Pretty cool photo spot but hard to get the pools in there. And without water in them they just look like holes in the ground hahah
Great place to hike and take in all the scenery and nature around you!
Get there early, parking opens at 8am. I recommend having some one drop you off before 7 am, you can still get on the trail by the entrance. Trail has a tendency to get crowded by 9 - 10am.
Sedona is filled with spectacular views. The Seven pools did not overwhelm me as much as many of the others.
All trails in Sedona are awesome. However, the pools are dry this time of year.
Its more like the seven sacred dirty puddles, but the trail is cool and pretty easy. Do yourself a favor and keep going up the trail to the caves, which are much cooler! Also, be careful not to park anywhere but the tiny parking lot, otherwise you will get a citation.
This place was nice, but a bit underwhelming, especially if you go during the hot, dry season; the pools were nothing but mud puddles. On a positive note, the scenery all around was 360° breathtaking. Were the pools worth it? Probably not, but the rest of the area was deliciously scenic.
Nice relatively easy trail called Soldiers Pass to the pools with other special stops such as views of surrounding Red rocks, a caved in caver called Devils Kitchen then the pools. Easly you can see 3 of them. I guess the other ones are down the stream so not visible
Seven Sacred Pools...what can I say...I hate to be a pessimist. I was just expecting a little more from the pools. They make for some absolutely beautiful photos. But the pools themselves were a bit of a let down. My guess is they look better after it rains up here. It hasnt rained in a while, so one of the pools is almost completely dried up, and the others are just...gross. BESIDES that though!! This is still a gorgeous and scenic hike. It is not bad at all, so I feel like any skill level can do this hike. Its only 1.1 miles, so its not bad at all. If youre up here when its hot, I would suggest a hat. If youre from Phoenix its probably nothing for you. I sweat a lot, but had no hat and didnt even wear my shades. Anything is a break from the Phoenix sun. I would absolutely still suggest this hike. There are many beautiful places to take photos. The pools are very easy to miss, as they go down, and if you continue to walk the Soldiers Pass Trail, youll just walk right past them. We almost did, and were lucky enough to have them pointed out by a tourist. If you pass it though, its likely youll see it on your way back! Check out our pics.
We were lucky to get a permit on Easter weekend. However it was fun, short and sweet. We took our jeep, I bet the hiking trails are awesome.
No water. Nice well maintained trail. Good signs.
It is a good area to hike, there are Jeep tours there too. That being said it should not be the sole destination of your journey, just something to see along the way.
Nice and easy trail. The pools were half empty, and had lots of flies. I was expecting something better ( think it would be better looking if there was running water).
I felt a presence here. I am serious. What an amazing place this must have been a thousand years ago before the Europeans came here.
Beautiful stop. We saw along the way of soldiers pass trail 66.
One of the best hikes we had in Sedona. We have to pass by Soldiers pass trail before we reached the sacred pools. We almost got lost but thanks to google map. We went here around May, the weather was perfect, not so warm, not really cold.
Cool, but only six pools had water this time of year.
Moderate hike mostly flat with slight inclines. Some parts of the trails are not marked well so need to pay attention. Just beautiful. Don’t miss the 7 sacred pools. Great photo op. Highly recommend.
Perfect moderate hike for toddlers.
Picturesque great hike with my 11yr old son.
This is a beautiful spot, a must visit and experience.
Very short and easy hike where you get to see and appreciate the Seven Sacred Pools, Devil’s Kitchen, and Coffee Pot Rock.Would definitely recommend to do it in Spring or early Summer so they are a little more filled with water and can be enjoyed fully.
Great hike ! Lots of hikers though so get there early
The pools were very small and because it hasnt rained, the water is stagnant.
I expected them to be larger or more dramatic. Still a great hike and worth the journey.
This is in the soldiers pass trail..So beautiful but it gets crowded early so be there by 8 am
Great place to see in AZ.
A little less water than we were hoping for but lots of pools to look for critters in!
Such an awesome hike to see the Seven Sacred Pools and Devils Kitchen Sinkhole. We took the Jordan Trailhead to meet up with Soldiers Pass and then followed Cibola Trail back to our car! So beautiful
This was a great hike, beautiful scenery and several connecting trails. Dont miss the sinkhole, it is very deep.
Pretty hike, easy.
If you are gonna start at soldiers pass trailhead get there before 8 am lot is very small however you can park at the trailhead that takes you brins mesa and its only maybe a mile longer but its a huge lot .
Really cool trail.
The red rock formations. the red dirt underfoot, natural stone stairs for inclines, the wild foilage, the entire hike is mesmerizing! So beautiful! Its an easy hike for all levels. A must see and a must do to experience!
I was looking for the teapot trail to coffeepot rock and somehow ended up here. The pools are like puddles and a nearby tour guide gave us some facts about the area. Short hike but you could continue to soldiers pass, no water at the trailhead.
Worth the hike. Easy hike.
Was so amazing
Pretty cool scenery to look at. To get here, just follow the Soldiers Pass Trial. Its roughly just a mile into the trail and you should come across the pools. When youre done here, head right back to the Soldiers Pass Trail and in roughly 0.7 miles, youll reach a trail branching out to your right that will lead you to the Arch.
Took a while to find the seven pools. It may depend on the time of the year whether some of the pools are actually filled with water but I did end up counting 7. This is a good stopping point while on the way to soldier pass.
Zombie Crawlers Jeep Club invaded the area, so much beauty and amazement all over...
