Had a great tour with Clay! He was so knowledgeable about all the different reptiles. He didnt rush us through and was very nice. Alot to see and it was so neat to get to hold the gator and best part was feeding the tortoise .
Our company took a large group here for a team building event. The tour was fun, the guide a was very knowledgeable, the animals were awesome, and we had an all around great time. 10/10 would do again!
Croc Encounters is well worth the visit! This is a great place for kids and adults. Our tour guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable and we had interaction with some of the reptiles, such as holding a baby alligator, feeding the huge turtles, feeding numerous alligators in a pond, and petting a boa constrictor. The animals and birds are very well taken care of. It rained almost the entire time during our tour but Dan gave us big umbrellas. The rain actually made the tour a totally unique experience -- so glad we didnt reschedule! This is a very different experience than going to a zoo.
Very educational and informative tour. Daniel, our tour dude gave us a very amazing experience, guy knows what he’s talking about. His boss should give him a bonus. There’s a variety of alligators and crocodiles, giant lizards, turtles and tortoises, snakes, and other species. You get to hold a python snake, feed aquatic and land turtles and tortoises, and fed the alligators. We even held a baby alligator. No one should be disappointed!!
Excellent experience! Our tour guide, Clay, was great- very knowledgable and great with kids. We stopped by Croc Encounters on our way to the airport to head home and are so glad we did. Our 2 year old and 5 year old kids loved it.
Fantastic, genuine, place. The kids (2 and 5) loved feeding the tortoises and gators, and petting the tortoises baby gators. Honestly the tortoise thing was awesome for me and my wife as well.Would love to do that again.
This place is awesome! $100 for our family of 5 and well worth it. Our tour guide was Clay and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable about every animal and very patient with questions. The tour last about 90 minutes and included multiple hands on interactions and feeding opportunities with snakes, alligators and turtles. Id highly recommend this to anyone.
Great hidden attraction. Cody was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Definitely would recommend
Went today and the kids loved it. Had a great guide-Clay. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions that we had. He was very patient with the kids. If you and or your kids like alligators, crocs, turtles etc, this is a great place to go. Tours are for your group only so there was no pushing or shoving to see and you can go at your own pace.
Dan our tour guide knew everything, very interesting and entertaining talk. Everyone in our group loved it. Especially the kids. Highly recommend.
I would highly recommend. Was worth the money and everyone enjoyed it. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and very informative. We are from NC and we were looking to do something fun for the whole family and this was definitely worth the money. The place was a bit small, but it was so cool seeing the animals up close. I will definitely comeback.
Love it!!!! The tour guy was great and very knowledgeable, we were a party of 7, we got there a little late, they were understanding and we still got a great tour. I was a little hesitant at first to go there since I’m not to fond of crocs but I can say it was worth it, love the big crock ( owners pet) !!!
Fun, educational, and hands-on! Love that we got to feed some of the animals. Our tour guide did a great job and the children really enjoyed it! Make sure you bring water, the whole tour is outside and it gets HOT.
My boyfriend and I went for a guided tour and were not disappointed. Our tour guide, Tyler, was excellent and very informative. Good sense of humor and that made the experience better. We were able to feed tortoises, alligators and hold a baby gator at the end. The place is a bit small, so I would most definitely recommend the tours, as they will take about an hour and a half.
I’m from out of town and I decided to take a spontaneous trip with my husband! It was amazing. Daniel was very knowledgeable of all the animals! We also got to interact with the tortuous! We even got to feed alligators! By far a great experience. A little pricey I can say for only an hour but I still had an amazing time. Highly recommended!!
We found this place through a Google search of the area and were completely blown away and how amazing Croc Encounters is.First I would like to thank Clay, our guide. The amazing care and patience and knowledge he shared in a fun and entertaining way made my nephews trip here something he will remember for a lifetime. Also the attention and quality of life this places shows to its animals is just... beautiful. You could see how happy and content they were. And learning that they are a reptile rescue facility, giving a hope to animals other places could not take because of their unique needs and predatory nature just made it even better.5/5 stars, will totally come back again. Is totally worth the cost. An amazing value for what was spent.
CALL AHEAD! Took a guided (by appointment) with Daniel. It was interactive and he was knowledgeable about what he was talking about as well as making it age appropriate for the kids. Worth the money especially when the kids get to feed the s and then the alligators (feed and hold).
The tour was great and very informative. The guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable. I think my family’s favorite pet was feeding the tortoises. Highly recommend this place.
We had a great experience on our tour today. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. It was awesome seeing gators up so close!
