What a great place. $10 all you can play arcade games. I was in heaven. All the decor came from the owners personal collections. Tons of easter egg style goodies on the walls (save the clock tower fliers, magazine adds for the Family Truckster, ect.). Pin ball games are still 25/ 50 cents, but are torally worth it. Will definitely go back.
They have a good variety of games. Pinball, cocktail cabinets, racing cabinets and many of the classics I grew up with are present. Awesome 80s atmosphere. I hope that everyone will support our local arcade in these difficult times.
I cant say enough great things about this place. You pay an entrance fee and pay old video games from the 80s. Itll bring back old memories and make you appreciate the newer games. I spoke to the owners at length at my nieces birthday party and found them to be amazing people.
Good selection of classic video games in very good working condition..had fun!
Super fun place. Only $10 for an all day pass. They have tons of games to choose from.
Well I remember when most of those games came out and me and the neighborhood kids would go to the laundry mat or neighborhood market to play them. Just a lot of fun
It youre an 80s fan, than this place is the place to go. I will definitely be coming back here sometime.
2019.08.03 It cost $10 for all day, no quarters or tokens needed. The games have a BLUE button where the quarters go in and you press as many times as you like for as many credits you would like. (this helps you get to that end boss). The pinball games cost .50 cents each and is not part of the $10 dollars. (the few pinball games I played did not utilize two player. I would play three balls, then my friend could insert his .50 cents to play)You are allowed to leave and come back, just check in with the cashier before you leave. This place has a basement with video games and a small 80s living room where you can watch videos. They sell snacks / drinks and pizza by the slice.I had a great time and will definitely go back.PS just read online that they are celebrating 14 years in business. Bravo!
This place is the bomb! Every game you can think of. Pay once and play all day. It’s great. The owners are a blast to talk to and the theming is perfect!
Great place for nostalgic game play. But it left me feeling a yearning for games alittle more modern.
So much fun, brought back lots of memories. Will definitely go back.
Nostalgia galore. Love this place and my kid loves this place. All video games are free. Pinball games range in price from 50 cents to a dollar. Great place to have kids birthday parties down stairs. Truly an awesome place for kids to hang.
This is such a cool place! So many games and such a phenominal price! We had an absolute blast!
Absolutely great arcade. The people complaining that the games are old COMPLETELY missed the point of an old school video arcade existing. Its an awesome experience, would reccomend to anyone.
1984 offers a unique experience that anyone would enjoy!
I wish I could give them more than 5 stars . weve gone here every year for my sons birthday and tonight we are here because of his strait As on his report card the owners of this establishment have always been fantastic and such wonderful people.tonight I had to bring my 5 month old son with me and unable to walk around and enjoy the gaming so they kindly just let me sit here for free while my kids all play. that really warmed my heart I didnt think I could love this place or these people more but here I am loving this place and people more. such respect for a true family establishment
Great arcade always a god time when I go and the owners and employees are good people Ill definitely be a return customer
Great place to spend an evening.
Oh my gosh - I absolutely loved this place. I was born in the early 70s so this is definitely my era. My daughter (23 yrs old) told us to go a couple of years ago I believe it was. Well, now we did and so glad we did.Got into battling my 16 year old daughter (who beat me at most of the games). With that being said, its been a while since I have played. Well, okay - she had never played .You pay when you go in and it is good for all day. You can leave for a bit and go back that evening and play some more. I could go all day by myself easily. I had the new high score for Pac-Man before I left that evening. 4 out of 5 of our family loved it. One was just easily bored as she gets at most things we do (22 yrs old).My husband and I can not wait to go back by ourselves to battle it out. The staff was great. Super friendly. Very informative. Couldnt have asked for a better time!!
Awesome place full of nostalgia from a different era! Me and my 10 year old love going together, hes an avid gamer and calls it time traveling! Always asks to go back. Very detailed and I appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the ideas... oh! Be sure to pick up the phones and listen....!
Very cool place! We went for the first time 6 years ago when we were passing through Springfield. 2 floors of old arcade games, $7.50 to play all evening. Unfortunately, it was very crowded and we had to wait for machines :( but its good theyre getting good business! Parking is on the street, so we did have to walk a block to get to it, but we didnt mind.
I am so glad that 1984 is here. Very neat place has very cool games and pinball. I would love to see even more games that I miss so much. Thanks for the experience 1984!
This is a great place for big kids and parents both. I took my 11 year old and he has not stopped talking about it since. We are excited to go back. Its a great place for a fun and affordable night with kids.
