Needs better music ppl can dance/vibe with also I dont wanna be able to hear the person next to me talk without leaning close to my ear lol
I’ll be strait up honest. When I read the reviews I was a little worried, went to the Ray Volpe - Ubur show last night and was concerned with the reviews I was reading just a week prior from people that went to Trampa’s show. I was reading that they didn’t turn on the AC and the only water available was $4 bottled water.Well I went last night and must say to you guys, for 1 the security were super polite and friendly, yeah the pat down was a little more than what I got walking into EDC Las Vegas but it’s definitely not a TSA shake down. Another issue I was worried about was the venue not using the AC with it being 100 plus degrees. Guys when I walked upstairs it was actually super cold. The AC was blasting and the fans were moving, my wife literally overheard girls saying they were cold while waiting in line for the restroom (I took a photo of the AC thermostat it was literally set to like 67). The restrooms were clean, there was literally someone moping halfway through the show. And finally the water situation. For it being an EDM show, water is a must. Once again 100% this venue was ready to please. They had at least 10 of those large igloo water jugs filled with ice cold free water. Yeah you could buy bottled water, but water was plenty full, free, and very easy to access! All and all if this venue slipped up, they definitely heard the concerns and complaints and made all the changes to make it awesome venue to party at. The sound was thumping, light show was lit, the screens were huge. My only complaint if I had one was, you could not bring alcohol into the main show room. You had to stay in the bar area, which was alright because the vibe was good in there but I would have liked to have brought my drink to the actual main room. I would recommend this venue and will be back for another show!
The club is nice and music is good, bathrooms were great and the ac was plentiful, the club had water jugs for people that needed hydration which was a must. security at the door is normal so people dont bring weapons in which makes sense lol. The hype night events are not as lit as they were starting up, aura should really partner up with more lit individuals who can actually keep aura ragging for more nights to come.
Dont waste your money. Some people were very nice the promoters were very rude. They tried to charge us $60 after we already bought tickets. Go to the piano bar, much better time.
No A/C in a crowded packed room. Security at the door was way too close for comfort when they were doing body checks. Ive NEVER had security put their hand on my bra before. Ill rethink the next event that is set here....
The music was definitely all rave music. They make about anyone feel uncomfortable.
Today i experienced terrible service at Aura. I went there to have fun w my friends and dance. Some guy came up to me threatening me.. he yelled at me publicly humiliating me and even threatened to hit me next time I show up at Aura. This made me feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. His name was Pat. Usually wears glasses, a durag, and is pretty slim and tall. He claims that he works there and handles all the parties as well. Ladies are not safe going to aura at all!! That was not okay and I honestly felt very much harassed.
Don’t even bother, this place will go out of business soon. They will charge you a massive cover at the door even though the entire bar is empty. They pride themselves on a high class club even though they can’t even keep the alcohol displays stocked on a Friday night. Bathrooms don’t even have paper towels in both the women and men’s bathrooms. Bartender didn’t know how to make a simple cocktail with bitters. The bar doesn’t even stock bitters. It’s a great space but I can’t wait until this place goes out of business and is replaced. Even the promoters outside whose job is to sell you, were rude and on their phone at 12:30pm trying to fill the club. Never again. The drinks were cheap though and the music was good so the bar might deserve 3 stars but the staff is untrained, promoters are rude, and bathrooms are unattended.
Bad music, cant really dance to it, didnt know any songs except 1. Not enough people so awkwardly roomy
Nice interior design. The bar at the main stage only sells bottled water for 4$, no tap water. The waitresses wear almost nothing but the male waiters are fully clothed. If you have the waitresses wearing almost nothing, why are male waiters fully clothed? Have them wear something sexy too.
Awesome staff! Came here a couple of times and definitely will be going back, very unique! I highly recommend coming out and having a good time. Drinks are at a great price and the music is always on point. 11/10 !!
Great experience until I tried to get my pepper spray back that I left at the door. I was told to remember the faces of the two men at the door to get my pepper spray back once I left the venue. When I left and asked for my pepper spray back, I was told “no” because they were not allowed. I saw the man that was there when I originally entered the venue, and went back inside to talk to him. I was told that I was yelling and being disobedient, and because of that I would not get my belongings back. I waited despite the fact and was lectured about “how easy it was” to get my belongings back without yelling. I will never go back to this venue, because from the reviews I see I am not the only one with a hostile experience with the bouncers. I understand why some venues ask to leave pepper spray at the door, but I’ve never had such a difficult time getting my things back.
