Best surf spot in Santa Cruz. Most consistent waves that hold up in bigger swells. Great viewing from cliffs, cant find a more picturesque spot. Parking is the only drawback, but walking there is beautiful too.
Very scenic views, surfing museum and dog friendly beach
This is a Beautiful place! Public Bathrooms and a Steamers Lane cafe next to it with lovely Poke tacos.
Best spot to observe surfers in this legendary town of surfing.
This is perhaps the quintessential spot on Santa Cruz, watching the waves come in from Asia, all the surfers lined up patiently watching, the onlookers with their dogs and bicycles, and the Lighthouse memorial to a lost surfer...
Legendary surf spotScenic site
West Cliff drive is beautiful and a wonderful place to walk and just enjoy the experience.
Great views of Santa Cruz and the perfect spot to watch surfers catching waves.
One of my favorite places to go in Santa Cruz. Its beautiful up there with awesome views and a very pleasant walk.
Great place to go for a walk especially if you have any type of disability and theres a back that you can bring your dog my favorite spot is the snack shop all good food across the street from the light house is a buetiful place to stroll
Cool place to watch local surfers....or catch a few waves yourself if youve got the chops.
Love taking pictures of the surfers.
Gorgeous sunny day with high surf!
Beautiful
Some of my favorite places to surf. Locals are hardcore and know their brake. Stay out of the way get them when theres is an opportunity. Dont drop on people. Dont cut people off. Look to the left and to the right during the take off. This place gets packed...so know your limits when its booming!
Awesome place Be there.
Great surf cool museum and beautiful
Good view
Beautiful views, awesome bike paths, great place to enjoy the surfing
I saw a slippery boy slide right into the water. Later he stood up.
I love rhis place to surf.
Great view and great spot to watch surfers! The waves can actually get pretty big and there are a lot of rocks near the entrance to get into the water. Dont go in the water if its big and your not really a surfer and youll be good lol.
Great view of the coast! So many surfers!
Best surf spot on the mainland. Would give it 5 stars if water was warmer (ha) and if it wasnt so crowded (ha ha).
Love it my wife works there
Got told the rules about queuing for waves by a local. And saw some awesome riding
Great surf spot but crowded and cold water, marvelous sight seeing with beautiful sunset
World famous surfing spot - the waves can be very large at times. Fun to watch.
Classic Santa Cruz. Friendly people, beautiful sights. People walking, jogging, and watching surfers in the ocean. Free parking across the street.
One of the best places on the coast to watch surfers catch the break. Great place to jog or walk.
Knarly; Sick; and Bodacious !Great Surf Spot Too.Steamer Lane was named by Claude Horan while he was a student at San Jose State in the late 1930s; One flat calm day he and his friend Wes Hammond thought it would be a good idea to hire steamships to cruise back and forth to generate waves for surfing.
I love this place. Its a great place to jog, walk, surf or to watch surfer surf.
Beautiful, great for watching local surf talent and marine life.
Beautiful and free parking
Great surf spot. Gets crowded, though.
Beautiful spot.

I Love Steamer Lane! Origin and the surf city...
Nice place, but dangerous locals.
Awesome place!
The view!! Watch surfers ride down the cliffs, sailboats swim out to sea, and runners and dog-walkers finding themselves caught in the flow.
