Very quaint and quiet and q-ute . I was passing through and ate some vegan food in the pavilion area. The vegan food tasted great but upset my friends digestive tract. Fortunately no one noticed.Great park

Beautiful, fun, romantic. What more can I say? Great place for a walk or a swim. The water is chili at first, but it feels great. Highly recommended on week days, the weekends are a bit crazy and a drunkest on summer holidays. The waters current is strong, so be careful, even when it looks very mild.

This is a Beautiful place to be with the family, water is super clear and cold but real good place to freshen up!!!!

They need to open the parks back up. People are crammed along the riverbank because the city and Texas State still have all of the access closed. Cant distance when theres no room to spread out. People are going to go to the river so just open the parks instead of having your security dude with his radio standing there waiting to snitch people out for entering your areas.

Stopped by the river after a job fair for a picnic. It was peaceful and the water as clear as I remember it from my time at my Alma Mater. Id recommend the San Marcos river for fun, relaxation, and even workouts.

I only gave this place 5 stars because this is where I was baptized and my sins were washed away. I cant swim, so I cant speak for the tubing that also goes on in the river. They also have a sidewalk for people to ride bikes or walk/run.

Always great place to go take your furr babies for a walk and a quick dip in the clear river water during summer months.

What a winter wonderland they made it they have a adventure amusement park that just add even more to the wonderful lights. I took so many great photos I hope to post them all over the next few days and return to enjoy more of the fun and festivities

Just visited this park for the Christmas lights and it was very pretty. Expected way more lights but still good overall. Apart from the Sounds of Christmas lights, that park is very beautiful to visit. Its right on the river.

Kids love this place. Though we all miss the old wooden playscape. This one does not feel like it has as much character. There are less trees for shade than there used to be. Also there used to be a nice shaded sitting area for the parent to chill while kids played but not there anymore. A few design choices I thing where nor considered.Also while I am all for making it handicap accessible the fact that all up front parking is a bit ridiculous, when I have never seen more than 2 of the 6+ handicap spots in use.Also the Park Rangers need to watch the parking abut better to make sure people are not parking there to go to the river. Which happens then there is no parking close for parents actually bringing their kids to the park.

The park is clean the water is cold and clear people where friendly nice place to take family and have outdoor fun

Dopest skatepark in Hays County in my personal opinion! Really cool street course and a flow bowl!

This is where they hold sights and sounds of Christmas, its an amazing event,fun 4 the whole family, during the summer its great 4 a walk or a picnic and just 2 hang out, theres a bridge 2 walk over the river 2 get to the lions tube rental, it is a little hard 2 find parking though.

Summer Concert Series Rocks!

I take my boys down there to swim in the summer. Since the city put the big limestone blocks on the shore, it is easier to get to the water and provides a place for people to sit. We like to go under the railroad bridge. When the train goes over, its loud and kind of exciting.

Great place to come visit the river or have a picnic or grill out. Garbage cans and recycling bins available with lots of picnic tables and space to run and play games or ball.

Misnamed here. The park is actually called Verimendi plaza park. Its historic, well kept, and lovely to eat lunch at. Downside is theres no visual or audible sheild from usual daily city traffic.

My fiance and I were in town for 4th of July for a show at the marc and happened to stumble across a little festival in this park. We had a blast! Talked to really cool people, checked out the local vendors, and had awesome sno-cones! Great memories here.

All of the San Marcos parks are well kept and busy. There is no charcoal grilling anymore though.

Everything was beautiful and clean! The river was lots of fun too!
