The cowshed is the second home to my best friends so I gotta go there if I wanna see em socially ^_^ That said this place is fun with its theme and karaoke stage. It has a very welcoming vibe to someone who doesnt drink. The food is yummy and that helps too. I recommend a patty melt with onion rings and mozzarella sticks.

I go here after work, everyone is down to earth and friendly. Drinks are affordable and in good variety. Atmosphere is perfect for laid back drinks with friends

Yummy hamburgers and well anything on menu is tasty! My favorites also include the wings, zucchini sticks and tot nachos!! Ray and Becca are awesome. I enjoy supporting local small businesses.

Always love the Cow Shed! Great dive bar! Ive been there a ton for drinks, karaoke, and birthdays ! Let them know if its your birthday or someone in your partys birthday and you get Dr. Rays special Birthday shot! Never tried their food.. they have 2 indoor pool tables, and an outdoor seating area where you can smoke and play ping pong. Highly recommend if you like the dive bar scene!

I came here at the urging of friends and it did not disappoint. It’s an eclectic neighborhood bar filled with prime people watching opportunities and immensely entertaining decorations everywhere you look. It’s worth coming with friends just for the experience of it all.

Good food decent prices. But slightly rude customers. Went in on a Saturday. Staff was polite. But I was able to hear customers making comments about me. I said nothing enjoyed the food and carried on .Dont plan on returning

This review is meant for the management of the Cowshed bar. This was my first time in and I have to say, Ive never had such a terrible experience with bar tender service in my entire life. Me and my party were ignored just about the entire hour and a half we were sitting at the bar. The bartenders were slovenly, rude and unprofessional.If it were possible to give a zero stars review I wouldve.0/10 would never recommend .

Not a bad dive bar... could use some CA Lottery Keno action or maybe a few pinball games to stay entertained during the day.

A local hole in the wall bar that is now a signature staple to San Marcos. Everyone goes here from college students to the regulars to people passing by. They got dollar bills on the wall. Lotta history here. They got bands on the weekends ranging from rock metal country occasional DJ nights hip-hop

Crowd was a little young and too feisty for me to truly enjoy the night. Seemed like a heard of obnoxious college kids.

I would recommend avoiding this bar if you are not a local. It took at least 20 minutes to be served at the bar as I was unfamiliar to the local crew. I was wrongfully charged $60 for three drinks. After questioning the bill and asking for an itemized receipt twice (which they refused to provide) the bill dropped to $30. The bartenders were disrespectful and threw my bill/clipboard down on the bar and walked away. I will not be returning.

I liked it for what it is, a quirky dive bar. The karaoke has quite a following thats entertaining to watch. The DJ kept things fun with singing himself and kept the drunks moving along. I got charged two different prices for same drinks at bar so keep an eye on that.

If you like east county style karaoke, this is it! The place is fun to look around and explore while waiting for karaoke. The crowd is definitely younger (at least on the weekend) so its a bit rowdy but, then Im not one for quiet karaoke either so to each their own. The rotation seemed decent. We walked in on a busy weekend night at around midnight and still got to sing within about 30- 40 minutes. Thats good. Being an avid karaoke person, the sound left a lot to be desired but it was fun, I cant lie and the host was cool. Its a cool eclectic spot.

Local dive bar so come inside under that context. The inside is larger than passing by would suggest. Patrons of all ages were having fun with Karaoke and dancing on a not too busy Saturday night. Bartenders are not attentive or friendly. Large parking area in the back. Pool tables and darts available.

I was a mover for 12 plus years and this would be a lot of work if you had to pack and move this place because there is sooo much stuff. Interesting stuff i might add. Bartender was nice. I think Ill be back soon.

Okay so I took a few year break from here and came back, and there was a new DJ who was okay and still the prices here are 5 to 10 times more than cheers.So thats why I want give 5 stars. Lucky I gave 4 only cause if the bartender Shara.This is a dive bar that used be busy now its kinda busy now.Bring your drink prices down.

This place is a trashy dive bar and not even the good kind!! Even though there were 3 bartenders we could hardly find one of them willing to give us service. The guy running the karaoke was a joke he would pick the same 4 people to go up and sing over and over again. It was my friends 40th birthday party and when we signed up to sing as a group we were number 13. One hour later we were number 20 and when I asked the guy running the karaoke he said it was his show, he was retiring and he would pick who he wanted. Total bs. We should have spent our money elsewhere and in the future we will.

The set up is ok but never have I been in a bar where the bartenders could care less about speedy service or accomodating the customers. I went on Friday night. They did get busy but there was no sense of urgency to serve the customers, always at least 5 empty glasses waiting, saw people wait 15 minutes for a drink....a good bartender could make bank here.....also the bathrooms are horrifying, no paper towels, clogged toilets, no seat covers...when we told the bartender she said not her problem. ..they do have a local crowd, but theyre the only bar around there so lucky for thrm

Its a hit or miss the owner is cool as well as the staff but sometimes it takes forever to get a beer.

This is one of the weirder dives I have been to but major points for originality. The smoke from the back patio wafts into the entire bar, which I find really gross and troublesome.

The mad cow burger is huge and will drip all over you but is incredibly tasty and worth it.
