Thunder Mountain Trail was a fun moderate hike. The views can be breathtaking from specific points along the hike. The terrain rises and falls to provide a good exercise walk around the beautiful massive rock formation.

Small parking lot with room for 10 or so, no permit needed and some shade. Great variety of hikes that connect if you desire something longer. Power lines aren’t really in the way compared to the beauty of this hike

Loved this hike! Only my second time hiking, and it was a bit more challenging and steeper, but you dont realize how high youve hiked until you get there! Wonderful morning!

Beautiful vistas! Not made for those who like to take the easy route - took me 1.5 hours to do about 2 miles, but thats partially because I went through Chimney Pass between the mountains, which is fairly difficult for someone who isnt used to hiking much. Paths are narrow in many places and as a hiker you have to watch for mountain bikers - seems thats what the trail is mostly for.

Upper chimney rock loop + little sugarloaf steep summit loop. Hiking poles help

Only stayed for an overnight trip and it was cloudy out, but still managed to get a few short hikes in, these were from teacup trail, it was well worth it!

Great place for several hikes. We’ve done several hikes that either start here or intersects here. Good parking and fairly good hike markers.

Easy fun hike, uneven trail so just watch your step but I would say this hike could be done by a determined beginner or moderate hiker!

We were only in Sedona overnight, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I wish we had more time to explore. I really wanted to see the Supta, but we couldnt find it on our hike.

Nice, quiet trailhead, only a few cars in the parking lot. If you want to get away from the Sedona crowds, go here.

Easy to access trail from a few different directions. You can do just a loop or extend your hiking for a longer experience. The trail goes up and down but is not too difficult. I would say moderate. Is decent even for those who are not regular hikers. A hiking stick is helpful but not required. Really beautiful scenery in all directions. No facilities along trail or in parking lot so go to restroom, rake your water and hat at minimum.

Good trailhead. You can just walk a short way and sit on a bench. If you walk up hill to the northwest, there is a trail that wraps around Chimney Rock and after a mile returns you to the parking area.
