Such a great park with a TON of space! Water was an amazing temperature for swimming, paddling, kayaking and boating. The dog water park is phenomenal, and depending on where you start off, its not too long of a paddle to Magnuson Brewery. There are life-guarded beach sections and other little beach sections with rope swings or trees to hang hammocks.People were pretty great about social distancing and wearing masks when near others.
Peaceful walking area. Deceptive vehicle blocker in the way of the road towards the inner part of the park, either that or people are ignoring it. Love the view from the shore across the lake. A few trees with ropes on them so a great summer time hangout spot. Has a buoyed floating island about 100 meters from shore. Restrooms are throughout the park (city park standards for clean). Overall a great place to hang out on a non rainy day.
Hands down one of my favorite spots in the city. I used to live by the U Village and would take a nice long walk after dinner on the Burke Gilman trail just to get to this place and chill by the lake in the summertime. I like it that you can get so close to the water; being there I always lost track of time.
A beautiful park on the shore of Lake Washington! Its full of large open spaces and a green walkway along the waterfront! You can feel the touch of life in groups of families and friends with kids and dogs full of joy all along the walkway!
Few words can describe the park’s grand terrain, free, open, and liberating. This park fills my Grammy, Jillian (she’s 89 and single), with renowned youth. My family line is filled with lovers of the outdoors, my Grammy and I are no exception. We explore the park, scouting for areas that remind her of the Rice University grounds (from which she was expelled from). But since the park is practically never ending, I find myself losing the wild woman with unfortunate ease! Her Hoveround provides her liberty to move around the park—oh a blessing and a curse—and I lose her constantly. I note all the spots that she is fond of but still, I am baffled as to how she finds untouched spots secluded by the park’s fauna.Word of advice from one loving grandson to another, if your Grammy says she is going to the restroom, she desires lone exploration of the park. I try to accommodate this wish—to be alone—but the poor soul is incredibly naive. While I trust the park’s safety protocols and the good natured visitors, freak accidents can still occur. She could escape park grounds and run into trouble elsewhere and what then? I would be left a poor, guilt-ridden grandson in need for his Grammy’s company.
One of the largest parks in Seattle and most diverse in use. Lots of walking and biking trails, boat launch and sports fields. I never really exploted Sand Point Park until the last few years. I Used to sail on out the north end of the park. This was an old Naval base and airport so many of the Naval buildings are in use. The property is mixed commercial and public park where you have a rock climbing gym, a small brewery and sailing classes. Its a great place to wander and take long walks on the lake shore. Plenty of parking.
So many happy dogs which makes me happy again! The view by the waterfront is amazing as well. Children also gathered here for soccer games. What a beautiful and fun place.
This is by far the best park/picnic area I have visited in and around seattle. The park itself is huge with lot of parking area. People were strictly following social distancing with enough space between groups and wearing masks when roaming around. Its clean and the water is really warm. Good for swimming, kayaking etc. Restrooms were clean. Majestic view of Mt.Rainier during clear skies makes this more spectacular.
I love this place is a big space they got in a free to swim you can take your kids you can have fun you can walk or activity you want to do the best I recommend I always take my kid they dont bike swimming playing soccer basketball hiking running the good place for everything if you got a yacht or boat you can have fun too I recommend this place is the safest to place for kids for adults they want to get out from the house they can have fun over there thank you
Great off leash park for dogs. Long, fully fenced walkways down to the water where they can jump right in.
Very nice park. Lots of paths to walk. The art display from old nuclear submarines was very cool. Great access to the lake. Nice place.
What an amazing place to explore while in WA. We did so by bicycle. The fresh air, the trees, the flowers in bloom. So much to see and so much to do that you would need a few days to experience all that GGP has to offer. So plan ahead because certain venues are open on certain days and bring walking shoes, some snacks, and water to give you the energy you will need to see the sights.
Beautiful area with a very large open off leash park that branches off into a path that leads to the water. So much fun to explore with your pup! Definitely my favorite (and my pups) off leash park on Seattle. They also have a cute little puppy treat truck to cap off a pleasant day at the beach :)
Great place to talk a walk with multiple types of terrain, on Lake Washington. There is a cement path, and many earth paths in the trees. There is a very dog park, that has dog only access to the water.