I love the atmosphere the employees are really chill
Bouncers here are completely hostile and involve police at a whim. Made aggressive accusations to my friend that were completely not true, and actually got him arrested. Absolutely no safe way to go here and drink without getting harassed and/or and getting into some kind of trouble. Dont bother. This is why you dont go to Mill, and if you do, you definitely dont go to Aura. School of Rock closed for a reason, and so will this dump.
I love Aura for the artists they bring, I am not a huge fan of them for their staff. Multiple times getting into this venue has been hell. Security, doormen, and ticket scanners all seem frustrated beyond all hell to be performing their jobs. Regularly hassling and harassing guests because of their own inefficient ticket process and clunky security checks. One time I came here I was berated to step out of the VIP line when I had VIP. Another time, my friend who came sober with me security claimed was rolling balls and refused to let her have entrance.Drinks are overpriced as youd expect from a nightclub. Bartenders are much more pleasant than their front-door counterparts and deserve the tips they earn for how understaffed they typically are.The venues management is still a bit new. But, it still has a lot of room to grow before feeling like a business and not a bad frat party.
1st of all I love love love the door man kinda wavy type he told us your going to love itso I go up the stairs and its completely new which I love and no it wasnt packed at all ... AT ALL (I got there at like 11 though) but thats what made it so much fun !!!!! I swear to you guys they have THE BEST DJ Ive been to so many bars so many clubs and this DJ had me dancing nonstop from the moment I stepped foot in that club... And the security was so much fun!! Thats what a good night needs strong drinks great music and amazing people !!
Great cocktails and friendly bartenders. The music is always great and they bring in some DJ talent that usually doesn’t disappoint. Had a great time here, and I’ll be going back soon.
Very cool and professional nightclub right in the heart of downtown Tempe. The lighting is amazing and the sound system is phenomenal! Highly recommended to check out.
I was there on a Wednesday for Ladies Latin Night. The cover is only $5, they have a dance lesson from 8 till 9, either salsa or bachata, and fantastic dancing and dancers from 10 until about 1:30. The venue is new and Wednesday nights are new. The pic below was taken at 12:30 AM 9/27/18 with many people still left dancing... It was four times as packed before that.I travel internationally and have been in clubs all over the world, New York Etc.From a dancers perspective, the the floor is top-notch! Not too sticky not too slippery. This place is definitely worth checking out, especially for only five bucks. Social dancing is a great way to meet people but do yourself a favor, if you dont know how, take the lessons...
Honestly, one of the best clubs Ive been too. The atmosphere truly lives up to the name!! The place inside looks incredible. If you go to ASU this is the hit spot. Everything is amazing about this place. LED walls, unique bottle services and the music is always hyped with different artists. WORTH CHECKING OUT!
Went to a 15$ show here and they gave bracelets at the door. Two hours later I step out for a smoke, and when I try to go back in the bouncer tells me only VIPs can re-enter...Whoever runs this place has the business savvy of a rotting cantaloupe. They could have gouged me for 80 more dollars worth of drinks, but instead treated this show like it was a sad county fair ride exclusive only to those deemed worthy of it or no rational objective reason.
Minimal AC and no free water during show when it gets hot., otherwise great layout and sound
I never leave reviews but wow this is WORST event I have ever been to. It’s way too hyped up. The people who worked there looked miserable doing their jobs & were rude. It’s definetely not even worth the money at all either. I had the worst time there. Never going back again.
Great place to rave, it just gets a bit crowded.
Always poppin!! Now doin hip hop on fridays and saturdays! I like this place, everybody is chill. Security always makes sures were good.
Their security acting out against the media on a public sidewalk. Why go to an unamerican establishment like this? A place where they dont respect the citizens of Tempe?
