Its funny how the forest service people dont want any citizens parking anytime by the hillside to enjoy a pretty site. Although, they can park wherever they want and the rules dont apply to them. They can block others that are parked in a parking space. They dont provide much parking and have shut down other parking options in the area. The forest service people around here arent very kind or nice to others either... They will get you with an orange tag if you try to have any enjoyment and pursuit of happiness in life.
There are steep Stone staircase that goes down to an overlook of the stream. The Fall colors were superb. Its not even or steady for those with walking issues. Theres still much to see. The other end of the ravine has a partial sinkhole type structure.
Such a great place to stop and see !! The view from under and top of the bridge is amazing love it ..
More of a difficult hike. Down hill. Beautiful views. Hike down to river and cool off. Pack water & a snack! Or stay to pic nic.Save energy to walk up at end of your trip.
Great vistas and lots of trails to choose from. Great place to hike. I live in the area so Ive been to midgley bridge hundreds of times. Very beautiful place.
A little steep on the way down. Just take your time. A nice welcoming creek at the bottom. Nice for wading on a hot day.
This is a great place to go and it has a trailhead called Hickaby Trail that runs all the way into Sedona. If you hiked down about 1mile, youll run into Oak Creek. Its very nice. Theres only about 10 parking spots though, and you still need to pay the $5 red Rock pass fee at the machine in the parking lot. Pack a lot of water pack your hiking shoes pack your swim trunks. Have fun!
Limited parking. Hiking down to the bottom of canyon is very cool experience. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous view and the trail to the river was beautiful, found another favorite spot in Sedona ️
While driving South on Route 89A to Sedona, we were treated to this little gem of Midgley Bridge Picnic Area and did some exploring. Trails are well marked so it was fun to wander and see the sights of the creek and mountains. At the picnic area the trail goes under the bridge and the views are pretty good and photogenic. So while the lure to take this road is Sedona make sure you take time and visit this little gem, we did and believe you will too. Enjoy.
This was an awesome stop. The bridge goes high over the valley at a point where the river and stream converge. Beautiful colors all around. The sunset probably isnt the best sunset you could see but it certainly was beautiful nonetheless. Great views. Was there during the fall and all the trees were turning yellow.
Great place for a short hike, water was nice and cool. Unusually busy compared to every other time weve come but was still able to find a nice secluded spot. The water level can affect how far you can follow the creek. Be careful of snakes, all the times Ive gone Ive never seen a rattlesnake before today.
Gorgeous view, a little crowded but it was Saturday.
Great spot to set up for a day by the creek! It’s about a mile hike down to the water but remember you have to hike back UP again after baking in the sun all day & the last half of the path is not shaded. Altogether coming back up it’s 11 flights of stairs. The path is easy enough to follow but there are a few places where you will have to duck under branches and squat down through tight places. We floated down the river as did quite a few other families to a couple swimming holes where you can chill out. The water is cold so you WILL chill out!
Nice area but gets full quick.
Beautiful views and the trailhead for Wilson Mountain. Restrooms were closed and smelled horrible, and parking was scarce, but overall the place is still awesome.
Good spot for a quick scenic shot enroute Phoenix
Good place to stop for some great photos. Parking area can only accommodate around a dozen vehicles.
A great place to stop and get epic views of Oak Creek and the red rocks of Sedona.
Love the breath of fresh air here.
Beautiful view of Oak Creek Canyon!
Cool spot to hike
Amazing chicken youre close look of the structure of the bridge
Great place to take photos or go under the bridge and hike down the trail to Oak Creek take some better photos there in the summertime theres also a very good swimming holes underneath its a bit of a hike but its worth it nice cool water get your Red Rock pass to park here
Great place to visit, ive been there hiking as well as relaxing by the river when it gets hot.
Passed by this a dozen times and finally stopped on our last day. was not dissapointed but wish i could have hiked more. the trail will lead you down the canyon to the creek below where you can view wildlife that exists no where else in the world. watch out for rattlesnakes and tourists.
