Nice gentle walk but not the fault of the park, but 1/3 of people not wearing masks.
My dad has a bench there as a memorial of his passing. So many great memories of this place. R.I.P. Padre
Amazing loop hike around the beautiful spring lake. Good exercise with beautiful nature and views of the pristine lake! Great place to walk, run, or walk your dog! Also has camp sites which are very clean and large! There are also boat rentals (kayaks, canoes etc.). There are lots of picnic zones around the lake with fabulous views. Many of them are in the shade!!
This is such a nice place to meditate, walk, run, ride a bike, swim, paddle board or play on the giant water structure! I took my yoga mat and found myself under giant redwoods and shade trees with the warm wind whistling through the little valley. Perfect for meditation. Lots of grass, trails, a little sandy beach, tables for picnics or having a birthday party. responsible PET owners allowed. $7 a car. It is a beautiful and serene park as well as fun and lively. A sure bet to visit!!
Close to Spring Lake Park. Smaller campground, open yet intimate. Central bathrooms. Hot showers with pay. Tent and campers allowed but no electrical hook-ups
Went for an early morning walk and it was beautiful! Everyone was respectful and taking all the Covid precautions. The park is well maintained and gorgeous!
Another great local place for short term camping and hiking. Restrooms are clean, people are courteous and helpful. Only negative was that the trails going on into Annadel park area are very poorly marked, with many false trails caused I think by the many bike and horse riders who use it. Overall a very good place for what we were doing.
Wonderful place for hiking, camping, swimming, peddling, celebrate events, exercise your body and more...everything is amazing
Great paths. Clean. Wide paths. Lots of parking. Easy access.
Nice drive north to this quaint recreational swim area. Theres a floating water park on the lake and lifeguards on duty until 745pm. Park gates closes at sundown. A small fee of 7 dollars to enter the park. You have options once inside. Boating, kayaking, a concession stand that sells beer, showers and big, clean restrooms. The water is warm and murky, dont be alarmed its like going camping for the day.
Fun. There are ground squirrels here that will come within 4 feet of you if you are still and squeak like a rock chuck. Also, the turkeys let you get pretty close. Great place to practice wildlife photography or test out a new lens.
There is a clean bathroom! The tent area is spacious enough. There is a place where you can get water. There is a place to wash dishes. Wish it was closer to the lake so you can swim.
The trails for hiking, biking and walking. Love being amongst the trees and near the lake, love being near water and a wonderful place for walking my dog. Just a beautiful place to be outside. Pretty nice campground too.
Great place for a hike, walk, run, or to relax by the water on a bench. I love that places like Spring Lake exist such a short drive from the hustle and bustle! I love the smell of the trees here; it reminds me of summer camp in the mountains. Why havent they figured out how to bottle that yet? This place is dog-friendly, which is nice. What is even nicer is that I did not see any dog poop on either of my visits so far, so kudos to conscientious dog owners. Spring Lake is definitely worth your time.
Always beautiful and well-kept, this park has been one of my weekend homes since I was a toddler. There are very easy paved trails, and somewhat challenging ones. Lots of wildlife and plants, a beautiful lake, campgrounds, and much more. Spring Lake is always worth a visit.
Its large! Walking, biking and exercise stations throughout. Also off-road biking and hiking. Literally miles of paths. Park Ranger Station always available.
Nice lil peaceful spot, theres swans and ducks and can remember who you really are
Easy walk, decent hike and bike, and some nice fishing spots.
Just a beautiful place and you can make friends!
Great place to relax and bring the kids. Youll find many varieties of ducks, geese, birds, and a pair of swans. Hiking, biking, walking, picnicking, and more.
Really nice park. Lots of easy trails to walk and nice places to fish. Bluegill for days in the lake and I did see a few bass. Didnt manage to catch any though
Great park for hikes and enjoy with the fam!
Grew up as a kid coming to this beautiful park and now Im enjoying great walks with my own daughter ! Excellent place for a stroll or run.
This place is nice to fish, at night, when theres not 500 people around the bank and people riding bikes on the trails and all the trash
Pretty chill staff, kayak rentals are decent at 12/hr though Id reccomend bringing your own inflatable or watercraft as there might be a waiting list.
I love Spring Lake park. Its a nice oasis in Santa Rosa, CA. Beautiful lakes and so many walking and hiking trails. Dog friendly too!
Park is clean and you have your choice of paved or unpaved paths. Lots of directions to go for short walks or longer. Fair amount of nature for being in the middle of the city. Sometimes can have crowds depending on time.
