Took advantage of the rooftop movie last night at 3Below Theaters. I had a wonderful time!!The organizers did a great job of ensuring social distancing, while making the movie enjoyable. The parking garage next to the theaters was clean, even the door handles and elevator buttons were constantly being sanitized. You could see staff walking around sanitizing and cleaning. The price of the movie included $10 towards the Pix & Pints Cafe. Apparently you can order snacks/drinks online and have it ready by the time you get there. The Cafe also offered delivery to the rooftop so you dont have to wait and miss the movie. The cafe sold alcoholic drinks too!I highly recommend the rooftop theater to anyone looking to get out of the house and enjoy a movie outside!
Had a great experience with 3Below for the outdoor, rooftop movie viewing. Such a great concept. Very, very friendly staff from the ticket window to the concessions to the rooftop ushers. Employees treated everyone with respect and were delighted to have us there. The seat bubbles were well spaced out, everything was sanitized and overall the experience was enjoyable. Would highly recommend for date night or night out with the family.
Great service and hospitality! Seating is very spacious. Be back soon.
I am astounded by the fact that they cancelled a performance due to the pandemic and have refused to refund the payments made by hundreds of theater goers. Offers of a voucher for other shows of a future performance of the same show possibly a year from now is unacceptable.
The seats are great, you dont slide down or creep down. They look smooth, so its not intuitive this observation.Popcorn is just right for butter and salt, but I dont remember the name of the woman who made it, and dont know for sure if its repeatable. This wasnt the first time Ive had the popcorn but dont recall previous experiences particularly. The hot dogs I can guarantee as consistently prepared. Best hot dogs anywhere around. Entirely different league from what youll find at Costco, 7-11, or even Cinemark Santana Row -- the Eisenburg. They have gelato plus multiple other offerings not typically found at movie theaters, all priced well below the norm.A lot of hard to find films are shown here, and they rotate the scheduling. For example, a film showing at 4pm on one day will show at 8pm the next day. So people unable to go at certain times have more opportunities.
I have been coming here for years. In its first incarnation, as Camera 3 and now as 3Below Theaters & Lounge. Its a small theater with a great community vibe. They show a wide variety of films (supporting local new films and artists) and shows. Recently showing, La Boheme (The Royal Opera), ComedySportz, and the classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have enjoyed the live shows that they have put on as well. The seats are comfortable, and the food is better than most standard theater food. Food & movies are reasonably priced.Parking is very easy for downtown.
What a great place if youre over age 12 and love movies! We count on 3B for the good stuff (thoughtful, dramatic, international) film fare. Have enjoyed their live shows, too. The talent is always like Broadway level!
Great small theater that supports local new films! Very, very clean! Loved the environment and experience. Great staff!!
I like watching movies here. Its cozy, not too crowded and their sing along/quote along are fun!
Great place to watch the barely legal shadow cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show
Definitely a charming theater. The seats were comfy and the show we saw (Disenchanted) was really funny. We are already trying to plan when to go for another show! The options at the snack bar were pretty good, and not outrageously priced either.
I like this place, is a mix between movie theater and theater with a fun culture flavour. the staff is very friendly, i tried popcorn with glass of wine and the play was very fun. theres a parking lot on site please remember get your parking ticket validated.
Cool place with sing-alongs, documentaries and art house films. Easy parking, good snacks, and friendly staff.
Singalong Sound of Music. Whats not to love? This theater is trying hard to bring a variety of live entertainment and film to downtown SJ. I hope they are successful.
Fun place a variety of things yo do.
My church just moved to this location on Sundays at 10:30 am. Great spot, great building. Its a close to many shops, restaurants and has its own carport.
I love what the Guggenheims have been doing with the theaters. Its not your average movie theater. There is always something interesting happening, live theater, sing alongs, art films. And the snacks at the snack bar are good too.
I so appreciate that this place has kept alive the Camera 3 tradition of hosting first runs of small Independent films. This was sometimes the only venue in the entire South Bay that was showing some really phenomenal small budget indie movies, and still have that around in Downtown San José is rad.I havent seen any live shows yet, but I hope to check those out. But I love the addition of more sing-alongs and cult movies! Very glad to have this place in the community.
Good location. Free (validated) parking in the evening. Clean facilities. Spacious restrooms.
Great place to see a variety of indie films and theatrical performances.
Very dissapointed in the audio quality of their showing of El Camino. The theater staff tried to indicate that this is how they filmed the movie but the Netflix version sound was perfect.
Theater played the wrong format of the movie I thought was advertised and ended up paying for(Paided for an english language version, ended up watching the subtitled version), movie started late and had to sit in a darken theater for 10 mins. Ive had better experiences from the shittiest chain movie theaters than this!
Great personal improv experience in a smallish theatre. Great family night out!
Completely redesigned with style (used to be Camera One). Showcases fun shows, independent movies, foreign movies, ComedySports. We say Whos Holiday! starring the amazingly talented Shannon Guggenheim.
Great local theater. Get right to the film no obnoxious ads or previews! The best. Such nice staff members too.
3Below is the only movie theater in downtown San Jose. Its newly renovated and the theaters are clean and comfortable. An on-site cafe offers snacks and drinks, including alcohol. In addition to movies, the theater also has comedy nights in one of its three screening rooms.
Nice location. Parking garage. Clean facilities. Cool place.
