Nice 9 hole Frisbee Golf course, which is not heavily used. Some of the holes are pretty challenging.They also have a grassy enclosed area used as a Dog Park. Plenty of parking when I have been there.

Montiel Park is a nice little park! There is a fenced area for off leash dog play - please keep your dog leashed when not in the fenced area, a half basketball court, picnic tables, and a disc golf course. There are a lot of native and drought tolerate plants. Its a great place to bring the family.

Went there for the first time around 4 pm, only 1 dog, a lab was there. I have a 7.5 lb Yorkie he enjoyed it. Love to go when there are to many big dogs there

Clean park, plenty of parking and seats. Most watching their dogs and cleaning up. I like that this park has grass so my dog doesnt get too muddy.

Went discgolfing for the first time in 10 years at Montiel. The landscape makes a nice course. It used to just be a dirt field. Was searching for my disc and there is someone camped out, probably homeless, at the very top of the hill behind the shrubbery.

Closed from October 1st to November 15th..... wish they would have posted that information before driving there

Great little park good for little dogs! Big dogs should be well behaved or Id imagine youll get the stink eye or cold shoulder from other visitors. Disc golf is a good little mini golf course. I pard the front 9 from the A tees. There is poison oak in the middle of the course but easily avoided if you decide not to play the B tee on hole 2. Great park for putters only challenge!

Cute park. Went to check out the Dog park for the first time but it’s closed until Oct. 31 for maintenance...will post new review after it opens. Just walked the dogs instead...nice little nature walk trails and seemed pretty clean just bummed the dog park was closed with nothing to indicate it’s closure online.

The dog park is nice and well maintained. However, if you have a small dog, I dont recommend that you come here. Dogs of all sizes are mixed, today we had a couple of big ones picking on my miniature Schnauzer. The owners didnt seem to care and I cant be mad at the dogs, only irresponsible owners, so we had to leave.

Awesome dog park, but keep in mind the kind of people that come here are a little soft, had people telling us that we shouldn’t be at the dog park if our dog doesn’t come to you when called. Like I get it boomer, but how am I supposed to train my dog how to socialize if I can’t bring them to a park?

Went 2 check it out with my 2 year old Yorkie. He was curious, but not scared. Plan on going back to get him more comfortable.

Beautiful park, only downside is dog owners need to pick up after their dogs that dont use the park other than that the disc golf course is immaculate with some long tees just recently cemented in place as before the longs had rubber pads.

Great dog park, but it is still closed for the re-grassing. Last I saw was until Nov 18.

Decent dog park for socialization and getting some energy out. Not as spacious or as grassy as some, but has a great doggo water fountain, picnic tables to rest and sit, and an awning to provide some shade!

An interesting park with disc golf, half court basket, and dog park. Thats it. If you want to enjoy one of those, its great. No play ground or any thing else.

One of the few grassy dog parks in San Diego. Nice shade trees and seating with dog bags and water fountains for dogs to drink. Its only one dog park (not divided into dog size or temperament) and like all dog parks, your experience will largely depend on the other dogs and owners there with you. Parking is plentiful and park is easily accessible. Will be coming here often!

This park is always busy. It is subject to close when it has rained.

Nice park for dogs. Very green and always well-kept. Also, sometimes we take our metal detector and find random stuff.

Love the grass and shade!! This is the only dog park that we can go to because the ones with gravel (all of the other dog parks in San Marcos) tear up my dogs feet, since he chases a ball. Sometimes the regulars with their little dogs can be snooty and unwelcoming but ignore and enjoy the park. We like to walk the trail behind the park too, just watch out for red ants and snakes!

Nice park with frisbee golf and a small-medium sized dog park. The dog park is always open but usually has part of it sectioned off to preserve the grass since it gets pretty worn down.

Fun tiny disc golf course, 9 holes you can turn into 18 using the alternate tee pads. There is also an enclosed dog park which is well maintained.

Beware of the irresponsible dog owners who go to this park. If you cannot control your dog, do not go to a public park. There is a boxer who goes to this park and is out of control and attacks children.
