This is a beautiful park with nice trails and amazing views. Bursting with life, this park is bound to leave you breathless one way or another.I dont hike as much as I would like too, so my stamina isnt the best. That being said, I didnt struggle at all while hiking around sunset. Lots of trees cover most of the path and there are also some benches placed along the way.Great place for a solo hiking or to take the kids.
So fun! We love riding on all the trails as a family.
Just an excellent place to get out in nature. Mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding, it is beautiful and fun here.
Very nicely maintained with a diversity of trails and scenery: meadows, hills, creeks, redwoods, marsh, lake. They are mostly easy hikes but a few moderate ones. A good place to stay in shape.
Great hiking and running trails with beautiful scenery
Trione-Annadel State Park is a great park to hike at with multiple views and various scenery. There are miles of trails and plenty to see. The trails are semi-covered by trees with shade and have plenty of wildlife.
Great urban park. Fun hiking, great mountain biking.
Classic Santa Rosa Park, fantastic mountain biking and good hiking
Beautiful trails to run and hike. So serene with the creek running next to you
Gorgeous lake and beautiful walk around it. If you like this, you may also like Phoenix Lake in Marin.
Great trails. Beautiful views. Easy access.
Excellent place to relax, hike, bike, horse back ride and explore. Friendly staff of Rangers to insure safety and make sure posted rules are followed. Always read park rules so everyone can have a good day!!!
Busy when its warm out, but so much great outdoor space to relax or hike.
Explored a bit today nice downhill rocky trails right from the ranger station
Great trails. Live the cobblestone trail right up to the top. Nice view - specially at sunset. Hiking in the dark can challenging + dangerous so beware if you stay at cobblestone top at sunset.
Gray little trail. Peaceful. Highly trekked
Its a real good looking park, there are so many areas to explore, hike, and bike. You can check out the lake as well. I havent seen every thing yet but soon I would explore everything and I hope youll do as well.
You can get there through numerous trails, even from Howard Park or Spring Lake. Either trail takes you through awesome scenery and plenty of chances to observe wildlife. The lake itself is beautiful. There are lots of areas with picnic tables, and fishing, not to mention swimming. But beware of the poison oak! It grows rampant there. Also use insect repellent and sunscreen. The ticks and mosquitoes are plentiful. There are no lifeguards there and you do have to watch out for bikers and horses.
We stopped here for a quick hike with our pups while we were driving through the area. Beautiful place, and not too busy (on a weekday). The pups loved it!
Is beutifull and really clean,
Amazing park with amazing hiking and biking trails.
Nice sunset walk. Parts of the park may be closed due to the fire, but there are still lots of trails open.
The scenery is a must see, very beautiful, and a great incline.
There are easy and difficult running, hiking, and Mountain biking trails here. Horses are also sometimes on the trails. Many local running events happen here, as does cross country. Great place to take visitors, or come every weekend if you live here.
Richardson trail off the end of Channel Dr. is my favorite. Parking fee if you use the lot unless you have a pass. Great trail for hiking or running and doesnt get too muddy to navigate in winter, though good trail shoes help.
Wonderful park. Lots of trails. Something for everyone. A Sonoma County treasure.
Great trails. A bit of up and down but not too steep.
Best family park and trails in Sonoma County (and we are blessed to have so many). The hikes up here are just stunningly beautiful all year round, and theyre well-maintained and feel safe as well. Whether you have an hour or a day to spare, its the best.
Some of the best mountain biking in the bay area. 40+ milea of chunky single track tucked in Santa Rosa, CA. Lots of riding styles would be comfortable here, though there arent many great spots for beginners. If youre a brave beginner, youd be fine. Not terribly steep, but pretty technical in a lot of spots. Great for hiking and horseback too!
Annadel State Park is a gem. You can start in Santa Rosa and end if in Kenwood if you hike or ride far enough. Easy to very difficult terrain for mountain biking. Horses are allowed in the park. Many joggers and hikers. Hard clay trails mixed with cobble stone and hella rocks in the quarry. Lake Ilsanjo is a nice place to jump into and cool off on a hot summer day. Plenty of shade under the oak trees. Watch out for ticks and poison oak.
Been hiking here my whole entire life. I’m obsessed with it, such good trails. Perfect, trees to bare path ratio throughout. Love that it’s 3 parks connected. I love just getting all lost in the forest. Annadel is a treat for anyone.
I had a blast on cobblestone!
Beautiful place to get away from ur every day busy life. Wonderful paths for all levels
A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the outdoors with the smells and sounds of nature all around.
