Great place to go for a bike ride. Very safe with park rangers always on duty. Visitors are respectful sharing the trails and water stations. Its a very well maintained park with respect for the abundance of indigenous flora and fauna so you get to enjoy the best of both worlds, natural and man-made.
We used the bike trail on a lovely Sunday afternoon. It was very pleasurable. Pretty flat ride and wasnt very crowded. We did 11 miles. I love the beaches and water stations to rest or grab a quick refreshing drink of water.
Really one of the best and cleanest parks in the Tampa area. Parking is $2 per vehicle. Great for biking and running. Very safe.
The new parking system, paved bike trail, and vending machine are nice improvements to the park. Youll find the longest network of trails in the Tampa area here and a place to enjoy nature.
Great trails and facilities, but can have limited parking. Wonderful place to bike ride with many water stations and rest areas.
Great loop trail. Nature. Quiet. Bikes. Skating. Walking. Not a lot of shade. Wear a hat and sunblock as a suggestion. Sides of paths have seashells. You will find a couple of cool ones!
$2 parking fee, clean bathroom and well maintained trails. I was able to navigate the paved trail easily with my jogging stroller.
First time coming here. Great bike trail!
Such a beautiful scenic view at at this park a perfect place to exercise or simply relax. .love this place
First time w/my grandson - Great ride 11 miles leisurely completed in less than 1.5 hours with a few stops for cold water provided by the park.
Very nice area to run or ride. I rode. At first, off of the BBD entrance, it seemed crowded but that dissipated as I trekked around the loop. The paved trail is flat and has some nice curves and scenery. Water stations peppered along the route. There is a parking fee but does accept cash or card.
Very nice paved trails. Water stops along the route. A little confusion on mile markers though.
7 miles of well paved trail. Nice and smooth mostly level winding through pine woods and wetlands. $2 to park for the day or I would give it 5 stars. There are also at least 3 water stations with ice cold water in big cooler jugs complete with those cone shaped paper cups. It is a nice place to walk or ride bikes.
Aesome place. Excellent for running, bike, and outdoor activities.
Flatwoods is a great place to walk, skate, run or bike. Its 11 miles total from bb downs entrance to bb downs entrance around the loop. But its just 2 miles to start of loop, so could do a four mile round trip easy. There are water stations set up along the loop. Costs two bucks.
Great paved biking trail. $2 parking/entrance fee. Machine takes credit cards.
What else is there to say. Its a nice park for running/biking/trailing.
This park is very well maintained and excellent for all ages and experience levels. Parking is only $2 for all day and there are cold water signs and benches with shade all throughout. We came on a sunday and it was pretty busy. Most main trails are paved and then even the un- paved trails ate wide with very hard compact dirt so even road bikes have plenty to ride. The off-road trails for mountain bikes are great too but if your first or early be prepared for SPIDER WEBS LOL. have fun and enjoy one of Tampa bay areas nicest trails park.
Great road cycling the park loop, the park has open shelters with ice cold water in 5 gallon water coolers. Road surface is smooth and fast. Mountain biking trails as well, no experience on those but they look well used. It wasnt busy since it was a weekday and a bit cool. There are parking lots on either side of the 7 mile loop, no vehicular traffic allowed.
Love this park! There are so many animals to see along the way, the trail is nice and even. You can walk, run, rollerblade, or bicycle. The trail from the Bruce B. Downs entrance is 2 miles into a loop, 7 miles for the loop, and 2 miles back from the loop to the parking lot (11 miles total). There is free cold water in coolers with paper cone cups every 2 miles along the trail. Ive seen lots of deer, birds, bunnies, and snakes here. There are 2 public bathrooms in the parking lot area, along with a Gatorade vending machine ($2/drink). The parking is $2 per car. The hours do change by season so make sure to check online before you go. They do open and close pretty sharply on the hour that is posted.
Great place to go for a bike ride, a walk, or a run. Nice 11 mile paved trail.
This was our 3rd outing there but we entered on a different side which lead us to another mini bike trail inside the park to ride our bikes which made it even more exciting. We rode 13 miles that day and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Most of the bike riders are very friendly and take time to speak. If u dont care to ride then walk the trail. Theres a designated place that has cold water. Try it.
