Great show tonight with Black Diamond Burlesque.They were a class act, very entertaining and fun to experience. The entire troop was talented and were personable with the audience.The facility is always clean and drinks are good.We come here several times a year and have never been disappointed.

Me and my fiance had a wonderful time. Ive always felt like we are very fortunate to have This comedy club in our area. There wasnt a bad seat in the place. It seems like an awesome place to go for a date every so often or to bring friends To have a good time. And be happy.

Had a great time here. Show was excellent. 2 drink minimum and 15% tip included in the bill so you dont have to add more if you dont want too. Parking next door in high rise garage free at night. Drinks here are good and fair pours. Food looked good although I didnt eat. All in all a great fun evening.

A great place to see new and old up coming comedians.they pack the place but not uncomfortable. They have a set routine to get you in served and out for next group.Pick your comedians wisely though for you want to go for a laugh..Ryan Hamilton show was good. McCurdy and opening act were better though.

Spent 2 hours laughing on New Years Eve - great to bring in the new year with some humor, drinks and bar food. Super lineup of comedians and subject matter as is typical with McCurdys. If you enjoy the comedy club scene, I highly recommend it if you have the means.

Been there twice its one of Sarasota s best kept spots. The owner is as funny or funnier than the comedians who showcase. The Green room is a perfect entrance to the show the food is perfect while your watching the show and the service is exceptional.

Every time I go to McCurdys I have a great night. They have local talent to national talent all year round. There is a 2 item minimum (alcohol, soda, or food) per person. Tip for you, sign up with them and provide your birthday and they will usually call and offer you free tickets on or around your birthday, up to 4 tickets can be claimed - worth the 2 item minimum in my opinion.I went tonight (actual birthday) and I had a wonderful time with a friend and I definitely needed the laughs. Thanks to McCurdys Comedy Theatre for another memorable night. I will certainly be coming back here for a well put together comedy show with full service provided.

We just liked it. I am usually hard to please.as far as comics go, and we all laughed . A lot. Service was excellent, considering the crowd. Would go again.

We had a great fun time here! Only tip: Beware of shared tight tables and oblivious people who might just knock a cup of sauce off the table and right onto your lap :) otherwise, hilarious guys and tasty food!

What a wonderful time I had tonight! My friend ended up receiving free tickets because he signed up for their email newsletter and they had his birthday on file. So whenever they dont sell out a show if you have a birthday or anniversary they will offer you free tickets. The only catch is theres a two-item minimum purchase from either their menu or their bar. Fair trade in my opinion especially for all the laughs I received tonight! Id recommend this place to anybody that enjoys comedy. The food tastes great and it tastes even better while youre laughing.

We went McCurdys Wednesday December 4 2019 and the main act was Dennis Blair who was hilarious! One of the best. We also had a snack; meatball sliders and chicken quesadillas. Pretty good for a comedy club. Just dont order the wine, which was not very good.

My first time at this Theatre. It was very nice. I liked it. The only thing is, they did not have healthy option in food.

My husband and I received complimentary tickets for our wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised that the Preacher Lawson was the headliner! McCurdys brings in the best performers hands down. We see six shows per year average there. Cost of tickets, two drink minimum, no phones, heckling, smoking or young children. Two shows, early one starts around 6:30 usually senior crowd, later show 9ish. Food is low end bar. Its definitely about the performance. Great time!

On vacation from North Carolina with 7 of my besties from across the country. Drag bingo was the highlight. Great food and service.

Ive got to disclose that Im a biased reviewer. Comedy is my #1 preferred form of entertainment, but McCurdies is one of the best comedy clubs Ive had the pleasure of frequenting. They bring in top quality acts on a regular basis and the MCs are talents in their own rights. Not only have they delivered top names but Ive seen some very talented newbies to the business. I come from Montreal where they have an annual comedy festival second to none and many of these new faces should try to come to Montreal. They would do very well.

We have gone to several shows here, often bringing family and friends when they visit from out of town. They have some pretty good comics, and have only been disappointed by one in our more than 20 trips. Les, the owner, is pretty funny. The only problem with going frequently is you often get the same “stuff.” I mean, Geno, the garbage man is funny, the first few times.

We saw the comic, Mitch Fatel, who is one of the funniest people I have seen. The show was outstanding. The wait staff was very professional. Great evening.

Always a fun night at McCurdys! The talent is always so fun, and the staff does a great job of herding people in, serving and seating them just in time for the show. The 2 drink minimum is no big deal, because you are going to be there for a while anyway! We go a lot with groups of friends, and always have a great time! When the show is over, you are close to all kinds of bars and restaurants downtown so you can keep the night going if you want. Its a great night out with friends. :-)

Placw is small and mixed drinks arent that great but they do have some good acts come thru.