My favorite place to go. A bit of a hike but so worth it
Very nice place to visit and Enjoy the views
Very good view of Sedona. I highly suggest not coming here during weekends especially during noon, and early evening. Extremely populated, and the traffic will be horrible back in tourist town. Fridays, and late Sunday isnt too bad. 3 day weekend, AVOID....
Whats a view! Wonderful
Great hike and beautiful scenery!!
It got me right across the canyon and back
Lovely scenic venue.
Very few places on this planet as special!
Beautiful quick access scenic overlook and short trail around the back. The walk to the overlook is just a few stairs from the parking lot.
Very nice view, parking very small, people are in and out fast, so just wait a few min.
Great Hike and place to relax
Hiking up to the waterfall, when theres water, is always a great jaunt.
Worth to stop for ten minutes to enjoy the sight of the bridge across the valley.
Peaceful. Serene. What is there not to like? Youre under a bridge that looks fabulous at sunset. Perfect ending to a day trip in Sedona.
Pretty cool place with great views. A must see on a Sedona trip. Trail are relatively easy, the train down to the water was a bit intensive for a beginner. Taking it slow it can be accomplished.
Nice spots by the stream.
Beautiful place, not much parking but interesting view.
Great place to have a picnic!
Awesome views and cool trails
Being a local its best at night with the stars....
Small parking lot. Good pics not far from lot of bridge and canyon. Hike down to creek took 10 minutes. It could be challenging in the heat coming back up, especially if not in decent shape or in your 20s. To hike more at the bottom we took our shoes off to cross two creeks. Coming back we grabbed a stick to walk on the tick bridges. Good swimming holes available too.
Pretty Awesome Area. Lots of trails, beautiful back in the canyon
I love bridges, when I saw this one on google I definitely wanted to go, really happy I went, Sedona and all of its surrounds are amazing including this bridge
I visited today, a cold day but walk there and see that beauty is priceless
I love bridges. This one has a nice walking trail with great views. Only down side is that there is very little parking.
Beautiful views.
Awesome
Amazing overlook at oak creek
What a beautiful place to hike and view some of the most beautiful red rocks in Sedona.
I would give this a 5 star but the logistics of parking to hike here are a nightmare at best... Also be careful for glass by the stream. The area is beautiful and has many elements of beauty, water, trees, wildflowers, and tadpoles.
Amazing views!
Beautiful place to visit while in Sedona, the bridge is beautiful. The Wilson Mnt trail and Wilson Cayon trail starts here.
The parking was heavy, but the views were beautiful.
Nice.place for picnic
Beautiful views.
Beautiful place
Nice picnic place. No water
Take the short staircase down to the viewing area. Stupendous, especially in the evening light as it changes minute by minute!
Nice old iron bridge with a stunning view on the valley.
Trailhead for Wilson Mt Trail. $5 Red Rocks Pass required, but you can pay at the kiosk by the small parking lot. Photo is the view from the Sedona overlook.
Great views and a nice hike to the river. Easy trail to walk to the river.
A nice trail that has some good views of the canyon.
Nice
Great views
I do not have any photos because I was driving at night, leaving banjo picnic area. BUT because i was here at night with my brother and the veiw of the stars was amazing. It was like someone tossed silver glitter into the sky. During the day its packed though so its hard to see the nice veiws on the canyon below. But love the starry sky
It was nice I like to get away into nature
Awesome view
Great place to hang out and swim. Can be a bit crowded and parking is very limited. Must go very early.
Great views of the mountains surrounding the town of Sedona. A short hike will get you down to the stream which my 7 yr old loved.
Water is ice cold
Great location. Decent facilities
Amazing location hike down to the water.
The beauty of Gods creation is breathtaking. Enjoy the red rocks, explore the trails adventuring to the rushing creek. Allow you fears to disappear. Open your ears, eyes, and heart.
Great little stop when heading into our out of town. Very small parking area so suggest coming early on the weekend or during the week day. Nice area to just see beautiful views, watch the sun set and have a nice picnic.
Very scenic place I love it to hike
An absolutely amazing spot to stop and see some breathtaking photos.
Beautiful views and a great place to enjoy taking pictures
Great hiking and beautiful views!