2 stories worth of 80s nostalgia. A must visit for arcade lovers
Have always loved going to 1984 so we decided to do a private party from noon to 2pm today!! Was great having the whole place for us and our friends :) We had kids from 4 years old to almost 60 and everyone had a blast. Pinball is my favorite but the arcade games are awesome too! Really nice owners who just sat back and let us all have fun. Pretty cool to visit a place with all the nostalgia of my childhood and named for the year I was born. We will do another one of these private parties for sure!!
Great selection of classic arcade games. Super cheap, it costs 7.50 to enter and then the games are free to play. Great for all ages. One of my favorite places to go in my free time. Definitely reccomend.
First time visiting and first foot in the door I felt like a total child! Coming to 1984 made me wish I had been born in the 80s! There are so many games to play, most Ive never heard of but they look fun to play. Got there an hour before closing so I didnt get to play many games. Next time though I definitely will. I love the art, decorations, the 80s vibe the place created. Very good job there! Service was great as well. Cant wait to go back!
Great throwback arcade with a fun 80s theme. Reasonable fee for admission gets you unlimited video games. Bring along a few quarters for the pinball room.
Really fun place to hang out and play some old school games! If you havent been in a while though the price has gone up from $5 to $10. It was still worth it cause we showed up at 4ish, stayed to dinner, got some pizza down the street and were able to come back in when we were done eating and played till about 8.
Blast from the Past! Nice variety of Classic Arcade games. Check out Dr. Venkmans office and the library from Ghostbusters downstairs too...
It had some me of my favorite original video games and their staff was the best! I highly recommend it.
FUN place to enjoy arcade and pinball fun. Spent about 3 hours there tonight with my middle school aged son and he had so much fun. Clean and nice restrooms too! Recommended.
This place is SO FUN and super unique!!! My 12 year old loves this place and wanted to have his birthday party there... his grandpa also loved it because it reminded him of the good ol’ days. The staff is friendly and helpful. It seemed to me that they have learned how to find balance in letting the “kids have fun” while not letting teenyboppers take over the place.1984 is a blast from the past in the very best way!!!
The atmosphere was amazing. I loved the people running it, they were so kind and fun. Thought it was amazing to find out its family owned and operated. It was so much fun and most definitely family oriented.
Best retro arcade Ive ever been to. Tons of games, lots of rare vintage arcade games with a lot of variety! Great selection of pinball (which is extra but not horribly expensive). All in all, for $7.50 its a better deal for the more serious gamer then the trendy bar arcades back home in Kansas City.
Great place; has a lot of old arcade machines. I beat one of my friends in 1942.
Love taking the family here, the wife actually gets into it, and the kids run around trying to figure out which game to play next
We had my sons birthday party here. We rented it out prior to opening. They allowed us to bring in refreshments and we got to go to the basement to play as well. I highly recommend it for teens birthday parties.
Lots of games. Clean. $10 all you can play, but the downside is that it doesn’t include pinballs. Friendly staff. Great location. Good times! Highly recommend if you’re an avid arcade player or even not! If you are, check out Arcadia in McClean, Illinois!
So much fun! The owners are awesome!
Talk about bringing back memories! That place was awesome! Had all the games i remember blowing all my money on as a kid (okay, young adult. Okay, an adult with a job) but without having to shove a bunch of quarters in to play (except for the pinball machines. Bring your quarters). One low price ($7.50-steal!) and hours of fun!
Wish pinball was included in the price and wish there were more interactive games like carnival style. Like punching bags, bowling, basketball, strength tester, fortune teller etc.Bathroom was neat but expected a light up toilet with space sounds or glowing stars imbeded into the wall
Great nostalgia! I would suggest going later due to the kids enjoying the games earlier, they can overpower the 80s song hits. They do maintenance in early July, just got told today, so late July should be the best. I wear my sunglasses at night...
Great place the whole family will enjoy
Really really cool. Fun games, awesome atmosphere. Can get pretty packed but everyone was super cool about playing games and moving along so everybody got a chance.
Was cool nostalgic however was over it fairly quickly. Dissent feel like I got my $ worth. Worth going once. Every one was great!
Cool place. I love the concept of it! You pay and then can play as many games for as long as you like! Staff members were friendly. Definitely something unique to do. Not like any other arcade you can go to.
Very Authentic. Clean and Friendly!
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the best part Vets get in free.
We had a good time at a private party playing games and eating pizza!
We love it here. Ran by great people.
Absolutely loved it! Had a joint b-day party for 2 of my kiddos. The staff is friendly, the games were a blast from the past, and everyone had a great time. I definitely want to go back another time with my friends!
