Absolutely love Kumba! Such a smooth ride. Intense loops and awesome banking corkscrews. This ride is totally worth the wait.
SheiKra and Cheetah Hunt are the crowd pleasing and less intense thrill rides of the park, with sharp drops and very pretty track but not as many loops. But if youre looking for a somewhat more old school thrill that caters to roller coaster enthusiasts and adventure seekers, look no further than Kumba.Kumba is as intense as steel looping coasters get with seven inversions all back to back. With a lush rainforest setting and the loud roaring track, the sense of speed is absolutely there. Kumba gets faster as it goes through its layout. The first drop and two loops are fairly intense, but you fly through the zero-g roll in a way that makes you float, and the cobra roll is very whippy, and is taken at terrifying speed. The g-forces on Kumba are sustained and powerful, the pacing is unrelenting, and the line is never long.
A very intense and long ride. Many amazing inversion that slam you with positive g-forces, except for the zero g-roll which provides amazing airtime. Only complaint is that it can be a little tough but Im not one to care about it. Just keep it in mind.
Its a great rollercoaster with some corkscrews and speed. I will say that it does feel heavier and sound sluggish, but im pretty sure the weight of it equals more g forces so its all good.Top notch ride for sure!
Good thrilling ride with all the hoops and turns and speed, but that harness can be hard on the ears, physically. Your head rests between the thick harness and all the vibrations and turns makes your head bounce between these causing pain. I try putting my hands on my head to steady and minimize the bounce. That works better.
Super fun !!! Really enjoyed this rideWe went on twice in a row thank goodness the line wasnt bad only had to wait a couple minutes between
Kumba is amazing due to its speed, intensity, and especially its longevity. This coaster is arguably a top 3 in the coaster capital.
It was fun even though I dont like things that go upside down I loved this ride
I love this coaster! So fun I rode it twice in a row!
Great B&M! Not rough and shaky. Great staff, very friendly.
One of my favorites at Busch Gardens.
They honestly do not build coasters like this anymore... This coaster alone makes the trip to Busch Gardens well worth it.. This coaster truly is legendary. Although some people say its rough, its all about riding it correctly to avoid headbanging (keep your head slightly forward). Back row Kumba is an absolutely insane ride that will leave your spinning by the time you hit the mid-course break run. This ride is a gem and i truly hope its around for quite a few more years!
Named for the distant roar of the king of the jungle, see why this legendary roller coaster still reigns on so many lists of favorites. After the thrill of an initial 135 foot drop, you will plunge into a diving loop, feel a full 3 seconds of absolute weightlessness while spiraling 360 degrees!Touting one of the worlds largest vertical loops, enthusiasts have consistently voted Kumba, one of the worlds best roller coasters! It is said that if you can hear the roar of a lion in the distance, you have crossed into his territory. The natives call this roar the Kumba, and youll feel his breath on the back of your neck from the moment you step aboard the mighty roller coaster that earned his name.
Always a fun ride. One of the longer coasters here.
This one your feet kinda dangle. Its a fun coaster!
This is a great roller coaster. As a coaster enthusiast I think this is one of the best b and ms I have been on. This is an intense ride. My first ride was rougher than expected but my later experiences were amazing. Super intense coaster. The Cobra roll was great and the zero g roll had many forces. The loop had good weightlessness on it as well. Even the last turn is intense! This ride is a classic b and m and my favorite in the park. Top tier coaster that rounds this park out.
Loved it. Super fun coaster
Kumba is a pretty epic rollercoaster with plenty of drops and turns. It is rather rough though and you may end up getting a headache or having your head bounce all over the place.
It kind of hurts but its really fun
Still a fun ride after all these years. And it still rattles your brains like an old wooden roller coaster
The only ride I will go on five times in one day. I love everything about it. Very different experiences riding front row vs. back row. Sitting towards the back is a little rough but an awesome experience on occasion :p
All coasters are great. Nice place to get away to & have some fun.
Love the height, twists, turns, and speed. The anticipation on the way up is amazing!!
A classic and one of the best
Good coaster plus the lines are never too bad.
I Loved this place it was perfect
My number 2 favorite ride behind montu
Classic! A little jerky but always fun!
Mask bs I have no blood brain barrier I have a real medical issue
Very smooth B&M, the new paint job makes it look stunning! this coaster is super fun! I recommend it!
One of my favorite
The surprise coaster of our trip to Busch Gardens! Its not the biggest or longest or trying to be something smart but it packs in such a good ride. Plenty inversions, nice and fast, super track layout plus was walk on when we were there so able to ride again and again.
Still a classic coaster. Great layout and faster then I remember since the new refurbishment. Everything about this coaster is great minus the employees not taking the time to fill empty seats. We sat from front with two empty seats and no one cared to fill the spots. Would just make for a faster line.
Excellent entry level roller coaster. Its not too scary for people who are afraid of coasters but it kind of fun for those who arent. Its great for getting children off of kiddie rides with a smooth transition.
Love how you straight down at 90° line at 70 something mph
Wicked awesome coaster
When my kids were little, this was the first big ride they could go on as soon as they were the right size! We would always make a point of going all the way to the back of the park so we could take a ride on this coaster. I really enjoy going on at even now that its been there for a while because there are so many beautiful views from the top of the ride! We look forward to going on it again with our grandkids!