Beautiful view and scenic spot
I absolutely loved this hike. Its short, but you end up at a cool little spot where you can just relax and enjoy yourself. My friend and I took our kids and it was perfect for them,it wasnt to long and the terrain was easy to get around on.
Parking lot very small. Plan to park and walk in. Nice trail.
Worth the hike, the views are beautiful. The seven pools where smaller than I thought but what do you want for the desert.
They were empty, so really they were name Seven Secret Basins
Easy to spot on the trail and great for sunset photography.
We chose this spot to say happy birthday to a dear friend in heaven while away on our anniversary trip. The Pools werent as full as we thought, especially with the full 24 hours of rain the day before, but they were still absolutely beautiful. When we got there, there were a few hikers and bikers, but then, in the blink of an eye, it was quiet and we were alone. We honored our friend in peace, then I got the opportunity to get some amazing pictures. Which of course I have yet to upload! Lol There are so many trails to hike or bike through here and at every turn, there are beautiful scenes of the Rocks. The hike is easy. There were a few spots where it was slippery from the rain and mud, but with a good pair of hiking boots or shoes, youll be fine. Take snacks and bring water and make a day of it. You can hike deep into the trails and get lost among yourself taking pics! If we didnt have work to go back to, we would have spent the whole day there!
Beautiful sunrise spot. Pity the parking lot is closed early in the morning and they have aggressive no parking signs everywhere.
Awesome natural pools!!
Amazing to see what nature and time are capable of creating!
Very beautiful!Nice hikes..
Beautiful, would have been even more stunning with more water!
Cool and simple to get to. Worth the visit
Amazing!
Yoga near these pools...Famazing
Beautiful scenery and intimate off-road trail.
Easy but scenic hike
I was very happy with the Soldiers Pass and Brins Mesa trails in Sedona. They were moderate difficulty, as advertised online. We had 2 people and a dog, and all managed well. The ~5 mile hike took about 4 hours, mostly due to stops for photos and just enjoying the scenery. It was slightly overcast in December, but it a nice day for hiking. Seven Sscred Pools and the other landmarks add nice focal points along the trail. Highly recommend!
Nice 20min walk from the trailhead for families with little kids. You get two for one on this one, about 15min in, youll pass Sedonas largest sinkhole (carefull at the edge). Downside: parking is more than scarce! The Soldier trailhead parking offers only ~10 spots, theyll ticket or tow you if you park on the street!
Pretty cool spot and easy hike to the viewpoint. I would put other classic hikes in the Sedona area before this one though.
You have to be careful with this little hike, especially in the summer. It is very easy to walk right by this hot spot as seven sacred pools can easily be translated into seven stagnant puddles. After a fresh rain on a cool day I believe this would be a site to see with the background reflection of the mountain off the set of pools. Otherwise do not set expectations high and getting to the parking path keep in mind parking limited and hard to find. Its in the middle of a neighborhood abruptly to the left when following the signs
Absolutely beautiful would of given 5 stars but the parking is horrible had to hike almost a mile before reaching the trail and then back after the hike. I arrived at 9:30 on a Friday
Excellent hike!
Pretty but can get crowded. Dont drink the water, like some people do. The crowd before you were walking through it.
Very nice and easy hike.
You have to see it. A nice little hike.
Its a nice hike overall, and the pools are pretty cool, but mostly its just a couple divets filled with real murky water. Not the highlight of the hike Id say actually.
If your not paying attention you can totally miss this. So many people passed right by it while we were there taking pictures
Absolutely invigorating... my soul, attitude, and and comprehension of that particular moment changed in a positive way that can only be understood by the experience...
Beautiful
Would love to see it when the pools are full
Such a great, easy hike that most anyone could probably do. Its roughly a mile to the sacred pools and they, as well as the incredible rock formations, are really something nor to be missed. On the way up, you will see Devils Kitchen as well which is very dramatic. Be careful walking up as the edge is sudden and it is very deep! Kee an eye on little kids and dogs. Its a beautiful hike throughout and we highly recommend it. Note* parking is a little tight, no trailers or RVs recommended.
We got there 30 minutes before opening on a Friday and was able to easily park
Beautiful area. Too bad that we ran into some hikers that were in a more destructive mode as they chipped away on the ice formed in the pools and tossed them on the rocks. Moved on further along the trail to get away from the crowds.
Lovely place to go right after a good rain when the water flows down over all the little falls. Not too bad when it is dry either...
Fantastic hike.
Serene and beautiful
Nice place to explore
More like 7 sacred puddles. Not a whole lot to see here.
The seven sacred pools are a great goal for your hike! You can start at Jordan Trail head, take the Cibola pass route for awesome views and getting up close with the red rocks.
Definitely not a destination, but a cool stop along the trail
Beautiful area with all the red rock mountains around but the sacred pools are not much to see. They are a few small 6-8 pools of dirty water. I would not go out of my way to see these.
Part of our Jeep tour with Big John and they were pretty cool .
Great hike!
Really neat but smaller than I expected. Not marked on the trail so we walked right past without noticing them.
Scenic, short easy hike to get to this destination and the pools were full when we visited. Stop at Devils Sinkhole on the way.
Seven Sacred Dried Pools
A great, easy hike! Love the peacefulness of these pools. A fun place to hike around and take photos.
Nice site during our hike. Look behind the pools and see the eagle, the cheif and the mother and baby rock formations. Those are part of the legend behind the sacred pools.