We usually love to launch our boat there but this time a very rude young woman was directing cars that didnt have boat trailers to a lot quite a distance from the launch. We had our suburban full of coolers and family and our boat, which was being pulled by our son by another vehicle, was following behind us by a couple minutes. She couldnt understand why we needed to meet up with him in that lot. We had to get the gear and all the people in the boat before launching. She was unbelievably rude and treated us like we were criminals. We had arrived early in the morning to get a good parking spot for this very reason. She was a real jerk. There was no reason for her to be so rude. There was hardly anyone there. I suggest you replace her with someone who has some common sense and people skills. We pay our taxes to use this launch.
The off leash dog area is GREAT. A big open space for fur babies to run around in, a fairly long and shaded walk/trail, and it leads to a dog beach.
Its HUGE! And all the dogs were extremely respectful. No fights, humans playing with their dogs, everyone wore masks, you can follow it all the way to a beach for the dogs to play in too! There are bags and trash bins along the whole route. Theres shady areas and wide open fields. Lots to sniff, very clean.
The beach portion of the park (parking and beach front) was quite full yesterday, July 21st. However, still found a spot close to the beach, and there was still enough room to social distance. Even at 6:00pm, with less than 80°, the water was warm enough to swim in. It was truly pleasant, with no algae minus a few reeds floating in the water. Only negative: bathrooms by beach are closed. No life guard.
No lights on after a certain time, and my son likes to practice on the field late but other than that awesome place to hang out with family
Dog park, fields from turf soccer to giant grass fields, this park has it all. Play structure for kids! Love mag park!
Dope park. Great for socializing your dog. I have a husky and try to bring him relatively early. Noon is the rush. Second to Marymoor but closer if youre in the city.
Amazing dog parks including one for small and shy dogs. The entrance off 65th and Sand Point is the busiest because its easiest access to the water inc boat launch and has a separate parking area down there. We use the north entrance because its closer to the dog parks and you can walk to both the athletic fields and the beach. Park is massive!
What a great dog park. Friendly faces, happy pups, plus plenty of poos to adopt.
What great place to walk!We love to go down to the federally protected wetland trails to see the wildlife and scenery! You can walk for miles and there are bathrooms and at least one water fountain. If your in the area and like to walk this is a great place to do it, there are many other amenities like sport fields and a boat launch situated on the shore of beautiful Lake Washington.
Huge park of mostly flat surface, numerous trails, restored wetlands, athletic facilities, explorable shoreline (though currently discouraged due to high bacteria concentration), dozens of birds, and plenty of parking.Lots of off-leashed dogs though despite signs to keep them leashed so careful if you are bringing small kids
Pretty good of a dog park. One of the best in Seattle (after marymoor). Gets crowded though.
Great place! It hard to imagine you are in the middle of the city when you explore this park. It takes me back in time... It feels like what San Francisco would be like if we didnt build a city of cement.
Great park with a HUUUUGGGGEE Off leash dog park!
Great place. We ordered fish and chips and I told waitress my husband and were going to share it. When our food came out there was 1 piece of fish for 2 people. Waitress could have told us it comes with 1 piece of fish, we would have ordered something else. When the young guy delivered our food, I said is that ours? He said yes. I asked only 1 piece of fish for 2 people? He said the menu says Fish and chips, means 1 piece of fish I couldnt believe he said that to me.Waitress came handed us the bill, I mentioned to her, that a suggestion for others wanting to split the fish and chips she could tell them it has only 1 piece of fish. She stared at me like I had horns coming out of my forehead. She didnt apologize, dropped ticket off and was gone.
Great old airstrip, turned to a huge park. A little bit of something for everyone. Marsh land, trails, sports fields, tennis courts, and of course water and a beach. Oh and a public boat launch. Nice place to come anytime. Right up in north Seattle.
Giant park with so much history and so many places to explore, but the layout is disrupted by NOAA. During Covid-19, however it was fantastic with all the roads closed to vehicles. Great beach views and hidden gems. The dog beach is very small and always crowded.