I love Annadel! Best mountain biking trails around that i know of. Recently went hiking with my new favorite friend around kake Ilsanjo from the Parktrail entrance via the creek trail and back again. We went ast dark and were able to make it out of rhe park safely. The kake had been drained way down for repairs on the damn which was a surprise to me. I hooe there will be more rain and it will refill so my favirite swim spot will be enjoyable this summer on hot hikes and bikes. Enjoy I highly recommend this place for outdoor adventurism.
One of my favorite spots to fish
Kinda dry most of the year. But there are some cool spots to be found by those who are willing to walk about 5 miles. M oi mountian biking, some swimming places(*I wouldnt go in the water personally). Bring water.
Had a epic mudslinging gnarshredding sesh at Annadel. Super wet n slick n fast. Got up into burn zone on Marsh to South Burma, what a change butnew life from spring popping all over. Amazing. 11Mi 2HR ride time 1500elev.
Beautiful park great mountain biking trails, a but of fire damage right now but most trails are still open
A must visit location in Santa Rosa. 5000 acres of varied and hilly outdoor space. Hike up to lake Ilsanjo in summer, and swim the lake to cool off, then hike back down, or explore small redwood areas mid mountain. If you bike, this is some of the best mountain trails around. Come mid week to avoid crowds on the trails, otherwise visit on the weekend and chat with all the locals enjoying a fabulous park
Best Mountain biking in Sonoma County
Beautiful & Relax to up here
This place has the best trails in northern California, for hikers and bikers of all skill levels. Whether youre in the mood for a quick stroll up to Lake Ilsanjo, or want to test your endurance with a gnarly ride up to and around Ledson Marsh, Annadel has it all.
Awesome trail and we were lucky enough to see some incredible wild life!
We went on a really lovely 5 mile hike today. Lots of ups and downs, with lots of woodland, meadows and pretty glades. Spectacular views of the city that is right close by, but you feel like youre in another world! Pretty wildflowers, beautiful green grass, trees and moss, the sounds of nature and sunshine pouring down all around. You cant get better than that! One note of caution - the poison oak is PROLIFIC this year, and quite close to the trails. And the ticks are out! But the hike was well worth it.
Great trails
Love to run in this park. Pretty view and quiet.
Beautiful hike to Lake Llsanjo! I do wish there were more signs to mark trails.
Very tough and rocky trails.
Beautiful place.
Annadel State Park has always been one of my favorite parks that is near a medium sized city. Beautiful ecosystems with different types of natural forests depending on where you go. This is also a great place to use your mountain bikes with trails of varying difficulty. But.... a lot has been burned down due to the recent fires. Hopefully, it will begin to heal and regenerate, and go back to its former glory.
Great Park! nice to take a peaceful walk.
Excellent mountain biking with a variety of trails, adjacent to Spring Lake.
Absolutely gorgeous and a wide diversity of terrain for hiking/mountain biking.
Great trails, lots of trees so sometimes muddy. Watch for bikes!
Its a great place to walk or run with good Hills that build up your conditioning. Theres always something to see, and the wildlife come right to the trail. Today it was quite hot there probably over 90 degrees.
Fantastic place for mtb, trails range from mild to wild. Also a good place to go for a gravel ride, as there are several fire roads in the park.
Ive loved this place since I was a kid, and I always will. To.be almost in town but yet a million miles away is priceless.
Good Bass fishing in Lake Ilsanjo.
Best place to walk!
Im an amateur hiker and only went about 1/2 hour up Cobblestone Trail but wow is this a beautiful place: intermittent shade from beautiful oak trees, expansive meadows, and (Im told) a lake further up the hill. Its totally pristine--I didnt see one piece of trash anywhere. I passed friendly hikers and bikers. Service dogs only. Accessible portapotty in the (free) parking lot only. Next time Ill pack a picnic and go further. Definitely bring water with you and a cell phone, just in case. The trails are cleared but watch out for poison oak--its everywhere.
I like the Vietnam Veteran’s Trail entering Annabel State Park. Good to get a map at REI or via the internet. A two mile walk takes you to Lake Ilsanjo by way is Spring Creek Trail. Here’s a picturesque setting for lunch with outhouse restroom near by. Trails to consider are Marsh Trail, Ridge Trail, and South Burma Trail. A good way to prepare for more strenuous hikes like Bald Mountain At Sugarloaf Park,
Had such a great time hiking with family here. Little one got to see a bunch of deer, a turkey, a variety of flowers, and with all the nature signs spotted imaginary ones (3 year olds).Only down side was my reading the map wrong and ending up by spring lake when i thought we were mid way to the rear parking lot at sundown/dusk, and the $50 citation waiting after the walk in the dark.....not to mention the nature signs have various pictures of large cats and the now very tired 3yr old on my shoulders keeps saying daddy I see a lion. Fun times!Forestry service crossed our path and spent a good few minutes making sure everything was ok and expressed concern since it was after hours, but never demonstrating anything less then understanding, even offered a ride.Really liked it here.