Clay was a nice, knowledgeable guide who made our experience a fun one
Great place. I went there for the first time, and honestly didn’t know what to expect. This place beat my expectations. The person who was the tour guide was very nice and very knowledgeable. He expressed great information & happily answered everyone’s questions. The experience was very pleasant, as we got to feed alligators and turtles & at the end we got to hold a baby alligator. Overall great hands on experience. I Learned so much.
We booked a private tour, and our guide Daniel was excellent! He answered any questions we had and because of covid-19 he wore a mask and conducted the tour 6-feet apart which was great. I would recommend this tour to my friends because it was very fun with even some hands on activities! Thank you Croc Encounters!
We had an amazing guide!! Extremely knowledgeable and we all had a so much fun! We dont have a favorite part, the whole tour was awesome!
Best experience EVER !!! I want to book every year now for my daughters birthday parties and everyone including the parents were so fascinated! It was pouring outside and they still made it work inside ! And when I booked they didn’t have the day available but again made it work ! So pleased thank you guys :)
Absolutely amazing place to take your kids and family Tyler was an amazing tour guide he has such a great sense of humor and seems to really love the reptiles and get along well with them they all make a great show together my kids and I love it
We had a great experience touring this facility. Our tour guide Dan was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and provided us some great hands on activities. I highly recommend booking the private tour. It is very evident that these people really care about the creatures in their care and are continuing to improve the habitats of all their inhabitants. Kudos to you!
Unbelievable. The best mix of entertainment and education. Perfect for kids 3+ to adults. This place has the most intimate and incredible experience with crocodiles ever imagined. It is obvious they care for the animals. They clearly want to educate the public about how to coexist with our last living dinosaurs. Tyler was our tour guide and he blew me away with his care, hard work, and desire to keep us entertained.
Very informative and fun afternoon. Do the private tour for sure. We had Clay, great day.
Had a great time here. Lou gave us a great tour. Highlights were definitely the gators and the tortoises but it was spectacular to see crocodiles, monitors and snakes too.Another reviewer pointed out how cool it was to feed the tortoises and I have to agree. They really do come running over to you like hungry dogs. The animals all looked healthy, enclosures are well kept and clean.I got in a bit of trouble because I was about to try picking up a tortoise. Do not try picking up the tortoises.
Excellent experience at Croc Encounters. Tyler the tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Tour was approximately 1.5 hrs. The kids loved it
Must do experience in Tampa. Animals were amazing along with the guide.
100% Great Time! Clay is a wonderful tour guide.
Dan was an amazing tour guide and did his best to answer any of our questions! We all really enjoyed this part of our trip and got to hold baby crocs! I LOVED feeding the tortoises the most! They are so hilarious. Make sure to wear bug spray and sun screen on this trip and bring a bottle of water. Great priced as well! Keep taking great care of the animals dan! May not recommend for small children to hold the baby crocs so that they do not drop them if they become scared.
Definitely recommend if youre in the area, the guide was amazing and very informative.
The experience was very interesting and pretty hands on, they teach you a lot and the ability to hold the baby alligator was a very unique experience as well
Very educational and entertaining. Truly loved the verities of crocodilians, lizards, snakes, turtles, and tortoises. Well worth the visit.
I am originally from North Florida and wanted to get the family out of the house. We discovered Croc encounters and had an amazing time. I have such respect for the people who work here and take care of these animals. The kids got to go feed the tortoises and feed some of the alligators. The only thing that I can say was a little disappointing was that they were unable to hold some of the animals like the website said but other than that it was so informative and really fun.!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the different reptiles there and was nice dude. Plenty of fun stuff to look at and do.
This is a cool but little stop on the road around Florida. The Saturday self guided price is the best. I havent taken the pay-for guided tour but understand that they provide a lot of reptilian information if you want to pay for it. Lots of crocs, gators, turtles, tortoises and even a monitor. 1 to 2 hours should be enough for most people. Enjoy!!
Greatly enjoyed guided tour of the facility. From a 14 y.o. kid comment It was more fun than I expected. Amazing, knowledgeable and very friendly guide. Highly recommended.
Great little experience. Tyler was very knowledgeable and you can tell he enjoys what he does. Had a great time with my family.
Pulled up and walked halfway to the entrance to have a guy ask us why we were there. Then proceeded to tell us they dont do tours without reservations.
