Love this park, although we are biased as it is our local park. The stream flowing through thick beds of skunk cabbage and the pedestrian bridge are our favorite parts. We have seen owls, pileated woodpeckers and coyotes here. We have also seen a woman walking her pet snake along the main trail. We did not visit for a long time after that.
Large park in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. Less crowded than some of the other nearby parks, such as greenlake, but also doesn’t boast a large glittering body of water. Lots of trails and paths to explore, park is bigger than the eye can easily see. Not a ton of benches around.
Lovely natural park. So many trails to choose from and lots to see. I wish people respected the space more...
I have been coming to this park for 40 or so years (parents lived across the street). It is connected to Cowen Park.It has great wee trails and a nice long trail connecting Ravenna Blvd to University Village without the even higher hill near Greek Row.There is also a playground, tennis courts, and baseball diamond near the U Village section.
This is one of the best parks Ive been to, it is huge and has many different paths you can go on and explore. It wasnt too crowded, there were a few runners, bikers, and dogs, but the paths are pretty good size so you dont run into other people or have to move put of the way too much. There is also a little stream through part of it which is really nice. There are also a good amount of benches and open fields around to relax or have get togethers. I highly recommend this park to everyone in the area and visiting, you wont regret it!
A lovely urban park with forest covered trails that make you forget you are in the city. The surrounding neighborhood is also lovely to stroll through. Very peaceful!
It was lovely out there with lot of trail options for walk, run and stroll. Not a load of people on weekday.
One of the best green spaces in the city for sure! Its got everything a great park needs and then some. The trails are great on foot or bike, theres plenty of chill spots for a picnic, and its connected to Cowen park which has a playground and other great amenities. Such a fun place to explore and Ive been doing so for 4 years and enjoy it just as much as the first time!
Great walk seems secluded but in the midst of the city
Nice in the day time. Very few homeless people. I’ve done some strolls through the park at midnight and that’s when it’s quite sketchy to say the least.
Beautiful park. Aside from the occasional street bridge and city noises, it’s easy to forget you’re inside a major metropolis. The main trail is well maintained, with several other side trails that feed off of it. There were at least two playground areas, a tennis court, baseball field, and many places for picnicking.
Peaceful and beautiful place, will visit again for sure.
Wish they would take better care of the bathrooms..
Visiting and staying in an Airbnb nearby. This is an amazing park right in the middle of the community.
Nature within the city is beautiful. Bellissimo!
So pretty. Beautiful place to run or walk.
Lovely trails with creeks around :)
When youre on the ravine trails, you can pretend youre out in the Cascades or the foothills. Only if youre female I recommend going with a buddy since there are homeless folks here and there...safety first!
A short trail in U District, but dont be fooled by its location. Once you enter the trailhead it really feels that you are far from the city. This trail connects Ravenna Park with Cowen Park.
It was busy. Its a beautiful walking Park. Lots of trails. We found a bee hive high in a tree.
Pretty cool park. Old bridge and some nice off the beat trails. Short though. Not a big park
Great greenspace, park, and walking path on the northern edge of the u-district. There is a playground for kids, as well as a bathroom. Occasionally have seen used needles here, but usually city workers have it cleaned up quickly. People also tend to let their dogs run free, so be on the look out if you or your dog are uncomfortable being approached by loose dogs.
I absolutely love and appreciate the hell out of this park! been visiting my whole life and still enjoy it just the same today. the bridge is a beautiful example of amazing 20s-era architecture.
Sad. Hard used. Human damage everywhere I went. Tragic to witness the trashing of such a treasure in the midst of our city.
I love that I can get a taste of walking through the forest while being in the city! Had a really nice mini-hike while waiting for my laundry to dry at the nearby laundromat.
Beautifully kept up, lots of walking trails
Great walking paths.
Such a lovely park! We always stroll through it when we drop in at vegan haven!
Very beautiful park to walk through on a nice day.
Lots of open field and trails for the little ones to run around in.
Nice place to walk for UW students, traffic noise is occasionally audible, but generally a nice Creek park
Lovely park with many trails / jogging paths for light hiking. Kids & dogs friendly, and has a nice playground for kids. Picnic tables are around the playground. There’s bathrooms behind the playground with flush toilets, water (ice cold), soap and warm hand dryers.
