The course is very challenging because it is narrow. It is not long under 6000yds from the white tee. Nice course in good condition. Greens are in pretty good condition and sand traps have sand (but no takes). Staff members are friendly and helpful. Course has no ball cleaners due to Covid. Miss not having them as I found myself wanting to clean my clubs and ball a few time. I was surprised to see so many people walking. Might have to try that next time.
Really nice local park with trails. Only reason for less than 5 stars is the constant tweaker population, and people with dogs off leash who then run up to your leash agressive dog
Best homemade sausage around and a great selection in the grocery store section but they are known for their meat market.
Great park for beginners to advanced players. 29+ holes of amazing Californian views and shots. Recommend bringing water, snacks and sun screen. 15k steps, 3hr trek, and 50 floors.
Very nice park, I liked it. It has everything you might need. Great kids play ground!
It has everything you need for a fun family day. Sports Field, a beautiful hiking trail, a playground and a just off of that there is aa bank that leads to a creek that is perfect for wading in during the Summer!
Nice city park, just STAY OFF the archery range. ACTIVE archery range for club members and their guests. The archery range is well marked, you dont want to accidentally take an arrow.
Nice trails for hiking and cycling close to town. The La Corona Trail is a good one for those who prefer a more gradual climb, starting from De Laveaga Park. It goes right up to “The Top of The World”, the famous disc golf tee-off spot. But be prepared for a few technical sections where the trail is narrow and has rocks and tree roots to be navigated.
Great hike! We did the upper loop which is ~1.5 miles at a moderate level. The hike takes you through a redwood canopy hugging the delavega golf course.
The park has been part of my life. Horseshoe pits. Through the years the park has improved instead going unrecognized as some parks have. Its the perfect park for people of all kinds and their needs.
One of my favorite parks in Santa Cruz because it is so beautiful seeing the surrounding trees. I occasionally bring my dog to walk the trails. Its a great area to relax and have lunch.
Another wonderful day at DeLaveaga disc golf course. Great trees, great weather, great course!
Great place for Frisbee, soccer, playing with your kids, having a picnic, having a barbecue. Even hiking. There are a ton of trails all around the park
Lovely forest trails to walk, a beautiful golf course, a world-renowned disc golf course, archery range, Shakespeare Santa Cruz on Summer evenings, much of it with Ocean views.
Such a great open space to run around with the kids!
The restaurant is open at De Laveaga golf course for patio dining !!!
Amazing disc golf course, best course Ive ever played.
Quiet, nice little creek for the dog. Bathrooms and bqq and picnic area
Beautiful course and excellent driving range. certainly a good challenge for most golfers! nice clubhouse and decent parking. definitely recommended!
It was a great experince, and I enjoyed the driving range
We go there for the yearly Shakespeare Santa Cruz theater in summer. One of our most memorable and favorite event. Starting in the evening picnic outside with a glass of wine before the show starts. Sometimes the fog sets in engulfing surrounding eucalyptus trees and parts of the stage. What is wonderful experience this is every year.
Soccer fields, hiking, a playground, horseshoe posts, and huge picnic area. Lots of fun for so many interests and ages. Can be pretty muddy after extensive or long term rain, but that is to be expected. If you come at the right time of year there are loads of tasty blackberries as well.
Awesome trails next to the golf course! Go
Feels very much like an after thought to the golf course. Trails are narrow, overgrown with poison oak, and while there are many options, its difficult to cross over between parallel tracks bc the hill is so steep. Not a great hike with dogs.
Beautiful new park. Diverse equipment, even an industrial strength marimba and xilophone. Parking lot fills up, but there is also plenty of street parking.
Great for walking !
A beautiful park & a great course! They even have a little shop to buy local merchandise. Happy birthday to my guy :)
Great venue for softball. The lights are bright and the ingield is well maintained. The overall field is smaller (left center and right are 240 distance) but for co-ed its perfect.
This post refers to the disc golf course. Its is the most challenging disc golf course in the world. The view from Top of the world on the final teepad is worth the hike to get there. A must play if your a discgolfer.
Watch for the levymen. If you are very still, they appear like animals at a wooded lake devoid of human contaminants two thumbs up D:
Traveled from Alabama to play this course and it did not disappoint. Thank you DeLa for the great challenge and quite possibly the best course Ill ever play. Top of the world was breath taking. Videos of this course do not do it justice. Only complaint is course was hard to navigate as a first timer.
Hiking trails, views, golf and disc golf. One of the worlds best disc golf courses, and one of the first, true pioneers of the sport who made it popular and famous. Right in my home town where Ive been going to hike and disc since the late 80s, before it was still amature and before it became so professional.
One of my favorite parks in Santa Cruz. Tucked away in the winding back hills, it opens up to a huge field, many trails and a creek.
Plenty to do for kids of all ages. Baseball, soccer and football fields. Public swimming pool and playground for kids. All nestled in a Redwood grove perfect for picnics. Explore the old cemetery if you dare.