TennisCenterSandPoint @ Magnuson Park is a great place to play tennis, also cafeteria inside 2nd floor. Variety of food selection. So delicious, You can also order online or QR Sacan. The Iced Tea lemonade so refreshing
Beautiful Seattle park built on the former grounds of Naval Air Station Seattle on Lake Washington.
Great dog park! Love all the different areas and that there is water access to Lake Washington! Second time here in one week and I live up in Sedro Woolley!
So. Much. Exploring. The off-leash area is huge and should tire out (and keep entertained) both human and furball should you attempt to explore it all. Bonus points if you venture out to the rest of the park which is dog-friendly with a leashMy go-to park when I feel like driving over.
The park is well maintained and has facilities for many activities. Great for just walking too.
Worth going for the dog park and beach. Be aware it’s full of dog walkers with too many dogs per person on weekdays. Plenty of extra poop bags and trash cans
This dog Park is such a cool place to go! Specially if u have kiddos. The trail is a great length with plenty of space for kids and dogs to run around while still visible and safe. All gated, and once you get to the end of trail you find the gem of a lake for all the dogs to go nuts and be free. It’s an amazing place. We highly recommend it if you want a dog friendly environment where your furr babies can feel free to roam with no one to judge them being off leash.
Wasnt too crowded. Water seemed pretty clean. Great place for boating, jet ski, swimming, etc. Was on West side.
Great park for kids, beach, running, dogs, on or off leash, flying kites, picnic, swimming, walking, berry picking, boat launching. Its huge and its great.
It is nice park. Walking trail along the water is too short.
Lots of space. Able to take a long walk
Incredible park, one of the best in seattle, great history. A patch of a public space,
Very pretty park, lots of parking and areas to go to. The water front is super rocky but still very pretty. There is a lot of walking paths, nice playground, and a dog park. Also they have some other facilities like tennis courts, etc. It was a little hard to navigate my way through it since the signs werent great so I got lost the first time going there and ended up down by the boating area. Nice place though!
Magnus park. Best place if we want to have a good weekend walk or run. Actually is nice for any recreation. And the water in Washington lake is just starting to warm up in may.
Huge Park out at Sandpoint, a great place to just roam around in peace and quiet along the shoreline. They also have a dog park here as well. Also a huge field for soccer and Outdoor Sports, a dock system with boat launching and there is even a tennis center here too.
It was a great open space to take the pups. Lots of ability to social distance.
Love this place! It has a huge off leash area for dogs and great for hiking with your pups! My baby loved here so much! It is a dream come true for dog lovers!
Big...good dog park...like the pea patch...shows people are into gardening in a big way...and its artistic...but best place for dogs to interact with other dogs...
Picture is worth a thousand words....look at the abandonment with which my K9 and human kiddo had fun. Why them, even I rolled up my pants and dived right in. Its a beautiful area for everyone to enjoy
It is such a wonderful place by the beach and long walk and sport places.
Its a great place to walk my dogs, interesting trail and stunning views (weather permitting) of Mt. Rainier.
I love it here. I live in Mercy Magnuson Historical Building. Just moved here but so far so good
Really good place to take your dogs to play in the water and then to walk around.. will be going back
Awesome city park. A ton of things to do.
My dogs love the odd leash areas. Even though one is an aggressive rescue, everyone was very understanding and other dog owners has some very helpful advice for helping him integrate better.
Fun dog park, nice running trails, great tennis center, soccer, ultimate......
Nice park on the northwest side of Lake Washington.
Beautiful park with lots of options for recreation. Trails, fields, dog areas. Super dog friendly.
Plenty of easy trails, filled with interesting flora and fauna.
Simple access to the water and lots of trails to explore. Not 5 star, but not bad either.