A dashing little spot of brilliance.. even a few moments Sparks memory and imagination.. great place to discover your love for one another..
Very beautiful park. Spring had just begun and the whole park was cool and breathtaking.
Beautiful park! It has trails in the woods near a creek as well as meadows for picnics and such.
Absolutely beautiful park! I was only able to picnic here at the tables but it was an amazing place to relax and enjoy the air and sun. Park is very well kept and open. This would be a great place to bring the family to play catch. There are many bikes paths that surround the park. I cant wait to come back! :D
One of the best parks in Seattle without a doubt.
It is really great that a little bit of what it was like before people came and started re-landscaping everything, is still existing in the middle of a large and modern city such as Seattle. It is of course not in its original sate and all the old trees are gone but it does still retain a certain raw character that most modern city parks dont have. This park is really great for hiking, running and bicycling. On the outskirts of the park there are also areas for team sports, tennis and lawns for picnics.
Feels like you are in a forest, various trails and running pats for all difficulty levels.
A bubbling stream, intertwined trails, birds chirping, thick forest like patches of nature...Fantastic park to visit any time of the year.No parking lot but plenty of street parking all around this rather large neighborhood park.
Great park with an awesome history and rebuilding as recently as post-2000.
Nice hidden germ.
Beautiful old park with amazing tall trees and lovely paved/rocky walking paths and dirt trails for cycling too. The lovely sloped lawns are expansive and scenic but not handicap accessible. Parking is limited in this area of town, of course, and I always urge extra caution when roaming around at dusk or later at night: This park has tables and benches but also many ravines filled with baby bunnies and other hidden adventures, of every kind.
Perfect for a simple urban hike. Take the South and North ridge trails for added challenge. Very clean and quiet for an urban trail.
Lovely park in city, nice trails busy with people jogging, walking here.
Nice place but be careful with some weird people hanging around.
A gem in the city! Cool trails to zip around on bike.
Great for hiking or walking park.
Beautiful place to explore and many parks surrounding the ravine.
Its rare to find a park that makes you forget you are in the middle of the city. This park has an impressive network of well maintained trails that are great for walks and runs.
Nice and cool even during the summer once youre in the ravine. Fun place to walk through. Be careful of the occasional homeless group that moves in.
Beautiful park tucked away in a quiet part of Seattle! Perfect for hiking, dog walking, and trail running! Favorite park in Seattle!
Great park to be alone at. Hardly anyone enjoys this park unless they want some true alone time. Dont worry if you happen to run into another human while wandering the park, they will most likely ignore you or throw you some side-eye, but trust they arent there to socialize by any means.
A wonderful escape from the city, deep woods with hills and a stream, most of the path is gravel and dirt so caution with strollers, has a wide pool for summer, a nice play ground and tennis court.
Magical under the city forsest.
Solid greenery park with some nice paths. Just as a heads up, lots of interesting characters yelling interesting things. Probably wouldnt be a place I would wander at night solo personally. We used the picnic shelter which was nice with old chimneys and cooking structures (as in pretty to look at, not to use). Lots of tables for our group of about 40.Close to the university, it was easy to find and had a good amount of free parking in mini lots.
Great playgrounds, little bit muddy when rainy. Perfect little park without having to drive.
Great park. Can really forget you are in a city while wandering among the trails and large trees. Also has fields and open spaces for sports and games. Hasnt been overrun with bums and needles yet.
Beautiful urban park! When you are in the park you almost forget that you are in the city. Ive even seen an owl here at dusk before. Drawbacks are that its relatively small and the trails are pretty limited. Excellent spot to take a stroll and decompress after work.
Totally thought candy cane lane would have been better. They did an okay job with decorations. Loved the round about with the rotating christmas ficture, kind of reminded me of its a small world. It was also nice to see a food donation bin as well. It would be even better if they had santa and mrs claus outside handing out candy canes for the kids. Hopefully one of the owners reads my review.
If you dont mind the mosquitoes, and you want to feel like you have escaped from the city, then you just have to experience Ravenna Park. Owls, rabbits, coyotes, hawks, eagles, raccoons, and all types of birds. This is a great place to take pictures. There are all types of huge trees and flora. The trails are clear and I recommend comfortable clothing and shoes while visiting, because it will make your visit much more enjoyable. If youre quiet I think that youll be amazed at the things you can see here.
