Very nice trail and beautiful lake.

We play soccer in the indoor field. It is ok. I believe the prices are high for what it is.I do not like how the gate in the back is always open. Lighting could be better. And the field needs serious cleaning; there is so much trash and broken tables inside. I do not understand why those are inside. They rent it out for so much money and it is always packed! Don’t know why not hire some company to trash all the broken tables and trashy rolls!!!!

Used it for the Lake Mercer trailhead, all the way at the back. Awesome ~4 mile trail with some moderate hills for a run. Beautiful scenery the whole way and not crowded.

Its very difficult to get 6:30 AM time lap swim reservation, because only 3 laps are available. And today, the online reservation system wasnt even updated. The online reservation system doesnt allow to modify signups. You will have to call to modify signups. Also, their phone recording doesnt reflect the current opening hours.

Great place for swimming lessons! Kids learned a lot

Although I have been a previous member of South Run RECenter, this is my first time enrolling in a class in several years. The Center still appears well cared for, inviting, safe, and clean. Free parking available and the grounds well cared for. The staff member who eneolled me was pleasant, informative and helpful. I expect to continue enjoying the Center.

Our son take swimming lessons here and we are always impressed with the maintenance of the pool. The instructors are always amazing and so kind and helpful. The locker rooms are always clean and sanitary. We havent visited other areas but I imagine theyre just as well maintained.I give 4 stars because the brats at the desk should be slinging trash instead of working with the public.

Had the most amazing birthday/Pool party in their rental rooms. The staff had everything set up and ready for us upon arrival. The pool was a great temperature and very large with varying depths which is great for the little ones. The facility is very large and there’s even a walking trail around the lake behind the Rec center. After family and friends raved about how great the party location was, I’m considering a membership!

Ive been coming to this pool since I was a baby. Staff is always nice and informative. Pool is usually kept to very clean standards. The kids section could be cleaner, but I cant complain too much about cleanliness. Im sure the staff has stepped up their game since my last visit. They usually have high standards when it comes to being sanitary. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a nice indoor pool, spacious playground for the kids, well kept fields for sports and practice, nice gym, fitness classes and training, racquetball, and overall good quality rec center!

Aquatic (Pool) Experience:Pee Wee swim lessons disorganized - no consistent instructor and no show one week. Suggested re-enrollment in same class by random instructor due to lack of progression in that class. Parents left just as confused as children with actual class objectives (half the time spent by instructor chasing a wandering child from another part of the pool). No operational oversight of how classes are being run from parent perspective. When I did finally comment - I was told I should’ve asked for my money back.We elected for open swim to teach our children to swim. I recently delivered our 3rd child and cannot go in pool for 6 weeks. We brought a neighborhood friend with us to go in pool with our child (who can’t swim) and were asked to leave and told “immediate” family are only allowed to work with children in the pool despite my disclosure of personal medical information.Very disappointed in a “community” center being so prohibitive during an open swim (in a nearly empty pool) yet more than uninvolved with their immediate staff/employees/swim instructors during group classes.

Nicely equipped gym for most peoples needs. Annual membership is competitive with commercial clubs. Many courses offered for young and not-so-young.

Beautiful facility tucked away in the woodlands of Springfield! Friendly helpful staff checked my ID for proper procedure protocol to pick up my granddaughter. I would expect nothing less!

I used to come here a decade ago and it hasnt changed one bit. There is a nice shady playground for younger and older kids outside which is nice. Everything else is pretty outdated and crowded. Its also pretty dark inside for a rec center. Doesnt make me want to workout or feel happy.

Great playground for young kids, though there was an odor of dog poo today.

This was a great Juried Craft Show. Sunday hours too. The Holidays will be here before we know it.

This a good rec center for your basics but there are definitely rec centers with more facilitiesin Fairfax county.

We like the pool at this rec center. Great for kids with the long slope leading into the water.

Me, my daughter and my nephew were gonna go to the pool, but all the times we have went there for my daughters class they would let us in. Then the manager was at the front desk and didnt let my nephew get in the pool. So when my daughters class was over my nephew got only his feet in the water for only 30 seconds. Then a life guard said he cant get in. So we decided to leave, she was waiting for us so the manager was laughing and saying Its $6.50 just because my nephew put his feet in the water for 30 seconds. She also said she was the manager. So thats why I give it 1 star! She revealed she was watching my Nephew the whole time while we were at the pool. She argued with me about paying. I told her How am I gonna pay $6.50 for 30 seconds at the pool! so she said Yes, you have to pay with a snarky smile on her face. We argued and then we left without paying because we were tired of arguing

Great playground that I didnt know existed until today. It has shaders over a lot of it and the rec center is right there of anyone needs a bathroom break.

Its very welcoming and has plenty to do and the pool is very nice it goes up to 12 feet

Olympic size pool for Adults and a nice one babies also, A great place to enjoy with Family, lots of changing and shower space, clean building and grounds, friendly staff lots of friendly people open to the public my first experience there was very nice.

The Best! A very friendly place. Super clean, well equipped gym. Beautiful pool. Great trails and fields. Awesome, helpful staff. There is a first class personal trainer in the gym named Linda. If youre older and need help with training and/or nutrition, Linda B is the person you want.

The weightroom is really low energy. Pool is nice. Fields are good.

Tremendous amount of open space. Four sports fields/courts. Indoor swimming pool with meets and lessons. Decent fitness center with child care available during certain hours. Two playgrounds, which are covered during the hot months. Nice path to Burke Lake. The largest developed recreational space for miles. Sometimes good for bleacher picnics and kite flying.