Fun road bike ride+++good mountain bike when trails are not washed out
Probably my favorite place to bike ride, very clean, huge and the park rangers are very attentive when needed.
I was blown away with the trail at flat woods. My wife and I are new to the area and had been looking for a place that we could go to for some walking. When we started on the trail I was in awe. The trail goes on for I believe 15 miles though we only walked for about 2 miles. Had I known that this wallomg/biking trail existed I would have brought our bikes. No worries though because we will be going back again with bikes in tow. The scene is beautiful both sides of the trail lined with trees. It is peaceful and quiet there. You can really walk or ride your bike and enjoy alone time with your thoughts. We saw so many people there of all ages, walking, jogging, biking, walking dogs and just enjoying this majestic trail.
Love this place. I always come out here almost every weekend for a run and it makes me feel so good and energized!
We went biking this July 4th on the large loop (around 11 miles) with myself and two other people. Its the middle of summer and humid in florida here but the flat landscape allowed a nice breeze to pass through making things a lot easier. There are a few rest stops scattered along the entire big loop and some of them even have water and paper cups (though due to Covid-19 they were closed for the most part from what we could see). The trail wasnt too crowded and featured great scenery, especially in the streaking light of the sunset. Though we only explored one portion of the park, we definitely have this marked down as one of our favorites in tampa.
Fun nature park. Parking is $2, flat rate. There are water stations every 2 miles. Beautiful scenery. Great for biking, walking, hiking, etc. The kids even loved it! They enjoy the wildlife.
Great 7 mile paced loop trail with two mile ride from Bruce B entrance to beginning of loop. $2 parking fee per vehicle.
The trails are nice but left a bit to be desired compared to other parks in the area.
Nice tracks close to my house
Great place to ride and walk. The path is flat, as the name suggests, but there is always a head wind no matter which direction you are traveling. Scenery is beautiful and can often see deer and snakes.
Great place for a long walk
Went for the 1st time today and I love it. Lots of paths and trails to explore. Dog friendly. Ill be coming back to hike or bike. Love the location too.
Love the trails and love that we can ride our bikes
Shaded. Flat. And lovely. Great for a late day bike ride.
Great park. Have been going there for over 20 years. The Seven Mile Loop its awesome for cycling and skating away from traffic.
Ive only been here once, but I kept hearing about Flatwoods as a great place for bike riding. It far exceeded my expectations. Not only is it a beautiful place with scenic trails. I was impressed with the water stations offering ice-cold water along the main trail. You can ride on the paved trail or venture onto the dirt with your mountain bike...perfect for beginners. I am looking forward to returning to explore the many trails Flatwoods Park has to offer.
Good main paved trail and some challenging flat off road trails
One of the best state parks for biking, walking or running. They have soak stations along the course as well as rest areas with water and benches to rest. They have a smooth black top surface for a smooth bike ride as well as nature trails through out the park.
This is a fabulous park for biking, roller blading and even just walking. It is only a couple dollars to park here. I like the bike path that loops back around to the parking area. You can go fast or slow and if you like off road biking, they have that also.
Awesome bike trail so much nature and wild life.
Awesome trails for bicycling or hiking! Beautiful place. Get out and see nature!
Well maintained multi-use path with water stations every few miles. Beautiful 11 mile path through nature.
Well maintained. Peaceful. And a wonderful place to exercise outdoors.
So peaceful and beautiful.
First time being there...and it is a great place for biking, walking, jogging...they have shaded sites with water stands spread out on the grounds...and at one point..there is a bathroom area and water fountains and a tool stand to use for any fixing or adjustments and air pump as well...highly recommend !! Oh...it is $2.00 for parking as well....
Easy 11 Mile loop for biking or roller skating.
Great place for road bikes mountain bikes runners walkers
A nice 11 miles of asphalt road to do bike in family.
Nice place to ride
Greatest place to ride we have visited so far as seemed very safe and NO CARS and all paved in the section we took! Great job
Terrific trails to run, walk, bike, etc...
