Great hiking of all kinds. Level of exercise required varied, ranging from easy, medium and hard trails. Some in complete sun, some in shade. Dog friendly, poo bags provided. 7$ for parking. A few off limit areas due to restoration. Please respect the no entry! If a sign says no entry, dont enter! Simple as that.
A good spot for sunsets and city views. If you park at the top you will need to pay but you can try to find a spot on the street below. Not too many trees so its open to sun so bring a hat or wear sunscreen. A lot of intense uphill so good for getting fit, or if you are lazy you can pick a easier walk. Also a good frisbee golf spot.
Beautiful park. Limited shade so bring a ton of water. Looked like an awesome disc golf course but didnt bring any gear.
This is an awesome hike! Rolling hills in Santa Rosa calls for a pretty steep incline for quite some time. My Apple Watch recorded 3.41 miles with 1,128 ft in elevation gain. Took us 2 hours, but we stopped to smell the cows. My heart rate got up to 153 bpm trying to climb up the steep hills. Pretty solid hike with great views at the peak. We went when it was 70 degrees out, so definitely broke a big sweat. The trail is a bit muddy from the rain. Lots of cows to hang out with though!
Great way to get out and see Santa Rosa in its natural beauty. Definitely enjoy a hike out here
This is one of my favorite parks in Sonoma county. It is close to my house and you can dring your dogs. There are a few different trails or directions you can walk or mountain bike. Perfect for the whole family. Very use park.
Great hiking spot! The views cant be beat. I
Find the Log Jam just below Taylor State Park scary looking wood up on top
I bring my dog here every chance I get. Its absolutely stunning, I recommend this place to everyone. You can see all of Santa Rosa, nothing beats that view!!!
This regional park is a place that most tourists do not know about and is frequented by locals mostly. It is an 1100 acre open space preserve that provides a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife and birds and in spring an abundance of wildflowers. This park is the remains of what was rich farming land with long agricultural history. There is a large heard of cows that live on this preserve and roam freely. There is a large parking lot and a ticket machine for day use pass for a nominal fee and there is generally a park ranger in attendance. The park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset, it is open 12 months of the year. It is dog friendly with dogs on leads.
Great views of Santa Rosa and the surrounding area. Steep portions on the trails and very little shade. Better pick an overcast cooler day and take lots of water. We really enjoyed the hike and will be back for more. Also a great workout or preparation training for steep longer hiking trails.
The parking is not free.Day use permit required. There is a public restroom.Picnic tables but no barbques.Horse riding trails available. The address says kawana springs road but there is a public entrance off Petaluma Hill Road.Handicapped parking available.Wheelchair accessable public restroom available.Except for hiking and horseback riding or having a picnic there isnt alot else to do here.Quiet out of town nature space tho. Peacefull. Nice to visit.
Sox now they give parking tickets if you park along the creek 100? Before quarantine was free!!!
What a hidden gem of Sonoma County! Whether you prefer redwood forest hikes, golden hills, wildflowers or trickling streams, youll find it here! Start with the Umbrella tree trail- a bit of a hike but worth the view! Geocachers will be pleasantly surprised. Overall you will never tire of the hikes here, each one has its own magic!
These trails are packed with other hikers:) They have a cool frisbee game to that attracts all the kids.
Great view of Santa Rosa from the top of the mountain.
Great disc golf course. Bring water cause there isnt any here and 18 holes is a bit of a hike.
Beautiful energy and view love it
Im waiting for this park to connect with Holland Drive, they said 2020 was going to be the year.
This is a very popular park just outside of Santa Rosa.Plenty of cardio workout to get to the summit, or you can meander around the lower trails and enjoy the wildflowers. There are not that many trails in the park, but it seems that at many of the intersections, more signage could be added. Easy parking off Petaluma Hill Road, its a good place to chalk up a nice 5-6 mile hike and take in wonderful vistas of Santa Rosa.
You can watch or participate in frisbee golfor just enjoy the view
Cool little place to hike.
Absolutely love this hike. It offers several different loops and trails that eventually all connect somewhere. It took me several times before I was able to complete the whole mountain trail but a total of 4 hours of hiking to finish the whole thing. Pet friendly! My dogs love it! It’s mostly shady but there are spots in the trail that will be exposed to the sun for a while so take lots of water and try to go early in the morning or late afternoon. Great workout; I’m always sore the next day. Only $7 to get in for an all day access. Definitely recommend!
Awesome views, but a steep climb.Love that you can take dogs. Facilities are a bit Spartan, but thats to be expected. All in all, an absolutely great time. But do watch out for mud and slippery slopes in the winter!
My fur baby Dory and I enjoy hiking here often!
Steep enough to get a good workout in. Awesome views. My pup and i love it! If youre luckily there will be lots of cows!
Best cardiovascular workout
So beautiful! Great place to hike!
Great trail, with good elevation changes, and excellent views. Trail markings could be a little more clear.
Plentiful cow poop and no cows to be seen. Its fine for a quick bushwhack outside of downtown Santa Rosa, but with so many hikes in Marin and Sonoma county, its hard to spend your afternoon doing something mediocre.
