This Art Movie Theater runs a consistent offering of excellent films that may not be available in mainstream movie theaters. The down side is the musty odor prevalent in the smaller theaters in the building. There is a nice snackbar with healthier sweet snacks and good popcorn. Several restaurants within walking distance.

I appreciate the theyre willing to show films like foreign films and other less big ticket films that are high quality. I recently saw Greenbook and Never Look Away both of which were thought-provoking and well-made movies. The setting is also quite comfortable.

Theater #2 smells like mold. It was so bad I couldnt stay to watch the movie. This place needs a good cleaning.

Keep up the good work, loved the Aretha & Ronstant documentaries, need more like them.

Old school place for great indie films

Cool theatre, and I really liked the movie I watched. Seems to attract older people, which leads to excellent people watching when they enter a dark room, hehe!

I love the diversity of films they show, but Im still shocked by the prices for soda and popcorn. But maybe thats just me.

An intimate feeling, comfortable theater, love the Staff, they are very friendly and helpful.Popcorn is fabulous, lots of toppings to make it flavorful and fun, coffee/tea selections are great.Small tables for sharing with friends is a lovely touch before or after films, and the reviews of films on small flyers to take with you is an added touch that makes one feel excited for the coming films.

Old fashioned movie theater

We saw the vice and for me personally i have a huge heart for the African American culture and how things were and still are in come places in our country.With that said I really loved how both the doctor and tonys perspectives on each others cultures were changing for the good through out the movieIm not a movie person at all but i would definitely see that movie again

Kind of an older crowd, but Im getting up in years myself, so...And,... They have added beer and wine to the concession options. Hooray for adult beverages!

Loved this theater! My sister and I went to see Mama Mia, Here we go Again, the theater was clean and nice looking; of course the snack bar was too expensive, but everything else was great.

This is a lovely destination for a quirky movie. For someone like me whos not really into movies, its kind of a when I feel like going kind of place, but it really is a fine establishment.

Nice low key theater. Good ticket price. Uncrowded. No long lines. Clean. Good parking. The movie I wanted to see.

Nice and clean, easy access, descent parking thats free. Very nice staff and the snack counter has some really nice healthy options and well as all the junk food we love. Very often if the film you want to see is considered an art film this is the only place youll be able to see it as it was intended.

Nice independent Cinema. When your tired of the big movie productions. Come here and see something different. Summerfield doesnt take itself to seriously as some Independents do. They have s nice snack bar and there are plenty of options nearby for a meal before or after. Go for a walk around Howarth park and Spring lake then relax and take in a movie

Wonderful film selections. More art house than mainstream. But shabby, sad interior. Makes me glad the lights are low. Excellent location. Always parking available. WHY cant you renovate ONE theater a year?

This theater has really grown on me over the past several years. Its my go-to for independent and non-blockbuster films, and always has something to suit my interests. The theaters themselves are mid-sized and not overly impressive - no fancy reclining seats or stadium seating, and sometimes the volume is such that I feel like Im straining to hear the movie - but not having to sit through innumerable ads before the previews is always nice. I especially love the concessions offerings and the way theyve sourced delicious treats from local businesses to suit every craving. Even the complimentary water comes in cucumber or lemon.My only gripes are with the limited parking (not their fault, as the lot is shared with several other businesses), and the awkward entrance/queueing situation - minimal inconveniences for an otherwise great experience. Summerfield is also part of the Santa Rosa Entertainment Group, so its a great opportunity to use the free rewards card to earn points toward movie admission, drinks, and popcorn.

Chais are comfortable. I didnt want to get up and leave. However bring a jacket gets a bit chilly

Very nice small, comfortable theater

I doesnt like how they took over Rialto. it is still a nice place showing less conventional movies. Last time I went the cleaning started while the credit was still showing, and they didnt see anything wrong with that which is very disappointing.

Great theater! Excellent restoration, they really captured a 1920s feel with a sharp edge. Well done. Love the selection of movies that are filtered throughout the month.

Always on my list for solo or group movie trips. One & half hours from home or coming back from Bay Area, same distance. Clean venue, welcoming staff, variety of goodies & excellent choices of art films rarely available north of SRosa. 4-6 films play throughout the day so there’s rarely an hour wait for some new-to-me movie starting. Have been seeing Summerfield movies for at least 20 years. Only once, maybe 4-5 yrs ago, arrived to discover my choice was sold out at 1:30 or 2pm. Bought tix & trotted across st to park to ramble for 95 minutes before ‘my’ movie started again!

I love this theater and the movies it plays. The new seats are extremely comfortable. Thank you for hosting the flicks the mainstream theaters are afraid to have. Offering wine and beer would be a great addition. I know its probably difficult to get an alcohol license though. Bonus, the popcorn is the best Ive ever had! A+

Totally local. I went to see a locally made film that never would have made it to a big theater. Im glad that places still exist for more artistic movies.

Great old theater playing less mainstream current films. Also their popcorn topping bar is fun and includes nutritional yeast.

I love coming to this theater very comfortable seats etc., however the last time I was there I had a problem with one of the employees, she sells tickets at the door. I asked for 2 senior tickets, when she handed me the receipt it indicated 2 adult tickets. I told her I asked for 2 senior she preceded to tell me no you didnt I said yes I did again she said no you didnt we continued this game for awhile and she finally gave me my change. This rude person has no business working with the public, all she had to say was Im sorry I didnt hear you and correct her mistake. This all took place on 1/1/16 at the 2:15 pm showing of The Danish Girl. Dont know if I will ever come back, but will tell this story to everyone I know.

Great mix of movie offerings--unique to our area. Clean theaters and restrooms. Friendly staff. Good popcorn. I wish theyd have Coke instead of Pepsi but, hey, you cant have everything.

A good place to see a flick. Used to be owed by a private company, now owned by a larger chain, but the intimacy of an art house theatre remains. Oh and some of the best popcorn ever.

This tiny theater plays independent and smaller films. Go here if you want to see something that is very different from the standard box office fare. More artsy and more indy is definitely best way to describe the cinema played here. The seating is fairly average, the concessions standard, the projection just good.

I like this theater a lot, but they keep the movies here WAY too long. Keeping films too long has got to hurt their bottom line. Also, I would like to see them play more foreign films. But compared to other theaters in Santa Rosa, this one is a treasure if you appreciate good films, comfortable seats, and a pleasant movie experience.

Doesn’t have movies that are hits like Despicable Me 3 when it came out and other movies like that, it was a disappointment.

The sound quality is not even close to par. Their stereo speakers never work. The volume is so low sometimes you cannot hear the dialog.Each of the theaters smell of mildew. The springs on the chairs are old and weak so the chair backs move way too far back. If the people behind you are not considerate you get kicked in the back when they cross their legs.If a film is shown elsewhere I always go there instead.

You can always find the more obscure, off beat movies here. Cinemas are clean and comfortable.

I like this theater, but they really need to do something about the musty smell inside the theaters. The lobby is fine, but when you open a door into one of the theaters, it smells like dirty old carpeting.

The employees could act less Superior and more polite. I am not a doddering old fool. I teach at a local college and have two Bachelor degrees and a Masters and while I may look old to them I am only 53. This has happened more than once. I told them that the website I looked at had a time different than what was there and all she did was print something out, shove it in my face and look smug. Not the first time this kind of thing has happened there. I worked my way through college, including at a movie theater.

Its our arthouse movie theater. Boutique, non-chain. Movies are curated by owner. Concession stand is like a coffee house. An evening for 2 is about $30-40.