Need to do a low stakes camp out?Need to do a practice camping run?Have kids who may or may not be able to do a whole trip?Need to be close to a hospital while camping?Spring Lake is a perfect getaway to nature when you need to stay close to home.We did an overnight trip and got the kiddo use to some of the camping traditions (like making a fire!) without worry. It also helped us remember what we need to bring and do better next time. Such a great decision for some low stress camping
Beautiful as always. Miss this park as weve moved away from Santa Rosa. To have these incredible mountains, hiking trails, lakes and wildlife is a treasure.
Beautiful Park! Lots of easy, paved trails. The lake is beautiful and great for kayaking and canoeing. There is a great area for picnics and reserving space for parties. Lots of geese and mallard ducks and if youre lucky youll see a night heron or a blue heron in the water.
Rented paddle boards and single kayaks. Had a great time. Long wait so get there early and be patient.
This place is magical!! Lots of ways to go and beautiful scenery !!
Spring lake is always enjoying. Love being able to be outdoors and enjoy nature. The trails are always well kept too.
Great place to take the dog out hiking. Lots of trails to choose from, some easier than others. Great wildlife viewing too!
I love the environment. So serene and the hiking and camping sites are very nice. One of my best place to spend my weekends just closer to home.
A nice variety of trails to choose from - paved and unpaved. Lots of benches to enjoy the view and the wildlife. Facilities are well kept too. Definitely an enjoyable place to spend the day!
Best place to ride your bike and to hike.
Nice large park with lots of benches to sit on if you are a little older and need a break. Lots of trails and dogs and even a horse area . Not many hills but just a few small ones. You can swim during the summer but that water looks nasty . Great place to get a good 3.5 mile walk in
Absolutly great, not many people, not too hot, and a nice brezze.
It was beautiful peaceful serene and wonderful. I took my Pitbull her name is Angel we had a wonderful day. Met a few nice people and they pet my dog and one lady even told me that I had a really nice complexion. Today was a blessing
Nice quiet park with lots of trails and water
Hiking/walking trail is extremely beautiful. Its a must on a cool sunny day.
Wonderful regional park. Back trails are great and when the flood level is lower the paved trails around the lake are easy.
A very scenic park
I taught my kids to swim here years ago when all they had was a floating rubber log. Today it has a full on floating swim park kids can access for a few dollars and they have vests for them. Their are showers between lake and parking lot so you can spray down your kids and toys before hopping in the car. There is plenty of parking. The swim lake is monitored to deal with contaminants so don’t believe stories about water issues from like 25-30 years ago. Your kids will not be bored here with the park, the swimming, the sand. Bring chairs, sand toys, towels, your own floats/tubes as rental for a tube is actually too much if you go often (although with the water park addition tubes are old school).
Love nature walks and hiking. Its a beautiful park and lake.
Great place to walk the dogs, ride a bike, go for a run, etc, etc. And its beautiful!
Spring Lake Park is a northern California treasure. Its part of a connected piece of land that includes a city park, a county park, and a state park. It takes about 40 minutes to walk the loop around the lake at an average speed. There are families with strollers, dogs, picnics, runners, trees, blackberries, bicycles, geese, resident birds, sometimes swans and even gentle skunks. This is a park for all of us, for which I am so grateful.
Excellent park with biking, running, and walking trails
Just went kayaking at spring for the first time. Very relaxing and the staff are chill.
Always a fun time. Family friendly. Worth it for the county parks pass to get free parking for the year. Just a stroll around the lake with the little one in the carrier or stroller is a nice get away without getting out of town. Dogs on leash for walks is pleasant. I would even take the kyak out for a calm paddle if I had time. Great way to show children local wild life or plants as well. With that said; Stay on the trail and dont ruin it for the rest of us.Dirt/gravel trails and also paved trails for bikes and strollers. Easy for everyone.
Great location and well maintained.
I love that there is an opportunity for a beautiful walk around a pretty little lake surrounded by trees and picnic areas. Everyone is always friendly and courteous whether you are biking, jogging or walking. Athletes juxtapose families and elderly as all enjoy the outdoors just minutes from the city.
One of my favorite places, was a parks and rec intern here in 1984. Been going back ever since, great place to walk, run, ride.. lots of wildlife and fresh air
Beautiful landscape and walking paths. Lots of technical single track for all you mountain bikers.
A fantastic local park with camping options. Be aware that the park closes at sunset, so the hours are seasonal. There are many trails for running and biking; horse riding trails are also present. The lake is quite serene, making it a great choice for a picnic spot or just an afternoon stroll.
A great place for a hike, a bbq or a swim. This a popular year-round destination for people of all ages. During the summer, the swimming lagoon opens and also includes an inflatable play structure that has to be seen to be believed.
A great hidden gem. A swim hole with treated water, with lifeguards! Surrounded by picnic tables and BBQ grills. There is a snack bar, rentable floats, and a floating obstacle course with life jackets. Just across the parking lot is another lake for fishing and has boat and canoe rentals. There is a great trail for biking or walking. Being your dogs, just make sure they are on leashes. Beautiful wildlife, great views, great place. Parking is $7. Well worth it. We highly recommend this place.