Super fast and wild roller coaster that screams down the track - it was great when it came out and is still great now!
Great coaster. Nice and forcefull with some unique elements. Plus it uses the terrain to enhance speed and thrills
Im still screaming
This is an outstanding coaster that is underrated in all of the guide books. The add bonus is that the queues are normally short so we were able to ride it four times in a row.
It is a fun ride, but it is pretty rough sometimes. It does look very attractive though
Intense coaster and by far one of the best b&ms in north America. Although it is a little bumpy, its sheer intensity overrules that problem. If you want the best ride on this ride it in the back. Near-perfect b&m
This is a great ride. Very smooth but a lot of G force. The line generally seems to be one of the shorter of the big rides. Ill ride it every time I go to Busch Gardens (twice in a row with my platinum membership!). Definitely recommended for maybe 12yr old and up.
If you love roller coasters youll love this one...a little bumpy not for the weak of heart
Wonderful ride as always. My number 1 coaster out of the 20 or so that I have rode in my life. Very intense but very smooth. There is a reason it has been on the Top 50 Steel Coasters list since it was incepted in 1998. One of only a handful of coasters worldwide to claim that feat. Could use a retracking in the second half at least in the corkscrews since it is 26 years old but it just got new paint and looks fantastic.
Im digging how empty this place is.
Love this one. Its my favorite
This is an outstanding coaster that is underrated in all of the guide books. The add bonus is that the queues are normally short so we were able to ride it four times in a row.
Still arguably the best rollercoaster in the park despite its age. Smooth ride with the right amount of inverts. Always fun.
I think its a good ride I loved the ride and more people should go on it
Love Kumba, some people think its too shaky but I love this ride. Probably one of my favorites.
Kumba holds a special place in my heart. This coaster has been running since 93 and it never truly gets old. I wouldnt recommend riding it ten times in a row like I once did but one ride per visit is definitely in order. The coaster seemingly moves a whole lot faster than its stated 60 MPH top speed and it just seems to get faster and faster as the ride continues. Needless to say the front row on this ride is king but the back row isnt too far behind either. Overall its a must ride every time you come to Busch Gardens as long as the wait isnt more than 60 mins...
One of my favorites. Six inversions and one of the coasters that usually has the second lowest wait time. NOTE: If you have a headache or neck issues DO NOT RIDE, its very jarring.
Small lines one of the best coasters in the park.
Its a good fun ride it also seems pretty old of a ride though not judging. Also if you think about fixing it from making it less rusty its up to you.
Loud, but still a classic
Fun times
Fun place but make sure you bring enough cash. Since your not aloud to bring food or drinks in
This roller coaster is a hidden gem I was amazed at how long the ride was and not only was it smooth it also has so many twists and turns the drop was great this is definitely a must ride
So Fun
I love the Kumba ! so much fun
One of the best
Great ride but very intense for new enthusiasts
First off, I should add that I dont ride roller coasters but kumba is my favorite coaster in the park. Its such a beautiful ride and the sound it makes is just wow. The way it moves in those loops, just awesome looking. So as far as looks go, kumba gets a 5 stars from me!
My god this thing is intense. This is definitely one of the most underrated B&Ms in the world and one of the most underrated coasters in the world. Surprisingly it still runs very smoothly considering its an over 20-year old coaster.
Amazing and fast pasted. A little bit of long line I would bring something to do as you wait.
Its Kumba nice
This coaster is one to behold. My favorite one at the park and one of my favorites period.
Kept breaking down had to wait an hour
Loved this ride! It would have 5 stars if my head didnt get pounded left to right
Great ride. Lots of quick twists.
Another great coaster at Busch Gardens, best ride is in the rear, the front is way rougher!
The sad thing was we ran to this one first. And it was one of the best....so it made many of the other rides seem lame. Do this one last....you will thank me.
Shaky but fun
Most people are like hell no when they see the first loop but the first loop is actually really fun all the other than inversions are really good too my dad said it was a bit rough for him but for me it was really smooth since Im a little scrawny white kid recommended for ages 11-16
This is a ride where you truely feel the roar its great like always
Great ride. I really enjoy sitting closer to the back
I was very strong many brakes
One of my favorite rides at the park however its not smoothest! It has plenty of loops and turns and really rocks you!
Awesome ride... park looks good this year. Employees everywhere, anxious to help.
This is one of the most intense rides youll get on. This is my personal favorite at Busch Gardens Tampa, its amazing! 7 different inversions (including my favorite, The Cobra Roll) and its very intense! Very smooth as well. I rode this 2 times, and it was so much fun!
Best ride ever!
Get there early have fun good place to party bring the kids or go alone
Yet another proper rollercoaster at this fantastic park.No screen filled Harry Potter rubbish here.
Has very varying elements for such an old coaster, very forcefully too, but a bit rough. 8/10
Our kids loved it.
Love it. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Long-running, smooth coaster, very fast with lots of loops.
In my opinion the most characterful and best BGT coaster.
Its the best place ever well sort of but fun and kind of cheap so everyone head on down to buschgardens to enjoy a fun happy day
THIS RIDE IS PERFECT FOR THRILL JUNKIES