McCurdy himself and Ron Modell are the funniest of the whole group but every time we go there we laugh all night. The food is an added bonus.. including coconut shrimp and the best burgers around.

They have a lot of top acts and we had a blast every time we go.

Nice as always, McCurdys is a wonderful time no matter what. I took a star off though for 2 reasons. First I recently attended a show where 3 people were non stop, literally every 120 seconds were hacking a lung, like gooy from your throat cough (1 guy) and the other lady right behind me was just coughing and coughing. I was hoping the Comedian or someone would ask them to leave-but nope. So with Coroavirus going on- I think if your coughing that bad for 2 hours straight, every 2 minuets--you need to be home or not allowed in places like this at the moment.Other reason is their old set up was alot better, you had more space it felt, now your too squished into strangers, barley able to stretch a arm, just needs a little more personal space, other than that the place is awesome.

We went to open mic night. It was a lot of fun. No charge for admission and no drink minimum. The drinks are a bit pricey though.

I think we have only seen one act here that we got bored with during their act. Talent is generally very good.

The staff were efficient & friendly! The host and emcee was congenial and with a good sense of humor let all know the rules and expectations, as well as, introducing the acts! The acts were varied and funny and the drinks were good!! I will certainly go again!

Love coming here it’s a great night out! Always a good laugh! Customer service is good, atmosphere is great, comedians are always very entertaining! The only reason it’s not a five star is because I still don’t like that there is a two item minimum purchase per person. Other than that highly recommend it!

This place was nice. The seat werent too packed (heres looking at you Side Splitters). I kind of wish there was more exposed brick but ill be fine.

I understand their two drink minimum, but what they dont tell you is the gratuities are also included so watch your bar bill. I double tipped.

There is a group of us who love seeing all the variety of comedians. Its a real stress reliever to laugh and enjoy the comedy routines.

Wont be back. Its very dark in the club i pulled my phone out to pull up some light read the menu. The over zealous bouncer asked me to leave. My friends had already left because they were having an emergency with the babysitter and the same over zealous bouncer was rude to them.Dont waste your time. Go to club that wasnt to treat you like your a guest not an inconvenience.

Uproarious Adulting nite out. Definitely for the over 18 crowd. Thursday nites the comedy starts at 7:30pm and youll be laughing til 9:00pm. Get in to McCurdys laugh out loud. But dont come too hungry..appetizers are average and pricey. There is a two drink minimum per person. Hold off drinking in their green room and indulge in their Show room..Green room beverages dont count.

Loved the two shows I attended which was Paulie Shore and Jamie Kennedy. Staff seemed pleasant and attentive during show. I did not order food but 2 items is required so got San Pellegrini and Diet Coke 13.00 which was fine and 15% gratuity is included regardless of how many people .

Guests need to know, that they have a 2 drink minimum. And if you have a cocktail BEFORE going in to the venu, that cocktail or soda, does NOT count as your 2 drink minimum. Beer is $5 bucks a bottle. Cocktails run about $8.50.They also have some yummy food, such as fries, nachos, etc.Its a great place to go for some lsughs in downtown Sarasota.

Love to laugh and This is the place to bring the inner kid out. Awesome atmosphere and reasonably priced menu items. Good ol fashion real humor and laughs. Highly recommended to any and all people.

I have been here many times! Ive seen Rob Schneider, Jim Breuer, Tom Arnold, Dale Jones and Jon Lovitz. Just to name a few. The service is great as well as the atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out when you visit the Sarasota area. MAKE SURE you fill out the card at the table! They will call you on your birthday and random times to offer you free tickets.

The opening is a poorly edited recording that I found disappointing. Ken Sons did his schtick: Funny Man!! Derrick Richards was great!! Food is delicious & the Mudslide -creamy deliciousness. Seating is crowded, tables are small.

Very funny comedians with changing line up weekly. Also love that they keep your birthday and anniversary on file and offer free tickets (up to four) on your special days. They also have drag queen Bingo...lol...you have to see this to believe...a lot of fun. Food is good, service good and parking easy in the gar as he behind the building. From time to time they get some Big names, so get in the email list so you dont miss someone you might want to see.

Great comedy when clean, not dirty, sexual content is present. Must screen Comedians before going. Just think they have a church service there on Sunday mornings? Food and drinks are good but expensive. You must buy 2 item minimum. Understand, but when you get free tickets, they get you for the food. Realize this is a post to stay open. Just need some lower priced items....thank you.