1984 is a great place to go for a couple of hours with friends. One small price to get in and then all the video arcade machines are set for free play. Hosts classics like Ms. Pacman, Robotron 2084, Omega Race, Star Wars, Joust, and Gauntlet. Absolutely worth going, especially as a group!
The most Totally Radical Place in the Midwest. A cant miss. Gotta get that high score in Galaga!!
The kids and I both had a great time here. The pinball machines were in great shape.
Im in love with this business!!! Great pricing structure. Tons of games from the 1980s and early 90s. Great decor! If you havent been yet, what are you waiting for? Take a step back in time to the glory days of gaming!
Had a great time! Would cone back again and would recommend for everything from date Nights to out of town friends!!
Love this place and I recommend it for anyone of all ages.
Great old school games! 80s music and art. Super cool!
Lots of fun and nostalgia if you were a kid in the 80s.
$7.50 got me an all evening pass (I assume that its actually all day I just showed up later.) We were able to leave for dinner & drinks (SBC is within easy walking distance) and not only return with no hassle but, be warmly welcomed back. With the exception of the pinball machines, both floors of the games are free to play. There is a lot to be said for playing nostalgic arcade games with friends. They had old favorites and a lot that Im not familiar with. I would like to see some more that were out when I was of age and arcades still existed; mainly shooters like Time Crisis. I will definitely be going back.
Awesome place! This was my second time here, even better than before, other than the Tron game being down for repairs. Theres a Bonus Level downstairs with more cabinets, party rooms and a retro living room set up. Concessions on the main floor by the door.
Took my boyfriend here as a surprise and 100% not disappointed! I cant wait to go here again and again. Without a doubt, would recommend to anyone.
Such a fun place to hang! Lots of great games that take you back! Love spending time here! The staff is amazing, and love to talk about all things geek!
My grandson had his 10th birthday celebration here and not only did the kids have fun, the grownups did as well. The facility was clean, well lighted and a great place for all ages to have fun, from a 7 year old to an 82 year old in our party. I will look forward to another event here.
Excellent night out with the wife or kids. They both enjoy it and I had an awesome time.
Booked a party room for my son. Had to reschedule due to weather conditions, 1984 was very accommodating and easy to work with! Day of party everything was perfect. Room was clean n set up waiting on us, games were so cool n staff very friendly
Very cool place! Games that I grew up playing and pinball games.
Date night with my husband and had a blast at 1984!
Fun place to hang out for any age!
I love this place! Perfect for any occasion! The staff is always so friendly and it is just such a rad place to hang out at. I love that they have some of the original pinball machines from the Williams Challenge collection! Taxi never gets old!
Fun, a true old school style arcade
Our family had a blast! Everyone is super friendly, this is one of our favorite places to go have fun and enjoy ourselves without spending a ton of money!
Coolest arcade Ive seen in years
All the best arcades of the 80s. Pay to get in and games are free. Play from 4 to 11. Machines in great shape. Great stop for multi-event dates. Great bonding moments for me and my son as we played games my father and I played together decades ago.
This is my favorite place in all of Springfield. Arkanoid is such a good game!
You gotta go experience it for yourself fun for all ages
I love this place I wish I could go back
Definitely a step back in time. They have a great selection of games and an awesone 80s vibe atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful too.
Love the old school video games!
This place is amazing!! There are a lot of amazing arcade games and some awesome pinball machines. Its only $7.50 per person for the rest of the evening. Great value. Very nice and friendly staff.
Like stepping back to a better time! Super friendly place to hang out.
I have visited 1984 a few times, but the last time we took my 10 year old son. He has been talking about 1984 every time we visit Springfield and wants to go back. He absolutely loves the selection of games! I personally love the pinball machines. His uncle, him, and myself ended up playing rampage till closing. It has become a cherished memory for all of us. We will be back to make new memories as soon as we can!
What a blast from the past. Nostalgic, I could not stop smiling
Fun arcade with free nostalgic video games, pinball pay to play. Also has various 80s themed rooms and loads of 80s memorabilia. Good for hours of fun!
Great place
Pretty cool, but only has stairs to lower level.
Cool place that reminds me of when I was a kid. We went there for a friends child birthday party. They had all of the popular games from that era so I was able to re-live a little bit of my childhood. Fun place!
Great place to kill a few hours, could be a great date or birthday party. The owners or workers are really sweet and seemed to really enjoy what theyre doing. Definitely planning to come back.
Couldnt ask for a better arcade!!
