We LOVE this park. So does everyone else! Pick off hours so there is room to social distance. Everyone we saw today had masks and even the kids knew to stay separated, but by the time we left around 11am on a Sunday it was hard to find a spot to play without being too close.

Four baseball fields, four tennis courts, half a basketball court, volleyball ball court and four grass fields that get converted to soccer fields. Plenty of parking, large trees provide excellent shade throughout the park. And a modern playground make this one of San Ramon best parks

Great ball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts. Restrooms are clean and accessible. Lots and lots of space. Benches and tables for resting and picnicking.

A very beautiful park, definitely giving off a Northern California feeling while there. Plenty of infrastructure for many sports; a baseball baseball field, a softball field, tennis courts, grills, play areas for children. This place had it all. A lovely park to visit.

This place is good for bbq and cookouts. The kids playground is still close.

Its closed now bcz of Covid but the game courts are open.

4 tennis courts plus picnic tables and clean bathrooms make this place a proper pit stop for a lot of service people on the go outdoors. Also good for family picnics in the sports field is in use for soccer player and softball.

Beautiful park. Convent bathrooms and water fountains, love the vending machine where you can get sports equipment. The tennis court is right there and has many courts. The playground is fun and tidy. Sand box is a little small, volleyball nets are also very convenient.Large field where soccer practices take place. Lots of seating with picnic tables, parties can be thrown here.

Grew up going to this park. Its huge, several fields and tennis courts. Great to walk and play with your dog, assuming you follow the leash laws! Also, if youre dog likes tennis balls, you will always be able to find some near the tennis courts

Me and My Family Love this Park!!! We Love it because we always throw our Annual Family Reunion BBQ at this park and weve doing since 2004. There is plenty of parking, it has a playground for the kids, basketball & tennis court, baseball field, a huge grassy area for soccer, bathrooms. The convenience of it being near the 680 freeway and close by a grocery store in case you need anything for your BBQ/picnic. This a very clean park, dog friendly.

Fun place to spend time with children. I recently did a birthday party for my 6 yr old here. If you live in San Ramon it will cost you $105 to book a table on a given day from 8 am to 7 pm. You will hv to book for entire day even if party is only for few hours. Also book in advance specially if the party

My kiddo is wheelchair bound currently and most parks are hard for her. This park was Great though!! She was able to do so much here and she had a great time, as did my able bodied kiddo!

Great place for family and friends

One of the better parks in San Ramon. Has a great playground area for the kids. Plenty of picnic table areas with BBQs. Mature trees to give shade from the summer sun. Parking lot is close to the park which is great if you are pushing a stroller or carrying things over to a picnic table.

Its a very nice park. Has a play area, sports park, picnic area (best to reserve online) with bbq. I like the shade trees in the picnic area. They have a website check it out

This park is amazing for kids. My nieces are 2 and 4, and there is something here for both of them to have fun doing. The climbing area is challenging but not so hard that it is no fun for a 2 yr old.

Love this place. Pros: structure in good shape and have noticed issues are taken care of regularly. Cobs: only half basketball court.

If more parks will like this one we would all spend more time at the park with our kids. Hands down this is my favorite park to take my daughters to.The play area is large, modern, well maintained, and filled with unique interactive elements including jump points on the ground which trigger sounds. The devil is in the details though and Athens Down delivers with rubberized ground, good shade on both the play structure and surrounding area, and even a handicap swing.Leaving the play structure Athens Down does not depart from its well-conceived nature. From multiple large fields, to volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, and even room to ride a bike or skate there is practically something for everyone.It is possible to reserve a time for a party event but you will still want to get there early, have your paperwork, and be prepared to tell someone who may try to set up in your spot that they have to move; because it isnt clearly marked as reserved.

I always enjoy the park in early morning when the sun barely out. The park is kept pretty clean and also very safe to be, even at night. Tennis courts are in good condition. Good place for baseball and tennis games as well as gathering. Theres always a police unit car frequent the park at night. The only thing that Im sadden are those dying redwood trees along Montevideo Dr. I wish there were something to be done to save them.
