Amazing park. Caught a great sunset on a bench tonight. Hardly any people out.

This was my first time to island park and Ive lived in Eugene for 40 years. I was missing out this whole time by not coming here. I randomly came here and experienced a new appreciation for Springfield. Im going to check out some others after seeing this neat little park.

Close to home, yet feels like its miles away. Lots of shade and open fields for playing fetch with the pooch. And water for swimming when it gets hot. And its never really crowded so it makes social distancing a, walk in the park. Lol

Its peaceful always clean play area for the kids water for kids and adults bathrooms are always clean and stocked

Good place to boat launch. Walking path and trails. Jungle gym for kids. Its nice.

Used the river water as bing water and it was so crisp and clean that it was better than ice water

When when the willamalane parks District does something, it does not do it in half measures this park is one of Springfields oldest and is situated on a particularly Scenic stretch of the Willamette River right by the Main st historic Bridge into downtown Springfield. the bathrooms are almost always clean, the playground equipment is also clean and not graffiti and considering the high traffic and extensive usage this Park gets, they do a super job with seasonal flowers, cutting the grass, etc - - making it look like a place youd want to take your whole family

Love it. Great place to chill, enjoy nature, just relax.

This park has plenty of sun and shade and is right next to the river, which is nice on hot days. The parking lot isnt very big. There is a lot of open grassy area under trees to throw a frisbee or have a picnic. Just watch for closures due to the Fourth Of July celebrations (the 3rd, 4th and 5th to set up and clean up after the fireworks show they put on there) and safety closures due to high river levels (more common in the winter).

I give it 3 stars. It was the warmest water Ive found in Eugene so far. The bottom was a bit muddy but I found some rocks to stand on eventually. Yay!

Fun place to lay low or bring the kids

Beautiful and clean. Big and lots of shade. Has a small play ground and an area for family gatherings with tables and shade.

Shady on hot days. River close by to cool off or to start floating. Great place for the kids to burn off energy, easy I-5 Access and big enough to have space. Green grass, restrooms, tables and water fountains.

Not a bad park to take your kids and pets to, so sad to see lot of homeless people there and be careful when you are at the rivers edge, they hide lot stuff in the bushes.

A ton of super gorgeous plant life! Well worth checking out. Learned about the Millrun established in 1883 from the little info but there.

Its a very beautiful Park to take your kids to nice playground and water for the kids to play in and a little wooded area that you could walk through

All different types of activities for all different age groups from playing in the river with easy access to playground equipment has bathrooms and picnic shelters.

There is spots all along the sides for everyone. People kept their distance from one another. Not a lot of shade unless your near the tree line.

Beautiful! I love biking around the paths, or running with my cats on leashes! The park even has a playground! People should go here.

A beautiful city park with a playground & picnic shelter. Tons of geese & ducks are fun to watch but please do not feed them.

Nice park to walk around, but dont leave your kids/items unattended due to homeless/drug users that tend to pretty much live there (especially in the back paths and by the river)

Pretty park my bike trails run through. play stretchers for the kids with ducks and geese, and many different events get held here throughout the year

This place can be very sketchy at times High concentration of Junkies and homeless, watch out for needles. City of Springfield is doing a good job of cleaning up this place and its starting to turn around, Im starting to feel like I could have lunch here without being propositioned by a hooker. But without hookers and homeless people what would street photography be?

The benches are disgracefully low, clean it up.

Light of Libery Celebration ...Family Tradition.It was fabulous. The band was amazing, fun for the kids, good food, fireworks were good... Trees are getting in the way though but still a great time.

I appreciate this drop in. We love this park. I wish there was a strong patrol presence of some kind. The people using the park for shady stuff seems like its on the rise.

Great during the day and sketchy at night.

Large family day park surrounded with well kept grounds and greenery as the river runs by. You may even see some kyackers or rafters floating by. At one end of the park you you have a open air stage platform while the other end of the park theres a large playground area with lots of parking available. Dogs are aloud on a leash. There is a boat ramp as well a covered shelter for picnics and gatherings. Flushing toilets. Sidewalks. Wheelchair friendly. Bring your own food n drinks. No shops in this park. So relax and enjoy your stay.