Superb place, I go to the san Jose comedy sportz here all the time. Small little theater but its well maintained and everyone is nice. They even provide validation :)
This is our third show there and it is a great experience. Good plays combining young and talented and more senior experienced actors, a wonderful ambiance and so nice people. Love it
Great theater with an intimate ambiance!
Renovation looks great. Staff are nice. Projection booth is fine.
I love this place for all its charm and the independent and off the beaten path movies. No, the seats dont recline and out cant bring beer into the theater but what they dont have in creature comforts they make up for in genuine friendly staff, interesting movies and oh my god have you seen the donuts they serve here? They are made by Psycho donuts and are simply amazing.Come see a cool indie film, eat a donut and support local.
Very nice staff but seats are a little too small and screen is a little too big for the size of the theater. But thats just my opinion. The decor is cool. A little on the pricey side on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. But they have a discounted $10 rate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays so thats nice. Otherwise its $14. Yikes. I Wish they had a relationship with Moviepass. They play a great selection of art-house films and hard to find independent movies. There is a parking garage nextdoor which is convenient and 3below validates parking so that is very nice.
Amazing theater! Their sing alongs are so much fun!
Camera 3 is now called 3 Below and is much nicer since the building was renovated--not grungy like before. The acoustic treatments as well as the lighting and projection have apparently been improved during the remodel. The seats appeared to be reupholstered and arent super comfortable but are certainly adequate.
Lovely theater. Staff are wonderful. Great food choices. Great schreen and projection/sound. One of those hidden gems!
Used to be camera 3 and Im so glad it is still thriving! Nice cafe and intimate theater.
Three great intimate theatres for live Off Broadway shows, new indie films, and the 30th year of local improv troupe Comedysportz. Also hosts sing-along and quote-along interactive performances of popular classics. The concession stand has some interesting snack options and a little cafe area for preshow or intermission. The Guggenheims are a local treasure!
We really enjoy the movies here. They are always really good! I really wish more people would come!
I went to see Dolores, the story of Dolores Huerta and the struggles she encountered organizing farm workers. She made a personal appearance along with long time friend, Luis Valdez. One again, I am inspired by this incredible woman.
Hadnt been there since they changed from Camera 3. They did an excellent job with the remodel. Everything is electronic including everything in the restrooms!
I loved the show and how the timelines also connect well with the timeline from TrollHunters. How both TV shows had a great pace and suspense. Cant wit for part 2 and 2019s WiZards! (TV SHOW NOT THEATER)
Was fun definitely give it a try once
Its new. Good concept. The show I went to see about Sondheim was an excellent attraction. The facility is trying hard. Clean. New. Cold!
Variety, comedy, film, and live theater with validated parking and reasonable admission
Great location.Friendly staff
If youre looking to bring friends for a good, cheap laugh bring them here. They validate parking, have original content and are phenomenal.I highly recommend you go on Saturday for comedysports and the show afterwards. It is cheap, fun and so amazing.
Love it. They validate parking and show independent films as well as classic hits.
3 stars for showing limited distribution art house films. Good 4K projection, poor sound, terrible theatre lighting management.
The entrance is not very good. The building is very old and smells. But the quality of audio and video is very good, given that tickets are not that expensive. Parking is also free with the purchase of any tickets.
Although its old and it doesnt have good playback equipment, I still love this place so much. You can find movies that are not on screen in other theatres like AMC or Century, especially European, Japanese movies.Camera 7 and 12 have been closed because of financial crisis of the management. I just hope Camera 3 can be alive. For those who like independent movies, European and foreign movies, please come to camera 3 and take a look. Youll never be disappointed!
Great place to watch the Rocky horror picture show
Watched a Hindi(Dangal) movie here. Calm and quite place. Far better compared to Towne 3(1433 The Alameda, San Jose) for watching Indian movies, watched the movie on screen 3 and the place was so clean. They provide parking validation. There is some discounts on movie tickets for students with IDs.
Im bummed that this is no longer a Camera Theater but i love the new super comfy recliners and side tables and personal service for food. They give you your tab at the end of the movie.
Great movies, comfortable seating, easy to get a seat (though sad there are rarely crowds), yummy donut place attached, and reasonable prices.
So much fun and so many different things to enjoy here!
Great small theater, interesting movie selection; need to patronize it or it will be closed like Camera 12.
Awesome place for great movies. It soon will get a facelift, but it is still a great place to catch a movie!!!
Very clean place.
The only place on the South Bay constantly providing indie and art films
Awesome, validates parking, homely, small intimate theatres with great choices, and cult showings to boot!
Great place and lots of fun doing the sing along
Slow, they need to work on getting people served faster. I bought 1 ticket and it nearly took 10 minutes for the whole transaction.
I love this place but unfortunately it is closing...
A little dirty. Good staff.
Theyre rebuilding the theater but theyre still doing comedysports
Seats uncomfortable. Good clear audio.
Love the little events held here, its a San Jose landmark
Always a great time
Great live theater!
Great seating
Nice renovation, comfortable theater, great show.
Colorful new decor, waiting for the new menu
Seats not comfortable.
Intimate, clean, great parking
Interesting place
Cheap and sometimes good movoes
Only venue for Art House films in the South Bay
Old dirty place. Gave 3 stars only because of movies the show.
Great selection of independent films
Great selection of films