My favorite park to go Mountain Biking! This is easily my favorite park to go riding, there is something for everybody out there no matter if you are a beginner rider or an expert, if you rather do xc or enduro, Annadel offers a huge trail system. As a side note: Fellow riders, please be mindful of other trail users such as hikers or horse back riders, they have they have the right away! Oh and please dear E-Bikers learn some trail Etiquette! I wish it was prohibited for E-bikers to go on single trails as most of them lack skills and show offensive behavior especially towards hikers!
Wonderfully varied nature inside Santa Rosa. Hike to the lake or the marsh and check out Indian artifacts. There are lots of options in this Park and lots of room to wander.
Its a great place to relax and enjoy the smell of the trees.
Great quick spot to mountain bike, especially when other places are cold/wet! Fun, challenging - not the longest spot but worth the occasional change of scenery.
I really likes this park for Mountain biking and hiking. Has a lot of everything from beginner to intermediate trails. Hard to get lost which is good for people new to park. They have maps of park everywhere. There are also so many trails that you could bike for hours and never get bored. Highly recommend it.
This is a hikers park. While bikes are permitted, the real enjoyment comes from hiking the miles of trail. The trails are varied and bring joy to the basic, moderate and high types of hikers. While the October 17 wildfires did a lot of damage, mother earth has brought the park back to much new growth. This spring the wildflowers were extremely large in numbers. One can once again hike for great views of Sonoma County. The park now connects to Jack London State Park and the Ridge Trail that goes into Marin County.
Love coming here, such a beautiful park
Beautiful state park with nice views and trees
Great place for that daily dose of nature.
Good riding a bit Rocky for my taste but others riders like that kind of technical Rocky stuff, endless variety of trails but theres no getting around the rocks
The trail seems to go for ever and the scenery is awesome, Im planning to go back and taking a different route this time.
Awesome park. Tons of singletrack to explore on and off the map.
The place is clean staff is efficient and you have panoramic views out to the ocean couldnt get any better!
Awesome trails and will be returning to ride some of the other ones soon!
Nice park. Various places to park vehicle within or just outside to access. Multi-use trails, single track and double track (forest roads). Lake with a paved trail around it, a marsh that has come back to life after the fire, creeks, and rolling hills with steep inclines here and there. Many deciduous and conifer tree species with a trail into a redwood section littered with obsidian rocks. Visitors center with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Bikes bikes bikes! Been mountain biking here a couple times, and had a blast. I particularly love that different trail users (bikers, hikers equestrians, etc) all coexist peacefully here. Not true at all parks.
As a trail runner, hiker, fisher and family man this place has it ALL. Absolutely beautiful after the rains and cant wait to explore every single trail in the park.
Great park! Lots of great bicycling and hiking on the menus there my friends.
Tons of trails with fantastic views and varying terrain.
It was mushy in rains but other wise beautiful scenery
Fun tail to hike or mountain bike..There is a small lake on top of the trail..
A great place for good SR valley views. Saw a group of 10+ male deer at evening
Smack dab in the middle of Santa Rosa, you have access to miles and miles of trails for mtn biking, trail running, hiking, bird watching, nature photography, etc. There are trail maps posted in various locations, but one can easily be found and printed with a quick google search of the park. There is plenty of free parking near the trailheads. Beware that many of the trailheads are in neighborhoods, so be courteous of the neighbors! Nearby Spring Lake and Howarth Parks provide play activities for the children, so if you are dragging them on a nature hike, you can bribe them with the park afterwards. In the summer you can bribe them with ice cream, pony rides, paddles boats, a petting zoo, a train ride, and a carousel too!
Excellent mountain biking destination! I regularly drive up from Vallejo to ride here. The trails are a good mix of mellow flow and chunky gnar. Its a beautiful park with spacious meadows and mature forests. Im glad to see it slowly opening back up after the wildfires.
Close to santa rosa. Easy to park on friday. Mountain Biking, walking, horse trails. Inexpensive, though you can park outside entrance for free.
So lucky to live near this park
Beautiful expansive woodlands on the edge of large town. Miles of trails. Abundance of wildlife. Varied terrain and plant communities.
Excellent trails! Great for hiking, biking, horseback riding, or whatever it is that you do in the woods.