Great outdoor playground for kids. We also went inside, and enjoyed a common room and swimming in the pool!

Great Rec Center, membership is a bit pricey but it has a good pool and gym. Plus a racquetball court which is a bonus. Please like this review if it was helpful.

The pool schedule is tricky. It happened to me several times, that the pool and spa were closed and there was no schedule online or if I tried to call nobody picked up the phone. The facility is very nice otherwise, hovewer must say not the cleanest. The gym is up to date, and clean and the lockers are just okay. Jacuzzi is great when open. There is a small sauna, works great. showers are okay, not the cleanest, so dont forget to bring some flip flops.

Great place to play Soccer and Tennis. The Tennis courts have light so you can also play at night. Nice green areas and a big parking lot. Would be great if they build a second indoor soccer field, that would be awesome.

A local place to work out or bring your dog to have fun.

Really nice pool. However the floors are absolutely treacherous. Its like navigating a giant slip and slide all the way through the changing rooms.

Great community center!

Don’t come here for swim lessons. We purchased private swim lessons or our kid, and the instructor cancelled scheduled lessons twice the day of, citing a “family event” both times. After the second cancellation, I reached out to the lesson coordinator for a new instructor. The coordinator said it was “impossible” to get a new instructor. I then asked her to call me so we could sort this out, and she refused, saying she prefers to communicate over email. I then asked for a refund, and she never responded. I had to go in person and fill out a form to get my refund. The icing was I had to plead to not have a refund “fee” charged. If you have another option for lessons, use it.

This place could be great it they actually took care of their heavy weights. The machines and cardio equipment and pretty decent but their barbells are so rusty that it can be difficult to put plates on the bar. The pool also isnt bad. Just remember to bring a towel. You can buy some from here but they are $4 for a tiny hand towel.

Eclectic sports complex hosting numerous summer day camps and a large dog run. Parking can be tight this time of year near main building.

Very good place to go to and they have arts and crafts shows in the fall

South Run has a great swimming facility, especially for young children. The pool has a large gradual entry area that slopes down. The swim classes are very good, the teachers are engaged and I like that they dont use floaties so the children can learn to move in the water.

I like it very beautiful playgrounds good organized clean on that is good schedule. Kids can play always I bring my kids there

Decent facility with friendly staff. Used primarily for weight training and swimming. Open lap swimming was frustrated by poor and changing lane markers (fast/medium/slow). Further frustrated by folks doing water aerobics in the lanes and not being consolidated.

Its another rec center but it is pretty large and is well maintained.

Great pool good jacuzzi good sauna good place for work out been going there for over 30 years however recently had one of the child lifeguards irresponsibly blow his whistle as hard as he possibly could indoors well covering his ears. Blew out my eardrums just cuz he was goofing around with the other lifeguards now my ears are ringing. Very unprofessional assault on my hearing. Complained to the Lifeguard and the manager but two days later my ears are still ringing thanks a lot for hiring children and trusting them with a dangerous whistle was apparently too much responsibility for that young man now Im paying the price

South Run is an excellent recreation center with up to date facilities and helpful staff.

Sometimes theres a good mix of dogs, and sometimes youll be the only one in the entire park. Its a crap shoot. More dirt than grass. Very easy to leave with a filthy dog. Most of the dog owners are friendly, but some dont handle or clean up after their dogs. Lots of seating area for owners and theyre usually good about keeping the dogs off the benches and tables.

Excellent open fields for the kids to run their hearts out. Large dog park as well. There is also indoor field and swimming pool.

A great place for rec center lessons in Fairfax county for the kids. Has a great playground to keep everyone happy.

Beautiful little gem I discovered not too long ago. Great place to bring the family or friends and just relax.

Viewing area for swim meets is pretty small and can get very cramped.

So many options for families and individuals at all stages of life. I recommend at least stopping by and seeing what is available. So glad this is close to where I chose to live.

Pools are so crowded especially night time. It’s not clean as cub run center in Chantilly. Locker rooms are horrible and a lot caresses people around as well. I’m taking class bir after that I never come this location again

South Run rec center has great classes for seniors.

A lot of family fun stuff to do

This facility overall is okay. Ive tried two different yoga classes and the scheduled walleyball group and they did not provide an adequate level of fitness for me. Those classes would be more appropriate for a person who is a beginner, older, and/or out of shape. The pool area has some wear and tear, but there is a beach walk in pool for smaller kids and another area for lap swimming.

A large park and rec center with multiple sports fields, courts, and trails to some of the most popular outdoor attractions (and some hidden ones too).

Much has not changed over the years. The old field house used to be clay/dusty dirt but besides that it is a great park with a even better location.

This building is not very well kept and js very dated. Its really disappointing that the showers have no shower curtains for decency considerations for people of different religions or persons of other convictions l. I dont want to see other people naked nor be seen naked.

Great place for family and friends

This place is the winter/bad weather retreat for me and my mates to get some tekkers in. Behind the Rec Center is the field house with an indoor turf that we use to ball when its too cold out. Its usually open until 11PM and there is parking right outside of the facility. Picked up some hidden gems in the Lost and Found there as well.

Large dog park which is good for your dog and avoiding strange dog park people. No running water, though.

I love the pool space not like One-Life has but, the child care isnt very good like One-Life has.

Since when do gyms require a whole years worth of membership up front?! This must cater to the rich. Every gym( even through the city) has been a monthly payment. Thats stupid. Not everyone can simply pull out 960 bucks out of their pocket. Now I have to go somewhere else. Not everyone is rich.
