This is also trail head for the sangamon valley trail head. Great trail for bikes, walking and running. Only thing to be aware of there are several roads you have to stop to observe traffic.

Beautiful, wide open park with Playground, tennis courts, picnic areas, a long paved trail and a Large Hill for a climbing challenge and sledding. Theres also a paved path that winds to the top of the hill. Easy to pick out a place for solitude, as you can clearly see everything.

Structure is dynamic enough for my 3.5yrs old. I like how the park is away from streets with big area of grass around the playground. Its perfect to ride bicycle around the park on the trail. Portable bathroom is the only downside of the park because its not very clean. I would love to go here for a little picnic or for kids to play.

The park is close enough to the ballpark for the younger children to play while parents watch the game and they can also still see the younger children at the park from every angle.

Great multifunctional park. Complete with bocce ball courts, soccer fields(No goals) baseball fields, big playground, pond, big manmade hill that has a paved sidewalk leading up it, picnic tables, smaller pavilions and more. I am only aware of portopoties and it is more open and has less shade than some other parks in springfield.