I’m reviewing this campsite. It was very dry and dusty compared to some other campsites we’ve been to. They have full showers (bring quarters for hot water) and lights in the bathrooms. They have boxes to keep critters out of your food, but our the door for our box in campsite, #18, had a hole chewed through the door.I recommend checking out each reservation description as the campsites vary in size and space. For example, campsite 18 has place for two tents but some sites only have space for one.The hike to the swimming lagoon is not too far away and is maybe a 15 minute walk. However, we came during a heat wave and opted to do the 3-4 minute drive over to keep the kids cool. At the swimming lagoon they have a inflatable water park for kids 6 and over and has a certain height requirement.
The walk around the lake is 1.5 miles or 4 miles, depending on which route you take. Absolutely beautiful either way .
Very beautiful park for fishing walks biking swimming family bbqs and bday celebrations. Ive got memories going back to catching my first blue gill here to the world record bass being caught and released in 1998 by Mike Douglas. Still have the article in the 1998 Bass magazine! Love this park!!! My son celebrated his birthday here. Did i mention they rent boats in the summertime.
Great place to get out in the fresh air.
Was nice swim area was closed though so was lol disappointed
There are several trails around the lake and it is so beautiful, serene, and full of wildlife
Lots of trails, and most people are wearing masks. A great pandemic outing!
Spring lake is lovely. I wonder sometimes if the locol law enforcement keep track of missing persons out of spring lake, howarth Park and annadel, I woild be curious to know if there are any missing persons out of those three areas, ideas?
Great day for a hike.
So beautiful. Nice 2mile walkway around lake. Other people walking too, safe, not isolated unless you want to venture off. There is a lagoon for swimming and great for families too. Campsites also on lake . $7 parking, credit cards or cash. Enjoy!!
Great spot to walk your doga
Lots of mushrooms and fun to be had with family just walking around the lake.
Great walking trails for hiking with pets
Great place to relax but it a little bit far!
Its a good park to do many things with family or just you. Certain seasons you can do different activities like in summer, you can swim in the swimming lake. In winter you can hike the park terrains.
Spring Lake is a beautiful place, where you feel sooooooooo free and peaceful. Spring lake is the perfect place to bring your best friend! Your dog!!!!! Sorry cat lovers. At this destination, many events are held, including cross country and track races. Although, it does cost money to get in, it is totally worth it! Enjoy!P.s. I guess you can bring your cat if you want.
Beauty place to exercise, relax or just unwind with the family and fido.
Wonder wonderful area to get some exercise and walk the pooch. I had a great time visiting both lakes!
Best park in santa Rosa area...dog and kid friendly. Great place for a 2+ mile quick walk.
One of the nicest parks in Sonoma County. My wife and I enjoy riding the 2.5 mile paved cycling path. In addition, there is camping.
Spring Lake is a tribute to forward thinking to enhance the quality of life in Santa Rosa....what will we need 50 years into the future? Water, open space and recreation close by. The old highway route should be planted now with native trees as an extension of the park.
We visited the lagoon for the Water Bark event and it was incredible! I love seeing parks be completely open and inviting to dogs. They close down the lagoon for a few weekends at the end of summer and only open it to dogs. I cannot praise this place enough.
Great place to walk and see nature.
A great, unique experience. Great value, and the kids wear themselves out! Its a chlorinated, man-made lake. No fish, no lake grass, plenty of lifeguards. Wear foot protection. The sand is H O T.
The lake got walking trail, horse trail and nice bathroom.
Make it a daily routine well worth the the thoughts I most likely would of never had if I didnt take maybe a full 30 min 45tops to complete the if not mistaken 3 mile scenic walk on top of being flooded with endorphins that only came because I decided to go on a simple walk
Good ride, everyone were very friendly.
Great place to get out and enjoy nature.
Nice trails for walking, running or biking. Roped off swimming area w/ lifeguard on duty. Waterpark area for kiddos. Noticed kids were all wearing life jackets. Well maintained park and lots of areas for families. Entrance fee though or you can buy a yearly pass.
Very good afternoon walk. The lake and the views were wonderful. It is a little busy on the weekends, however it was worth the time spent.
Nice trails! Enjoyed the walking!
As a Santa Rosa native, Ive been enjoying spring lake my whole life. Beautiful place to walk, hike, picnic, fish- the whole shebang. Buy yourself a regional park pass and enjoy the ample parking.
Beautiful place
Great place for a family. My daughter loves the water park. Kids need to be 42 inches or taller to play on it. It costs 10 bucks for the day or 60 for a season pass. The snack shack has beer and food.