To start on a positive note, I like the Aura venue, its a cool looking venue were they book many great Djs come and play. They have pretty big screens and a great sound and light system. The shows are fun and energy is great.HOWEVER, management is horrible and the staff (especially at the door) arent very friendly. Bartenders were much nicer than bouncers, and seem to be the only helpful people around.Heres the worst part though, this place is usually packed when a big name comes to town, meaning tons of people in a small hot crowded space as many edm events are. THEY DONT GIVE FREE WATER!Seriously I was here last Saturday and I have to beg the girl at the bar for some water, as everyone in our group was so thristy! Tried to get water all night and the only thing they say is that it costs $4 for a water bottle. Honestly its just ridiculously irresponsible to not service water for free at a place like this with the large crowds that show up to these things. DO BETTER AURA!
People do not know how to do their jobs. They had a show for people and did not even get to everyone because they are an hour behind. I want my money and time back for the worst time of my life.
Came to the venue/club to see Freddie Gibbs, got through the line quickly which was nice, but as soon as we got into the venue we realized how garbage it was. From the poor PA system and mixing of audio during the sets to the lack of beer available. The signs on the bar listed around 10 beers and there were only a quarter of them available, IF THAT. The main bar was shut down and only VIP was open, yet the bar that was open had less beer than a dry county.. Both of the bathrooms were completely trashed and did not even have paper towels stocked. Dont bother attending even for a musician who is unlucky enough to perform here.. No chance I will be back in this area unless I am getting food from Rula Bula... HARD PASS.
No AC during Trampas show and on top of it getting over 100 degrees inside they dont give out water like other venues in the area when it gets hot inside, such as the pressroom. On top of that. They cut off the artist at the end. Horrible venue. Would rather go to a show in the desert an hour away.
Read the other reviews, theyre not lying when they say this place is trash. Security is trash, the venue layout is horrible for drinking and watching the show at the same time.STAY AWAY
Its a nice venue. I was there for Darren Styles concert. Awesome location Its the old school of rock.
Great venue just a bit hot.
Horrendous. Terrible. Worst bouncers Ive ever seen. Turns into World War III if you just step out for a second and try to come back in. A bouncer actually got the police involved when a friend of mine innocently did so. All the bouncers here need to be fired and never work anywhere again, and this dump needs to be closed. I cant believe its still even open. Just dont go here: youre looking at nothing but disappointment and potential police harassment if you do.
This place is a whole mess! Went to see an artist, YELLA BEEZY perform. Spent $900 on a drinking section near the main stage because you can not drink near the stage because it is 18+. Which was fine, we payed to be able too. The managers and club promoters assumed that because they worked there they could dictate who would be in that section. So there was really no point in paying for a private section. Also, the section lead to the stage so people frequently walked through, which was fine, but when the artist came in they kicked everyone out of the section so he could get through. It felt very unprofessional to kick someone out of an area, they purchased. When I asked why we had to leave, one security guard told me he’d carry me out? They should of handled that better, but it felt like security was inexperienced and maybe a bit overwhelmed. We constantly had to tell security to kick people out of our section because people would just walk right in and have a seat, grab a drink. The manager, felt inexperienced. If they need the section for business or their own space, they should of never charged for other people to sit there. The only person who knew slightly anything about professionalism was the gentleman we bought the table from, Rahkeem. Overall, my best advice is don’t spend any money here, it’ll go down the drain quickly. Come to just see the show and leave. There are better venues, basically any venue.
They stole our money they lied about the event they was having do not i repeat DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY BUYING TICKETS THRU EVENTBRITE FOR THIS PLACE ITS FRAUD...
Very nice home like atmosphere.reasonable price at the bar.every one very nice.nice to go in groups with friends to have good time.
Had a great time here last weekend! Heading back again to see Walshy Fire this Friday night!
Rating based on drinks and bar service alone. Entry was quick and other employees were fine.
Terrible venue, always dead, shady management, something is wrong with their soda guns it tasted gross, also black dirt specks in the ice. WORST CLUB ON MILL. CHEAP MAKEOVER OF SCHOOL OF ROCK. SAME PROBLEMS!! Racist dress code wont fix your business. Also the promoter is a drug dealer. Shoot your local drug dealers kids. Also Tempe PD should check out those middle school looking girls they got dressed like hookers out front, gross!!
Hot. I was there, thank you very much
Very rude staff and security, management is a joke
Worst bar on Mill. never go there. security incompetent, and thats being politically correct. why is this place still open?
False advertising. They say the hosting a certain event on the internet, but they aren’t really . Was supposed to be a haunted house venue and wasn’t at all .
Terrible and at this rate wont be open long.
Its ok.
