The outer ring of the trail is able .8 miles.Ive been walking this trail with my 1 yr old in a stroller. Its sunny but enough places to pull off in the shade..Beautiful little gazebo thing overlooking the pool.Dirt and rock. The middle trails can be walked and crossed with a wide step or a jump over. Its a lovely spot for bird watching, seeing desert hare as well as seeing wetlands in the desert! It doesnt smell like a sewage plant, its not been really busy any time Ive gone.If you want a nice, quiet, tucked away easy trail this is it.
I love wetlands and birds. This one is 100 percent manmade!
FR 525. Dry camping for miles. The views are extraordinary! A must camp spot!
Kool place for hiking an bird watching
Ive passed this way to and from Sedona for years. I was determined to check it out. Theres a water reclamation plant next to this wetlands preserve. The preserve is open to the public with adequate parking and lots of small bodies of water that attract many types of birds. You can find a larger pond behind the smaller pond areas and the birds were mostly here when we visited.I also observed some interesting footprints in the mud. So some larger prey may be attracted to this area as well. Im sure some were dog prints but I dont think they all were. There are a few places to sit; its a very peaceful place. The parking lot had a few covered picnic table areas as well. Access is free.
Nice get away, if you want to just get away from the world for awhile.
