Hidden away in the suburbs of San Marcos is the perfect 3 mile hill that offers an ideal 1 hour workout. Get off your butt, hike, run or ride this hill once or twice a week and in a few months you will be transformed
Nice spot to start your trail walk with your friend or animals. This is a horse-friendly staging area with room for horse trailer parking. The parking lot is dirt, so expect your car and shoes to get dusty.
Good little trail. I take my dogs here all the time. Only problem is when there are horses on the trail they take up all the space and when they go to the bathroom they dont pick it up so there can be giant lumps of doodoo on the trail. Otherwise beautiful trail, great overlooks. Bmx rideable, well maintained and one of my favorite little hikes to go do
This is a beautiful and breathtaking trail thru the hills of San Marcos, California
Nice trail head with tables and restrooms. Easy access to all the trails all around Double Peak Park. Much easier way than starting at Discovery Lake.
Awesome View
Good place
Peaceful morning and Gods sunrise
Nice hike out my backdoor
Only walked a small portion but liked the size of the trail and the ease of walking it. Will go back soon.
Great views east and north to San Marcos and beyond. Loops around to connect to Double Peak, which also provides fantastic vistas in all directions. The trail is easy to moderate, dog friendly, with abundant nature to enjoy. Parking is limited and the area is popular. Closes after sundown so expect to be back to your car before dark.
Very nice but hilly trail, ~3 mile to the water tower at the far end. First half is rough, rocky, and unpaved trail. Then asphalt for the 2nd half. About 900 of elevation gain on an out and back.Great views over San Marcos and mountains to the north, then towards Oceanside and the Pacific. If you really want an uphill test, go from trailhead to the asphalt, turn left and head up to Double Peak.:-O
Great great views
Well maintained, great running with either trail or road shoes.
Nice trails... Ranging from beginner to some steep and narrow paths... Definitely recommend this spot
Great view at the top of Twin Oaks which is a killer hill on a bike.
I got lost but its really good
Always have plenty park for cars, trucks, with trailers for horse and people can ride with their horse at that trail. There restroom and water to drink. It for walking, running, biking, horse riding. Nice view from the trail.
It is away from traffic. Great place to walk- more trails to discover.
Good start point for hikes and mtn bike rides. Water and bathroom available
Says its open but always have gates closed in the morning!
Nice on a sunny day
Great view
I ride this trail almost every day. Great workout!
Great trail. Well maintained.
Easy parking. Clean bathrooms. Great trails.
This is a good place to go for a work out. Cons: it is too close to the road and is dusty and noisy.
Nice easy walk. Paved path.
Beautiful views from a very fun trail
Awesome hike with great views. Facilities available at start of hike.