WOW Springfield is really looking great.And day island park is SUPERB their bathrooms are cleaned at LEAST WEEKLY the sidewalks are cleaned ofGoose droppings And you get such a great view of the river. Beautiful place to take a walk with the family. Nice playground, benches, well maintained grass, right by the water. A nice loooong path by the water. Fun for swimming in the summer and a nice stroll in the fall/winter.

I love going early in the morning. Theres ducks and geese and generally not a whole lot of people. The river is so pleasant to see. Very calm and peaceful.

Its a nice park, it would be even better if they cleared out the homeless and the drug users. Go only during the day, stay in the populated areas, watch your kids, keep your dogs on a leash. There are needles laying around.

Highland Park is traditionally known for the spot that the community gathers whenever anything is important it happens at Day Island Park this park is good for bike path activities it has paved sidewalks and unpaved Hiking along the river great for exploring and good for family outings. I always enjoy this park. Its right on the river so it stays a little cooler. The ducks are always around in the warm months, and geese too. There are some good shady spots as well as sunny spots. There is a bathroom - thats always good.

Great for a walk with the dog.

Laying along side the Willamette river in Springfield its a Gem

Great Place To Ground one Self

The best park in Lane county. Beautiful landscaped grounds, bar-b-que, covered picnic benches, a river you can raft down, ducks geese and squirrels aplenty. Two playgrounds for the kids with safety in mind. If your passing through Springfield/Eugene on the I-5, stop by and relax a little. You wont be disappointed.

I love Day Island Park, except for there are hardly any picnic tables there any more! I was real upset when we came here to have my moms memorial like we have yearly, & there are no more tables!

Island Park is very peaceful except for the loud geese. If you need to get through the geese just walk slowly and quietly. Lots of parking, wheelchair accessible, a playground or picnic areas which you can rent out. There are benches to sit on and if you walk far enough there is a stage.

Beautiful park right by the river. Lots of ducks to see, paths to walk, gazebos to eat under, and a playground.

BI MART ON RIVER I AWESOME ...THE STAFF IS SOO NICE & VERY HELPFUL..LONGEST IVE EVER HAD TO WAIT TO GET A PRESCRIPTION FILLED IS 20 MINS !! THEY ALWAYS HAVE SOME GOOD DEALS ...IM A SMALL TOWN GIRL FROM A FARMING COMMUNITY SO BI MART WAS OUR DEPARTMENT STORE . IT HAS THAT SMALL TOWN FEEL & FEELS LIKE HOME I RECOMMEND IT !

Such a beautiful walk by the lake. Also a great spot to start a float down the river! Just wish the bathrooms were kept up with a little bit more!

Adequate place to put in or take out any river type boat. Take precautions with parked vehicles to avert theft. There is a whole range of humans that also use this park. Ive found needles there, there arent year round unlocked restrooms, and there tends to be a fair amount of garbage around. Its free to access, though... So that is nice.

Big fun park. Great places to picnic and enjoy a walk around nature and it has a place for kids to keep busy.

The ducks are agro. Totally worth it.

Its a quiet walk around the park.

Island park has a playground, covered picnic area, grills, it’s right on the water and the bike paths take you to Eugene or further into Springfield. It’s paved and suitable for wheelchairs. There are geese and ducks that live in the park at the waters edge. There are huge trees and lovely green spaces.

Went to The Light of Liberty festival here. Grounds are nice. The playground surface remodel was definitely an improvement. Never been here other that 4th of July festivities so no idea what its like on normal days.

Great place for events it was a Dari Mart event and it was a kids celebration they had a great thanks going on for all the children pony rides jump house train rides and all these little functions where you spin the wheel on all these different little tent areas and you got prizes for the kids free grilled cheese has little slices and cookies this is for the event for celebrating the children I love Park and I think that its great that they can have these events there

Right by the river! Bike and pedestrian paths that link to Eugene. Great park for gatherings, picnics, whatever! Lots of parking too!