Best place Ive ever lived.
Had nice time with my son D.Andre Miller family and friends for his birthday
Couldnt believe that there is such a green treasure of a park in a residential neighborhood. Hope the residents continue preserving this wonderful place!
Quiet, quaint little park, lots of trails
Such a lovely little trail to hike! We saw a squirrel right out of the gate which always makes our day, who doesnt love fuzzy little tree dogs? Theres a beautiful little creek running right down the middle and we saw little goobers playing in the water which always makes you feel welcome. Will definitely be coming back. I did the track in flip flops and managed to stay safe, which is my way of saying that the trails are well-maintained.
Dark and damp in the winter, cool and dry in the summer. A great refuge from the city anytime.
You take 50 paces and the city is forgotten entirely in this natural forest park
Plenty of parking if you keep driving around. Lots of areas to find peace and quiet or the playground the find socializing
Beautiful family friendly walking place.
It was a wonderful hike. Very peaceful. Will be going back with my dog sometime soon
Nice little patch of greenery in the city with a stream for kids to splash in and several trails. Nothing too arduous for the casual weekend warrior, and great options for joggers! We saw a squirrel right off the bat, which is always a good sign.
Local kid friendly gem
Attached to Cowen Park, do both and find the mini sculptures all throughout.
Nice long enough secluded trails with moss, ferns and trees.
I worked near Ravenna Park couple of times one of those times I went over there to have lunch very nice beautiful quiet with a big problem, homeless people camping shooting drugs, use in a bathroom on a grass, dont have to tell you more, too many numbers locals Im trying very hard to get that beautiful beautiful Park back, as a matter of fact now that Im talking about it I think we all should help the locals gained it back obviously the city has failed many times over so sad on both ends!! I wouldnt think my kids there not at the moment
This is one of the most peaceful parks in Seattle.
Vast park, cool to walk around.
It’s a cool little park. A lot of places for a picnic. Also some kind of forestry walks. There’s a cool tree you should climb on.. you’ll know it when you see it.
Suitable for family gathering and activities
Maybe my favorite park in Seattle, the ravine really takes you out of the city, and its enchanting to walk among the ferns and creek.
Nice park..lovely lushness.
Really nice, several trails and pathways that are well maintained. Overall seems well maintained and fun to get lost in!
Its a quiet lovely park. I didnt explore much aside from the playground and surrounding fields, but the tiny animal sculptures were an unexpected and welcome touch.
Great place for kids to play
Ravenna park is a gem in Seattle. This parks trails transport you magically from a bustling urban metropolis to the setting of The Land Before Time. Its as if LittleFoot is ready to jump out right around the corner. Ravenna Park is a fairly large park straddling the boundary between the University District and Ravenna/East Green Lake. The largely left alone landscape is lush and the trails are well maintained.
Great for a quiet walk away from the city. The park goes through the middle of a ravine, and it feels a little like walking through a Jurassic jungle. Cool place to escape to.
Clean and lovely park! It feels like you arent even in the city walking through the forest paths.
Super huge the scenery is the best part just make sure you bring a friend for safety
Its really nice and scenic. Great for being surrounded by green and getting away from concrete. Sometimes homeless people camp out around the park, but theyre pretty respectful to park visitors.
I have never given this a second thought while driving by, and now I feel like a fool! This is a magical chasm in the middle of city life. Lovely for walking dogs, appreciating bridges (up close and personal), or sitting with a book. Recommended for fans of tall trees.
Great park. Super secluded.
This park is a refuge from the city. There is a beautiful spring fed creek and hiking trails all around. I have seen woodpeckers and owls here. A few interesting bridges span the park. Watch your step or you might walk on a sleeping homeless person.
My favourite place to meet and run and picnic. This is so calming. The view changes every five minutes. Grilling, trails, foraging. Its a magical park for me with running water.
Peaceful park... Got lost a little. Some homeless.... Dont go at night. Maybe bring a compass
This is an amazing little park in the middle of a residential area. Definitely take some time to check our the trails in the park, you can definitely forget that you’re in the middle of a city!
