Oh, my! This cinema house was hilarious! The seats were comfortable, and the screen was big and extremely loud. Also, the staff was very accommodating and nice to the customers. Honestly, I truly enjoyed hanging out and chill in your cinema house. It was satisfying and enjoyable. Thanks a lot. Ill be back!
Major complaints : seats and the screen size, which ironically make up the most important aspects of any movie theatre.Selling points:Quite often the only theatre in the South Bay playing a good selection of South Indian movies, especially Malayalam.Another highlight is their snack bar which sells treats from Bay Area Hot Breads bakery and they are really good.Ticket prices for some day shows (Tuesday I think) are reduced but normally they are around $12.Will definitely keep going back considering no other theatre is competing with them with the selection.
Place to catch up on all the new Telugu movies. Smaller theatres. Street parking
Pros : This is the only movie theater that screens most of the small/medium budget south Indian movies. The tickets are also reasonably priced ($12). Free parking available right across the street.Cons : The quality of the seats are pretty bad and the place doesnt smell good.
$8 on Wednesdays keeps this theatre in list. Definitely not in a good condition. If you are bored and wanna watch South Indian regional movies, can go here . They sell tea for $2 kind of ok. Not comfy or clean seats .
This place is very old and on the first glance, looks like it hasnt been maintained for a while. However for a $5 to $10 ticket, Id say its cool! The seats are good and the theatre is clean inside. You get some Indian snacks - Samosas, Puffs. Im giving this place a 5-star rating mostly because it brings a Rural-Indian-vibe to it and I go there whenever I miss my place back in India!
Great movie theater.
The place is run down and seems like a family owned entity. Do not go here expecting a mall or multiplex kind of environment . There is nothing untoward but just that it didnt feel clean, modern or classyI dont think Id go there again with family
They can definitely clean it a bit. Ladies bathroom was overflowing
A kitschy old theater that has a lot of background in an excellent area with lots of food and good movies
Bad maintenance, horrible smell. But no choice, as we dont have much theatre around for Tamil or regional movies
The movies that are available here are hardly available in any other theatre in the bay area. Conventionally speaking, the theatre is not great at all. However, if you are someone who likes to have samosa and tea while watching Indian movies.. this is the place for you.
Best movie Ive ever watched. Really positive experience!
Need to improve the standards. Worst seats. Single screen theaters in India are better than this one.
Old building and furniture. It caters to audience of languages like Telugu, Kannada and Tamil
Crying kids at EVERY show I have seen here.
The theater is old and nostalgic. I enjoy places like this, movie in hindi with English subtitles, it was very funny.
Good spot for latest South Indian movies
This is our fall back place for south indian movies, iff AMC or cinemark dont play them. Ive seen worst growing up in India. doesnt mean still have to live with that! hell! even they dont have that anymore. amazing theaters in Bangalore, Hyderabad etc. Then why four stars? place manage to bring latest releases from home and have beaten enough by other reviewers Frankly I prefer choice. If they really want to compete with big chains they should start with seats. couch seats or footrest would be nice. better audio experience would next
This is the only theatre that screens most South Indian movies especially Tamil movies. Seating or theatre ambiance might not be very good for usual big screen movie goers. Yet it gives local village Indian theatre feel to be there and watch native South Indian movie. 5 Star for that Indian local theatre feel. People who like to watch movies in local theatres in India will surely love to be here.
Here for egg puff and samosa. And of course Indian movies.
Famous for South Indian movie shows. Theater is old but Worth for the cost.
They dont have support for displaying full movie. After first half the guy comes and says sorry have to wait for 40+mins to play later part. And wont even refund ticket price.
As a theater it is very subpar. The seats are pretty bad and the sound effects arent great. But this is the only place in town where any south indian new movie can be seen immediately.
Small but Decent theatre. Kids below 5 may feel un easy with the seats. Public parking only.
Only place that has Indian regional movies around in Santa Clara area. Both theater and seats are very dirty. Could have been a good cinemas if they can keep it clean.
Old theatre specifically screens Indian movies of all languages . Ample parking on the side of the street. You get to pay 8$ to watch a new movie on discount wednesdays ..
Best to watch any Indian movies
Not up to Bay Area standards.. but no option for desi movies
Small auditoriums are converted into movie screens. reasonable ticket price and gives student discounts too. Congested seats by the way.