A pretty place with lots of wandering space. There’s areas where you can walk directly to the shore if you’d like to take a dip or docks for boats. If you have a non powered boat there’s a small landing you can walk your craft directly into the water as well. The park has walking trails that are paved for the mobility challenged, restrooms and porta potties. There’s a large grassy field to play catch and set-up volleyball ball nets (best bring your own as I didn’t see any existing ones. There’s also a off the leash dog park here separate from the beach as dogs are not allowed on the beach.Picnic tables are reservable, sign stated 3-5 at a time with the already standing bbq grills. You can buy your boat day passes at the parking lot. There is also the very cool Fin Project Art Installation here
Son loved it. A huge park with a variety of spaces, from sports fields to a dog park, to a waterfront...
A beautiful park with many areas to sit in the grass or walk around.
Great park to visit and get a quick swim. Dont forget shoes for water to many rocks :)
I enjoy biking here and hanging out. You can find all kinds of activities here as well and it is well kept.
A lot of running and walking space. Really nice beach area at the end for puppies to get in the water.
Great place even on a windy, wet day. Interesting art installations, a boat launch, nice wide open paths for strolling, an enclosed dog beach-park, and great parking.
Great wingfoil launch spot. Plenty of parking
One of the most pleasant abandoned naval bases around.
Favorite place to go jet skiing and boating. Walk dogs. Hang out during the summer. Beautiful park.
Huge playground for pups complete with a Doggie food truck, several open play areas, plenty of water bowls, access to lake Washington. Wonderful Dog Park
Theres so much going on here! I love the garden and dog parks, theyre both excellent!
Love this park!! We take our doggo here, everyone loves the off leash areas and water spots. There are play places for families and seating options along the paths. Parking is usually great since there are so many lots. Sometimes the Barkery truck is out and you can get a special treat for your pooch!
My favorite park in Seattle. Plenty of water, places for bbq, cozy and greeny.
Great park and you play Pokemon Go so many stops!
I come here at least 3-5 times a week depending on the weather of course. Always nice to let my dog run around and socialize. Im very happy that this place is always very well maintained.
This park isnt as woodsy as other parks. We were looking for more a escape from the city vibe.
Great park with plenty of walking trails, off leash dog park section, lots of free parking, and honey bucket restrooms everywhere.
Nice park but far too large for our pup to be off leash! Each area is fairly large and not gated off from other, just kept on going! The “small dog”/ one fenced in area I found was a little small for our pup since he prefers to chase dogs 3x his size. Lots of dog walkers with multiple dogs at this park as well! We loved the barkery truck out front though!Wouldn’t recommend to anyone with a dog like ours who doesn’t care about us when other dogs are present lol but a nice spacious park for most dogs!
A gorgeous park with lovely paved walking paths as well as dirt trails, scenic views of Seattle from Kite Hill and by the water to see Bellevue and Kirkland across the way as well as the Cadcades and even Mt. Rainier on a clear day. Lovely picnic pavilions, grassy spaces to lay out a blanket and picnic or sunbathe, and many benches along the way. Not to mention a huge 8+ acre off leash dog park that leads to a private waterfront area for the pups, boating access, and outdoor soccer field. This park is amazing!
We usually come here for the dog park, which is amazing! Theres a large area for all dogs with a path to the water on hot days. Theres also a small dog area thats big enough for lots of high speed chasing. Our corgi gets very excited whenever we pull into the park entrance because she knows shes about to have such a fun time!
I was not there for site seeing. I was there for medical purposes.
Beautiful park which is for the most part very well maintained, except for the tennis courts. Dog friendly with many paved trails and some fenced in areas for them. There are many bird species that also call this park home, great area for birding.
Fantastic day! Beautiful park Beautiful people even behind the masks.
Huge, beautiful, well-tended. Good for walks or picnics, dogs, kids - everyone.
Huge, clean and open area. Love the dog park here, its one of the best in the city.
Large off leash dog park with many well behaved dogs
Its not too crowded and great for sail boats, paddle boards or inflatable floats.
Big beautiful fun place. Water, grass, trails, dog park, this has it all.
This is a really well designed park overall. The fact that there is a doggy beach just tips it all the way over the top. Walking down the dog run is like walking down a mall for puppies.Outside the park there is a dozen of amenities. Although the soccer field is kind of unkempt, there seemed to be at least 4 tennis courts available for use.I saw a few people even picking the blackberry bushes right outside the dog park.
I loved this park
