(Right hand side) Beautiful path to walk on, flat concrete surface. You can enjoy the nature & the sound of the water passing by. This side is safe. There’s signs of wild life but nothing crazy. I only saw birds, squirrels and lots of butterflies. If you go towards the left hand side you feel sketch vibes going under the bridge, towards the end of the path there are very tall green plants and the path gets more narrow, then you can “through the creek” Nope! All the sketch vibes, it felt like a scary movie scene. Not for me probably horse back riding there or with a group of ppl but not alone. No thanks. I had an overall good experience though. Enjoy!
This little hidden gem in LA County is a must see. bring the family and bring the bicycles or just go for a walk. its near legg lake, and part of the whittier narrows natural wildlife preserve area. you forget youre middle of the city. I love this place and visit it as much as I can!!
It’s a very quiet area to walk and relax, close to the urban area. And secluded from the noise of the City.
Nice little park.Great place to park for a bike ride.
Not so pet friendly. Lots of ticks. Be careful..
Several homeless camps along the bike bath, need a trash pickup crew out there as well. Scenic spot with some nice angles.
Great place to get away from it all
Good place very beautiful
Its very nice, but does not feel too safe
A lot of homeless people watch out..alot of Cops... So. Thats good!! Its safe..
Rode my bicycle here one day it was close also a good resting area.
Best place to blaze
There are old men cruising here.
Exelente to walk with you
Ok
Really pretty place to go for a walk. Unfortunately there is a lot of trash and you also have to be careful with the wildlife. Other then that its beautiful.
I really enjoy it!
Nice and relaxing
I usually just park here for the bike trail. Its pretty and looks safe but Ive only been during the day. On the bike trail there are many homeless but Ive noticed that on many bike trails in Los Angeles.
Yes Scott Ross the mission was here, what is amazing,is where the first settlement was is one of the last open spaces of Los Angeles county
Good place to relax
It would give this place more stars if it didnt have so many homeless drug addicts living in the bushes.
Its a good place to get the exercise your doctor recommends. I began coming here because I wanted to ride my bike without the fear of being hit by a car. You do encounter other people walking, jogging, or cycling, which helps create a sense of safety. This is important because although it seems like a simple place to burn some calories, theres quite a handful of homeless residents along the correlating bike path and river. A live and let live mentality will help you care less about the unknown people residing here, but it can be difficult when there are piles of garbage and people getting under the influence in plain sight. Besides that, the view is a pleasurable one. With an abundance of different flora, youll want to stop by and admire through your own eyes or photography. Be wary of the fauna, as sometimes an occasional coyote with be within view.
Great place to come for a walk or bike ride. Its usually pretty quiet here. Downside is, there are a lot of homeless people who frequently shower in the restrooms in the parking area and some of them are weirdos who creep around in the bushes off the trail. I probably wouldnt recommend for a female to walk the trail alone here.
Its a beautiful place for some alone time to sit, be with nature, reflect or meditate... Or even have lunch and do some photography....a real hidden gem
Nice and quiet. Good place to run
Cut through here today to get past the $h!t$tR0m of traffic on the 60 East. Who decided to close the onramp the the 605? Whos idea was that?
Great place to get away
Alot of homeless campers in the river but I like the face value like trails and mini adventures to be had... Many more aswell
A nice little park right next to a bike trail.
Nice walking path or bike ride
Amazing. Wish they could leave it open a little later.
A.Y.O.R...homeless...burned out mess.Somewhat dangerous..
The water its clean so nice
Great trails. A lot of goodcterrain.
The precious reviewers must be joking, right? There is nothing here! It is a nice open space, and there are signs indicating the San Gabriel Mission was originally built right around here. But a flood in 1774 (!) destroyed the church and washed away any evidence it had ever been there.
I liked the uphill and riverside beauty
Lotta tire kickers!
Yeah, really nice view.
Homeless camps, no river, very sad to see
Great place! Be sure to have exact change $5.00 to pay for parking! Put in envelope and place in dropbox. Checks accepted.
This park is good for short nature walks, or to have a picnic and just hang out.
Stay away from the river area under the bridge. Theres crazy people doing vodoo there and the ground near the mini waterfalls is unstable.
The trail is good for walking, hiking, bicycling and you may see some wildlife
Nada good spiritual set. Backs
Random spot corner or San Gabriel and Rosemead
Dont go of the bikepath, homeless are extremely territorial and rude also they use the grounds as a public toilet.
Very quiet and clean