Good for Indian cinema. Do not expect seating, picture quality, or the screen size to be like amc. It is just like any other Indian theater. You get a local indian theater feel. Students get a discount in price when they show a valid student ID.
Good place to watch an Indian movie, there are only 2 screen rooms in this theatre. The movies have English subtitles so that definitely helps. The rooms are decent, cleanliness is okay. Prices are reasonable ($10/person, discounts on Tuesdays I believe). Parking can be tough to get so plan to arrive a bit early. Overall, nothing spectacular like some other movie theaters but not bad either.
Old theatre but kept quite clean. Parking is limited. Screens Indian films.
Feels like watching movies back home 20 yrs ago witj folks actively whistling
Cheap tickets (if you pay with cash and use your student id). Only place to get tickets easily for Tamil Cinema in Bay Area ! Wish they could provide better services, No leg room, Poor maintenance.
Small but good theater. This is the only one place in bay area to watch latest south Indian movies. Especially Malayalam and Tamil.Dont expect high sound quality and comfort, an OK film theater. Ticket price is cheaper as well. No rush and plenty of street parking.Again, compare to other US theaters, Average theater for watching Indian movies. Don’t expect too much.
One of the dirtiest theaters in San Jose. The floor was filled with pop corn and trash, better not use the bathrooms unless its an emergency. Screen is smaller than most theaters with below average sound quality, seating was weird in the hall I was in, very few ppl could actually sit toward the middle of the screen, most had to sit at a wide angle from the screen. Plaster was peeling and I saw that ming chutney served with samosa was sitting open.
Dear cinema theater owner, time to clean the place. It is disgusting everywhere. Lot has changed in terms of cleanliness in last few years
Place is a little dingy but otherwise can go and have fun.
Go to cinema place for South Indian movies. Would have given more stars if the snack area is renovated. The theaters are small which is usual for foreign movies. There is special discount for paying in cash on Wednesdays.
Good place for all South Indian movies but very small auditoriums.
Theatre isnt great but would rate it a 3-3.5 Star. Decent place considering where they are located in Downtown San Jose. Seats arent that great that you expect in a AMC or a Cinemark since Town3 is very tightly packed as area is not that big. But are decent enough for the 8-12$ ticket price they charge. They have 1 big Screen (3) and 2 Smaller screens (1 & 2). If they can upgrade the seats within the 3 screens they can definitely get more people in future who prefers to watch it in AMC or others as they feel the place is very limited and seats arent comfortable.
Not clean, mot well maintained, but when you want to see south indian movies, this is best place. And my comments are based on the comparison of a very good theatre to this one. This is not bad. But not up to the mark.
The only positive thing is they play south Indian movies. Theatre and seating is very poor.
Good place for indian movies! It is the only option I guess!! But really bad seats. Consider Century 20 Great Mall if your looking to see movies a bit more comfortably
Very good place for Indians films. But the place is half tidy and doesnt seem fit for a city like san jose
I wish there was a zero rating option. This place is the worst. They probably havent cleaned it in months. Please dont bother going here. Stinks a lot.
Very unclean theatre. They charge $12 on the weekends for seats that are full of stains and floors that are so sticky.. Next time I need to bring a hospital gown to sit on their seats. I have been to theatres in rural India and theyre 10x cleaner than this theatre.
Its good to see all indian languages movie..
Decent enough to watch Telugu movies!
The most outdated place in DT SJ you can almost touch the ceiling while watching movies
Old and needs a update. Ok for watching movies every so often. Seats are a bit small and have little leg room. In conclusion its ok but could be better.
If you wanted to watch a movie that isnt showing anywhere then fine, else even if the movie is showing 50 miles away go for it ..
Very very very bad ugly theater. The seats are stinks. I wont go again even though it is one and only theater which shows Indian movies. I think the management thinks this is more than enough for Indian Community in Bay Area, but even in India we do not have theater like this.
This theatre is poorly maintained, the only good part is that most of the regional movies come here and keeps changing so that we won’t miss any
The food was great but messy and the chairs were comfy but I need better service in the concessions counter
One spot for all indian movies. Especially tamilAnd telugu.