Amazing park,. Very large. Plenty of room for lots of kids
One of my favorite places to walk/run the trails. Dog friendly, make sure to bring some poop bags banana slugs, deers, squirrels and a Frisbee golf course. Cleanest bathrooms ever, beautiful views and positive vibes.
Beautiful park in the towering redwoods. Plenty of parking, if you get there before noon - like 10am! Clean facilities, well maintained. 5 Stars from me!
Great disc golf course guy at the disc golf shed was awsome and very helpful
Its ok. The BBQ pits are all rusted through their bottoms. The bathrooms and playground could use some upkeep but overall it is a beautiful park.
Any and every park should get a five star rating. Open your mind to the world around you and appreciate things for as they are.
Been playing disc golf here for 2 years now. The park is always in great shape. The disc shack and Thmoas are awesome (we will miss him) this is a great course for all ranges of players
Beautiful, plenty of parking, hiking trails, Baseball fields, picnic tables, dog friendly. just an amazing place to spend the day.
We had our daughters wedding there. When we got there to set up it had been cleaned up and they placed enough garbage cans around. There was a problem with the electric but after a quick call they sent someone out, with in a very short time, and he was able to fix it.
Awesome place. Nice challenging disc golfing course with a neat little shop to buy discs at. If you like disc golf, you must visit here.
This is one of the worlds best Disc Golf courses challenging, beautiful and rewarding to play. There is something for everyone here big long fairways as well as holes where the average player can score a duce. This course is truly world class.
Very nice clean and lots of room
Stellar disc golf course.
It was great!
Man talk about an epic disc golf course. The pros make it look way easier than it is. A true beauty go have some fun and throw some discs.
So so beautiful and also one of the best disc golf courses ive played!!! Warning not for the weak legged player! 27 holes to challenge ur discing skills! On site disc shop 2$ parking and all the wonderful nature u want or dont stay on the trails if u please!
Fun little park tucked away from the madness. Lots of shade, tables and BBQs. Lots of open grass area but no playground. Also a fun location to play softball.
One of the OG courses of our era
Its really lush right now, very green and pretty. They have trails that hike up into the mountain and a creek nearby. Really nice park.
Fun range with friendly staff. Seems to be well maintained. Full bar nearby with outdoor seating.
Dead trees and mushrooms for days! Come lose your disks and get angry anytime someone refers to them as frisbees at this unexclusive club for hippies looking to go on the slowest hike this side of the missississississippy.
Good bike or hiking trailsFrisbee golf
Variety of hiking trails, adequate shade on trails for summer hiking without excessive sun exposure & overheating. The Top of the World hike leads to a wonderful overlook of the Monterey Bay area
Great place for Baseball, Frisby with the Dog, Company party, Birthday Party, Party-Party, and and a creek with kids area and play structures.
A great park for family events. The park is clean and great for kids.
Beautiful, green, large and always clean. It can be a bit busy so I would suggest if you want to get a good spot show up early!!!!
Great woodsy nature trail close to town
Beautiful disc golf course. Moderate hike. Sunscreen recommended, poison oak present.
Love this place. Huge grassy area and picnic pavilions you can reserve. Softball fields with lights. Bathrooms. Extensive hiking trails. Creek. Park open till 10pm. Huge mountain lion when you fall asleep and her locked in park.
De La is the best
Pretty course ...greens challenging nice staff
World renowned course. Bring extra discs or a spotter.
Nice park, beautiful redwood trees. I went to a big AA event and unfortunately had to leave early because there was not enough parking for the picnic and a lot of people got tickets.
Love this place! My dog and I enjoyed taking a walk along the fire trail. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
Amazing disc golf course and beautiful scenery
Love this park.
Really nice park. Lots of trails and a great amount of verticality and hidden paths. Really makes it worth while to go back. I do not bike but from what I see theres some nice spots to ride around.
Nice, quaint park. Has a pretty nice disc golf course as well.
Grew up coming here nice environment for kids and great hiking trails
This place has a awsome disc golf course. 29 holes and very challenging. There is a ball golf course too.
Amazing day. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Very cool spot to find different things ( banana slugs )!Ps: careful where you step in the water it’s slippery and I dislocated my knee cap lmao
There were so many dogs it was amazing
Good Views, great hiking trails. Not a golfer (disk or otherwise) but I heard from others that the Disk Golf course is well maintained, and the regular golf course looks...green :-)
I love this golf course.
Always a good day at De La...
Awesome disc golf course with a good variety of holes - wide open, wooded, uphill, downhill etc. The course is pretty long with 27 holes but totally worth a trip to Santa Cruz for a few hours
Really nice park. Lots of trails and a great amount of verticality and hidden paths.
Played here as a child. Loved it then. Its still beautiful now.
Check out the new outdoor bar next to the DeLaveaga driving range!
