Beautiful water trails! So quiet and the launch is super convenient! Easy to access and the gate attendant was very friendly! Water trails are marked and easy to read!
Hats off to Ranger Brian and Micka who assisted my family and I with our canoes. We couldnt have done it without their help. I would highly recommend this park. Great amenities, helpful/friendly staff and clean bathrooms.
Great trails with a bit of everything. Pine scrub, marshy, wetlands, pretty views!
Nice little green area just outside the city. This is a pretty well maintained area with some nice light outdoor activities. Rental boats are available, and the party gazebos seem like a nice place to have a group gathering or party. Standard park activities like playgrounds and horse shoe pits as well. Not a destination in itself, but if you are in the area, its a good place to spend some time.
Such a quiet and peaceful park. Gazebos can be reserved. Theres a nature center. You can bring your (leashed) dog. Canoes are available to rent. No alcohol is permitted in the park. Theres a horseshoe pit, volleyball, playgrounds, and plenty of trails.
Ranger was wearing no mask when trying to talk to my son
Around 2.5 miles of trails that are very easy to travel. Very well maintained. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers. Also a very nice nature center staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people.Canoe and Kayak rentals are also available. The word is that the fishing is not bad either.A nice hidden gem for a family picnic and a pleasant afternoon walk
A great place to witness the old Bay and the mangroves and wildlife that used to dominate this landscape. Also there is a great kayak launch point here for fishing and animal enthusiast
Excellent kayak launch. Decent amount of parking. Kayak wash down station. Interpretive trails. Boardwalks out onto the water.
Good place for family and friends picnic. Nice trails.
Very great site. lots of nature, beautiful landscapes, and endless roads
Love this park and the Rangers are very helpful and knowledgeable. They have nature trails, canoeing and kayaking....fun way to spend a day!
Nice peaceful dog friendly park. Lots of short different style nature trails to walk. Has shaded areas, picnic pavilions, grills, play ground, bathrooms and even a canoe rental. Only $2 to park, worth the visit and will be back.
Ive been coming here for years to fish, hike and play with the kids. Be ready for the no see ums the little bugs with a big bite. The playgrounds are good and there is a big open area to play in. Its also a great place to launch a canoe or kayak. They have cheap rentals too.The nature center is pretty good also. There are plenty of examples of local flora and fauna. At the time of writing this review they are in the process of updating the property.
Great views and quiet trails so close to home.
Ive been to this park several times to kayak. Easy kayak launch. Nice easy paddling, beautiful scenery. Very clean park, nice shelters and picnic areas. Have not walked the trails but they look nice. Only $2 to park. You can also rent kayaks which are affordable. There is an interesting nature center and the staff are very helpful and friendly. This park is like a hidden gem, away from the city.
This park is a SOLID 5. The trails are beautiful, with well-maintained boardwalks. Great inexpensive canoeing and kayaking opportunities exist among the mangroves. I took my kids out in a canoe on Spring Break. It was a memory that will last a lifetime. There are plenty of picturesque picnic spots and open gathering places. And the nature center is top notch. I actually had a staff meeting here. Inside there are learning lessons every where you turn, with real live creatures like snakes, fish, and a beautiful terrapin exhibit. Actually, those terrapin are adorable. This weekend I was there for the Hillsborough County Hiking Spree kickoff party. The Hiking Spree is a recreational challenge that is growing annually in popularity. The kickoff was a blast. Best location for this kind of gathering. Well done.
Great place to put your kayaks in or rent for a reasonable price!!!! Also the service behind the counter is fantastic!!
Gorgeous, quiet, lovely
Nice park specially for Kayak for $25
Kayak & Canoe rentals are available here, fantastic way to explore the top of Tampa Bay.
A fantastic preserve with scenic views of Mobbly Bay and Old Tampa Bay.There are trails, covered picnic areas, a nature center and canoe/kayak rentals with a launch right on the bay. The trails are a very easy hike and are well established. There are bathroom facilities located in the park. For children a great experience with a large playground area included.Cost here is minimal at $2.00 per person.
A wonderful spot to take a walk outside and get some fresh air.
Recently Visited this park, it is beautiful, not crowded and with nice trails. You cam do Kayaking, there are BBQ Shelters, Nature Center, Staff person was very nice.
Beautiful park. The visitors center is really cool.
Its okay. Not much there but Im glad that they have set the land aside for recreation as opposed to development.
Sweet place to kayak. We saw manatees and a small shark. Good signage so you don’t get lost.
Well kept and big
The tide was low so we did have to walk the kayaks probably a half a mile. Just check the tires before you go. Its a very nice park but a tight canoe launch.