Great little park for cycling, roller blading or for a jog.The parking costs 2$ and the park is free to enjoy. There are little rest areas in the park with water stations. As the name implies, the park is pretty much flat with no hills. So if you are a beginner cyclist, this is a nice and safe place to get your legs in shape without having to worry about cars.
Heres what I know so far, dogs ate allowed on the trail with a leash. Bikers and skaters are also ok. There is a paved trail and a gravel trail. There is a filtered water fountain the is able to fill your bottle with cold clean water. There are park rangers busy at work here so watch for trucks on the gravel trail. Not a lot of shade for the first mile but it gets betters depending on the time of day. I havent explored the entire area yet cause its huge. Check the map on the board. Its 2 dollars per car which is fair. Ill definitely make it my weekend thing.
Peaceful and well kept.
Great place to ride the bikes. A little challenging in some places but just push thru it
Great place to meet friends and enjoy biking
Nice and peaceful for an 11 mile ride
Nice hiking paths..bike, walk, stroller..see wildlife such as deer and turkey
Its great place to do a morning run. Nice track and they have a free water stations about every 3 miles. I have done many 1/2 marathons there and the best part, I never have to carry my own water, especially going for a long distance run!
My family n I have a great time there every time we love it clean good vibes the animals are beautiful!
Good place to go walk, have a get together or just sit and watch the water.
Great place for skating, nice exercise
Nice place to bike, run, or walk
Amazing smooth bike route the loops are one way only and the pass are perfectly maintained. Very quiet and good time. Lots of strava and ride with GPS segments are available for the taking here. I would highly recommend for anyone whos into endurance sports to train here.
This is one of the most awesome places!! Great for a hike, walk, jog, run, skate or bike. Theres enough space and shade!
Just recently got back into outdoor exercise and my friend brought me here for a walk/jog. I loved the overall serenity of the place and the trails that I have explored so far. You pay like $2 for parking and the lot is not that big so car pool if u can.Addendum: Ive been here a few times now and Ive enjoyed the serene nature walk and everyone seems friendly. Not sure if they have sign but its one way inside the lot I made the mistake of exiting how I entered the parking lot and almost hit someone watch out for that.
Really good scenery, flat bike trail, the inky thing to be mindful of is the flooding of the trails in certain areas. We made it through with wet shoes. Either way we enjoyed it!
I love this park! Been coming here for many years to run, bike, and hike. The trails are always very well maintained and clean. Plenty of trails to choose from besides the main paved trail. Water stations are spread out on the main paved trails, so if you need to rest and get hydrated you can do it there!
Flatwoods is great for running, biking, and roller blading. Safe, clean and convenient location. There is water and restrooms, other patrons look out for one another, great addition to the New Tampa area!
Beautiful biking trails with a chance to see local wildlife up close
Nice trail for biking or walking. Very busy, never enough parking on weekends so get there early.
Fun off-road trails its a pedalfest wide turns and lightly
Beautiful scenery. Wide, well-kept asphalt trail. Covered rest station with chilled coolers every couple miles.
Awesome! A must do! I will leave it a surprise.
Nice place to ride the bike run walk excetera
Excellent park for biking, long paved areas and water stations for a hot day.
Beautiful park, very well maintained. My favorite place to run in the area.
Dog friendly park with a 21 mile off road biking loop as well as 11 miles of pavement. Connected to the nature preserve with a zip line and play ground. Pay to park. Rangers on site in case of emergencies with ice water stops on the paved loop.
Perfect for training (bikes and jogging). You can even skate, however I do not recommend it because of the pavement roughness and the wheels damage.
Excellent place for walk, run, bicycles, roller skating ect. I love the oasis, cool water everytime.
Awesome!! Great place to bike, walk, or even bring strollers. Only problem is that its completely open in the sun and can get very hot/humid in the summer so would recommend bringing sunscreen.
A great park for running biking walking and rollerblading. Rest and water stations every two miles. $2 to park cash and credit. Parking is limited. Needs more parking.
Great park to get out and see nature in the middle of citylife. This is a true hidden gem in New Tampa area.
