Over priced beer.
Food is terrible. The taste and the presentation is horrible. I also had a beer a hot beer everything about this place sucks I will never come back even if I get free food for life here I travel all over and I can say this is ones of the worse places y ever eaten.. I wouldnt even rate it one star. ..Hello Kevin this is Robert I was the restaurant earlier today and omg the place look nice on the outside inside look good too but the food the taste I have never had food that bad before the taste the quality and the presentation very poor I mean McDonalds can do a better job on taste and presentation I travel alot for work so I tasted alot of food from lots of places and bad to say I had some bad food but nothing compared to what I had at your place today in the scale of 1 to 10 Ill your you a ( 0 ) and let me tell you I have tastes bad food I was very unhappy about the service and the cook. Kevin have you ever eaten ones of does TV dinner you can buy at a gas station ? Well the food at your restaurant tastes worse... And the beer man I dont even want to talk about it for a second I thought the waitress mistakes a beer for a hot tea. Very bad bar service to ... Please do something to better the quality and the service at your place . Im a very nice and sincere person and only complain when I thing is necessary and is not even a complain is more a way to tell you to better the food tasted and service of the entire restaurant... Thank you
We waited a long time at the bar before a bartender acknowledged us and the place was dead. They couldn’t make a White Russian because they were out of something and then the drinks we did get were not very good.
Bartender was more interested in her phone than pouring beers and filling orders. Atmosphere was fun.
Always have a great time with my friends! Would give a 5 star rating but when I went this past weekend a female bartender at the back patio bar passed me multiple times before she finally got to me and even served someone new who came right up next to me. Least friendly bartender that night and wouldve given her more if she had a better attitude!
Good atmosphere and good food
Good food, decent selection of drinks, but very loud music. Very hard to actually have a conversation. Also they charge more if you use a credit card.
Only stopped in for a drink but we had fun with their great bartenders. They have a bunch of outdoor games and a great atmosphere!
My friend and I both went during Country Thunder weekend, making the bar a lot less crowded than it normally was (according to what a bartender told a group of guys). Somehow, my friend and I still managed to wait 15-20 minutes at the bar for even one of the girls to notice us or pay attention to us while they were happy to serve the group of guys that had come in 10 minutes after us. After serving the guys, they turned to talk to each other or text. My friend ended up trying the other bar, only to be told they weren’t opening that bar for another hour. She explained our situation, so I’m assuming it was a manager came over and yelled to one of the girls on our behalf for service where she promptly responded “excuse you!” to the manager. She finally took our order, but I was really disappointed it took a manager to step in. It was my first time here since moving to Tempe and I don’t think I’ll come here again.
Fun place for a party night. Good service, good music, sometimes country dancing Wednesdays and Thursdays
Wish I had the chance to try the food but there wasnt a table available. This is definitely a college kid environment and apparently the nightlife hotspot. We didnt stay long but 4 stars for atmosphere!
So much fun was had here. Great place! Loved the games out back and the friendly staff! Thanks for the good time!
I would prefer 0 stars but will give them 1 for answering the phone. Tried to call and make a reservation for 25/30 people for 5:30pm tonight, Tuesday night mid March prime spring break time and I was told that groups that size have to go through corporate so they can staff accordingly. SERIOUSLY??? I guess somewhere else wants our business. I mean that is pretty unbelievable considering they are located in a tourist area.
Worst experience of my life! Had to cancel my drink order after waiting for 45 mins. Then took 35 mins to get my bill. Would not recommend to anyone.
Atmosphere was nice. The chicken skin was burnt. The chicken under the skin had some flavor. They dont serve coke. Not sure that I will be back.
Nice place it is heavily trafficked since it is near the college so some nights can be crowded
What I enjoyed most were the drink selections. They had fun madness and different ingredients. My margarita had a spicy salt rim I enjoyed. Mac and Cheese burger is nothing exceptional. Whiskey burger pretty good. Went on football night...they really alienate themselves by being a Packers bar. This is Arizona. There were 8 people there when we went but the mexican restaurant next door, a cardinals restaurant, was packed.
Great atmosphere, great music, and great employees. Theres open patio across the bar. A green with jumbo jenga and cornhole as well.
Went in for lunch. Interesting sandwiches tasted great. Loved the cw music. Ill come back at night and watch the atmosphere the. Very friendly staff. Alison remembered everything.
A great spot off of Mill Street great drinks and food
Fun time with friends! Average food, good beer.
We went there on a very slow Wednesday night, it was not at all busy, but the bartenders couldnt be bothered go take our drink order. After waiting 5 minutes we moved to the other side of the bar and got he same results. After we finally got their attention and ordered, they brought the 2 of us the wrong drinks but at that point it didnt really matter. When it was time for a 2nd drink, we attempted the main bar again, got the second results so we left and went somewhere else.
Pretty nice place. Nice indoor - outdoor layout. It did get a bit cold though. Trivia night was fun, but the pre-recorded format felt a bit plasticky.
Atmosphere and service was good. Menu and floor under our booth was dirty, but overall had a good experience.
Cool place, food was ok.
The best dancing in the Valley every Thursday night!
Poppin on a Saturday night! Minus the womans bathroom not having tp and stalls that dont lock lol I honestly had an amazing time!!
Food was tasty, drinks were good. Bartender was attentive. Dancefloor never opened up, the reason I was interested in coming here.
For me, the service was slow and drinks were weigh overpriced.
Terrible service they dont hire for iq
I love Whiskey Row for their dance floor. They do play country earlier in the night but whenever I get there it is usully pop/rap music. The vibe is always good. The drinks are very overpriced for an 8oz AMF it was $11.50
Hate to give any business a 1 star review - management please take note. Came to the bar Jan 31st and Feb 2nd with about 20 guys on a stag. Both nights we noticed that one of the employees would take down the address information off of the drivers license after we set up a tab for bottle service - 2 days later, the credit cards were ran for $1,500 x 3 and was going to rung and 4th and 5th time before the credit card company stepped in. Other guy who paid a different night put a stop on his card after that the night. One of the guys also left his sweater here, after calling Whiskey Row Tempe, one of the employees said they had definitely seen it. After about 5 mins on hold the employee came back on the phone and pretended that she forgot the request and didnt know what grey sweater we were talking about (employees closet now). Would like to discuss more with management or even better, ownership.
So my friends payed for a table and I wanted to meet up. They wanted me to pay $10 extra just to see my friends who already payed for a table to get in. I would avoid at all times with this kind of strategy.
We are looking forward to spending more time here:We just had such a great experience here. Dear Dirks Bentley country fans; I have a country tip - if you are ever near Scottsdale Road and Shea BLVD stop in here:Handle Bar JWhat a super spectacular restaurant is this place. It is because of this restaurant I play the fiddle today. The music is extraordinary and the welcoming is heart felt. This restaurant and bar has maintained an incredible music talent and inviting atmosphere since I was 6 years old . I am 51.5 years old today. I plan to attend often and give them my support. This is one of the only places in Phoenix Arizona you can go hear live country music today. One of the band members is famous - he wrote a country hit (Me and You sung by Kenny Chesney - this is his career song); was a star in a famous country band (McBride and the Ride) is the lead guitar player for a famous country star - when he tours Lyle Lovett. On top of all that I learned the drummer played for Glen Campbell . Wow, what an all star line up. They are kind and have big hearts and they love to build their family legacy of great food, wonderful hospitality and unbelievably live country music.