We recently did my kiddos third birthday party at the class room and the experience overall was amazing.. The park rangers over there are the BEST. I cannot thank them enough for all the help from booking the room to conducting the live animal show to allowing us to decorate the room previous day.. The party was a big hit.And the facility was well maintained. Thank you everyone. I would recommended this place any time.
I like the park overall but its a bit lonely. The play area is good and other amenities are nice too but if they can remove the fees for local people then it would see more people coming in to enjoy the park. Specific amenities can be charged but the play area should be free to access for children.
Nice park. Watch out for the poorly marked speed tables (bumps) the first time you drive in towards the park. The first one is near the Church. If your going any faster than 5 mph youre going to chip a tooth going over them.
Great layout. I feel safe and there is plenty of parking.
Great hidden park in Tampa Bay region. Nature conservatory with instructional displays. Beautiful picnic areas. Canoe rentals to go out on Upper Tampa Bay.
I take the pups and my camera to get out and about. Love how peaceful it is, away but close to the city.
Beautiful park! I try to take my dog through once a week and we always enjoy our time here. The eagle trail has beautiful sunsets and the rangers are always friendly! Enjoy!
Beautiful area. Nature center, trails. Dogs on leashes allowed. Great place to grill out and picnic or hit the trails and see the diverse landscape. Spiders, crab, snakes, squirrels, raccoon, deer and bobcat can be found here.
Awesome for a county park. Very natural and private. Great canoe access to amps bay.
Gorgeous park for kayaking and canoeing. Rentals available. I simply love it!! Ethan, great park ranger!!
Best park Been there with my family
I took my nieces today they love the aquarium and having fun playing at the park. At closing time while the rangers were collecting trash Ranger Ethan took the time to answer never ending questions from my nieces. He laughed with them and made their visit just that much better. Hands down one of the best parks out here and with rangers like that its a win win for family gatherings.
What a beautiful park. There’s a $2 entrance fee, but you can tell the park has a larger than average budget for maintenance and upkeep. Would highly recommend.
Awesome place for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and exploring. Brian and Lucy the park rangers are super friendly, helpful, and just overall awesome they keep the park up well!
Ni e, could use a good cleaning yhough
Should I really give 5 stars, want to keep this place to myself.
Park is nice and clean. Gazebos for parties and trails for walking or running... **BUT** rent a canoe or kayak, even if you dont want to. $25 bucks and its really beautiful. Youll surprise yourself.
The park was clean and had excellent signage. The Nature Learning Center is fantastic and incredibly educational. Ranger Allen was a pleasure to talk to, and gave us insight about the area and things to do with a young infant. Parking is only $2.00. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful park, home to many sweet childhood memories.
Very peaceful place to take your kids. Will give 5 stars for the cleanliness.
Beautiful park, immaculate, friendly and knowledgeable staff
If posible to ride a bike there?
Natural beauty! Lots of fiddler crabs and wild animal tracks. Education center is old but still good. Definitely worth visiting.
Great park. Nice kayak launch.
I board my horse near bye. The Park Rangers there are the friendliest, most knowledgeable, and helpful group of employees, I have ever met.
Had a great time kayak fishing. Loved the lauch.
What a great park to take a walk and see animals in their natural habitat. The nature center is great and they offer canoes and kayaks for rent. Its certainly worth the $2 entrance fee.
Nice place to drop a kayak.
“Gem of a park”We love to get out and explore the parks in our area and found this one last year. It is similar to all the other parks in vegetation and natural landscape but is quiet and serene. Well be back.
Awesome kayak launch and park staff are so nice!
Great little park. Nice nature center, trails to walk on, kayak rentals and a playground.
Great little park with a lot to offer and only $2.00 to visit for the whole day. (Great place to work too.)
Real Camping, nice views, no showers!!
This trail can be accessed through Hillsborough county park. To access the park, there is a $3 fee. Park and trail are opened during normal sunlight hours. The trail is about a 5-15 minute walk to the dock. With plenty of crabs and possible snakes to see on the way. Normal walking shoes are reccomend.
Secluded state park. $2 parking. Trails were under utilized, seems most people use the kayak launch.
Kayak and Canoe rentals were very affordable only $25 for 4 hours of use. The rangers are very helpful and friendly.
The kayaking is great and affordable. Rangers are super nice and friendly as well (and thats saying something coming from me). Dont go expecting a good trail, but for what it is, its a nice little park.
A nice place to walk
The trail is beautiful and well maintained. It is shaded in most parts so it is perfect for biking or hiking.
Great staff
Excellent local park, both for exploring their hiking trails or their kayaking routes. Nice, quiet place with lots to see.
You can rent a canoe or boat for a reasonably fee. Very nice!