You have to buy two menu items per person, the food is just average, theres an automatic 15% gratuity charge, and the seating is arranged so that its likely youll share a small table with strangers. But, there are occasional free events and its right next to a free parking garage. Edit: Since I cant reply to Mccurdys reply, Id just like to say that you could also just pay them that living wage yourself.

Worst comedy club Ive ever been to in my life ! Took my two most valuable assets in my life for a birthday celebration...... Wont recommend it to my members of yacht club association of America ! Mind you, Im a local guide.... Anyone who thinks Im kidding ! Im a performer myself..... Ill perform ANYWHERE..... not here.... Oh, and if one sees a high rating on this review.. assume its someone who works here, or someone who is a BOLD FACE LIAR ! Out of business soon .... Very soon.... remember, if your crowd control is warranted....the reason is usually NOT the crowd but the management.

Our association had a private event and it was phenomenal. Its a great venue. I recommend everybody go and see one of the comedians!

Always a Good Time.. only one complaint, and the very 1st one Ive ever experienced here.. the guy aka (bounce) was rude, we had only been in our seats 3 or 4 minutes looking at the menu deciding quietly what to order I had my phone out trying to turn on the flashlight and turn the volume off he comes running over maam you have to put your phone away I tried to explain what I was doing he wasnt hearing me then 30 minutes later my 2 friends was cold and ask the waitress about the sweatshirts up on the wall $$ etc again the GUY came over and said you guys need to stay quiet no talking during the show.. we were in the back next to the doors. No one could hear us, besides we were asking about the clothing to purchase and items from the menu. WTF. Damn rentacop.. not a pleasant experience.

Over all was a great place!Parking was easily available, allowed for easy access thanks to the parking garage next to the establishment. The lady working the ticket booth was super helpful, very welcoming persona as well. Once you enter you come into the Green room pretty much a bar to pre-game before the show. The 2 drink limit does not apply within this section. McCurdys overall was great! Entertainment, Atmosphere and great service all in one

Comedians are always great. Very funny. Stick to ordering beer or menu drink for 2 drink min. Charged a ridiculous $12.25 EACH for a Baileys on the rocks tonight. NEVER again.

Les is the best. Sound system was clear and booming...Headliner had me belly laughing. Service is great. They never disappoint!

The best thing was that there wasnt a bad seat in the house. The bad thing was the guys sitting at the tables didnt have enough room for their legs. We had 4 Cokes and the price was $25! I was totally shocked!

Nice place. Great shows. Attentive, polite staff. Ive been here for both comedy and burlesque shows, and always seem to leave with a smile. The seating is arranged well, and there is room to move around, unlike many Tampa clubs Ive been to. I will definitely keep an eye out for upcoming shows at McCurdys.

A real homey kind of place where everyone feels welcome (unless you make a fool of yourself, the comedian makes it known). Definately not for the faint of heart or soft people. The comics were the best, and it was really a lot of fun! However, it is a little pricey, but definitely worth it

Nice place! The green room gets packed quick, so go a little early. The owner was really cool and funny. Almost every seat in the house was a good seat for being close to the entertainment. The seats arent the most comfortable but its a bar/comedy club. Its worth a trip for sure

Nancy the headliner was hilarious great showI had reviewed the location prior to the show so kinda new what to expect as far as OVER PRICED drinks and even prepared myself for the rude staffBut when the server assaulted my 77 year old mother that was the end of the deal!It’s one thing to follow regulations it’s another to blatantly disrespect an elderly woman.I get it this is a very transient city but for God’s sake have some dignity if not for yourself or the man paying your salary learn to keep your ego in check when speaking to our elderly clientele.I’m sure the boss would frown on disrespecting the elderly....Sad one jackass ruined the whole evening because of his ego and power trip issues...

Excellent comedy club, well managed and clean.Not happy with a two item min to be purchased during the show. I’m paying to see a comedy show. Food was mediocre and drinks a bit on the weak side.

Tommy Lama was the funniest character Ive seen in a while. It was a full house there to see him. Our host Les was perfect opening the evening, cant get enough of Les. Tommys evening was very funny without the need for using fowl language.

There isnt a single bad thing I could think of to say about this place. Every seat in the house is a good view. Ive seen some of the best comedians perform here. Late night shows are always a big hit for date night or a fun night out with a group of friends. There is a 2 item purchase minimum.Drinks purchased in the Green Room do not count towards your 2 items. Fun delicious appetizers and the drinks never disappoint.
