Its a nice visit if youre into architecture and specifically FLW and his masterpieces. The house is kept in great condition and the tour guides are very knowledgeable, always willing to answer questions and provide more information on demand. I loved that I could take pictures inside unlike some other FLW homes I have visit. My only critique is that the souvenir shop wasnt that well stocked; I would have loved to see more items specific to Westcott House as opposed to generic unrelated items

Because of our exceptional guide, John, this home gets a 5. As a Springfield native, he was able to share many stories to make this FLW home come alive. The preservation team did an amazing job bringing the home back to its original state. Not the most interesting of FLW homes but still worth a visit to compare with his later designs.

Group of seven for the 1:00 tour. Tour started on time with a knowledgeable elderly lady who was eager to share. Great tour with great information on how Westcott came to be. It was some of FLW earlier works so you don’t see some of the “bells and whistles “ you normally see with FLW, but impressive what the they did to get this FLW home up and running for the public. Only downside, albeit minuscule, gift shop somewhat overpriced, no purchases here. I recommend, thumbs up.

Amazing home . The tour made my day.the guide was fantastic. Our tour was at 4:00p.m on a Sunday. They close at 5:00p.m.We didnt feel rushed at all. I hated to leave. The place is that interesting. The people who restored and preserve the house put so much time into the home really deserve an applause for all that they do. A real treasure in Springfield, Ohio .

Im an architect, so I felt admit to some bias. The conservancy did an amazing job restoring the house. The docent (Dave) that showed me the house was well versed in Wrights practice, theory and lore as well as the history of the house and the Westcott family. The tour included a video featuring Eric Wright (Franks grandson) and footage of the restoration in progress. This is a must see for architecture pilgrims and casual tourists alike.

Westcott House is not a completely restored home as some historic houses have been. This reduces the value of the touring experience. The lack comes because FLW designed furniture was lost over the many years the building was split into several individual apartments before the conservancy came in and bought the building. A Springfield foundation bought the building from the Wright Conservancy and helped pay for the restoration. After several millions of dollars worth of work the building is beautiful but mostly unfurnished. There arent many original photos of the house much less the furniture. The staff and volunteers are enthusiasts of the highest order and very knowledgeable about the Westcott House. I enjoyed the tour and would recommend this for any FL Wright fan.

Ive taken the tour and it is definately worth it. Springfield is fortunate to have this turn of the century treasure. This house was extensively refurbished to its original look. A great example of Frank Lloyd Wrights architectural syle. It also comes with a very interesting story behind its construction. Tours are offered year round. Parking is streetside near the watertower on the hill.
