Theres a beautiful garden just behind the museum building to enjoy. The park ranger at the desk was super helpful with tips on how to walk around town and what to look out for.

Nice little museum about the history of Ybor City with an informative film, interesting displays, neighboring garden and tour of a typical cigar factory worker’s home. For only $4 it’s a great way to spend an hour or two. There’s lots of info about the founding of the town, the local cigar industry and immigrant communities.

Cool place overall! Got a short tour through one of the houses next door, got to watch a little video about how Ybor started up, and you can take a short self guided tour in the building too. Was pretty informative. I would recommend it if you want to learn more about the history of Ybor city and Tampa. Price was pretty reasonable too.

This little museum is part of the State of Florida Park System and is is worthwhile to visit it. The museum is housed in one of the bakeries building that provide the bread and pastries to the town until the middle of last century. Visitors see a 20 minutes video explaining interesting facts of Ybor City, the town that was the cigar manufacturing capital of the world for long time. The museum completes the history, and the volunteers docent tour you the casita where cigar workers used to live. Do not miss this museum in your visit to Ybor City ($4/pp).

This is a little museum that relates the history of the cigar industry in Tampa. The amount of information is unbelievable, this is one of the most interesting towns in USA, its migration configuration, the uniqueness of the industry that gave so much importance to Tampa and Florida, the social and cultural integration of the migrants that came from so different part of the world, the life they lived and the social improvements they attained are amazing. Do not miss this museum and the visit/tour to the Casita...

The visit to Ybor City State Park was excellent! The staff were extremely helpful, excited about their piece of history and the Ranger on duty even made sure my young son was entertained. Far above the call of duty. I found the tour itself was very interesting in learning more about our local history, the cigar industry and world events, particularly Cuban history. Cost of admission is only $4 per person and military, retired or active, who were wounded due to combat are free for life. Talk to the staff about this for more details.

I was fascinated to see how the original residents of Ybor lived and worked. My tour guide knew so much about the Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrants that started Ybor City and the tour of the casitas -- their original homes -- was absolutely fascinating. The tour started with a short film and then a walk through the casitas. Then I took my time and explored the musuem and checked out the original domed ovens that were used to bake cuban bread in Ybors original heyday. This is definitely worth the $4 admission and would be a great family outting.
