I hope this facility continues to grow. I thick its a great location for North County. We have always had to travel to San Diego for camps and tournaments for Basketball/Volleyball. I will be taking a tour off the facility to see what the future plans will be. My son attended a 3 day camp in August 2020. We hope that we will attend more events here.
Eden Park is a fantastic addition to San Marcos and will provide much-needed activities for the kids in San Elijo Hills and surrounding areas. As they expand on developing and expanding the facilities and offerings, Im confident it will really WOW the visitors. Ive attended two tours and am so excited for the vision. I highly recommend doing a tour if you can. It will get you excited for all the things to come.
My family and I just attended the November 2019 state gymnastics competition at this facility. It was an absolute joke. Our daughter competed during the last session which was in the evening. There was ice cold air blowing through the whole place causing all the gymnasts to freeze, making it difficult for them to stay warm while performing. Not to mention Everyone watching was frozen, had nowhere to stand much less sit. They had one bathroom facility for women and all gymnasts with ridiculously long lines. On top of that they had the nerve to charge $15 for adults and $10 for parking, which by the way was on the street. Regular competition meets were far superior to this place. We weren’t able to even see our daughter on half of her events. Perhaps this place is ideal for much smaller events, but most certainly not any type of large scale event whatsoever. Very disappointing!
Finally some activity at this property and it looks like a great community asset we can all appreciate. I disagree that this is the worst location ever, our community needs more things for the kids to do and hopefully more for adults soon too. And its way better than it becoming an industrial warehouse or manufacturing place.
We attended your facility for the gymnastics State meet in November 2019. Although you have great indoor courts, the setup was not the best for viewing. Usually for gym meets, the audience can walk around to the different events/apparatuses, but here we were stuck watching from our chairs from one side, the whole time. Perhaps have less space for the food/shirt vendors and more for the audience? (It was $15 for an adult!) Also, there were only 2 restrooms opened for hundreds of people, including our competing athletes... lonnnng lines. And please consider charging less for parking ($10) since its on the street anyway.
Im not a fan of all the sports parents blasting through the trailhead parking area in front of the entrance at 30mph+.I guess its a good thing that they finally figured out something to do with the old methane gas processing plant though!
World Class Sports and Lifestyle Destinations - LOL come on, what does that even mean? I have no idea what this place is, & Ive lived in this area since 01 & go by it 2-3x a week. There is literally nothing on the web (or there at gates) that explains exactly what this place is, what you can do there, what it offers, its purpose? As well, the traffic setup is absurd. NO left hand west turns out? You MUST turn right & go all the way up, into, through, u-turn in san Elijo all just to head west. So yes, it is going to contribute to traffic issues as we all just cut through other businesses simply to just go west. Great potential, but as its is... what is it?
This place is a joke for a basketball tournament! No air conditioning in a gym with 5 courts and 100’s of spectators. They only have two working ladies restrooms for over 500 people. For what they charge for parking PER day and games PER day. There should be a weekend pass offered like all the other tournaments we’ve attended.
Bad idea. Worse location. Guaranteed to ruin San Elijo hill community and dramatically increase traffic congestion, not to mention added fire hazard
