Love the ambience at this place, and of course the wine too! Have COVID restrictions altered the experience with limited seating, preset flights, and a limited dining menu? Yes, but not so much that it would affect my decision making to visit. As a member with reservations, we were seated immediately at a socially distanced table with an amazing view of the vineyard during the late afternoon. It was a much more relaxed experience without an elbow to elbow crowded tasting room.

We had an incredible time at Doffo for the latest Hilltop Sunset Dining Experience. The food was beautifully paired with their amazing wine. Learning about their family history and deep knowledge of crafting their wine was definitely one of the highlights. The vibe at their winery is hard to match and gives us deep respect and pride that they bring such quality wine from the Temecula wine region.

This family owned winery makes some of the best wine on the planet, yes planet. The care taken to produce the wine is evident in the color, flavor, mouth feel and fragrance of each of their amazing wines. The family is warm and inviting as they share their stories of how Marcello the patriarch of the family had a dream to make wine many years ago. The use artistry in everything they do, from entertaining to building a beautiful winery and in the wonderful wines they produce. They have created a must visit winery in a valley full of great wineries. The atmosphere caters to all, from small families to the big groups. The staff is excellent and work hard to make your visit the best experience possible. They have wonderful events to support worthy endeavors and just to celebrate life and love of all things Motorcycles and wine. Come taste and see for yourself and you will agree and come back for more. It is our #1 stop in the valley, it should be yours too!

You wouldn’t think motorcycle and wine but hey Doffo did it and people come. It’s kinda cool to see all the display of motorcycle and mopeds. The wines are also really good. Their reds beat most other places. There’s a quieter tasting room and there’s a more like bar area where the wall of bikes are. We bought a bottle and a jar of chimichurri sauce. Both delicious with steak.

I understand with covid 19 there will be some adjustments and everyone is attempting to return to normal, but our experience here was awful. Waitress, Ollie, acted as if we were inconveniencing her by even being there. Half the items they had on their NEW limited menu werent available or had been replaced by something else and not noted on the menu or anywhere else for that matter. Only when we said we were ready to order and proceeded to tell her the order did she finally say oh thats not available, but we do have X... with regard to literally 3 different items... and there were literally only like 10 things on this new menu... so unprofessional. Then AFTER the food and wine were delivered, we received no napkins and no utensils to eat the food. After we made a comment about needing the items, she said she would be back with them and proceeded to serve 2 other groups of people their drinks AND food w/ utensils and napkins and STILL did not come back with ours. At that point we politely asked the host for our check and paid, TIPPED, and left. We went to 5 other wineries that same weekend and they were wonderful in terms of service, attentiveness, and atmosphere. Dont waste your time or money here, you have other, BETTER options.

Wow! It was like wine tasting at Applebees. We were told it was a unique winery so we made reservations for their wine tasting room. We were seated outdoors and served french fries. A 20 year old young man explained our wine selections, less than desirable experience to say the least. They should be ashamed to take our money. For a real wine experience go to Lorenizi, where they really know wine.

Great wine, great wine, great wine! What we liked? The options for tasting - two options. 1) We could taste a mix of red and white (5 tastes) or 2) mix of reds and a port (7 tastes). We were also able to ‘share’ a tasting which was great because I was with my sister and sharing a glass was not a problem! We also appreciated the wine experts who shared the history behind each wine and even the label designs. What you should know before you go? Weekday, midday maybe a good time to visit to avoid a crowd. We went at 3 pm on Tuesday and the inside of the barn (where tasting is done) was pretty busy but not so busy that we did not feel attended to. By 4 pm, there was a pretty good size crowd. What we learned after arriving that you might want to know? They have outdoor seating with a nice view of the vineyards. Lovely. And the gift shop is not limited to wine accessories. If you are a motorcycle lover, there are plenty of bikes to see and many accessories.Would we recommend wine tasting here? Yes, yes, yes!

This is still one of our favorite even though we were here six months ago but it’s so much fun to be here and we can only imagine how much more fun it would be if it wasn’t the Covid time. Today we are doing a different flight flight of the new releases.2017 Gran Tinto, 2017 Sarah, 2018 Cabernet ( Great description) 2017 Salute.6 months ago. This was one of my favorite winery for me because I love all of the motocross bikes. The history of this place is fun. The family member who I can’t remember her name was wonderful, she explained her family’s vines very well. The vine was great, we had the big red flight...Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and I even liked the Malibec! They had us taste that with the home made chimichurri. We really enjoyed it there, and we WOULD go back. I would love to go back the weather is warmer.

Some of the better reds in the valley, but also some of the priciest. If you come here for a tasting, and you like reds, I would recommend the premium tasting over the regular tasting (I think it is $30 vs $20). This is a smaller winery, views are minimal. The do have a motorcycle collection for you to view. They have just moved their main tasting room to the barrel room that used to only be open on the weekends. The old tasting room is now closed for remodeling. Park at the west end of the lot for easier access.

Doffo Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 2017I received the DWCSPR17 with the intent of doing my best to cellar it and practice delayed gratification for at least an additional year of aging as suggested by the experts at Doffo Winery. I soon discovered that my willpower would fall short of my aspirations. And I am so glad that it did.I planned a small dinner party with the best of friends and proceeded to acquire some of the finest filets that I could find to accompany the Private Reserve. If I were writing about pairing before the dinner I wouldve spoken about pairing the wine with the meal instead of the other way around. Now, after the meal and tasting, its obvious that the wine was the star of the affair.Ive tasted wines before that added to the meal that it accompanied, but this is one of the few times that the wine truly elevated the entire meal. The Private Reserves rich and balanced tannins and its dark fruity notes and earthy undertones combined to convince me that it was in the top three CabSavs Ive ever encountered in any price range. The filet was cooked to a perfect smidge under mid-rare and after thrilling in a few bites with a finish of the PR I ventured to try a bit without the wine kicker. Although a delightful few bites it was immediately obvious that Doffo Winery was trying to aid me in my dinning experience and I quickly returned to my glass.Sipping the remainder of the bottle post dinner assured me that the 2017 PR could hold its own as a solo act in any setting that again was amongst the very best Ive enjoyed.Ive tried a few other offerings produced by The Doffo Winery recently and they all held their own extremely well. The Cabernet Sauvignon PR 2017 was my absolute favorite. The Temecula Valley is without doubt becoming the next big California wine region and I couldnt be more excited for more to come.My next advent will be to acquire a few more bottles of the 17 PR and actually give them a bit more cellar time. After which Im convinced that it will easily move into first place in my personal pallet history.Thank you Salo for your expert guidance in my selections.

The Doffo Winery was one of the stops during my bachelorette weekend and everyone LOVED this place. The tour was interesting, the staff is kind, the vintage motorcycle collection is awesome, and on top of everything I enjoyed all the wines we tried. Of course, there were some wines I preferred over others, but none of them I disliked. It was also a plus that we got to have some delicious empanadas with homemade chimichurri. This place was casual, fun, unpretentious, and just absolutely wonderful to visit. They also let you bring in outside food, which was a bonus.Out of the two wineries we visited (the other being Miramonte), this was by far the favorite!!

My brother & his wife, and my sister & her husband BOTH have subscriptions to Doffo- they get the really good stuff. So one day, when they were heading out for a tasting, & to pick up some cases, they invited my husband & me along. Im not a real connoisseur, but I know the difference between Shaw & Opus One. EVERY ONE of the wines we tried at Doffo were excellent- and the guy doing the tasting was really knowledgeable and helpful!