If it didn’t smell of decaying reptiles and their employees were more pleasant I would’ve given a better rating. Also whoever the owner is that replies to these reviews clearly has no idea what the word “professionalism” means. You do not argue with people that have left negative reviews wether you think you’re right or not. You apologize and you move on. If I had seen these review replies before visiting I would have never given this place my money. I also own my own business and even when I know I am right I do not treat people this way. I do not argue with them. I apologize and offer a solution so I may regain their trust and respect. It’s not difficult to be pleasant and respectful. Put your pride and ego aside.Response to the owner: Not my actual name and yes it did smell like decaying animals. I do not appreciate being talked to as if I am lying. You may be used to the horrid smell but I can assure you it’s bad, really bad. I do not wish to return to your business ever again so I will respectfully decline your offer for a complimentary guided tour. Please be more professional when replying to reviews. Thanks.
Really neat place, very educational!
Awesome! Dan, the guide was very informative. He knew all the pertinent facts. I enjoyed it very much.
Workers there are amazing there, super nice. I wish we went there a little earlier but they spent a lot of time with us and answered all our questions. Lots of info and alligators/crocks. They even brought some other animals out after the tour so we can take some photos. Saturday they have cheaper days, we will for sure go on that day next time!
Daniel was a wonderful tour guide and extremely knowledgeable about the animals. The animals are very well taken care of and all incredibly interesting to see. There are plenty of photo opportunities, and the tour is great for all ages. You can tell the staff truly cares about their reptiles and customers.
Very informative and knowledgeable staff. The enclosures are a manageable size and well maintained.
This place was great!!!! It was perfect for a couple hours of fun for kids and adults. I highly recommend it! The up close encounters with the reptiles were amazing! I would also like to note that Tyler one of the guys that works there was amazing with his knowledge and interactions with the animals and the kids!!
Great experience where you get to see the crocodiles up close & fees the big and small turtles
Great experience! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent tour! If you are into reptiles then this is definitely a spot for you to check out. Worth every dime to get in and you get to hold a baby gator which was awesome. Reptiles are well taken care of. Highly recommend!
I recently visited Croc encounters with my partner and was very impressed with our guide, Tyler, who was not only knowledgeable, passionate and enthusiastic but also very kind and engaging. We were lucky to be the only two on the tour and Tyler gave us the experience we were looking for. Many of the exotic animal sanctuaries Ive visited have somewhat of a holier than thou or we like money but not people vibe but Croc encounters was completely the opposite. Five stars for Tyler and Croc encounters!
Great place and knowledgeable guides.
Great place to visit!
A great family experience and well worth the paid price of admission. Very interesting and well-guided tour. All the animals at this encounter are rescued and are well cared for. Theyre kept in very natural settings. The guided tour was extremely informative and well worth it
Really neat experience... tour guide was very knowledgeable....
Awesome place to bring the kids!! They got to hold a baby alligator and feed/pet giant tortoises, and feed turtles... We all had such a blast!!
Great experience! All kids and parents had fun. Highly recommended!
Incredible experience. The folx who work there have so much knowledge to share, and you can get up close with the animals. Its clear that they really care about the animals in their care, and want to share that with visitors!
This place is very awesome and will give a unique and hands-on reptile experience. Tyler is well educated on the animals and makes the trip very worthwhile. If your thinking about visiting, definitely do so. You wont regret it! Thanks Tyler for such an awesome tour and we will definitely be back!! 5+ stars!
As an animal lover, Im always hesitant to visit places that exhibit animals for a fee; however, let me assure you that Croc Encounters loves and respects the animals that it takes in. Our guide, Tyler, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about working with these animals and you can tell he wants to teach people to love and respect them, as well! The tour was well worth our time and the expense and we felt really great about supporting this sanctuary. We had a lovely afternoon!
Went with a daycare group. The educational aspect was phenomenal and the tour was incredibly hands on, the children loved it!
This was a ton of fun! Our tour guide Danielle was not only knowledgeable he was very personable. My husband and I had a very good time, and would certainly do it again.
I wasa little skeptical if this was gonna be a tourist trap, because it didnt have much curb appeal, but it was actually a really interesting visit. If youre not from the area and want to get your fill of gators before you go home, dont miss this place. The highlight for me is a pond with about 60 alligators you can feed. Kids love it, and the guide we had was knowledgeable and investing for adults. Note that on every day except Saturday, you have to schedule a tour in advance by phone.
Very educational. And, the price was just right...
They made an attempt, but it was depressing. The animals were in such tiny areas. The snake and small gator that were up at the front were kept in black Tupperware bins the employee kicked across the ground. The gators were piled in a tiny pond and the turtles were kept in tiny deteriorating tanks/pens, but the tortoises at least had a large area. I felt so bad for these animals. Gator land is further, but way better. I’m very confused by the other reviews because this was tiny, not well kept, and I felt really bad for the animals.
This is such a great place, we made so many amazing memories and its definitely worth the visit. The guide Tyler was very friendly and positive!
