Very peaceful. Its a good hike up but when you get there, youre welcomed with nice breeze. Beautiful, overlooking views of the whole town of Sante Fe. If you are looking for a great spot for sunrise or sunset, this would be it! Good walk from the plaza. Its about a mile from the capitol. Close to other touristy spot. Its hard to find parking spot here just as it is around downtown Santa Fe.

This is my sacred place! Anytime I feel low, I go there I walk through the trees and down the path to the cross! No matter who you believe in or what you believe in, you can clear your mind and talk to the universe stare out at the city Sea of trees and just know that youre not alone and that everything will be all right! It has a special place in my heart! Ive been going there since I was a teenager and every time it feels like a healing place. Not to mention it is historical place your people live hundreds of years ago!

Came to see the sunset on a rainy night in Santa Fe. It stopped raining in time to get out & explore the grounds a bit. Plenty of parking and a great view, though I can imagine that on clearer nights, this place would fill up quickly. I can’t hike at the moment due to an injury, so I liked that this was really flat and really easy to walk. Great place to see the 360° view & sunset!

This is an excellent spot for great views of the city. I just happened to stumble upon a small wedding ceremony, so it seems to be ideal for that or maybe even a proposal.

This is actually part of the Fort Marcy Memorial Walkway, which is not listed by Google maps. A great place for an after-dinner constitutional to take in the sunset. Walkway starts on Paseo and continues past the cross to another parking lot near the Kearny condominium development.

Nice place to view the sunset and overlook Santa Fe. While goimg up towards the cross you can read the plaques that give historical accounts of the history. You could park at the bottom but I guess theres a way to park towards the top. Santa Fe is a blessed city.

It is a wonderful hill with the name Cross of the Martyrs. This is a new cross of the Martyrs, because from that very top of the hill I can see another old Brown Cross, and I did check that to make sure that is also name The Cross of the Martyrs before the white one here in this hill. For memorial 22 friars of Franciscan Order had been kill at the time civil and the church had authoritys conflict. And also wrote down the history of the place too, Santa Fe, the first or oldest capital of US, more than 300 years. I climbed there not only one time, every day when I was there I spent just 8 minutes from Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi to there, because I could see the sunrise very clearly from the hill and look down to the center of Sante Fe, where the Basilica and Loretto chapel take places.

Nice park with a great overlook. There are interesting historical markers and the ruins of an old 1850s fort. The walk up is mellow and wheelchair accessible all the way up. One can park at the top or at a nearby park at the bottom. The elevation is just high enough to get a good view, but low enough to see the town clearly and up close.

Lovely view of Santa Fe, but its a bit run down and overgrown. Abode walls have been damaged for years. They try to keep up with the graffiti. Weird stuff Ive seen: a kid throwing watermelons and pumpkins over the side (it depends on the season but its been going on for several years), a man shooting up, various rituals involving flowers, incense, sage, yoga and chanting (but not all of those at once). I almost ran into a well-known actor (literally) as I was jogging through and he was filming something. The occasional dope smokers are present, but I dont know if theyll share; they didnt offer and I didnt ask. Ive also seen a random homeless person or two and a few suspected drug transactions.I think its mostly safe as Ive been running and hiking up and down here for almost 20 years. I would keep a cellphone handy just in case though.

Santa Fe doesnt really lend itself to great views from above but its definitely interesting to see. Fairly easy walk up and there are (somewhat difficult to read) signs on the way up walking you through the history of Santa Fe. Theres supposedly the ruins of Fort Marcy nearby but theres almost nothing left to see. The cross itself is loud in the wind and not exactly photogenic up close.

I definitely thought this was going to be a longer hike and a bigger cross, but it was a nice little paved uphill walk. Not strenuous or difficult, I would think no matter what shape or age its a 5 or 10 minute walk. My complaint would be the parking, as in there is none. :)

Walked up to the cross first thing in the morning and I gotta say it kicked off the day just right. Read all the plaques and learned a lot about the citys interesting history and once at the top was rewarded with a dope view of a waking Santa Fe. The cross wasnt quite as pretty up close as I had expected, but who cares. Highly recommended for any fellow travelers.

Its an easy walk to the top. The pathway is gradual so it doesnt seem as steep as it looks from the bottom. The plaques along the way make for an interesting history lesson of Santa Fe along the way. The cross and the view of the city arent that impressive especially with the cell phone tower right in the view. Still a nice walk close to town.

You can either climb the ridiculous set of stairs from the bottom (located on paseo de peralta) or drive around to the top parking circle. This is a fantastic place to watch the sunset or have a little picnic (if it isnt too windy!)