My husband and I are avid hikers...our main source of exercise, beauty and lots of fun to do!!! Really nice trails here and the views looking down on Santa Rosa are WONDERFUL!! It a pretty good climb to the top, we always bring a lunch to eat up there (and of course water). If you choose not to go all the way up you’ll still love the hike. If you start from The Santa Rosa Ave. side, I recommend keeping to the trail to tour right rather than choosing the on you can see going straight up the hill. It meanders nicely the brings you around to the “big hill” later on. If you begin from Petaluma Hill Rd., you’ll come to a gate you go through and then when you meet up with another trail, go right to go to the top or left to go the more meandering way which’ll take you down to the aforementioned parking lot (@ S.R. Ave.) Have fun!!! Spring wildflowers are great!!
This park is really beautiful to walk through. There are lots of shady spots along the trails to sit and relax if you would like. my favorite thing to do is to start at the entrance by Kawana Springs and walk all the way over to the Petaluma Hill Road entrance and then back again. It is almost 2 miles each way.
Good cardio hike depending on the route taken. Once at the top the view is worth it! Watch your step though or you might be taking some cowpie home once youre done.
I helped put the disc golf course in. Its a great course. The hiking is GREAT, too. Even if you dont play disc golf - its a HUGE NATURAL PARK. Theres an entrance if you ride horses. There is another entrance if you just hike, run, bike or play disc golf. Im a volunteer for the parks department - so - yeah - Im prejudiced .. so what .. I like it. Dont park at the bottom of the hill to avoid the parking fees. Nope. So many get broken into down there. BUY A PARKING PASS. If youre between 18 and 55 its 69 a year. CHEAP, includes a nights camping and all sorts of cool stuff. If youre 55 or over its 39 bucks, if youre disabled its 29 bucks - if youre a disabled vet its free. BUY A PARKING PASS! And it gets you into EVERY park in the system. About 30 or 40 parks including Doran Beach out in Bodega Bay, or, Gualala .. how can you go wrong?
This is a lovely park with well-maintained trails. As always here in Sonoma County, there are ups and downs! But not too steep either way. The paths were somewhat muddy in places, but not too bad. The views are spectacular, and the trails we took wound back and forth through oak trees and open areas. They do only have 1 picnic table. They also have a disc golf course.
Great 4 mile out and back with steep incline all the way up. Completed in 1 hour.
Lovely sunset views.
Beautiful park for hiking with my dog. The views are lovely.
Great views from the top, a good hike
This a wonderful Park in our SoCo Park System. The location is perfect and easy to get to via foot, bike, or horse without a motor vehicle. The trails are new and in good shape with more to come. Visit the cows you are sharing the space with as well as the other critters.
I absolutely love Taylor Mountain! The hike is a great way to get your heart pumping. The icing on the cake is the gorgeous views that await as you reach each point on the mountain. Im so grateful to have Taylor Mountain Regional Park available for year-round enjoyment.
Excelente nice taylor mountain love this place
Awesome place for beginner hikers
Best under an hour heart attack
This is a wonderful place to go for a nice hour long hike. The top has a beautiful view of Santa Rosa. As with all Sonoma County Regional Parks they charge for parking. This location has a machine which takes credit cards.
Just last week, I went out to check the trail with my 2 kids aged 8 and 10. We find the mountain and its trail surprisingly beautiful with great views of low lying farms, towns and infrastructures. As we reached the summit we were amazed of its surroundings. Just dont forget to bring a bottle of water because sometimes it can get too hot. As we made our descent, I was expecting that my kids will start complaining from steep climbs and long walks but to my surprise, they started asking me questions like when are we going to hike again. Well, maybe I need to buy myself some hiking sticks and be ready for our next hike.
Beautiful little park with great views along with grazing cattle and spring flowers throughout the grassy hillsides and stands of oak trees. Trails can be in variable states of condition. Parking day pass fee of $7.
Nice early-morning excersise.
Great hiking spot
Great going up and the same going down. Best trails are the single track.
It was awesome you get to learn new things and do activities and great views you should probably bring a camera my class and me got to do a play
Awesome hiking trails!
I had the best time with My Best friend/ Future Husband & saw the most Amazing views of Gods creations!!
Need good brakes on your vehicle .
Very nice place to hike!
Great place to hike. Beware, you might make some new friends with the cows.
The trails are well kept and clean. There is some poison oak on the sides of many trails, so if you bring a dog try to keep them out of it or you will get a rash too!
Love this place!
Beautiful! Great place for the family. There are a couple of picnic benches at the bottom to have a nice lunch after a beautiful hike!
Good Hike today smoke cleared and got some great views of Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa. Bring lots of water was hot quick.

Here are some photos of Taylor Mt
Gorgeous views of Sonoma County from the top of Taylor Mountain. Easy hikes and a fantastic disc golf course.
Good views
Great place to hike! Free range cows roaming around which makes it more exciting!
Nice little day hike area, worth a visit if you have kids
Nice trails, other than the ruts and pits caused by the cows. A few steep spots create a great workout with a rewarding view at The Summit.
Love this place