Really cool place with very knowledgeable handler. Got to feed tortoises which was great. Would recommend to anyone just coming in to scope out some reptiles
It was fantastic. Tyler our tour guide was fantastic. He was funny, informative, and can tell he really enjoys his job. He has a relationship with the animals ans made it a fun experience for us. The animals you can tell are well taken care of and seem to be happy there. A wonderful experience. A must do.
This is a fun hidden gem in Tampa. Tyler, the tour guide was awesome. The kids loved it. We’ll be back.
This place is amazing! Unlike any typical Zoo experience, here you get up close and personal with the animals with live demonstrations, education, and feedings! They are a sanctuary and as such, have a great mission as well. Lou was our guide and he is incredibly knowledgeable and a great deal of passion. Lou kept things entertaining and educational, even keeping our two year old engaged. Dress appropriately, bring bug spray, some water, and youll have a time like no other!
Awesome! We got the guided tour today and it was a lot of fun. They let you feed the alligators and the turtles. We were even able to hold a baby alligator at the end of the tour and get some pictures! Definitely recommend this tour!
Croc Encounters came for our granddaughters 6th birthday party. Very professional and engaging. The show was very informative and the children loved the animals. I highly recommend this for any reptile loving child. Our little Bindi Irwin was over the moon.
Absolutely amazing! Cody was so informed and taught us so much. The animals are taken care of and are in quiet comfortable habitats. Cant recommend it enough!
This experience is very interesting and exciting. This is my second time and with a different staff member doing the tour. Both were very knowledgeable and gladly entertained questions. The wildlife is interesting and appear extremely well cared for. This most recent visit was with my mother who is disabled and was able to easily get around on the wooden walkways. Worth seeing if youre a tourist or a local.
Very nice, tour guide was super nice and explanatory
Loved it! Really nice staff great educational attraction, a must do!!!
Good place to stop by with the family
Great experience!! Tyler was super helpful and had great knowledge about all of the animals. He made the experience a 10/10! Highly recommend!
This place was so cool! Our guide, Clay, was very informative. He took his time to answer all questions. We never felt rushed. I felt like the price was fair for what we got to do. The weather wasnt super sunny but all the animals were visable. I loved that they rescued all of them. I will definitely come back if I am in the area again. Say hi to Pickles if you go!!!
My family and I had a very fun time today. We have been wanting to come here specifically for the tortoises (I love tortoises so much) we were so excited to feed and walk inside with them. We spent quite some time with the tortoises, then we looked around seeing the big crocs and smallers ones too. That was enjoyable for us. Yes, is a small place but well worth it. You get to see them really close unlike other places you do not see them up close you see them from a distance. Other places you wouldnt be able to go inside with the tortoises and spent times with them if you are tortoises lover like myself. Also, both guys working there answer all my questions and were very friendly, they knew what they were talking about. Is a great little place to visit, and I will be coming back.
My boyfriend and I visited today and it was amazing! We called at about 2 and they were able to get us in at 4 for a guided tour. Our tour guide Tyler was super knowledgeable and entertaining, you can tell he cares about the animals and what he does. The facility was clean and well kept and I definitely learned a lot while I was there. I would have paid $45 just to feed the tortoises alone, so fun and a great memory to have! Thanks guys!
Its was great I love it and my kids did as well
Good time, Tyler was personable, patient, and professional.
Had a great tour today. Very educational. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who comes to Tampa.
The zoo keeper is very knowledgeable and nice. All 4 of us had a great time, even my elder son not a big fan of reptiles!
Nice intimate place to see Reptiles and support a good cause.
Marc was a great tour guide and would highly recommend visiting Croc Encounters
Its not worth more than 5-6$ per head. Only good activity is feeding leaves to turtle. They charged 5$ tax even after we paid 40$ to GROUPON. Its good if you get some deals. You can not spend more than 1 Hr there. So read other review before purchasing and planning. Only two reptiles are there- Gator and Turtles.
The guys giving the tours were super friendly and knowledgeable of the reptiles. Definitely glad we did the guided tour! Recommend bringing mosquito spray since it is very humid.
We loved our experience! We got wet, but its rainy season in Florida (cant control the weather). My husband, son and I fed the turtles and got to hold a baby before we left. It is a fun, safe, family friendly experience that I would recommend to family and friends. If you are looking for a unique experience, filled with quality information, take one of the guided tours!
My wife and I joined our son last week for a guided tour with Tyler. Not only did our son enjoy the education he got, but really love being able to pet and feed the tortoises along with holding a baby alligator. Tyler is absolutely outstanding with children and adults. I highly recommend the private tour of Croc Encounters for $99 for up to 5 people.