This theatre is good for Indian movies, we go here often to see new Indian movies, some time ticket price is really high but overall it is ok since we dont have many places to see Indian movies. This only run few shows so we need to buy tickets online just in case and we need to be early otherwise we need to sit in the front row which might give head ache
2* for the ambience and looks of this place. Including the average maintenance, if any.But the place is affordable, can buy a few snacks for less. And they play a lot of movies from South India, which is great when this is almost one of a kind.
Only place to watch South Indian movies without needing to pre-reserve. Free public parking available across the road. Very small screens and generally not very clean as well.
Ticket price was cheap sound was good but very old theater they need to update there look.
Excellent place to watch Indian movies. Light on the pocket as well.
Good place a watch regional Indian movies.
It was ok ok theatre. The screen is so small and the audio system is not great as well. Good for ordinary drama movies but not preferable if the movie has grand visuals and great music
The place is old, meesy, the screen is sub par, the sound quality is not that great and the seats are bad. But if u want to go to a mass indian movie, where u can whistle and have lots of people cheering, this is the place to go to. In other places u have calm crowds who gently clap at the end of the movie. Here u can whistle, comment and have a blast watching the movie
Not a great place to watch Indian cinemas. Dont try to compare this cinema hall with Century or other cinema theaters. Dont have high expectations on the quality of screens or hall or audio quality. Tuesdays ticket is $5 for most of the movies. I would prefer this theater only if the movie is not playing anywhere else.
Best (only?) place to watch Indian flicks. screens are sub par but I appreciate the choice and variety.
A third grade theatre, Very untidy, have not swept/mopped the theatre for months. It’s better watching movie at home. The ticket counter guy very rude and welcomes you with his bad breathe and cheap behavior. Oldest chairs, bugs in seats*******
They have upgraded the screen and sound system. But the theater itself needs an update
Very unhygienic and dirty place. Avoid !!
The theatre has definitely been better days. The place now smells due to lack of cleaning.
Theater originally built in the 20s awesome little spot great East Indie movies!
Dirty and tickets are a bit on the expensive side but its the closest place to my home that screens Tamil movies.
Simple and good. Snacks are cheap
Shady theatre. Requires maintenance
Budget friendly theatre for watching South Indian movies without burning your pocket. Could improve on cleanliness and seat quality.
Spot the right show and you get to watch a movie for $5. Sometimes suffocating, good enough comfortable seats though not fabric cushions. Nothing alarminly repelling. Could be tidy though.
Ok place. Cheap for students. Plays good Indian Regional movies
Plenty of parking. Good theatre
Was there to watch Tamil movie aram the movie hall is clean. The snacks were fresh and tasted good. I ordered samosa and thumbsup both was good
Just avoid this theatre..It smells urine.. seats are horrible. Sound system sucks. Food is stale.
Worst place ever.... seats have to be at least 40 yrs old... horrible, I rather pay more
Plays south indian tamil and telugu movies mainly. Below average ambience, seating and sound quality. Paid $11 per person (online booking with taxes), may vary based on demand.
Bug Bites, Urine Smell, Dirty Seats, Broken Air Conditioners, Unprofessional Staff, Under maintained infrastructure, suffocating experience etc. If you like watching movies in a toilet, you’d love it ! கக்கூஸ்க்கு paint அடிச்சு theatreன்ன்னு சொல்லி ஏமாத்துறாய்ங்க ! This place shouldn’t exist in the worlds largest economy ! Well, shouldn’t exist anywhere PERIOD !
Theater for Indian movies. No frills. Cheap place but you get what you pay for.
Only for mass movies celebrations
Good Bollywood movies
There is no other option. That is why I come here. This place is not clean, congested, seats are not comfortable. Bathrooms just 2 urinals on men side for almost 3 cinema halls. And out of that two one is closed. Stay away if possible.
Good place. Kind employees. But average cleanliness.
Takes you back to the time you used to go to a local tent to watch movies. You decide if thats good or bad!
There is no parking on premises or in vicinity. Finding a spot on the streets is a challenge. There is a school across the street and, according to front desk person, it is ok to park there! Theater is not clean. There are quite a few stained seats and seats are narrow. Not many options for snacks either!
Only good for indian movies that is not in amc and cineplex.
Nice place
The theatre ambience is really bad. It is very dirty and desperately needs a facelift!
Seats are nt comfortable, too small,v have 2 stand in lines outside in cold on weekends.nice staff
Below average theathre with some awesome indian food/snack offering.
Usually go to watch Bengali movies...pretty good!
New definition of dirty
